Bought my giant roam hybrid bike from threadgolds about 4 years ago and a great bike it is too in the early stages I was prone to getting a lot of punctures glass and thorns so I came up with a solution to have schwable marathon plus tyres fitted on the bike which I I am very greatfull to the guy who fitted them for me as I have heard they are quite difficult to fit for some people it's been almost 2 years since I have had these schwable tyres and I have never had a puncture since they are very extremely tough and I have hit glass on the road unintentionally it is true what people have said about these tyres from reviews they are almost like bullet proof a lot have said they are a bit heavier on rolling but you can most certainly not guarantee any more punctures it would have to be something really big and share to destroy these very tough tyres. What a fantastic and friendly service! I took my beloved Felt road bike to Threadgold Cycles last week after a winter of abuse - It needed some TLC and a service. I've previously always used 'chain' stores for services and always paid a premium for it - With a big company, you never get the personal service. When I went into Threadgold, all the staff were extremely knowledgeable about bikes and they gave my Felt a quick once over whilst I was there - This meant I could visually see the problems that my bike had, rather than trust them when I wasn't there. Fast forward a couple of days when I picked up my bike - It was like new, rode far better than when I've previously had it serviced. To top it off, it was significantly cheaper than if I'd taken it to a national chain. All in all great, friendly service and this will be my new bike shop of choice!

I was struggling to locate a large mountain bike during this extraordinary period. My wife showed me a post about Threadgold cycles and contacted them on my behalf. From that moment on it was plain sailing! I couldn’t have asked for the staff to be any more helpful. Checking stock with Cube. Explaining to me the benefits of the Aim model, and listing all sorts of accessories that they had in stock for me. To top it off, my bike was built and then delivered to my door for me to try out and see if I was happy with it, which I obviously am. 2 free services and the ease of using the CycleScheme voucher means that I have the bike I want, with peace of mind regarding looking after it and all with the least amount of stress possible! Would highly recommend Threadgold and looking to buy my son a bike from them in the near future

Excellent service and communication. I found these guys via Facebook and after looking at their reviews I looked no further. From messaging them on Facebook to having the bike picked up and repaired was a very good experience. They kept me up to date on the bike and informed me of any extra costs that would be needed. They are very honest people which is why I would recommend anyone to repair or service their bikes with these guys.They are that good I recommended by cousins to service their bike here. so if you are reading this review read no further and contact these guys for all your bike needs. Paul picked my bike up from my house, after i tried to service my bike myself and made a real mess wrong brakes chain to small, ect,ect, Received my bike back after about four days dropped off at my home! Its like riding a new bike, and cost a lot less than the last time I took it in to cookson for a service, I would recommend threadgoldcycles to anyone, they are honest and great value, my other two road bikes also went for a service, he could have done both and charged me a fortune, but was honest enough to only do one as the other wasn't worth doing up,won't go anywhere else now, and would recommend to anyone.thanks Paul and Caroline .

Threadgold Cycles is the best! Great service and great value. They are not a big faceless bike shop, but rather a small independant local shop, run by propper old school bike people, who do what they do out of love and not commercial gain! Paul has serviced my bikes for years, and I wouldn't take them anywhere else! There isn't anything that he doesn't know about bikes!!! I've also just bought a beautiful new bike from Threadgolds, and despite the difficulty sourcing a bike during a pandemic, Caroline hounded the supplier on a weekly basis to ensure that I got my bike on time and a good price!! On arriving at Threadgolds the other week , I was shocked to see a customer turned away when he asked for help with a flat tyre . I then entered to find a virtually empty shop , nothing like it was in the 80's . When I asked for information on bike tyres, i was talked to as if I had offended the guy belittling me because I asked for 26' tyre telling me it was for a kids bike.As it is its a SCOTT scale carbon fibre mountain bike definitely not a kids bike . This small dying shops is not worth stopping at as customer service and manners are 0 .

I was directed to Threadgold by a separate bike company as due to a brain injury suffered at age 5 I have always lacked the balance for a bike I was informed that Threadgold cycles specialised in supplying specialist special needs bikes including adult stabilisers and adult tricycles I now own a DiBlasi R34 Electric Folding Trike and have just taken my first bike ride at age 31 - loved every single second of it Big shout out to Paul for all his professionalism and support in getting the right specifications for my requirements thanks

I always use Threadgolds. Been there since I was a child. Paul and Terry are top guys, really knowledgable about what they do and dont just quote you stupid prices for the money. They actually explain everything. I kept getting punctures a while back when commuting. Took my back in maybe every fortnight to get a puncture repaired, and then Paul recommended the Schwalbe Smart Sam Plus. Never had a puncture since. Just shows they aren't in it for the money. I highly recommend. And it's good to support your local shops.

Please don't hesitate to visit Threadgolds. I wanted a spare for my cube MTB and every other shop in the land wanted to sell me a complete kit, 85 percent of which i DIDNT NEED. Threadgolds however , bent over backwards and located the required part, selling it me without the items not required. As a result , they saved me about £30. Knowledgeable, professional , polite , courteous, quick, effecient , effective , the list goes on........... An absolute hidden gem , 12/10 from me !!

I recently picked up my new Cube mountain bike from Paul at Threadgolds. The service I received was absolutely first class. Paul set up my bike and fitted accessories for me. He talked me through everything I need to know to take care and maintain my bike. I cant thank Paul and Caroline enough for getting me a bike when they are so hard to get hold of at the moment. Thank you to Paul for fixing my trike! It feels so different to ride on now. I brought my trike in with a puncture. Paul had a quick look at it and observed some safety issues. Quoted me for the puncture and told me he would keep my trike in to make it as safe as possible. Long time customer of thread golds. my go to bike repair shop. There's no Messing about. They just fix your bike n save you Money. and they won't rip you off unlike other bike shops. Went in with a wheel I thought was done for . thread golds fixed it for me for £ 20 quid. It's about 60 for a new one so they saved me some good money. Thanks thread golds.

I came across the staff as part of the support team to the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride and went for a repair. I found really helpful staff, who were very knowledgeable and provided superb follow up on purchases as well as repairs. I therefore bought a road bike from them and continue to use the shop to keep me on the road.

My 7 years old bike feels like new after receiving thorough service from Threadgold Cycles. They even fixed my rattling, broken panier rack and mudguards extending their lifespan, so I didn't need to buy new ones! Fantastic service, great value for money!

took my bike in for a service, i collected it, cycled less than half a mile and one of the brake blocks fell off, it wouldn't shift into top gear and the stuff i asked them to do didnt get done, so all in all not very impressed

Bought a mountain bike off MOTORWORLD.Dont go to them as they haven't got a clue and unsafely built.The bloke at THREADGOLDS sorted it and I've also had a few repairs done too.Great value and really friendly and helpful.

Great service and expertise, take 2 bikes there on a regular basis through general wear and tear and always serviced and repaired to an excellent stand, in a fair time frame at a reasonable price! Highly reccommend!
