I've been going here for over 16 years and it has definitely declined over that time. It's a very old cinema, definitely needs to be cleaned more often, fixed or renovated asap. Went to see a movie in VMax and the cup holders were gross and sticky with bits of food and drink stuck to the bottom. During a pandemic you think the cleaning would be a high standard and unfortunately it isn't. Another cinema has a problem with its lights switching off when the movie began. It was on for a good 10 minutes during the start of the movie and the seats in the same cinema looks like it had a chunk taken out from the seat. In the same cinema another chair was rocking back and forth when they are supposed to be stable. In the past there had been a smell problem but I haven't had it recently but a companion had complained to me about a cinema smelling bad as recently as the end of 2021. The toilets are terrible. Doors with missing locks, doors that don't close properly, toilets that don't flush, the hand dryer that blows out cold air, the soap dispensers not having soap in them.
Where do I start.. I use to come here every Tuesday and Thursday hadn’t been for years. Visited last night. It was a huge disappointment. Dull, unwelcoming dark gloomy atmosphere, Outdated, old and completely died out. Looks abandoned when you first walk up the entry steps. Got our tickets from the candy bar, 4 of the coke machines were faulty, lack of variety. Only the basics. The staff member at the Candy bar was absolutely awesome, helpful and professional 5/5 for her service. Kaitlyn I believe is her name. We were in cinema 8. Which was disgusting. The minute we walked in I had to hold my breath. The chairs stunk. Smelt like an old op shop that has been closed for a century. The chairs where stiff uncomfortable but also dirty. Chewing gum stuck on them, holes in the chairs. The only good room will be vmax as that’s probably the o my refurbished one. Toilets had no toilet paper. I checked 5 cubical before giving up & leaving. This place has so much potential. Won’t be back in. Hurry
I recently visited this cinema with subpar seating, and unfortunately, the experience was far from enjoyable. The uncomfortable and worn-out seats took away from the overall movie-watching experience. Throughout the film, I found myself constantly shifting and readjusting due to the lack of proper cushioning and support. This discomfort really distracted from my ability to fully immerse myself in the movie. It's a shame that such a fundamental aspect of the cinema experience was lacking, as it significantly impacted my enjoyment of the film. I hope the management considers upgrading the seating to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable experience for their patrons in the future.
Hate to say it, but the place is in desperate need of an upgrade. Floors are often sticky and stained with residue. Seats in the older cinemas are dreadful- filthy, smelly and falling apart. Service is often decent and can’t fault them on their friendliness and service approach. V-Max cinemas are nice, with leather seats and are generally cleaner. If event Liverpool wants to compete with newer, cleaner and better maintained locations coming up in the region, they REALLY need to start taking care of the place. Don’t get me started on the toilets- put it this way, if you value your health, just don’t bother using them. Shame, this place used to be great :(
Quite easily the worst movie going experience I've ever had. The show was advertised for 9pm. At 9.25pm, someone in the audience had to call the manager to remind him to start the movie. After 20 minutes of commercials, the film finally started at 9.45pm. Why we pay exorbitant ticket prices to watch commercials in a theatre is beyond me! The aircon was not working on a night when Sydney was 30 degrees hot even at that time. When I advised a staff member, they hurriedly rushed off as if they'd fix the issue but nothing happened. Sat there sweating through a 3 hour film. Just ridiculous. Last time I'm going to Event Liverpool.
The toilets were not clean at 2pm when I arrived and still not cleaned at 4.15 after the movie. The row of seats which I was seated were not clean filled with drink cartons popcorn and other rubbish. I went to tell someone who informed me they had just cleaned but when I returned this was untrue. So found another seat but the seats were very uncomfortable and in need of repair. I would choose another theatre than Liverpool to see a movie in future. I did report about toilets but was told they were short staffed. This is inexcusable especially when we are in this covid situation.
Watched Batman in Vmax so this is going to be there best experience. One of the left hand speakers are crackling when levels peak so it distracts you from the scene. Was let down by the service level here no soul left. Popcorn was chewy and stale tasting they swapped them but it was only marginally better. Choc tops wafer cone was soft and had to be chewed like gum. After spending $24 on popcorn, choc top, and a drink you expect at least premium snacking. Very upset and I think my network and myself will be making the drive to Edmonson Park or Wetherill Park
Terrible cinema and the worst cinema in the whole of Sydney! The new brunette girl with tattoos working at the front cashier desk is useless and not alert at all! When you asked her questions she will give you a "dumb look" and just ignored your questions. This kind of customer service is just not good enough! This cinema is in a very RUN DOWN condition with paints coming off and the toilet is like a public street toilet with broken tiles and broken toilet seats. Not going back to this horrible cinema anytime soon!
Cinemas clean, staff friendly, extremely disappointed as there is no parking concessions for movie patrons, the extra parking fee goes up quite steeply at Liverpool, considering the length of the majority of movies and the majority of people generally eat before or after the movie. Movies and Snack are dear enough without having to then pay for exorbitant parking fees on top. This discourages people’s from staying and then eating in the Shopping Centre. Will not use these cinemas again unti the issue is resolved.
I like this place. More comfortable seats, eye-friendly screens and a couple of coffee vending machines would've been awesome. ... Getting worse since my last review regarding this cinema. The air inside the cinema is getting heavier of fart smell, feels like a farting competition going on and the nastiest farters are being selected to watch movies with me. God knows if the air conditioning runs correctly anymore. Punks started to rush in doing all kinds of funny business. ... Hell .. I have to switch to Hoyts.
As far as the area goes, the cinema experience went about as far as I expected it would. The cinema wasn't the clean, felt dirty and dusty. The theatre itself had multiple broken chairs, unpleasant smells and popcorn/drinks everywhere on the floor and seats. I haven't experienced the Vmax but I'm sure it's at least somewhat better than the stansard theatres which are sadly declining in health as the years go by. I do hope that Event Cinemas gets a face lift at Liverpool but probably not any time soon.
Came to watch The Flash today in Cinema 12 the 1:15pm session.... the female worker that came in at 1pm to tell me that I had to leave because she had to clean the cinema was extremely rude!!! She yelled from where she was, it was 15mins before the session time, the cinema doors were open and she was such a b!%$&. She is lucky I didn't reciprocate the same rude energy - except I'll post a review instead.... I shouldve taken a photo of her - the rude cow!
The cinema complex is long overdue an uplift. The seats are broken and/or loose and in the ladies toilets there are some stalls that have no locks. Apart from the above, it's still ok to watch a movie. UPDATE: 12 months on, nothing has changed, it's actually worse. The staff are supposed to clean the seats generally between sessions. How they missed chewing gum is beyond me. My jacket is ruined and so is the upholstery in my car.
Hello, I noticed that there are halls whose seats are made of leather, so they are more hygienic than the halls whose seats are made of cloth, so they had a slight smell. I would advise that all halls be made of leather because it is more healthy and easier to clean and less accumulation of bacteria and germs. Show old films full of adventures such as Zeina and Hercules and films of adventurous sailors and thanks
Poor customer service. I bought tickets over the counter and asked to pay for medium combo popcorn and drink which costs $14 online. The lady was charging me $18 instead. After speaking to the manager, I had to pay $18 as they can't offer the online price. What a shame! I don't buy-in this because 2 weeks earlier, I had a same argument and the manager found in system how to charge $14 instead of $18.
Unfortunately the worst Events cinema I have been to in a very long time. The cinema is in desperate need of refurbishment. We purchased three tickets when we got into the cinema one of the seats was missing!! The seats that were there really needed some repair and are very uncomfortable. The ladies toilets were shocking in terms of cleanliness. Very sad as it was a great cinema over 20 years ago.
The state of the cinema is abysmal. The seats are obviously stained, looks like they haven’t been cleaned in years. There are cup holders missing from certain seats, obviously having broken off. It also doesn’t smell very good, on top of which we had to pay a staggering $5.50 for bottled water. All in all an uncomfortable experience not worth the ticket price for a child, much less an adult.
Convenient location but why does Westfield's not offer the extra free hour for movie goers? Every other shopping centre or cinemas does! Also the seats and bathrooms are very old, haven't been changed in 20 years. The prices should reflect the quality of the cinemas. Please shut it down and renovate as most sessions are now half empty. Go to wetherill park hoyts instead.
I recently visited Event Cinemas Liverpool to see a movie with friends, and it was a great experience. The cinema is conveniently located in the shopping center and has a wide range of movies to choose from. The seats were comfortable and the sound and picture quality were excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we had no problems with the ticketing process.
We have gone to this cinema in the pursuit of catching up the blockbuster DC movie and we were satisfied with the amenities, though some are a bit dated, we still have comfortable seats inside the cinema. Toilets were clean and not smelly so it was just fine. May not be the fancy cinema out there but my wife enjoyed the movie as my birthday treat for her that day.
I remember going there years ago, I thought they were nice cinemas, clean and tidy. Loved the popcorn and apple juice. I don’t remember what the movie was called, think I fell asleep but it was about an obese feral hermit who had a butter knife or something. Part horror part comedy. I don’t live in the area anymore but would def like to go back one day.
Please shut it down cinema 10 smells like someone died it's that bad and dirty and you want to take my money for this filth.Disgusting,I cant imagine what the other cinema rooms smell like. And I'm not a person that usally complains but thats how bad it was and fix your staff while your at it they are rude and unwelcoming. What a bloody train wreck.
The seat I had was surrounded by a serious smell and lots of poorly kept cushions with rips and tears. I ended up moving seats as I couldn’t handle the stench. I left feedback with the theatre itself. The staff we nice, the public areas were fine, but there’s no excuse for the smell and high number of ripped seats... will not be returning.
Big cinemas and I normally come here to watch Tamil films. Bit of driving for me but lot of parking available in rooftop for the cinema. The booking fees were too expensive, almost 4.95 for each ticket. This way too expensive compared to a lot of other online booking platforms. Event Cinema should fix this and reduce the cost.
Great place to see a movie but the venue is overdue for a refurb as it hasn’t changed in the last 15+ years. Don’t look up as you’ll see plenty of dust around. Not the worst place to see a movie but a little bit of work to get it up to date wouldn’t be hard. Best to book online as you will get the tickets heaps cheaper.
They need to seriously upgrade the seats big time, sometimes you walk in and it smells like urine or something gross. Came here for a date and I felt bad for the guy cause the seats were broken and had a stain on it. We couldn't even sit together and was forced to move to another seat that we weren't supposed to.
Nauseating, unhygienic and almost completely rundown. The seats are uncomfortable, the carpets beneath us smelt rotten and mouldy, and the venue in its entirety certainly requires a refurbishment. The bathrooms also wreaked of a disgusting scent and appeared dirty and unmonitored. Do not recommend whatsoever.
We have been coming here for a few years now since this is one of few cinemas in Sydney that shows South Indian Films (specifically Malayalam). The cinemas is definitely overdue for renovation as it has become more dirty and unclean. Best parking is on the rooftop. Tickets are cheaper when booked online.
went and saw The Creator in one of their smaller screening rooms, the screen was pretty big compared to their vmax and the sound was also as good. overall cinema watching experience was worth the price. snack shop was good with plenty of options for both food and drink. service was friendly and fast.
Needs an upgrade…. The customer service team is friendly, positive and helpful. However, this place could do with a positive makeover, upgrading of cinema rooms, bathrooms etc. Some of the claw machines also don’t work properly all the time, have lost my money to them on one too many occasions.
I went to event cinema to watch evil dead rise and the worker named Sarah came up to me and my friends and verbally harassed us with hurtful words, can’t say because it was too offensive. We decided not to watch the movie because our night was ruined and refunded our tickets. WORSE CINEMA EVER!
Event Cinemas in other suburbs have pretty high standards for cleanliness, their Liverpool branch is well below par. Carpets are smelly, washrooms are filthy, missing toilet roll section, you could see door locks are nailed on top of another lock etc. They don’t waive mall parking fee either.
I give 5 stars for customer services. One of the worker named "Brenda" is very polite and helpful to me last night. Even though she was quite busy last night but she still answer all my questions patiently. For the cinema, I give 4 stars as it is old cinema but the rest are all quite good.
The seats were good. Sound and picture quality are also good. Snack options were okay because they felt a bit expensive. Toilets are well maintained. Kids loved the arcade area. Parking is also available, which is really spacious. So overall, it is a good place for fun and entertainment.
The dirtiest cinemas I’ve ever been to you in Australia, seats ripped, stained, broken and some have “cum” stains on it… absolutely disgusting and this was in cinema 9. No one checks the tickets and people walk in and out all the time. If I can give 0 stars I would. Would not come back
My seat was broken and rocked up and down for the whole movie. The seats were so wore out, this is why the lights don’t come on till you have left the cinema. Disgusting, not to mention the ladies toilets where the toilets were filthy and the soap dispenser was broken …
Used to be good 15-20 years ago, but the place has gone downhill for a long time. It's run down, needs major renovation and the cinemas are dirty. Please management, if you are reading this, please renovate and create a better experience for all your Liverpool customers.
Seats were wet, smelly and had trash on them. The floors were dirty and not cleaned. It smells bad as well. This happened not once, but 3 times so far. If I'm paying to watch a movie i expect a clean area to enjoy my movie. Macarthur Event Cinemas is so much better.
The last time around watching John wick 4 at in a vmax cinema. It was a good experience in terms of video and audio, but one thing that was a little bit annoying was the air conditioning seem to be on an efficient setting and making that quite hot in the cinema
came with my 70year old mother to watch spider-man, a childhood favourite, came to set down obly to find cum stains on mine and her seats??!!! this is disgusting… cinema 5… i have now contracted herpes and all sort of problems, ill make sure ill never come back
Pls change the sitting we are paying 21 dollars we get shity seats .. Why can't the management change the seats .. It should be high to low seating but it's the worst to see the movie from the back seat...ppl infront was blocking the view ...nonsense.
I got harassed by a bunch of eshays. They remained in the cinema for half of the movie talked loudly. The staff was nice enough to come in and told them to stop but didn’t work. Hire security or something, otherwise, people please avoid at all cost.
‘Elvis’ Vmax Experience. The movie was excellent, but tickets overpriced, booking online extra ‘$’ plus carparking fees. Mess everywhere. Filthy toilets. Toilet paper spilling into foyers Unbelievable! Cinema 11 must have sound problem. Very loud.
Toilets and bathrooms are a disgrace. Hand dryers, too high on the walls, holding hands up for drying causes dripping water to drain onto clothes. Toilet paper is too low and to far back,on the wall and difficult to reach low and take paper from.
Absolutely disgusting. Chairs were broken and people where vaping, the bathrooms were very dirty, there was a lot of junkies screaming in the movie. The cinema smelt very bad. This movie hall deserves 0 stars. Never coming here again.
Pretty sure they haven't changed the carpet since way back when it was Greater Union... explains the smell! Seats are so uncomfortable. If it was cheaper than Reading cinemas, I could understand, but it's not. Wouldn't recommend.
Ambiance is good, but till end they have to switch on air-conditioning, after break they are switching off the air-conditioning, everyone feels no air, few people say sweating. So the maintenance team has to do their job properly
Terrible experience. So untidy and filthy. Popcorn dropped on the seats and floor was so dirty. Subpar maintenance at this place. Had to wait for over 10 mins to get my drinks and food billed. Don’t recommend this place at all
You can book your tickets online also food & drinks. . Easy to ensure 1.5 distance from others. We went on New Year Eve it was very quiet. So many movies out to see! Already planning our next movie day.
Mens toilets: 2/5 cubicals broken; 0/5 cubicals with toilet paper; 1/3 soap dispensers working: roof falling in in places. Cinemas are okay. They do the job. But the toilets are regularly in disrepair.
Subpar vmax experience here, with just acceptable seats that were a bit dirty. Sound system wasn't too great in Vmax either when compared to other locations. Hopefully they will refurbish it soon
One of the worst cinemas I have ever been. The seats are dirt filled, hand rests are disgustingly sticky (with dirt) and the stench of unclean floor is almost palpable. The toilet is filthy too.
Cinema 8 in Liverpool needs a thorough cleaning. Seats smells. Needs upgrade, we pay good money to go there. This is not a third world country. Actually it's the worst cinema I've been to.
Not impressed at all Cleanliness level is minimal and halls literally smell poorly. Having still old fabric seats that could do with a good wash if they won't put in leather seats!!!!
Park your car on the rooftop for easy access entry and exit. Book your tickets from the self service machine. Dont forget to scan your cinebuzz member for special vip prices.
No customer service.. cannot call. Can only submit enquiry online. How many hours do we need to wait for a reply which could easily be answered in a minute over the phone.
Totally recommend go here Event Cinemas Liverpool it so good and amazing the seat are comfortable too. I haven’t go to this cinema for long but surely I love it here.
Not only are the films more expensive than Hoyts, but you also don’t clean your seats AND there is no parking validation. We’ll be going to Hoyts in future.
Very good.Comfortabke seating popcorn tasted great. Movie screening was clear and quality. All in all, a nice place to spend time with family and friends!
Toilets seemed to not be checked, have kids running around the cinemas while trying to watch a movie. Have other kids yelling and vaping
Needs a desperate renovation. And certain people need to stop dirtying and damaging the cinema. Better to have security guards in there.
Unlike the other cinemas we have been to, one doesn't extend your parking limits. So we have to pay for the movie and the parking too.
Condemn the place! Stinks, wet carpets, no chairs for elderly. Horrible experience. Close the place down. Time to be renovated.
Its been years since I have been here. Its looking a bit tired and requires a refurbishment with new seats etc. Cheers Jeff
Such a bad cinema, chairs are dirty and tear apart. It smells really disgusting. Never ever suggested anyone to go there.
It's not a monitored place. Too many disturbing eliments in hall with out security taking any action. Lack of cleaning.
This is legitimately like gold class The screen is soooo big I love that you can get your own popcorn and drinks
Come here for cheap events cinema tickets. Toilets could be a bit more updated as well as seats in the cinema.
The cinema seats were rather worn out and the toilets were in a terrible state but the movie was good I guess
Thank you Kaylee for serving me at the candy bar kindly as I enjoy the BTS movie last Friday also! …
Only complaint is that ax seats cannot be tilted, so you have to see the movie with your back straight.
Need to upgrade their seating customer service was good staff were friendly just not what it used to be
I liked this cinema quiet and easy. The tickets were affordable if you were the cinebuzz member.
What a mess, holes in several seats. Well overdue for a refurb and smells like wet dog.
The cone ice cream was so yakky, cone was soggy. The pop corn was not crunchy at all.
Was a good cinema and only 7 people inside. Food and drink always a joke
Great theatre. There was only 4 of us in the whole cinema!! Outstanding
It's an expemace I want forget the move was good I seen it before
Great cinema that's the plus. The mens toilets are a disgusting
The cinema rooms were too small but I enjoyed my time there.
They didn’t bother turning the aircon for a 3.5 hour movie!
Its too squashy and no leg room, not very clean as well.
Give me the Five Nights At Freddys cardboard displays.
Too much advertisement. Hoyts is far better than this
Awesome place to watch movies with your lovely ones.
Comfy seats. Big screens. Great movie experience.
Nice and cosy theatre but need to be more clean.
Worst theaters bad smel and not cleaned properly
Worst seats, better plan some other place
