We'd love the chance to resolve any issues. Insult to Injury - Beware of late fee fine after 6 days! The credit card I used to auto pay my monthly rental was cancelled due to fraud activity. The day I received my new card I called to pay my rent and learned I was charged a $56 late fee! I plead my case, 3 years of paying Extra Space on time, the card was cancelled due to fraud, I’d called to let them know about the fraud activity (the day the card was declined) and I was waiting for a new card, I have an excellent credit score and pay my bills on time, etc. All the manager said, “it’s in your contract, it’s in your contract”, and “and you’re not able access your storage unit until the late fee is paid”. Absolutely no empathy whatsoever!

This is a review that is long overdue! I have been with this same facility for almost 4 years - I travel quite a bit around the US but call Oregon home, so it's ASSURING that your belongings are always safe and secure. That's achieved not only by the facility itself, but the staff is top notch - and is the reason why I am still renting and will continue to rent. Jeffery the facility manager is always there to help and he is so friendly & welcoming. The space is kept spotless, there are hand carts available, and plenty of parking. Everything is extremely secure with a key code for the entrance gate, cart storage and elevator banks. So very glad to have found this storage unit! Don't hesitate to pass an opportunity up to rent a space from this facility and it's extraordinary team - you won't regret the experience!

The cleanest, friendliest, most modern, and safest storage facility in the entire area! I only have two criteria when I select a storage facility: general clean and non-sketch feeling coupled with a relatively low cost. Extra Space Storage is ideal. I love that it’s well-it, totally secure, and is not open 24-7. It’s locked down at night to prevent monkey business since the surrounding ‘hood can be a bit rough. What I found cool is that there are mini-units available that are only 3’ tall. That’s all I need and the cost is ridiculously affordable. Most importantly, however, the staff was soooo friendly, helpful, and even funny. They jumped up to help me and answered questions I didn’t even know I had. Not sure what those bozos up in Seattle are like . Thank you Extra Space!

I was looking on google for a storage unit and saw that Extra Space Storage had the best reviews out of all the other storage places. If I could give more than five stars for my experience, I would. Jeffrey greeted me at the door and was very friendly. We chatted briefly about what I was looking for, then I was given a tour. Jeffrey answered all my questions was extremely helpful. The whole process was fast and the facility looks nice. I was worried about a possible break in because I’ve read reviews for other companies that talk about unit’s being broken into. This facility seems very secure and not likely to have a break in. I feel comfortable having my items stored here and don’t think anything’s going to happen to my stuff. Very nice facility! Clean, accessible, easy to use. Their staff was always ready to assist, nice people! I had a nice 5x5 unit. I will definitely come back when I need a storage again. Keep in mind though, each year they increase their prices, I started with $40 and ended up paying almost $80 a few years later, though it was still the most affordable storage Price/Quality. Keep in mind you will need to buy a special lock from them and you will need to pay the insurance (additional $10 per or more per month unless you have one). They offer the first month for free but you will need to pay for the lock, insurance, other fees… so it will not look like totally free :) otherwise it is a great facility and I loved it!

I got a space at extra space storage to store some stuff I had for an extended amount of time. I opted for the lower monthly rate of $110 rather than the one month free and a rate of $140 month since over time it’s more economical. After 4 months they raised my rent to $190 a month almost doubling the current rate. They also charged $20 to buy a lock that you can only use at their storage facility rather than just charging a deposit for it which is pretty wasteful and a cash grab in my opinion. I’m not usually one to leave reviews good or bad but after the fifth email asking me to share my experience at extra space I figured I’d better indulge them.

I rented a storage unit on Northwest 22nd in Portland,Or. After I paid cash for the unit and all services, I realized that I had my own lock and didn't need their lock. When I asked for the refund for the lock, the manager told me "we can credit the account", mind you that I had just given this dude cash 5 or 10 minutes ago! At first, I was like okay. However when I came in the next day, I was like I wanted that money back, not a credit. This dude went from "... we have a policy not to give back the money.." to ".. I don't have enough money in the till..". As I'm sure you can figure out, i really couldn't find it in me to appreciate that BS!

Best customer service of any place I’ve ever been to! Steve at the Shaw St location in Beaverton/Hillsboro is the best! Everyone there is accommodating, they make you feel heard, they just are all around great people! Thank you guys (especially Steve) for always being so wonderful and maintaining such a great storage facility. There are things in storage that are very precious to my ‘ohana and I so I’m very thankful they’re not quick to just foreclose on our storage if we’re late on payments. Just communicating with them is key and they’re amazing. Mahalo guys!

Wow. Customer service to the max! From booking my unit; to scheduling the move-out; I’ve never met a friendlier, more accommodating, personable team. I feel like I asked for a lot of last minute assistance and the Extra Space team was happy to accommodate (without a hint of frustration). I loved the staff and the amazing location so much that I was sad when the time came to move out of my storage unit (even when I no longer needed the extra space). Oh. Not to be missed: The fantastic, secure, fully-covered parking and loading/unloading garage.

UPDATE ONE YEAR LATER: We used this storage facility for over a year and it was always clean, safe and secure. Even in times of Corona, the customer service was excellent and they always went out of their way to be helpful, attentive and understanding. Huge thank you to Miles for help with our move out. Be wary of up charges. I was going to rent from this company and was given a quote online. While finalizing the lease they informed that additional charges for insurance was required, plus I would have to purchase a lock from them for the unit. I don't appreciate getting nickel and dimed and decided to take my business elsewhere. Update: I ended up renting a space from the Belmont location. Customer service was much better. They gave me a lock for free and didn't require additional insurance. Highly recommend!

I appreciate Joseph's efforts recovering my late fee (6 days late) due to credit card fraud after 3 years of paying on time. Thank you. I gave a one 1 star review earlier based on managers calous way of handling my dispute. No sympathy whatsoever. Friendly staff, wonderful facility (bright and clean) but I experienced a steady cadence of price increases over two years renting there: Started at $106 per month (July 2020) for a 10x10 and they increased my rate four times. Currently at $202 per month (as of July 2022). Overall happy with the service and would choose this storage place again, but wanted folks to be aware of their pricing practices - not particularly reasonable for longer term rentals.

The place is super clean and well kept. It's in a location that is accessible, easy to get to, not super busy. Most importantly, the two times we were in there, we were treated so well by two different employees. Ricardo is who finally set us up once we went in to get a place. He was so kind, patient, knowledgeable and informative. It is the people who make a place and an experience. Hiring well is what a good company does. Well done.

Went to check out the facility and I couldn't have been more happy. Property was extremely clean inside and outside, there was no homeless camps around the facility and in Portland thats hard to come by. Kyle was amazing! I was looking for a storage facility closer to Portland and I’m so thankful for the helpful and friendly staff! Kyle was extremely accommodating and showed us several units until we found one that suited our needs. The loading/unloading zone is in a secure parking lot and building access is very secure. I have had many storage units over the years. This one rates at the top. Clean easy to access building and units. Online to email to in person connected service is very smooth and seamless. When I had a issue with forgetting a key the in person help was outstanding.

I wanted to move between storage units and the agents over the phone as well as Cara made the process so easy with zero hassle. The facilities are very clean and well maintained. There is a nice covered garage parking and makes it easy to load and unload items.
