I'm becoming an Ottawa citizen coming this October... Hence decided to take upon myself to discovering my new city one step at a time. I know we're still grappling with the SARS-CoV-19 pandemic and now that the Δ [Delta] variant is out and about, more than ever we need to take care of each other, I'm a big believer that by getting vaccinated, I already had two jabs ✌, wearing masks and socially distancing we'll make it through in due time. Well dovetailing to Farm Boy, it was a wonderful experience, from the presentation and decor at the store, the wide well ventilated spaces and protective panels to the quality of the produce on every single section to the careful, friendly and attentive demeanor of the staff, this was hands down one of the best grocery shopping experiences that I've had in a very long time. Got myself some berries, water, cider, cheese and salad for a nice very Canadian dinner, why? Because gleefully, they carry local and Canadian producers and trying not to be biased here, but every single product that I had was amazing, flavorful, fresh and rich. Eating local does pay on quality. The store was busy, clean and people were happy and very respectful of each other's distance, I can say that this is the first grocery shopping experience that I've truly enjoyed in over 20 months, didn't get to suffer anxiety from people that refuses to social distance or that charges like a mindless buffalo down the isle. I'd highly recommend doing grocery shopping at Farm Boy, great experience all-in-all while supporting our Canadian producers with high quality products. Thanks guys.

Overall, a good downtown grocery store. Always very clean. Decent variety (although they don’t stock my favorite almond milk and if you want frozen food you might want to go elsewhere — not a lot of options. The layout is a bit weird, but it’s a small enough store that backtracking is no problem. It’s pretty busy weeknights at 5:30 ish, but otherwise there’s rarely a line as they have a lot of self check out machines (in person checkout is also available). The pricing is average, and they sometimes have really great sales. Decent cheese variety, and same goes for pasta sauce. Never seem to have jalepeno peppers. Hard to find the non organic avocado if you don’t know where to look. But on the plus side, there’s wine, beer, and cider.

Fruits, veggies, cleanliness Meat and fish I love the layout of the store compared to when it was Sobeys - the produce section is so much larger! They have lots of Canada grown/farmed items which is one of my favourite reasons for shopping here. The store is also being kept very clean and has hand sanitizer stations. Prices are a bitter higher than other stores, which is okay if the quality is better - and for fruits and veggies it is better. Unfortunately for chicken and fish I have found them not to be as good as YIG. I’ve had a couple really tough chicken breasts (they also seemed to be cut against the grain, or haphazardly). The fish is also oilier than I’m used to.

This Sobeys sells beer until 11pm every day except Sunday which is very handy. However as a grocery store this place is terrible. I've been going here since it opened and on multiple occasions they've been out of important ingredients needed for a recipe (chicken thighs, limes, avocados, fresh mint, rice noodles, pork tenderloin, etc.). Last visit, they were out of all types of ground beef! When I asked the guy at the meat counter about it he said I'd have to wait an hour and a half for some. That's ridiculous. The staff is generally pretty friendly but as a grocery store I'd say go to a larger one- this place will most likely be out of what you need.

Excellent big store and central location. Staff is friendly and accommodating, store is clean, shelves are always stocked and there is a good selection of quality food (hot/cold bar, fruits/veggies, etc). There is street parking nearby, but it is important to look at the signs (most are no stop/parking from 7:00am to 9:00am, paid from 9:00am to 3:30pm, no stop/parking between 3:30pm and 5:30pm and free from 5:30pm to 7:00am). Many other reviews are mentioning that there is no other parking, but there is - it's an underground parking and you can validate/redeem the ticket when paying at checkout.

Sobey's Urban Fresh is the closest grocery store to the downtown core that has almost everything you need. The layout is quite unique which either works for you or it doesn't. It's an experience to enjoy discovering the various places within while it can be frustrating if you know what you want but now sure where it is. Though that happens in every grocery store sometimes. The have added more checkout lanes to compensate with the volume of customers that have been shopping there which is great. I have found produce that is far from fresh so I think there is a lot to improve in that department.

  • Michael Surette

Minimal selection. Wanted to buy fresh scallops. They had approx 20 very tiny remaining. Over $22 a pound. Therefore decided to buy salmon which they only had one fresh cut salmon remaining. Seafood selection is pretty much non existent; quite pathetic actually. Also Wanted to buy Fresh cut parmesan for my Caesar salad. They didn’t have anything other than grated “powder” Parmesan. Ended up buying some aged Parmesan which was really great though. Store is tiny; wine selection poor at best. I am a tourist visiting the city from BC. If in BC the store would fail

Groceries here tend to be pricier than elsewhere, but the location is very convenient. A lot of the time, stuff I buy from here goes bad well before the best before date, especially cheese often goes moldy within 2-3 days of purchase. Found a bunch of vacuum sealed mozzarella that was already moldy with an expiration date out over 6 months. Farmboy products themselves are very hit or miss, and more often than not they're a miss. Usually lots of cashier's though, so checkout is usually pretty fast, and even longer lines tend to go quickly.

This is probably the worst location I have been. The toum was watery. I returned a week later, as I do not work in the office all the time. I was asked for the proof of purchase or the product, which I did not have because I threw it in the garbage on the same day. Then another day I bought chicken (hot) that was not even room temperature. Today I asked someone from the office to pick up for me chicken tao which I know they advertises as "crispy". It is SOGGY. They also did not have kale caesar. My co-workers share the same opinion.

  • Rob Salter

Would like to applaud the company, and especially staff at this location, for their incredible diligence and thoroughness in keeping the store clean and orderly, in light of the pandemic. There is constantly someone working hard to scrub carts after use, there is a greeter at the door counting people for capacity; there is someone to expedite lines to cashiers; and announcements overhead every few minutes reminding people to keep their distance. This is the best grocery business around, and I’m super grateful for their hard work.

Two employees got confrontational with me due to my service dog. They weren’t even aware of rules of service animals. By law they need documentation but harness is not compulsory. I am a brain injury patient i showed my doctor note but i was asked to leave. They didn’t let me cash out with the few stuff I managed to get before they kicked me and my service dog. I had a panic attack right after when they told me to leave. They should be able to deal with kindness. I don’t go to this store or any stores anymore

  • The reviewer

Excellent refund policy. Wonderful store for fresh fruit and vegetables. They also have good offers, you just need to find the right section for produce discounts. They have a sushi section. The staff at Farm Boy are quite friendly and professional. I am happy to see that there are more multi-ethnic and multi-national employee than before, and I hope it is reflected in their management. Also, if there is any mistake in the price included in the receipt, they immediately refund the whole price of the item.

  • thomas esturan

Very courteous service. The buffet is really good the stuff obviously cares about the service that they gave and the products that are there certainly it's a bit more expensive than other places but you get value return. The only thing I would point out that's not so positive was a few times I bought green apples that came together in this bag and most of them had dark spots or some even had holes in it. the apples that were on display though meaning those sold separately by unit, those were fine

  • Pat Code

Central downtown location, very clean store, well laid out, fresh produce and good selection of products. The staff are excellent, you don't see that level of customer service often these days. On my last trip my hands were full carrying my son and I dropped my glasses and the cashier came around the cash, picked them up off the ground for me for me and offered to bag my small grocery order. It is the small actions like this that guarantees I will return to this location.

  • Jaime “Hi-Me” Farfan

Really great grocery store. The staff is super friendly and they take a very personal approach to client satisfaction. I wanted a particular cake after Canada day which was ONLY available for the holiday, and the manager made a special order for me, making a personal promise that if he couldn't get it, I would get a $50 credit for the store. Sure enough, the Wednesday after the cake was in :). Little things like this go a long way in showing customer appreciation.

  • Brynn

I go here to get my meat and produce. The other grocery stores in the area don't have nearly the same quality. Farmboy in general has less selection than for instance a Loblaws or independent would, so there are a lot of brands and specific things they don't carry - but the quality, in general, is much much better in terms of meat, produce, and sometimes organics/ health foods. This location also has a beer aisle and a wine shop (not a wine rack) attached.

  • Bi L

Conveniently located in downtown with Fresh produce at a great price. When sales happen the prices are pretty good. Their natural/health food selection is definitely my favourite! They also have a sushi / salad / food bar to pick up things to go, as well as whole rotisserie chickens. Cashier helping me seemed unhappy to be there, and disappeared as soon as he handed me my receipt. However given the location, I’ll be back again for groceries.

  • Natasha

I'm giving 2 Stars mainly because they never have enough cashes open at peak times. The line today was almost to the end of the store, it's ridiculous. I wanted to get a few cucumbers and left when I saw that. It may be understaffing but perhaps offer more competitive wages? Otherwise, Food is almost always fresh, way better than independent but it's also generally more expensive. Great variety but some things are overpriced (eg salad bar).

  • sabine davies

So handy for when I stay in Ottawa at reStays. Overall happy with this place especially the friendly staff and excellent return policy. Bilingual information on Farm Boy products is always worth a chuckle. Stay away from FB tinned tuna, shrimp cocktail sauce and cooked frozen shrimp (cardboard). Tulips also disappointed big time. Farm Boy doesn't seem to respond. Add to the list is 'meh' products, croissants au beurre. Not recommanded.

  • Ed Chunski

First time here. Loved it! Huge big space, and great selection of produce. Very impressed. Meat and seafood section offered lots of choices too. So good to see a coffee grounder in the store since most other stores have done away with them. Staff was very friendly. They sanitized all the carriers and stuff, and had hand sanitizers by the doors too. I will definitely be back. This beats the supermarket near where I live by a long shot!

  • Tim Sisson

Nice clean store. I stop here sometimes to get things for lunch. There's buffet style option to make your lunch (you pay by weight I think) or various other cold options like sandwiches and salads. There's alps a nice outside area to eat your meal. It gets very busy and is probably a bit overpriced, but some of that is just because it is downtown. Overall I'd say it is a good grocery store if you need something while you are downtown.

  • DE3

Lived here about a decade on Metcalfe st. Nothing compares to Farm Boy, Quality unmatched , Price is competetive considering quality is high. Staff is truly wonderfull helpfull n does a great job running the location. keeping our residences full of good food. Had visitors from New Jersey, they fell in love with the store. Its so comforting too know i got them a couple blocks away, always good to go with satisfaction.

  • Lucy Leroux

I was disappointed today at the checkout as I was not asked if I had Air Miles. Also I had my own bag and the check out person didn't even offer to pack my groceries. He quickly put the next person through the cash while I was still packing my groceries and because she needed a bag the clerk packed her stuff while I was packing mine. I am a senior and I just think checkout clerks should be more courteous. Thanks

  • Louis B.

Very clean store, great selection, food is fresh, presentation is great. Today when I went to pick up some items the Caesar salad had no dressing available, when I saw the Chef checking the salad bar I asked him why there was no dressing for the salad. He went into the kitchen and at no charge brought me a generous portion of dressing at no charge. This is what I call going out of your way to please a customer.

  • Christopher Cascanette

Farm Boy has done an excellent job at refreshing the Sobey's Urban Fresh that once occupied this space. Their product quality is right in line with the high calibre food they have always provided. Living in the downtown core I missed Farm Boy and was relieved when they came into our urban centre. The layout of the store makes great sense and the store is full of enthusiastic and willing staff.

  • Ewan Perrott

To be frank, it's close to my house and has a good enough selection. This alone makes me love it. It doesn't have a large selection of prepackaged items, but a great amount of fresh ingredients to choose from. If you're looking for a cheap and easy grocery run for one person, it's not super. Ingredients for a weeks worth of meals for two, then this is your spot if you're in the downtown core.

  • Kay Campbell

this used to be a sobeys, but they renovated into a farm boy and i like it much better! location is super convenient for the downtown core. only complaint is there's a few times we've bought bread or buns (packaged, not from the bakery section) and once we got it home we realized it already moldy. either way, i love the healthyish options for prepared food and the fresh cut sea salt chips.

  • Pradyumna Gujjar

Farm boy has the best selection of veggies and fruits, second only to Whole Foods. They are a little on the expensive side but the quality is seen. Stocks are replenished quite often and it is generally crowded on the weekends. They do have a parking lot and do redeem parking upto 2 hours. Overall, would definitely recommend this store for their fresh produce, meat and poultry.

  • Jeanine BB

Not much parking around this store but it was nice and clean and has a lot of fresh and unique items. It is quite handy if you are traveling and would like a fresh meal without going to a restaurant and eating typical restaurant food. The only thing I found a bit strange about this store was they sell beer but not wine which seems a little bit odd compared to most stores..

  • Bryce Dymond

Downtown grocery stores are a necessity and this farm boy is a perfect fit in Centretown. The produce is the best in the core, the to go food is nice and the quality of food is high. In my last 4 visits I have had great costumer service. I highly recommend going to this Farm Boy for your grocery needs. If there was one knock on this store it would be there beer fridge.

  • Kuchbhi Alochak

Good grocery store. When I visited in July, found the produce fresh and good quality. Yesterday could not locate Sobeys. Has the store been shut down due to construction? There was no notice or signboard outside anywhere. How would people know if a store is shutdown for any reason without a notice board especially when it is convenient place to shop for your food?

  • Ela Meadows

I accidentally left my payment card at home and was distraught at checkout. The cashier said to put my purchase in the bags I'd brought and she'd watch it for me while I got my card. When I returned she quickly checked me out as she'd already printed the code for the order I'd made making paying and going on my way (the second time smh) smooth and efficient.

  • Victoria Savage

Probably my favourite Ottawa grocer. Farm Boy has great homemade products and everything there is so fresh you've almost got to eat it day of. Honestly for the quality of the food the prices are absolutely competitive and fair. Also a very pleasant shopping experience, the staff are always extremely helpful and friendly. Can't recommend it highly enough.

  • Katia Gaulin

I went in this morning alone (im a female) and realized i was being followed by a guy, the cashiers called someone to walk me to work in case the guy was waiting outside for me… i caught a glimpse at his name, thank you oliver for making sure i was okay! I appreciate people like you and guys like you tell me theres still good people out there!!!

  • Paul Atkinson

Love the layout, the hot and cold bar, beer selection and convienince, selection for produce is good, store is clean and compact. Overall selection nay leave you wanting more, prices are a little on the high side, however, it's downtown Ottawa, mere steps from Parliament hill; that's to be expected. I've no doubt the rent is astronomically high.

  • Pawan Dubey

Convenient location and good selection. Although it's a bit on the pricey side but I do find what I need here 90% of the time. The staff don't get in your way and there's a self serve checkout so you can be in and out of the place in a jiffy. There's a Nutella bar beside it but I've heard a bad anecdote about the customer service in there.

  • Colin Snelson

This Farm Boy location is great. Staff are always super pleasant and prices are always reasonable. Lots of fresh produce and good selection of meats and cheeses! Little bit of everything here! Would definitely recommend visiting this location. Only downside is make sure you go in the morning for the best selection of seasonal produce.

  • Hengameh Jamshidi

Fresh food, fruits and bakery items all day long. Only downside is that they start closing down the store and the food shelves at least 45 minutes before the official closing time and even turn off the lights of the store in many sections. Plus point is they sell beer. Perfect place to buy a healthy late night snack and drink.

  • Catherine

Not my regular grocery store, but I must say that I really dislike the store layout and find it hard to navigate anytime I need to pick up something. The availability of beer in the store (and wine next-by) is very helpful. They have good fresh produce & specialty foods for healthy eating which sometimes gets me in the store.

  • Gaby

Such a pleasant grocery shopping experience! This Farm Boy in particular is exceptional. I live much closer to other stores, but will happily put in the extra effort to visit this Farm Boy instead. It holds all the staples, plus way more. The selection of fruit and veg is always so fresh, not to mention the array of cheeses.

  • H M

Kind of on the expensive side and doesn’t have that much variety but super convenient so that makes up for it. It has a salad bAr and good ready to go meals. Also has beer and ciders which is always a plus. And it has a wine rack connected in side of it as well. Self check out but cashiers are also available. Good produce.

  • richard maclean

I can never say enough good things about Farm Boy in any location. Currently shopping in Centertown. The produce is always fresh and well priced. Recently purchased fermented Sauerkraut $2.99 ($8.99 at Your Independent). Staff always very cheerful and eager to help you find something. Work ethic always impresses me!

  • Mark Whitton

Best value for coffee and breakfast in the area. Van Houtte coffee is $1, lattes are $2, and they serve low cost waffles, crepes, and breakfast pastries. You can sit inside, outside, or take things home. Coffee is quite good, service is fast and pleasant, and very convenient if you live or are staying in the area.

  • Christine Guerin

One of the nicest grocery store there is! Nice produce displays, the meat department is well arranged and they have a nice assortment, as with the bakery and other departments. They also have a wide variety of ready made meals that you can take home or eat-in right in the store! Very clean and pleasant staff!

  • Alexandra

Great location, lots of options! My ONLY gripe is that you don't have regular ol' potato fries, only waffle fries or vegetables fries. Give me reasonably-priced fries so I can make my own veggie poutine please! Hot bar is dope, this place also has craft and imported beer selection, plus a wine shop next door.

  • Armine Alex Hollohan

If you are a student bring your air miles card (or get one) and you will get 10% discount everyday! Also has great produce. Only negative is the layout is confusing and doesn't flow the best but there is always staff around to help you find what you are looking. And they have super helpful and friendly staff.

  • Florence Hrehirchek

What isn't there to love about Farm Boy. Well managed, great staff ,fresh produce which is often Canadian. I love to try out there personal store brand products which never fail to deliver. Perfect place to pick up a quick healthy meal. They are following covid19 rules as well so I feel safe shopping there.

  • Jason Gedge

I like the look and feel of Farm Boy, and there's some interesting products here, but overall I'm not a fan of this store. I feel like there's less product variety than the Sobeys that used to be here. It's also laid out confusingly. I generally have to make several rounds to find the products I want.

  • Alya H

Great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, hot take out options and many different snacks and treats. Really nice supermarket is conveniently located, has friendly staff and is super clean. We came here several times during a visit in Ottawa to get all our groceries and they never disappointed!

  • D Louise

The staff at this store have been super friendly every single time I've shopped here! I like shopping here for the great selection of fresh produce, plus the store is really clean and has a nice atmosphere. I also love that they have moved away from plastic bags and have more eco friendly options!

  • hehehehey

Best grocery store in downtown Ottawa! Has a little dinning area and microwave for whatever you buy at their prepackaged food section. A good selection of already prepared breakfast/lunch/dinner. Nice shopping hours as well, especially when the other stores are not open in early saturday/sundays

  • Diana Dobrovetsky

The only thing I don’t like is that the coffee in the coffee bar is lukewarm by 9 AM. I asked a cashier when it is filled and she said 7:30. I’m still home then. I really like getting my coffee when I grocery shop. Please do like the location in the west end where it is hot into the afternoon.

  • Taelor Chapotchkine

Optimal, convenient location downtown and high quality produce/products. The staff consistently provide kind, personable service. I truly appreciate this given how distressing it must be working during COVID-19 times. It can get quite busy but the staff remain composed, professional, and kind.

  • Aaron Newlands

Kritfayle is a rpg podcast group and we are on holiday. While it's great to try new things it's also nice to find some familiar ones. We dropped into farmboy to grab some essentials. The food is always good quality. The donuts are great. The staff was nice and there is also a swinging monkey

  • Wayne 73

Would give it 0 if available. Prices are outrageously high when compared to other grocery stores. Certain food items very limited and little to choose from such as microwaveable meals. They should have modelled it as Soby store that was reasonable priced and offered wider selections of items

  • Rhys Groen

Honestly my favorite grocery store in the city. They always have such fresh ingredients that you can't get elsewhere, always top quality too. From their fresh baked bread, to their frozen fruit and with everything in between you can always count on getting the best groceries in the city.

  • Matte Jimmone

Friendly staff, clean and convenient store. However, I believe a lot of their meats are spoiled. May be using carbon monoxide on them. One of the butchers doesn't wear gloves either. And I understand it's a small volume Sobeys, but a lot of the stuff is more expensive than Whole Foods.

  • Michael Noynay

Very friendly staff as it was my first time and didn't know how to maneuver within the store. They helped us find everything we needed. Layout is kinda weird and very maze-like. Good place to visit for beer/wine if LCBO or Beer Store has already closed. Would definitely visit again.

  • Caroline Phillips

Farm Boy is my favourite fresh produce store in Ottawa for many reasons, including its excellent customer service. I have had such wonderful experiences at this location over my past several shopping trips, with employees being so helpful and friendly. The staff really is the best.

  • Wendy Waserman

It is truly a pleasure shopping at this Farm Boy. The produce selection is outstanding and the prices are competitive. I'm also a big fan of the farm boy spicy pickled egg plant and they are one of the only ones that carry authentic flour tortillas kept in the refrigerated section.

  • Tom Ford

Wonderful atmosphere with quality produce offered at a reasonable price that beats many grocery competitor prices. Farmboy is also environmentally-conscious, and offers their own personal line of products that come in recyclable packaging, which is unlike most grocery competitors.

  • Sarah Jane MacDonald

I had the most incredible experience at Farm Boy today. The staff were so accommodating and helpful...not to mention the food is high quality and delicious. I am proud to shop at FarmBoy knowing they are upholding long-held Canadian standards of love, care and non-discrimination.

  • Richie Spiro

On Wednesday, December 4, I bought tenderloin. when I cooked it, the meat was old and very strong! Disappointment! Too bad! Customer fraud. I am a cook by profession and I have never had another chance to cook such a disappointing tenderloin. This is the last time I shop there.

  • Rob Simpson

No parking only on the street out front and there is like five spots and they are always taken unless you drive around and around , they should build some thing like independent has ,underground parking but they don't lol. Walk there is your best chance or risk a parking ticket

  • Criss8427

Fresh produce, fish, and meat. I'd recommend coming here for the bakery: fresh and affordable loaves as well as the tastiest large, soft cookies. Also, if you need fresh vegetables, salmon, meat, or wholesome prepackaged meals (just pop in the oven), Farm Boy assures quality.

  • Don Cook

What a great new addition to Centretown. Stopped in to get some breakfast items while we are staying in a hotel for a week. There is a great selection of fresh items, ready to serve and deli. We got everything we needed. We wish that there was one in the downtown of our city.

  • Alice Williams

Nice clean grocery store. Staff are always around so you have no problem getting help. I find that it's not always that busy so you can park really close to the entrance. They have a great produce, meat, and seafood section. I haven't tried their bakery but it looks great!

  • Steve S

This is our local grocery store. The product is usually nice and fresh. Sales are often so it's easy to find deals. My biggest complaint is the bike rack that doesn't accommodate more that a few bikes. An "Urban" store should probably think more about the "urban" commuter.

  • Alexander Lock

I was out for a walk downtown in Ottawa and needed a bathroom. This farm boy has a bathroom. Lol. Like all farm boys the story is well lit clean and lovely on the inside. I was very focused on my task though and unfortunately did not get a chance to go through the store.

  • R Patel

You can never go wrong with Farm Boy. The produce is almost always of great quality and they have many unique products and brands not found at other grocery stores. The quality of the meat at the meat counter is also excellent for a grocery store. I highly recommend it.

  • Andrew Carswell

A decent if slightly over-priced grocery store, but the lunch buffet is truly underwhelming for the price. Whereas the salad selection is good, the meats and other mains are really quite cheap and look like a high school cafeteria selection. Surely they could do better.

  • Colleen Daley

i am at the cash. cashier serves somebody while i am still packing my purchases. i complain i want my distance to the cashier. little old white man with an untrimmed beard, tells me to wear a mask. i spent $44. i want the respect is due. i dont want to be ganged up on.

  • Alexandre LeBlanc

Fresh produce of great quality. Lunch buffet is tasty and varied. Pizza is affordable and taste is very close to franchise equivalents. Large selection of made on location deserts, baked goods and prepared meat and fish dishes. Option to use regular or self-checkout.

  • Ray Perrier

Nicely laid out and clean store. Carry a wide variety and good selection of items including beer, wine, ethnic foods, deli, meat counter, produce, staples and much more. Efficient check out system and friendly, helpful staff. Very nice grocery shopping experience.

  • Alisson Carreno

This location is clean , staff is friendly. Selection is mostly of good variety however compared to other farm boys the hot food section tends to be repetitive and flowers are not replaced as frequently. Nevertheless, this is my go to farm boy for exotic fruit !

  • Ryan Mierzwa

Very expensive compared to "non-urban" grocery stores. A quick drive out of the downtown core will get you better prices as well as bigger selections. It's convenient and they have fresh meals to go that are fantastic, but convenience comes at a price. ($$)

  • Kirk Parsons

Always a great shopping experience. Clean store, great selection of products, Staff are amazingly great when you need help locating anything. Produce is fresh which is important. Farmboy needs to start a rewards program I love my community Farmboy..

  • Janet F

Enjoyed this urban market/food store. We bought fresh fruits and veggies, bread, meat sticks. They had a hot deli with lots of lunch and dinner options. Wines next door, and a sweets cafe. We bought food snd ate at a table in front of the store. Fun.

  • Scott Shorkey

Very good grocery store.. Good quality, looks nice, very convenient layout (though it can feel a little weird at first), and fast checkouts! Even when its very busy you're out of there fast. Its a little pricy but the quality makes it worth it.

  • Andrew Duncan

Very good for fresh food and a wide variety of meat cuts. The downsides are limited selection of some non-fresh staples and high prices on the independent brands they carry. I use and recommend them for fresh meat, vegetables, and baked goods.

  • Andy Trieu Show

This is better than most grocery stores in Australia. Huge range of snacks, frozen food, seafood, meats, cereals, candy, alcohol. I was also very impressed they had live lobster. The layout is quite strange and to be honest it’s a bit pricey.

  • Matthew Ni

The store is big and clean with full assortment of items. The salad bar is great with hot and cold food. Also offers roast beef sandwich and pizza cooked in store. Only con to the store is price is a tad higher than every other super market.

  • Raymond Tom

located downtown on Metcalfe a neighborhood store , you will find lots of late shoppers. your store hours close at 11:00 pm, I was at your store 10:00 pm to pick up some deli for dinner since I work at midnight. the deli section was closed

  • C Jay

Beautiful place to buy groceries, cheeses, Rideau Bakery rye bread, fresh produce, sushi, just made personal pizzas, other house made food, and beer. Store is well organized & spotless. Will return to shop. Downtowners are blessed to have

  • Erin Cousins

This is a wonderful environment to get all of your groceries. Whether you're a foodie with super taste buds, or just a student needing cheap, fresh produce (like myself) it's the perfect place to buy. The staff was also very friendly :)

Lots of warm and hot takeout food. Many gourmet food items. Also, a liquor store right next to it. The fresh produce was excellent, and had a unique section with lots of local talli beers. A little bit pricey at times for groceries.

This is the greatest friendliest Farmboy in the city. When you first enter you are met with a hello and smiling eyes. In the meat and seafood department, nothing is a problem. The ladies working in the deli are the best in town!

Only reason i go is because its close and there is a buffet which one has to really pick and choose items to eat as the majority of the main items are what is referred to as " buffet food" aka as stodge. There are 2 salad bars.

This is my favourite Farm Boy. Not to big. There is usually street parking and even a underground lot with a discount for shoppers. I prefer to walk myself. They sell a reasonable selection of beer and lots of prepared meals.

Great location, I go there to get an egg/bacon sandwich in the morning which is really delicious. It’s really convenient for people who work downtown. The store has a variety of things you can choose from, it’s really nice!

Although the layout is a bit of a labyrinth, the food is high quality - including the large assortment of salad bar and hot food self-serve options. That said, it would great if they had more than one sandwich without mayo.

It was hard to notice that it was a supermarket because of the name as a stranger here in Ottawa but I really enjoyed my first time in this grocery store. Very clean, well arranged, nice ambiance, people were very nice!

Very clean and well organized store. The staff we interacted with were friendly. I actually preferred the store layout. It was more open concept. Always a great selection of products and lots in stock. I will be back.

Very big store! It is located in the perfect area, and it offers a variety of products! Fresh fruit, vegetables and everything else you need! It can be rated as one of the best here in Ottawa… highly recommended!

If you avoid the middle aisles and stick to the edges, very affordable produce, meat and dairy can be found. Good gluten free options but the pricing leaves something to be desired. Flyer deals can be very good.

This grocery store has a completely different layout to every other Sobeys I have visited. And I loved it. They were well stocked and in a great location downtown. They also have plenty of self checkout cashes.

I used to work for this company, so there may be a conflict of interests in this review. Nefarious and deceptive. I'm sorry if you've been convinced they are better in some way. I know I won't shop there.

Great farm boy location with a large selection of pretty much everything. Had to write a review because both the cashier and one of the guys working there were extremely sweet and helped me find my way

  • Amelie March

This is definitely my favorite location. It's HUGE! Many of us from my office come here for the lunch buffet and I often grab some groceries while there too. They even have a nice seating area outside

The hot bar is a very good feature. Lots of selection for all 3 meals of the day. Nice fresh selection. The Nutella bar is a yummy guilty pleasure to choose from. You can buy alcohol at this location.
