The reviews are in two separate feedback: First review Nov 2020, there was a promotion price for Star Club member on Teriyaki Salmon Rice and the taste is delicious - good portion and great price. We also tried the Laab Chicken under Street Food Menu, personally I felt it was a little salty but it goes well with the cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce and beans, good for those who want to cut or reduce carb. The Vietnamese Iced Coffee taste exactly what we were expected (a little bitter), wish it has less ice in it but the after effect was strong until I can't sleep after drinking at 730pm+ on 17 Nov 2020...... it was 2am on 18-Nov-2020 when I wrote this Banana Fritters with ice cream are not disappointed, good for 2 person. I edited the reviews again, since I can only review once. This was about my company Team gathering at Fat noodle in mid December 2020. I contacted Fat Noodle 3 weeks before the lunch date and also sent our orders in advance. On that day we arrived, we waited almost 1 hour before they ordered our drinks and still want us to repeat our food order. Most of my colleagues were unhappy. I have sent in the order 3 days in advance, we were expected the food to be served not too long but over 1.5 hours wait is unacceptable. Since Fat Noodle was expecting 12 of us, we thought that they will get extra hands to help, but obviously not. There were only two man (Jacky and Brian) and a lady staff in the restaurant. The drinks bar only has one staff. It look like they are really short of staff/wait staff to help. My colleagues wanted me to give a feedback on this. We were disappointed with the service and some of the food.

We had a TERRIBLE dining experience here. I took two of my friends to impress them, but the whole thing ended up to be a humiliation, a TOTAL humiliation. We ordered Crispy Chicken Noodle, Beef Noodle thingy and Duck Fried Rice, both noodles were totally plain with no freaking flavour at all, the chicken was plain was well. The fried rice however, was externally salty and I have to drink water while eating it. And instead of calling it "Duck Fried Rice", I'd rather name it "Duck Skin Fried Rice", so damn disgusting by chewing the fat duck skin while eat the rice. Eventually, I made a complaint to the manager while paying the bill, and when responding, he was saying "I'm sorry to hear that" without even looking at me. How rude was that?! Was he even educated or does he even have a basic family discipline? He doesn't even deserve to work in the hospitality industry. I will never ever bring anyone to dine at this ridiculously rude, arrogant place where the food is unbelievably average in terms of the taste, well actually I should say the taste is BAD! I will try my best to influence and inform everyone around me not to dine here at all. I will never forget the rude and arrogant service at this Fatty place.

- Atmosphere and service 5/5 as the service was fast, the staff friendly and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. - in terms of the food it did not feel authentic enough and I feel the ingredients used are not fresh. However, the presentation was amazing. - the way to describe my beef pho was I felt the chef or the recipe used by the chef was not authentic enough, I’ve tasted better pho in sydney and Melbourne in a take away place for 10 dollars with cheaper ingredients used by the cooks in the takeaway restaurant. I’m not saying the food was bad because I gave it a 3/5 but felt like the chefs or the recipe used lost its authenticity somehow. I felt the food tasted like it was prepared by any well trained culinary person regardless of their ethnic background but it’s just not authentic. My overall rating would be a 3.5/5, the l food was decent and the price was decent but it’s not a place I would come eat again.

We waited over 40 minutes for our meal. Only to be told that they lost our docket. Once the staff realise there was a problem the restaurant manager did generously comp us with one drink each, However when we received our meal, the chicken and prawn wonton soup had no flavour and the Salt-N-Pepa calamari, which we ordered as an entree came out after we got our first main meal. The waitress that served us initially was good but appeared to have left halfway through the evening after forgetting to lodge our docket with the kitchen. And the follow-up waitress had no personality and simply dropped our food on the table, without a smile or recognition of our wait. It was our 50th birthday’s. We were looking forward to celebrating a great meal at a top Chef restaurant and we were sadly disappointed. Not what we expected at all. This is the first time we have actually lodged a review and unfortunately it’s not a good one.

I have been frequenting the renowned establishment of "Fat Noodle" for an extended period, spanning several years, and without hesitation, I must express my unequivocal appreciation for the exceptional culinary delights featured on their menu. Among the delectable offerings, there exists a particular dish that has won my heart and palate over - the esteemed Singapore Laksa. In my humble opinion, after having sampled various renditions across the city of Brisbane, I firmly contend that the Singapore Laksa served at "Fat Noodle" stands unrivaled, encapsulating an unparalleled symphony of flavors that elevates it to the pinnacle of gastronomic excellence in this vibrant culinary landscape.

Had the signature Luke Nguyen's Pho. I am sorry to say but personally it's a complete fail. I can honestly say pho is my favourite noodle soup ever. I have had pho from all over the world. Usually, a good pho broth is rich and complex with multitude of flavour and full of umami. This broth was unfortunately, flat and frankly, tasteless. The noodles were those dried variety. Therefore, lacks the silkiness and smoothness. The bean sprouts were blanched with the noodles thus lack the fresh crunchiness. However, there were generous amount of beef. Being one of the signature dish, I am truly disappointed. I hope this is a once off. I also ordered the Vietnamese Chicken salad. I would easily give that a 5* for taste. It's packed full of flavour, sweet sour, salty. Peanuts and fried shallots for crunch! The Singapore Laksa (no picture) was mediocre. A toned down version of the original. It did come with generous amount of seafood. Haven't had a chance to try the rice dishes. Not sure if I will return.

It's worth joining the Star Club (it's free to join at the Star counter in the Casino) to take advantage of the member specials. I've been to Fat Noodle on several occasions with large groups and small groups. On this occasion we came on a Saturday arvo/ early evening. We didn't have a booking and happened to get lucky with our group of 5. We all got the Massaman Lamb shanks which is available during the month of May at the members price of 19.90. The lamb shank was falling apart and they were generous with the massaman sauce. It wasn't spicy by my standards but a couple of the others thought it had a bit of a kick. One of the diners bit into a needle bone and it wasn't pleasant. Another found the needle bone and took it out. I told a staff member who apologised for not warning us about it. Not ideal. I've otherwise had pleasant experiences dining here.

My experience at the Fat Noodle restaurant in Brisbane was quite intriguing. Unfortunately, the special of the day was a letdown – it was dry and lacked both sauce and flavor, ultimately leading me to return the dish. However, I must commend the manager for being incredibly understanding and generous, offering me another dish at no charge. Opting for the Singaporean laksa turned out to be a wise decision. The broth was delightfully rich and bursting with flavors. The portions of chicken, seafood, and noodles were ample, though the absence of vegetables was a downside for me. Despite the initial hiccup, the restaurant redeemed itself with a satisfying meal, thanks in part to their accommodating manager.

Over the many years I have absolutely enjoyed the Fat Noodle Member specials. It’s such good value for money and they do not compromise in the quality and the flavours of the dishes. I leave feeling satisfied every time. We do order off the menu too. I don’t like to pay too much for Bahn Mi but that Crispy Pork Belly was just so tasty. The service is great too. Even when they are extremely busy the staff are there to accommodate. Thank you to all the staff and the chefs for your amazing hard work. I highly recommend the food here.

Friendly adequate service. Food is pretty average. I'd eat Vietnamese and often, at least once a week from various authentic places around Brisbane. This was sweetened, overcooked noodle, cold soup that really wasn't worth turning up for let alone the price tag. The beef was Ok. But again, it had too much going on, flavour wasn't authentic and it tasted like Papa Rich or one of those "McDonalds" of Asian cuisine. Never had a Pho that looked like river water before, hopefully I won't again either. I also find the menu confused. Is it Vietnamese, Thai, Chinese or just random? I suppose that's what to expect at the casino... Cater to everyone, provide quality to none.

Update 2022: Had the January special of wagyu beef and prawn stir fry with rice noodle for $9.90, really good! 2021: Delicious food. We had the lamb shanks massaman curry with coconut rice, very flavourful with the meat so tender, fell off the bone and just the right amount of spiciness. We also enjoyed the miang goong (prawn on betel leaves), lemongrass and garlic silken tofu and the monthly special - pepper beef and prawns with egg fried rice. The only let down was the signature pho. I've been a few times and the service have been prompt, friendly and attentive. Get the Star Club membership (for free) to get the $14.90 monthly special deals + 10% off food and drinks. We had the Thai grilled chicken with sticky rice and pickles. It was really good for the price!

  • Jon Luthje

Great atmosphere, attentive staff, but the food was a bit of a let-down at any price, but especially disappointing given it's at the upper end of the pricing spectrum. The pho was watery, unseasoned and lacked flavour, the pho noodles were oversoaked and had a mushy texture, the broth was not hot enough to cook the beef on top, resulting in a raw meat experience, the garnish had clearly been sitting out for some time as it was limp and shrivelled, some dumplings appeared to be re-heated in their steamer as they were stuck to the steamer basket, despite us being there 5 minutes after open. A lot of misses ... not many hits.

Had high expectations for an enjoyable meal, however was left very disappointed with Luke’s signature dish - Beef Rib Pho. The meal lacked taste, simply it was bland and totally tasteless to the point I didn’t even finish the meal. The table we were sat at for 4 people was a weird configuration where we were not sitting across from each other and left us all feeling uncomfortable. Friends who also ate had other dishes which I tasted and I am pleased to say did have some flavour, but overall after watching Luke on MasterChef my expectations were definitely left deflated.

1st time dining at this venue and absolutely loved the whole venue, very relaxed and quiet, staff were amazingly polite and we were not rushed to order, the food was just served exceptional my well presented, fresh and hot and we were not kept waiting at all, waitress informed us of how their system worked re: delivery of order and we were more than happy with the reasons given, we were so impressed we even as an afterthought ordered desert so glad we did, I am not a big eater so asked for a doggy bag for my leftovers waiter was more than happy to oblige with one and a carry bag to boot! Will definately be back for more

Wanting to treat ourselves after being married that day this venue was an easy reservation, however it was difficult to find for people who were from out of town. Service was initially prompt but soon faded and we didn't experience any ongoing check ins. The food was delivered quickly and was good quality, the ambience was dull and there was a lack of friendliness and light. Overall it was simply an okay experience.

Fat noodle gave me the fat stomach. Mee Goreng was sensational. The barbecued pork and chicken broth was sublime. The pork buns were good as always but you’d be a dingus if you stuffed up a pork bun. Great location and setup as well. With a name like Luke Nguyen attached to it I expected good food but high prices - boy was I wrong. Everything here is pretty cheap as well as delicious. That’s good because charging lots for broth and noodles would be daylight robbery, so thank you Luke for serving great food and not going all Calombaris on it and charging us through the nose while underpaying staff.

  • Mark Yee

Good food. But expensive. I suppose you're paying for all the resources put into making fat noodle a post restaurant. The laksa and beef noodles are awesome! One class above the rest. However, if only the laksa was spicier. Fellow Asians, you need to add some sliced chilies into the laksa. To the rest unfamiliar with Asian noodles, this will be a good start. For when you fly to Asia for your next holiday, you had better be ready for spicy soup noodles. The beef pho here is different. Boiled for 20 hours and with some herbs, you'll slurp the whole bowl clean. Makes you think of "bak kut teh".

  • Leonie Krafft (Futura97)

Extremely disappointed. 15 mins to get our drinks. Our food came out before our drinks. A little tealight to read our menu. Over priced westernised Thai food. 3 choices for coeliacs, one extremely bland. Now 95% of true Vietnamese food gluten free. I don't have any problems in Vietnam or other Vietnamese restaurants, I even have more choices at Thai restaurants. Don't think I'll be back Luke sorry.

The price is reasonable. The food is ok. The service is poor. The food comes out quickly. And that’s it. Nothing sparkled. Nothing shone. There was a lack of care, and the decor was tired and shabby. I liked the woks-as-lampshades, but the rest of it was old and worn and ready to be thrown away. It doesn’t sing the praises of either Luke Nguyen or the Brisbane casino. Such a shame. Look, my congee was fine. The laksa was good. The Peking duck wasn’t too bad. But none of it has a patch on the worst place in China or Singapore, and that is a shame.

  • Mighty Brown Mouse

For a celebrity chef's restaurant, I was very disappointed by my experience. Although service was immaculate, I found the sugar in the masaman lamb curry overpowering, hainanese chicken rice insipid, dumplings doughy and rather tasteless and a bowl of rice as side dish of poor quality. I felt the dishes overpriced considering the quality were made for western taste buds rather than an honest Asian fare.

Four of us dined here on a Friday afternoon, 3 of us had the special, salmon dish yet all our meals came out, one at a time, with a wait of 15+ minutes between the first meal set down and the last. Normally when a group goes out to eat they like to do so together. The salmon was overcooked and underwhelming. It was freezing in the restaurant and the waiters seemed to have no idea of what they were doing. Not somewhere I would recommend after that experience.

Very disappointed this time / we have been going along time / finding they are becoming very boring ! Recently went to the Fat Noodle Restaurant in the Brisbane Casino & had a lovely meal / special !!! Prawn & Bug very delicious !! atmosphere was Great / lots of people around / which is Great to see !! Great to see they are changing things up !! Recently went back to the Fat Noodle Restaurant / so much variety of different entrees & mains /thoroughly enjoyed!! Great Cocktails too!! Fantastic Staff too!!

The service and food were great. The seating (for 2) are very close together so could hear the next table talk ALL through our lunch, very annoying!! At checkout we had to wait for a staff member who then didn't take any notice of the line up and just served person who was behind us!! Sounds trivial but some people are just rude!!!

Vietnamese is one of my favourite cuisines and Fat Noodle has served consistently tasty food since I started going there years ago. The decor is modern but still distinctly eastern. Price of food is average but sometimes they have really good specials. Service depends on the individual .. I’ve encountered very nice staff and indifferent staff sometimes on the same night. I did get to meet Luke Nguyen during my last visit and he is lovely.

We were hungry, so ordered the Nem nuong, Chicken pad thai, Pepper beef & Hainan chicken. The Nem nuong was a refreshing vermicelli noodle salad - would have been more delicious with spring rolls for crunch; the pepper beef was insanely good; the pad thai tasted pretty standard; the Hainan chicken came with a spicy sauce & an extraordinary broth. We finished with doughnuts & pandan, and mango pudding which would bring me back anytime!

A bit disorganised- 1 main arrived before my glass of champagne even had - we sent it back (they were very quick to say we will just keep it warm for you), 2nd main arrived before our spring rolls (entree) when we asked to have things served in order we were told - that’s just the way it works in our Asian restaurant!!! Disappointing!

It's a bit of a struggle when you share a table with different types of foodie. Particularly if one is a clean eater and the other is completely opposite. Well, this is a perfect place for you since they serve a variety of menu. Service was fantastic, they keep you informed of the ”new normal” restrictions. I did not like most of the main dishes. It tasted like it was homemade, not restaurant standard! Enjoyed all the appetizers and desserts though, flavoursome!

The wait staff really need to be trained in their jobs much better as they were not very attentive even though it was not very busy. Have downgraded the rating from 4 to 3. Food was very good. I regularly try their special menus. everything was good but the tomyum soup was the worst I have had. It was too bland I couldn't taste anything, so I and my partner couldn't even eat the soup and noodle because it taste nothing. but the seafood was fresh. I complaned that to the female asian staff when I pay, she just said I have never try tomyum so I don't know how they taste like. so shame

Came here for the fame of the chef, but just got a lot of disappointment. I think it’s fair that the review is under 4 stars. Pricy food which does not worth it, basically the money we paid is for the deco and service of the restaurant. If you are Asian foodie, better try other places.

I read the negative reviews prior but didn’t think it could be that bad being in such an iconic building, but lo it was! Definitely take away standard food. We had the signature beef pho by Luke Nguyen yuck the noodles were soft and stewed, the meat was still clumped from defrosting in the tasteless broth. Expensive food for four people. Go elsewhere with solid good reviews.

Food was average at best. Dumplings served with dark soy sauce, calamari was pub standard frozen and had no seasoning. Basil chilli pork belly was also average. I’d expect more from a restaurant that has Luke Nguyen plastered all over the menu

the food here is delicious. there’s not too many vegetarian options but I tried the eggplant with rice and added tofu which was really good. it does get busy even on a weeknight so you may have to wait for a table. service is awesome and food comes out in good time. it’s a bit more on the pricey side but reasonable for the casino and atmosphere. would go again.

This is my 2nd time visiting this restaurant. Why? There's something in the soup, that Fat Pho soup. It's been calling me back just to fill a void it left the 1st time I visited. It's not a void because something is missing. It's a void when you try it once, the void will slowly grow after you left satisfied.

Great food, great ambiance! Perfect place to go with your family or friends. The prices I would say quite affordable for this kind of place. The service team is also very friendly. Would definitely love to visit again. Parking in the location or nearby is tough, I might suggest to take Uber or train instead.

Very disappointed with the entire experience. We visited this place for celebrating a milestone but repented the decision. Drinks order was forgotten and the waiters didn’t know what they were doing the whole time. Don’t go by the name of the establishment. You are better off dining elsewhere in the CBD.

Prices were good for what we ordered. I wanted to try the famous fat pho noodle soup everyone raves on about. I was highly disappointed though. Flavour wasn't there and it was quite bland. Meat was tender but it needed more flavour. Chargrilled pork and Kimchi salad was my fave.

  • Jenn CruznWant

Still a fan fave of this local Brisbane icon. Thanks Luke Nguyen for changing up the menu season to season ◡̈ still my fave place for pad see ew

The staffs here are very passionate and friendly. The atmosphere is good. Hygiene level is high. Some dishes are really amazing. Some other dishes are just normal. Waiting time is a bit of long but acceptable. Overall 4 stars. Definitely would love to come back again.

We had the Banquet, the food tasted good we had prawn, fish, beef but 2 courses was chicken and instead of getting one with pork. The chicken was dry. About the dessert I got disappointed cause it was not possible too switch it and I really don't like brulee.

  • JC Bee

I guess i was expecting too much. Ive had better pad thai, beef pho and crispy pork basil. The salt & pepper calamari and beef salad was a standout including their mango lemonade, ginger lemonade and lychee lemonade. Service was fast and ambiance is great.

  • Rose Liaw

The Pho is a total disappointment for a signature dish by Luke Nguyen. Laksa was ok. Mediocre food overall. Only consolation is the Vietnamese chicken salad ..refreshing. For the price & hype..The presentation of the food need a bit of attention …

The Singapore laksa is very tasty and filling at Fat Noodle Asian restaurant. The draft beer selection is somewhat predictable, but most can find one style that suits. The place can be quite busy on the weekends. We still received attentive service.

  • Daniel Miller

Stopped by to give it a try. Over all the food was good, the service decent, and the atmosphere was what you'd expect from any casino restaurant.

One of the most overpriced pieces of poo for Asian food. Presentation is great, taste is so bad. You are paying for the service and the atmosphere which is good.

Food is ok. But the bar seat they place me is not very comfortable. More like a work bench than a place to relax.

Dined here on Friday evening 3 January 2020, Food was great, drink service was non existent, wait staff very pleasant. Could have been a really nice night though our evening was totally ruined by the RUDE, yawning and dismissive Supervisor

  • John McGee

This was our first time and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We ordered two dishes. Pork pad see ew and Roti curry. The pad see ew was full of that smokey sweet flavour. It was cooked to perfection. The roti curry had spice and

Lower than I expected, the laska is just passed, not spicy enough, and less seafood taste than the laska I had in Singapore. they changed reciept for local, and the soup was too thick, not smoothy. But the seafood in the laska was very

The ala carte meals here are expensive. I recommend trying their Specials which represent good value. This Soft Shell Crab dish (left) is $15. # With Paul Chan

It is recommended that members who apply for the casino can enjoy high-value member meals here. There are certain drinks and certain wines in it, which are exclusive member prices. Overall, it is very comfortable to enjoy meals here.

  • Maria Wallace

A great lunch spot. Food comes out quickly and when ready. Be prepared for fresh & flavoursome food delivered in a traditional as-its-ready service. Repeat diner. If you have time & the appetite, go for the seasonal banquet for two.

  • James Rossetti

Nice atmosphere and generously portioned food. I had the Fat Pho. The beef broth was flavoursome, lite and aromatic. The beef, well cooked. Overall a nice, fresh, enjoyable Pho. Only drawback was that the noodles were over cooked.

  • Flordeliza Shone

I tried Fat Noodle a few times, the last one was in March for lobster noodle. Well I liked this dish, balanced flavors, well seasoned, the lobster was cooked perfectly. What did not make my experience better? The service..

  • Alec Collier

Really nice decor and easy for solo diners to sit separate to the main dining hall or at the bar. All the serving sizes are large and good value. The pad Thai and pork skewers were too much for me and I usually eat a lot.

  • Marron Australia

I enjoyed lobster and noodles which is special menu on March 2022. It was $35 quite nice taste I recommend that you should make a reservation, I came here at 6:30 on Tuesday. It was full, waited around 30min. …

The food was okey, very convenient price, good service and decent wine. I’d recommend to go during week days, Friday was pretty busy and you will be seating on the balcony. However, the balcony view is amazing!

Not authentic Vietnamese but good enough to eat in a large group. Pad Thai is good.

Conveniently located inside the Treasury Casino, the food and ambience at this restaurant is awesome and great value. The bar had great choice and cocktails. Will surely be back.

Love the food here! We've been here three times now and have never been disappointed. Setting is elegant, waiters friendly. Good cocktails at the bar while you wait for a table.

Fat Noodle is an all time fav of mine. I have never had a bad meal. Friendly service with quick kitchen time. My 3 go-tos: Singapore Laska Fried Tofu Duck pancakes

Always happy with their menu. Kind staff and amazing food. My favorite menu is Laksa Noodle. Booking might need for dinner on both weekdays and weekend.

  • Maria Thomas

I was here on Valentine’s Day, waited for almost 2 hours. It was busy, but despite all that, the food arrived time, the quality and taste was delicious.

Great pan Asian bistro, large serves, quality produce and well trained staff. Casinos know how to do Asian food, this one is a good one too.

  • Boon Hoe Chew

This is our 2nd time here for the two different Lobster noodles. We loved the food, and their food was well flavoured. Check out or photos.

Service - 5/5; very fast and attentive. We Sat outside and were worried we might get forgotten but the lovely young lady was great.

Absolutely delicious! My partner and I had the members meal which cost around $10. Value for money. Friendly staff. Quick service

Tastes are really nice. My host mother used to take me here ‘cuz it was her favorite Asian food restaurant. Nice memories for me.

  • Michelle L

the dish looks better than it tasted, the Pad Thai tasted the burning, the beef noodle soup and the pork skewer was disappointed

  • Jean Geisser

Sashimi was nice, green papaya salad not so good, mussels just ok nothing special, roast duck dry and the soup tasteless.
