I have moved to Five Dock about 6 months ago and I have been seeing them for couple of times. I have had NO LUCK with them. ( Please read Story 2) Storey 1: Yesterday afternoon I went to see them for empty my Dog's gland and she said that's fine they could do it for him . Then she said Is Casper only visiting our Vet as he hasn't done his C5 Vaccination and she said we can do it at the same time. I asked How much that would be and she said $210 . I said that's OK I will get it done in my previous Vet next time i go there.. Not to mention that ( Rooty hill Veterinary charge me $120 and that is including empty Glands). As soon as i said that she said I need to check something she went to the back, then she said actually we can not treat Casper today because he is not been Vaccinated and it's not good for your dog as we have other sick dog here . I can not believe 2 second ago when they wanted to charge me $210 + $35 for emptying gland, My dog health wasn't at risk now out of sudden they care about my dog. Also they have two different treatment room . So Casper wouldn't even be next to the other dogs. Story 2: Casper started licking his Paws and Butt a lot to the point that is all red . I took him to the Five Dock Veterinary and they said it might be infected put him on Antibiotic tablets. I have paid for tablets and consultation fee which was $80. they said to bring him back in a week time to look at him again. I took him there and she asked me how he is going ? I said he seems better, she checked him and said continue the tablets till end of week. then she charged me another $80 for consultation fee. I don't understand why She has to charge me again when it was just the post check up, when she could just asked me these questions over the phone. One week later he has started chewing his Paws and butt again, and they put him on Anxiety tablets and allergy tablets as obviously they are still not clear about what is wrong with him ..... They just putting him on a test. I have paid nearly $340 for their visits and tablets and Guess what He is still chewing his paws and licking his butt.

We chose Five Dock Veterinary Hospital when our 12 1/2 year old Vizla became ill very quickly. We were told that tests were needed and that she would stay overnight to test blood. We were quoted $800 for the stay and tests. Came to collect her two days later only to be told that the tests were inconclusive and that I had to take her straight away to an animal hospital in Ryde for more tests. Oh, and by the way, the bill was $1300! I was told that the results and X-rays had been sent already and they were expecting us. 2 hours later, the tests still hadn't come. I was sent home. All of the tests results came to nothing! My own vet - Village Vet Balmain took one look at her and operated immediately on the two gangrenous growths that were poisoning her whole body. Three days later, she is a changed dog. She is recovering and slowly getting back to health. Her survival had NOTHING to do with any treatment / advice from Five Dock Vet Hospital and would not recommend them.

BEYOND 5 STARS MY MALTESE TERRIER WENT MISSING 1AM SATURDAY NIGHT. AND WE WERE SO DEVASTED AND HEARTBROKEN AS WE LOOKED EVERYWHERE SEARCHING FOR HIM AS HE IS 19 YEARS OLD AND WE THOUGHT THE WORST.. WE STARTED PUTTING OUT FLYERS AROUND OUR AREA, AND PRAYING FOR HIS SAFETY. ON MONDAY I GOT A CALL AROUND 11AM FROM KATRINA TELLING ME THAT SHE HAD FOUND OUR PRINCE AND THAT HE WAS AT FIVE DOCK VET . SHE TOLD ME THAT HE WAS TRYING TO CROSS CANTERBURY ROAD IN PUNCHBOWL AND SHE AND HER DAUGHTER GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO STOP CARS FROM HITTING HIM AND PICKED HIM UP. THEY BOUGHT HIM TO FIVE DOCK VET HOSPITAL WHERE SHE WORKS, TO KEEP HIM SAFE UNTIL THE VET CHECK HIM OVER AND MADE SURE HE WAS NOT HURT. KATRINA TOOK GOOD CARE OF PRINCE, FED HIM, BATHED HIM, MADE SURE HE WAS COMFORTABLE AS IF HE WAS HER OWN AND FOR THAT I AM SO BLESS THAT THERE ARE STILL PEOPLE OUT THER THAT CARE. THANK YOU SO MUCH KATRINA. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTER FOR SAVING MY DOGS LIFE.

I have nothing but positive feedback for these guys! We are ever so thankful for them and looking after our two cats. Our little guy needed emergency surgery at just 13 weeks old and they instantly accommodated us and performed surgery straight away having been transferred from the animal hospital. The constant updates and genuine care factor blew us away. They would let us come see him every night he was there (after-hours) to make us feel better. He is so comfortable with them and he may even have them wrapped around his little paws hehe.. its so relieving having a vet who genuinely cares and loves your fur-babies as much as you do! We had a little hiccup with out 1.5 year old last week and again amazing treatment and sent us straight to the animal hospital! Thank you fivedock :)

I've been bringing my Labrador-Retriever here since she was a puppy to end of last year. The staff at Five Dock have always been helpful and happy when dealing with her considering she is quite energetic. When she was a puppy they recommended overnight care for diarrhoea for monitoring which is beyond the normal care. Now that I am raising a second puppy I've realised that the overnight care is probably the less stressful option than nursing a sick puppy back to health yourself. The reception staff are happy to answer questions and the VETs are very patient when it comes to answering questions. On several occasions the consulting VET has asked for a second opinion from Colin or another VET so that is reassuring. Again, lovely people and would definitely recommend.

This is a wonderful vet practice. All the staff are incredibly caring, professional and passionate about animals. We always felt assured knowing our dog was in their hands. Our girl was a bit of a frequent flyer, being a highly active breed. If we were walking past the vets she always got excited thinking that she was going to the vet and we would have to drag her away from the door. And this was even after she had some significant operations. She was attacked as a puppy and they saved her ear. But she clearly only felt positive things about being at the vets. We’ve since moved out of the area and years on we haven’t found a vet we like half as much. Thank you for the wonderful care you provided us. ❤️ Schnitzel’s mum

Not Recommended in serious injuries. One of the doctors there seemed inexperienced at all and wanted me to spend money! My dog got injured in his paw twisted his toe badly, brought him in. He didn't seem to be broken or fractured. After one of the "expert" doctors examined him and saw that he wasn't in much pain but still she couldn't assess the case and straight away said "Ah we'll have to put him on full anesthetic and do an X-Ray tomorrow" which will overall cost around $900 LOL. I got charged for these few words $90 Consultation fees. I definitely went somewhere else recommended more experienced and reliable, they said no need for X-ray ($500), rest for 2 weeks gave him some tablets. My dog is recovering well now.

Our German Shorthaired Pointer pretty much considers Five Dock Vet Hospital to be an extension of our household. Any time I walk her past, she tries to pull me in and that's a result of having been treated so kindly by the staff on every occasion that she has needed treatment. The vet doctors and nurses always follow up and give detailed reports on our dog's health and behaviour. They do everything at a fair price and occasionally waive charges for small items at times when regular visits are required. I think the world of them and they think the world of animals. In that regard, it is a perfect marriage.

If you're not wanting to get SCAM with prices, please STAY AWAY from this vet. Probably the worst experience any dog parents will ever go through just to get a recheck. Our dog experienced an ear infection two weeks ago. The vet booked in for a recheck without indicating or explaining that there will be a cost of the recheck. We are happy to pay for a recheck but the prices that they have charged for the recheck-consult for five minutes was on the extreme side at a cost of $75 just for a nurse to hold our dog and for the vet to check his ears.

Five Dock is the most beautiful and caring veterinary practice - I travelled from the other side of Sydney to get our very sick pup Pandora care here and would do it 100x over again. I only wish I knew about them sooner! Particular thank you to the practice manager Katrina who was incredibly warm and reassuring throughout. We were very nervous about Pandora and she kept us calm, brought us tea, talked us through all of our options, and was deeply kind to us and to Pandora. And thank you to Dr Shay for giving Pandora expert and gentle care.

I've been house and cat sitting for a friend and the cats needed their nails clipped. I couldn't bring them in myself as I don't drive so I was very pleased when Katrina and her vet nurse we're able to come to my friends apartment and do their nails at home. Both ladies were absolutely lovely and were happy to answer the few questions that I had about taking care of these cats. I highly recommend five dock vet as they really do care about pets.

I have been bringing 3 dogs to Five Dock vets for 17 years. I phoned today to make an appointment for my seriously ill 13 year old dog and I was told to take him to SASH. SASH told me to take him to my local vet. When I informed them of this they told me that they couldn't do anything because they don't have "24/7" care?!?! I'd suggest they don't have any care. 17 years!!!!!!

The staff at Five Dock vet are great. I recently visited when my cat had an accident. Even though my boy needed a referral he was lovingly cared for at Five Dock. The vet explained what needed to happen in detail and the staff were gentle and caring. They understood my anxiety and were able to reassure me about the treatment he needed. I’d highly recommend this vet hospital.

I've been bring my lovely dog there since 2018 and back then we got an amazing doctor helped him through every time. But from last year I saw some new faces and each of them are impatient, even injected wrong vaccination for my dog last year. All they want is quickly finish work and get the money from you.

We have been visiting Five Dock vet for decades. Have never been disappointed with their veterinary care - verbal or hands on that has been & continues to be provided for our pets. I would not hesitate to recommend the practice, its Management & Staff. They are all very caring & supportive.

After urine and blood tests, then a scan and samples to the lab, had no idea what two dark masses on dogs intestines were, but here's some tablets for a urinary infection. That will be $3000 and an extra $44 for the tablets. Now go see a specialist. A complete waste of time and money.
