I came in paranoid I had brought my wrong receipt. And was already in tears as I justly feel paranoid and I have never been treated anything less than human in pharmacies for this medication especially for my first time in a new one usually with my mother my white collar mother, but she is sick I had forced her to stay home lately and get well. Here they greeted me with an even faced tired or cultural or both smile they greeted my paranoid tears with even smiles like before and warm and kind dispensing of my medication... methadone and answered my paranoid question of when was the earliest I could come tomorrow... and both said "see you tomorrow anytime afternoon Ms v." I felt like crying for being treated like a human for the first time in a year. THIS PHARMACY is the ONLY pharmacy I will EVER attend in the future even for simple UTI meds. They are by far the best in the city so far. (Unless for methadone... New Day Pharmacy is just to far from my home but my favorite downtown by Far!!) Back to this one. No stigma. No judgment. Nothing. Yet in EVERY SHOPPERS DRUG MART IN THIS MOUNTAIN AREA PERHAPS EVEN OTHER JURISDICTIONS by staff and management alike, they'd create hostility seemingly to keep me from coming back even when from day 1 preemptively I came in tow (in my mind as I have been addicted and treated before) they always, ALWAYS created unnecessary imagined and u justified drama, self-created to me environments where I felt humiliation negative attention stigma and judgement.

One of the worst locations... mainly due to their cashiers and their produce that looks like I will be lucky to get one day out of it, before it will go bad. Why sell beer/wine, if your cashiers CANNOT SELL IT?! This has happened a few times, where I have a few items and my hub wants a few beers while watching his sports. I am forced to stand in a certain line, behind other shoppers with a cart FULL, just to buy alcohol?! Why don't you stop selling it, since you do not know what you are doing and/or don't have the legal aged cashiers to ring you thru. I am considered a "senior" and have twice been asked for ID while trying to purchase a bottle of wine and a few beers... LOL! Also, double check, triple check what the cashiers are ringing thru... they either ring it thru twice or the priced item scans for more. Get your act together... terrible store, this location!!!

Im a 36 year old man with a full beard who works at the hospital. Recently my car was broken into and along with it all but my work identification on me. I go to get a few items at food basics and my regular 6 pack of beer. Which since theyve started serving has been a once a week thing. Today an employee i havent seen asks for i.d. i try to explain my current situation and she refuses to serve me. I show my hospital i.d. no dice. I even asked to speak with a manager and offer to show my i.d. via email since i had a copy....still no luck. After working 12hrs its sad your staff cant use logic. First time ive ever even been asked for i.d. there. Also 36 in a month. Funniest part was she said her daughter works in a hospital i asked how old is she and she said 22 lollllll

Great customer service. I purchased a large package of croissants from this store recently I tried one when I got home and it didn't taste right. So I returned the following day with my receipt to exchange it for a fresh pack. Croissants is a staple for my weekly grocery shopping. The employee who helped me was very helpful and polite. It was a fast and easy exchange. I'm certain they throw out the " bad " package of croissants I signed the return receipt. And paid for more groceries I away I went. I've been shopping at this particular Food Basics for one year now.

Horrible costumer service....on Friday 15th went to the store pharmacy I was denied entrance even though it was for a critical medication that my little son has to have. I been in the store in the past weeks picking up medication with no problems....but it seems that the store lack of consistency in the way they manage the entry to a sensitive site (pharmacy) bad costumer service...I may have to get my family prescriptions from other pharmacy.

This store is one of the biggest ones I've been in around my travels in Hamilton. That's a good thing in that they have more products to offer customers to purchase than the smaller ones. In the few times I have visited It's not too busy either. It's right beside Canadian Tire which makes this convenient for people that need things other than groceries, although in store shopping is not available right now under current Covid restrictions.

Normaĺly I would say great but the customers are a mess. I have people brushing my shoulder as they pass both in the right direction and in the wrong. I get people dont listen as I have been to other stores but that store is brutal. Its just nasty. Wont be back. considering calling on it. I like the workers and i feel bad but management is going to have to step up. Brutal.

Food Basics has done it again. Excellent, beautiful, well stocked store with plenty of specials at amazing prices. Produce and meat sections are really beautiful. Everything is fabulous. Love your courteous friendly staff with plenty of spacious shopping and parking. Thank you so very much for another great shopping experience.

Strictly commenting on the website. I've tried multiple times to maneuver around the website to no avail as it refuses to allow me to set location and searching for a particular item is impossible at best. No information on curbside pickup or delivery could be found and needs a lot of improvement to be useful., if used at all.

My experience at Food Basics was a great one. There were a variety of food items from the Caribbean that are not easily accessible in other stores. I was blown away with the prices on some items (affordable). Keep up the good work especially in this economy. I would certainly recommend others to visit and compare prices.

We have had a pleasant experience with this Food Basics. This is a typical grocery store with all regular features. The price is very reasonable compared to other chain stores. The staffs were nice and friendly. We like the produce of this grocery store most. They are very fresh. I would definitely recommend this place.

Got a roasted chicken for dinner and on a halfway eating i felt meat is not cooked fully, almost raw meat. Chicken wings were just raw like a sashimi and could see red meat on it. This is serious health safety issue!! Anyone likes chicken, please never get chicken from here. Waste of $ + serious health concern

I honestly have no problems with anyone there, always a fabulous place to shop, but Caleb always greets me with a smile at the self check out, always offering his assistance. Such a friendly guy! as a senior, with a disability i appreciate the store opening up a little earlier. The employees wear a mask and limit food handling! They are clean. The product selection is very limited, but the basics are there. I find their prices very reasonable. Thank you

Really good prices, friendly staff and if you need any help there's always somebody there. Be sure you bring your own bags though, they have decided not to have bags for you to use so you can buy them at the store but bring them with you when you go shopping.

I'm glad the metro is gone...never shopped there, too expensive. Love this Food Basics. This particular location is super clean, produce is ALWAYS available and fresh! The are competing hard with the Tony's No Frills (which is not a good shopping location!)

Very well stocked. Honestly tired of seeing spoiled Strawberries everywhere I go. Didn't end up picking those up from there, but they aren't the only place with piles of bad Strawberries. Great selection of different ethnic ingredients. Cashier was nice.

Finally I have found a place to buy Corn maize meal flour to make my Kenyan cuisine called Ugali which is basically an African Cake in lay man language. The products here are fresh. Especially strawberries and other vegan and vegetarian supplies

The prices are not exactly LOW but you can save good money on good brands if you shop smart and only buy sale items and the awesome low costing selection products. The pharmacy is full of helpful friendly supportive wonderful people.

This place has a wide variety of products. They have a wider range of products then No Frills across the road. This includes a deli section as well as an alcohol section. The store is new and therefore clean and in good condition.

I appreciate the couple of people here who go out of their way to build relationships with the customers. Self checkout makes things quick and easy. The one interaction I've had with the manager was pleasant. No complaints

This is the best Food Basics I've ever shopped at. The produce is always fresh and there's plenty of selection. They also have wine and beer available for sale. It's a full service grocery store with discounted prices.

It has been a long time since I came to this store since it is used to be Metro then before it was the Barn. Layout is different of course. Prices are comparable and even unbeatable to other competitors.

I like food basics for fresh produce and good prices on some products. Store is clean and staff is helpful. We also love the cute carts for kids, it makes it easier for me to shop with my lil baby.

The location is convenient with ample parking. Staff are friendly and helpful with locating products. They have everything that i am looking for with the exception of certain brands of yoghurt.

I usually come here. But this time I came to pick up a bag of milk and when I got home to use it, the milk was literally expired and had a bunch of clumps… why are you selling expired milk.

Located in the worst mall in the city, this Food Basics has little to offer. You would be better off to go to the one on Upper James which has a far better selection and friendlier staff.
