People should never bring their babies to Garza clinic unless if their pets can speak. My pet was adopted at 8 weeks and we have 13 years of his yearly vet records. He has never been sick all his life. He was completely healthy in April on his yearly check up. But during his scheduled teeth cleaning last week, our vet noticed a mild heart murmur that wasn’t there in April and so for his safety, they didn’t want to perform the teeth cleaning prior to addressing the heart murmur. Since my vet doesn’t have the equipment to do X-rays, they referred us Garza as one of options. Because they are a walk-in clinic, we rushed him there a couple days after for X-rays. We got there at 7:30am and were first to arrive, they opened at 8am, we were the first pt but doctor showed up at 9:30am in the room. My dog was completely happy while we were waiting for this long and we have a video of him prior to X-rays. Then Garza technicians took him back and brought him back after 30min in a horrid condition. He was in an extremely tight muzzle, it seemed like he struggled to breathe, he had pooped and peed himself and was terrified, there was traces of blood in the crease of his snout that was clearly wiped off in the back and was bruised. The technician looked in distress and was holding clean unused wet wipes when she brought him back to the room and was pretending that she is trying to wipe his snout and it’s clean. My daughter and I were in shock and I asked,”what happened?! He looks like he was hit in the mouth or fell on his face!” It seemed like he was bleeding back there and I could see the traces of wiped up blood. Technician said,”no he wasn’t bleeding, we had to restrain him and fight him hard and he pooped and peed himself from pressure!” Then she took off the tight muzzle, my dog was shaking so hard, I could hardly hold myself from crying. We were there to evaluate a heart murmur on a senior dog which should be handled with extreme care to not cause stress. They could have caused my poor dog to have a heart attack by the way he was man-handled in the back. My dog is super friendly and is only 6 pounds, there was no need for all the abuse to restrain him. This is animal cruelty. We had to rush him back to our own vet the same day to make sure he is okay. And then after calling so many times for our X-rays and records, they weren’t providing us with them so that we can continue to his care elsewhere. Then we decided to reach out to the office manager, who also happens to be the owner, to voice our concerns. She was beyond rude and disrespectful. Rather than addressing the issue, she said, “you don’t deserve to be pet owners because your pet is sick!” and was resisting to provide us with our records. We then emailed a written request for our records. After this I called my vet and told them everything that had happened and they were very apologetic for what happened to us at Garza. Obviously this office manager has no class or manner and is only trained to twist every bad review to make it sound like the client or the pet is at fault, only because she is the owner, rather than being sorry and trying to correct and improve their business so the incidents don’t happen again to others, she attacks the clients and the pets so that she can continue to her business. To Garza this office manager, this is just a business and she is a very mean hearted person who should not be in healthcare or animal care. I’m in healthcare myself and I would NEVER treat a patient this way but since these helpless animals are just a dollar sign to her, she will always reply in this manner. She is accusing us of neglect without even knowing us, while we have records, pictures and proof of everything we say and she says that she “feels sorry for my pet because I’m the pet owner!” Well I must say that I will defend my pet babies’ rights and I will not allow anyone to abuse him. I’m also in the process of filing a complaint with TX State Board of Veterinary.

BEWARE SPAY AND NEUTER PATIENTS We had an appointment to spay my dog, but instead she spent all day in a kennel and was not attended. Apparently this vet tries to book as many dogs as possible without really knowing when they'll be going under the knife. They called me at 4pm saying my dog hadn't gone under surgery yet but would have to stay overnight so she could be done first thing in the morning. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional considering she was there to check in before opening time at 8am. I also called around 1pm to check on her status and they lied to me and told me she was almost done and I'd get a call when she was out of surgery. My boyfriend and I took off work for this. We were there all morning filling out paperwork and waiting for the doctor to see her. What kind of business practice is it to skip around your patients instead of first come first serve? And if you are going to practice this way you should disclose this information to your patients before even charging them letting them know that their dog might not be attended that same day. When we went to go get her I asked for a refund since nothing was done and I was absolutely not going to leave her overnight. It is my birthday today and I want my baby home. The receptionist didnt even want to give me a full refund because of medication that was given to prep her and also for the consultation before surgery. Except there was no surgery, so why should I be charged for something that was their fault. I scheduled my baby to be spayed TODAY and you charged me TODAY, almost $250 for a 14lb dog. So why does she have to spend the night and go through all this mess? Best believe I got my refund but after much back and forth. It's just not worth it. Just go somewhere else if you really care about how your dog is treated.

I'm very disappointed with my experience trying to get my dog to be seen. I had called this week to ask about the possibility of an appointment. I was told the vet has visits starting at 2:30pm on Friday afternoon. I went on Friday at 2:35pm to be turned away by the front desk because the doctor was booked with procedures for the remaining of the day. During the 3-4 minutes there, I saw people without masks entering the facility. I was told to call back and that it would be best to come back at opening time on Saturday morning. Today I was there at 8:05am. Parking lot was almost full, 20-30 people in line waiting for the main door to open. No social distancing enforced. No luck getting my dog to be seen without having to wait outside for a while. We are in the middle of a pandemic. The way this clinic is operating is unacceptable. Allow people to make appointments so that you don't turn the customer away and people don't have to wait for at least an hour outside. My family entrusted my dog's care with Garza veterinary, you guys do a great job and have reasonable prices, but due to the lack of professionalism and operations during covid, I definitely will not be coming back.

The place was clean and we didn’t have to wait for too long. Front desk personnel is helpful and friendly. Technician was friendly and very patient with Nico this morning. Chose this place because of the good reviews. When Veterinarian Garza makes his entrance to the exam room doesn’t even try to warm up to my puppy. He examined his leg because he was limping the day before and this morning, Nico did great and Veterinarian Garza was gentle with his paw. I’m glad everything was okay with his leg I just wanted that peace of mind. Nico is 3 months old an Alaskan Klee Kai about 10 inch height. Veterinarian Garza tried to show me his over bite when Nico was already stressed out and Nico got upset and barked at Veterinarian Garza. Veterinarian Garza said and I quote “I don’t like dogs like that” and turned away. I would think that someone that works with dogs everyday would be more patient and would try to warm up with the dog (pet) before examination. I also, read another review similar to mine. And I’m sorry for that pet. Nico is in training classes and he’s doing great! Best regards and wishes to this practice!

Now with that out the way let dive into the review.... over some of the reviews and having some experience with there clinic i hope this comment is helpful to those who view this place. Garza is a pretty nice person clearly with a passion but not a lot of time so it makes it a little difficult to treat each patient with the care they need it seems as you can see with the complaints, with that it would be better if yall had internships, it might help patient flow with the ability to actually accumulate a proper relationship and regimen with each patient also giving the perspective from many minds not just one dr. Hopefully that advice is helpful but other then that me and my family had a nice experience and by family im also counting are animals. Hopefully yall have a great experience as well!!!. And thank you for reading this review it means a lot

today is Saturday and I just got through picking up Bonita my baby girl from her surgery performed last night by dr. Juan Garza which is Garza veterinary clinic on Shepherd and I am just so satisfied been satisfied with his great job performance on the way he handles my baby's for many years I've been taking my fur babies to him and always come out of their satisfied although I know that they are some clients that put bad reviews but I mean it is worth the wait and the price is worth it unless you have hundreds and thousands of dollars to spend well suggest you would take your pet somewhere where else that is up to you that's your prerogative but personally I just want to give thanks to the staff in the front and to the technicians in the back and especially to dr. Juan Garza for always coming through for my baby for babiesGod bless him and give him any more years so that he can perform his great job on our furbabies love you all have a safe and a blessed

lets start with pros: the staff is great. really pleasant people. the dr is a good guy and does his best to work with each situation. there are a couple of people that really stand out to me as being super nice people, couple of the vet techs, the guy upfront and the doctor. probably because i see th most. the clinic is super clean. The only con i see is the waiting period when they are consumed by clients. whem it is packed theres a good hour wait in the car alone, them a good wait while roomed. other than that thia clinic is pretty fair. i am not sure it is a low cost clinic but according to the low pricing i can assume. the visit payment is extremely fair, although some medications can be pricely one can always have it filled elsewhere.. in all other than the wait time sometimes this clinic receives a 5 star for pleasant staff, fair pricing, and cleanliness. i apologize for any typos, the keys on my cell phone are too tiny for my big thumbs.

Dr. Garza is an EXCELLENT vet and, if I was just rating him, he would get 6 stars. He is very nice, he really cares about your pets, he's very competent, knows what he's doing, and his prices are very reasonable. My girlfriend's family has been going to him for years, brought me to him a couple years ago, and I could not recommend him more. Unfortunately, I have never come here and not had some kind of issue with the front desk. Sometimes it's a communication issue inside their team, sometimes the person there just isn't competent, sometimes I swear they make up problems to make their day more interesting. The guy I think is his dedicated receptionist is the worst of all. It seems like he arbitrarily decides he likes or doesn't like the customers, then makes their lives difficult accordingly. It's so frustrating! You won't worry about your pet's health if you bring them here, but your own blood pressure will definitely rise.

What a joke! I drove 40 mins from Sugar Land to see Dr. Garza for a consultation for my dog's two dental fistulas. Once I arrived there I was told it would be a 2-3 hr wait which I expected. One of the front desk girls could have had a better attitude. When I finally saw Dr. Garza he barely said anything useful. He pretty much put his hands in the air and said I'm not even sure if I can do the surgery with my dog's age and specific condition. They charged me $25 on top of all this for only a 5 MINUTE exam appointment. The estimate they gave me for a procedure he said he probably can't even do would be $750. I would never risk my dog's life in this vet's hands after he truthfully said it's an evasive procedure which he's not confident about doing. I will not be coming here again and nor will I be recommending family or friends. Waste of time and completely disappointed.

Their 6 mos supply of Trifexis is $174 when it is currently priced at $127 at other vets and major retail stores for 40.1-60 lbs (blue box). Beware of med pricing. Long wait time around 10+ AM walk in. They lack empathy when it comes to caring for your pets. Any vet can buy/own a hematology analyzer to quickly share the blood work analysis at ~$180 a pop but a good vet clinic is able to ask relevant questions from the owner, diagnose and prescribe based off his or her experience before going straight to asking for a blood work. I even volunteered and shared with the doctor and staff all the past historical diagnosis by my previous vets to help them with their assessment but they were still oblivious. If they spend as much time and resource monitoring and nurturing their reviews as they do with their clinic, their vet service would probably improve.

Best Vet I have ever been to and worth the wait when they are super busy. To the lady who complained about waiting more than 2 1/2 hours..you might have been there on a busy day but take into consideration that he is an excellent Vet and that is why he stays so busy. They do not offer making appointments because very few people keep them so it it first come, first serve. I have seen people walking in after 5 pm and he stays late to see all his patients. His prices are super reasonable and the staff makes it a point to let you know what the current charges are throughout the visit, other vets do not do that! I drive in from Cypress just to see him and there are plenty of Vet offices on my way in but I refuse to pay three times more for services and medication. I highly recommend Dr Garza!!!!

This place was the best!!! Even though we read a few negative reviews, we decided to try it because it was closer than the vet we used to go to before. Today we took our pet, cookie, for the first time to Dr. Garza Clinic, and everyone was very friendly, receptionist, techs, and doctors. Both, the techs and the doctor, took the time to answer all our questions. We didn't feel like we were being rushed to leave the room. Honestly, We were a little concerned about the wait time since we were a walk in, but they were organized in the way they handled walk ins, and we didn't have to wait for too long. And after the experience we had today, we wouldn't mind waiting longer. Our pets are truly their passion, so we give them 5+ stars. Thank you Doctors and staff.

I had sent my girlfriend with my cat here because my cat(meow meow) was drooling and not being her normal self. i was recommended here by a friend saying the doctor Garza was a nice doctor but once my cat and girlfriend were inside I was told that the doctor shook the carrier and slapped the carrier aggressively while my cat was inside and in PAIN. Now my cat is aggressive towards stranger I understand that but to act so unprofessional towards a pet and call my cat a “STUPID CAT” in front of her owner. Why call your self a veterinarian doctor if you get mad at a sick cat being scared and just naturally defending her self from a stranger. I wouldn’t recommend people taking their loved pets here very unprofessional

I've been coming here for years. No complaints towards the doctor at all he is awesome, the problem is trying to get your pet seen by him. The place is always packed, barely any point of signing in cause you'll be waiting for hours. There needs to be a better scheduling system or better yet CREATE A SCHEDULING SYSTEM, because they encourage that scheduling isn't needed because you can easily walk in with your pet. I signed my dog in at 10:10 A.M. today for an ear infection that I had been trying to get cured for a while now only to wait about 4 hours because they were seeing other pets that had came in after me because their services were gonna be quicker. Truly disappointed, I left before they even called me.

Dr. Garza and his staff are professional, friendly and the office is new and always very clean! I have to say that what I have learned in conversation with Dr.Garza is that he understands that caring for animals is expensive and he doesn’t see a need for unnecessary excess. He wants to see animals cared for and he sincerely does his best to keep prices at the lowest possible level to make caring for animals accessible to everyone. The heart of Garza Veterinary Clinic, is with the well-being of animals not the almighty dollar. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Not only will your furry family members be in loving and knowledgeable hands, they will not rake you over the coals when it comes time to pay.

Very glad to have found this affordable walk in vet clinic in the North side. Saved our boy's life who was in need of an emergency surgery. Other affordable vets were not able to perform the surgery and Blue Pearl was too expensive and we were running out of time but Dr. Garza made it happen at a reasonable price, about a 3rd of BP quote. The facility is very clean and the staff was very caring. Because it is a walk in clinic, you may have to wait a while which we averaged about 1-1.5hrs but they move efficiently. They do basic exams to surgeries and dental work and I can understand why so many pet owners come here. Thank you Garza clinic!

We took our new pup Easy to Garza Saturday . Though it was very busy, which is a good thing in my opinion. The staff was very nice and efficient. The vet text was very kind and knowledgeable, I'm not sure but I think she was Dr. Garaz's daughter. Dr. Garza was Great, he explained everything in detail about what was going on with our boy and the medication he would be on. He even cracked a joke or 2 witch made us feel more comfortable. The office front and back was very clean. The staff was professional and the prices were affordable. We have another appointment in 2 weeks. Easy is doing great thanks to Garza Veterinary Clinic.

Dr. Garza cares about your animal as well as you. He will do what can be done for your baby and almost always at a much cheaper price than the competition. Dr. Garza has a ton of experience, he has been my vet for over 25 years! He has great concern for whatever situation that you bring in. He will also be very upfront and honest with you. Know you are getting years of experience and expertise, if he suggests something, acknowledge that there is a lot of experience behind that suggestion. Listen to the recommendations and trust him. There is a reason why his practice is as busy as it is.

The service at this place truly sucks. It was my first time going to this place, and I was told they weren’t accepting walk-in. I’m guessing they must have a specific day to accept new patients, but after reading the negative reviews and the responses from the owner, I believe that I dodged a bullet. ******************* Update: Of course, this Bertha character is a true space cadet. She is a bad image for this business. Every negative review this business gets its space cadet Bertha to the rescue. I really think garza would be better without her.

First time visiting this clinic. It was very busy, but I had a great customer service. Everyone at the desk was nice and helpful. I had to visit them because my cat hasn't been able to pee, went afraid thinking the worse. The Dr is great, he may be very straight up with you about your pets health but is a good thing. The more information and the more he explains things is better. The nurses are wonderful, they go over with you every detail about what your pet will be going through. Sounds like my cat is going to be ok. He's going home soon

Wow i was considering bringing my puppy her but after carefully reading the reviews i have reconsidered. Just an FYI...(if you want to keep business and loyal patients don't make rude sarcastic, unprofessional responses to your loyal patients) This is something every practice manager should now. You do not go in detail about your patient visit on a review. You say your staff would never be rude ha ha. Go back and carefully review your responses. You must be the doctors relative for him to allow you to talk to his patients owners this way.

There is always room for improvement. I would love to share what the other vet did to save my dog. Garza has all the updated equipment which is maybe why the prices are so high. My dog had a cbc, xray, and heartworm test from Garza and 2 shots for $398.00. I called to get a price for an iv bag and the upcharged price is what triggered me to comment. 75.00 for one bag is almost 4x's what I paid for 3 including accessories from another reccomended vet that I went to for a second opinion. Its been a week and my dog is doing great....

I can’t recommend this clinic. It’s cheap, and sometimes that’s alright, but here it’s your typical get what you pay for. Dr. Garza seems professional and is helpful, however treatment options are severely limited as with all standard vet care. Research Holistic Veterinary care, there’s so much that can be done for your loved ones ailments without the toxic buildup of pharmaceutical medications. Also, I Highly recommend pet insurance! It’s affordable and helps you visit higher quality/charging veterinary clinics.

The staff is friendly but they never answer their phones. No appointments necessary but the wait time is long. We got there 30m after they opened but had to wait almost 3hours. The room we were put into looked like someone tried to clean it was there were smudges all over the floor and it smelled like wet dog that had been outside after the rain and chemicals. It made my stomach turn but if you're in a tight spot and need to take your pet in this is the place to be. The prices are also very affordable.

Everybody was so nice from Dr Garza himself to the front staff!! Even the clients were nice and talkative. Good vibes in all. Appreciate that they have movies playing while waiting. The biggest thing to me at vet clinics is the cleanliness and it’s super clean here and literally no animal smell!! Will make them my vet clinic from now on. They are also open on Saturday huge plus for those who work during the week…but get there early!! Plenty of parking. I highly recommend this vet clinic.

I just started bringing my puppy here, the staff is always nice. But today Their hours online say they open at 8 am and we’ve been waiting for about 45 minutes now and there isn’t anyone in the parking lots or doesn’t look like they are going to open anytime soon. If they’re closed or are planning to open late they should leave signs so people know. Pets needs to be seen. I’m just so disappointed because I don’t always get the time to bring my pups and the day I do this happens.

If I could give 10 stars I would ! Dr Garza has been our preferred vet for the last couple of years and I can't imagine ever taking my pets elsewhere . The moment the pet enters the room they're cared for ad if it were their own pets . They listen to everything you have to say and definitely don't shut you down as other vets would , I recommend him to anyone looking for a affordable and responsible vet . Not only that their employees are very informative and very helpful !

Dr. Garza is a caring and very knowledgeable vet. I have been going to him for years. He is so good that his practice has grown to the point that waiting to be seen has gotten out of control. Although I regret my decision to look for vetonary care elsewhere for this reason....i will miss Dr. Garza and his clinic. Well...just couldn't do it! Dr. Garza is so caring and knowledgeable that I am back to see him again. Can not bring myself to bring my fur baby to anyone else!

I had a terrific visit with this clinic today. They were so friendly and really took the time to listen to me. The wait for it being a walk-in clinic was definitely worth it. My dog was treated with care, and all of the staff took the time to explain everything I needed to know. I will be taking both of my dogs here going forward. Their prices are extremely reasonable in comparison with other vets I have been to recently. The facility is also very nice and modern.

Took my boy Nipsey here for a leg xray, full torn acl The doctor was very nice, caring and informative. My first time here on referral from Petcare Express and the wait was long, 4 hours in and out. I arrived at 8 when they open and so many people were already there...you could try arriving around 10-11 or later for less of a wait but I'm not complaining, I'm patient. The prices are very reasonable and the staff very nice. I would recommend.

The price for services is affordable but most importantly the service is amazing. the staff is helpful and provides great customer service. Dr. Garza has always been able to assess the probable cause of illness and make the decisions on the types of testing necessary to improve the health of my dogs. Took baby Zeus to get his shots and tail docked. The staff there are very courteous and informative. Other guests there with there pets were very nice as well with the exception of a couple of pets there and owners who could not handle there pets from being very difficult which immediately had other guests/patients there in a nervous uproar. I plan on using this clinic for all his needs. The place is very clean but very hot inside FYI.

After having such a horrible experience at Vergi Vet Clinic, we came down here to Garza vet and wow what a difference! Dr Garza was so kind and I think this will be my permanent Vet. I came from an emergency vet to get X-rays and could not afford it and found Dr Garza. He literally did that at fraction of the cost along with meds and food to send home. Very honest and his veterinan assistant was the best! They tell you over the phone to come in until 10 am on Saturdays because they close at 12 and they will see you, but then stopped taking people by 9:30 when I got there, even though I drove in because they said I could! I confirmed this over the phone with them on more than one occasion all week because I am only available on Saturdays. False advertising and outright lying on the phone

I have 6 dogs (4 Pomeranians and 2 Frenchies) and we like to come here. There is a bit of a wait time as there are two lines, one for shots and one for consultations. We have been going to Garza Vet Clinic for almost 5 years and we love it. We drive about 30 minutes to get there to and from, but wouldn't change it. The staff is always friendly and remember us and my babies. We have had all four of our pit bulls ears cropped there and they all healed great and were treated amazingly. We always recommend them to our friends and family.

Dr. Garza and ALL the staff are the BEST! Dr. Garza loves the animals as if they were his own. I drive almost an hour to bring my dogs to him. I won't go anywhere else ever again! The office is clean and smells very sanitary. The staff is very kind, compassionate and the customer service is top notch. The prices are reasonable too. Kudos to Dr Garza and ALL his staff!

The only reason I'm not giving this a 5-star is because I waited from 8:30am-12pm to have my dog get checked for her swollen eye after an accident. There were people arriving after me and leaving before my dog even got checked. Despite the very long wait I was pleased with Rachel's customer service. She's so nice and answered all of my questions. Thank you so much!!

I love that my original vet referred this clinic for my bully ear cropping. The way they handled my baby was phenomenal. They will care for you fur baby like they are their own. I love the straight forward honesty all the employees give you. Also, the customer service is EXELLENT. I would recommend this clinic to anyone! My baby looking like a beast now

First time I brought my two kittens in, they were very friendly and the medicine they gave us helped them recover. However, when I tried to bring them in around 11:30 on a Saturday, I was told that they took their last customer at 11. I understand weekends are busy, but how are you gonna stop taking customers 2 hours before closing time? Very disappointed.

I have been coming to Dr. Garza for over ten years and at this point… he is a great doctor but HORRIBLE await times, HORRIBLE BEDSIDE manner, takes absolutely no time with the patient. I felt that the situation with my pet and there services could have been handled way better. No calls no heads up no emails nothing stating that the shots for your pet is up. So when u go in for there heartworm pill. You not getting it. So people yalk that go there gotta be on top of everything. Garza is not gonna inform you keep that in mind.

I love this place. I have to say Dr. Garza is the best. He cares for his fur clients but honestly he treats them like his own. I drive 30-40min to get to this place and I dont mind it at all. Dr. Juan Carlos Garza is an amazing doctor who truly is attentive and caring for the animals that are brought in. The wait time here is quite a bit, up to almost 4 hours, but the prices and the care given is really worth it. There's no other vet I'd rather attend than this place.
