Came to this place looking for a drink. Was a little put off by the cellsr smell but was very pleasantly surprised by the high serviceminded guy taking my drink order. Imagine the expertise of a sommelier at a wine tasting, but dress him up in a hoodie and baggie jeans. He was very informative as he made my drink by the table, very informative as he told me the story of thr very kind of absinthe I had chosen as he created it thr traditional way with thr sugar cube and special spoon. All this in English, which was highly apriciated. The local is furnished with a very particular style, just my kind of jazz, lots and lots of trivia trophies and trinkets. Like a rock bar. The down side of the local is that it's located in an old cellar, damp air and at its deepest part i found ot hard to breath. But they make it very clear as you make your way down there that the air will be dank and with that certain old basement smell. Over all, I enjoyed my visit and I will be visiting again the next time I arrive in Prague.

I went there after watching a youtube video from Real prague guides. I understood that the host "valery" didn't understand anything about absinth. The waiters take the time to help you choose. He helped me to find the best absinth for my taste. And it was good about it. I think this help is worth the price. Then, they come to your table by pushing a tray on wheels. They don't pressure you to order something expensive. They tell to check the prices. Then, you can take the time to enjoy your spirit and they even bring you a water bottle if you ask for it. I was happy because my french grandfather who passed away told me about the Absinthe. He used to drink it even if it was prohibited. I understand now as a french that it is a national treasure. We don't need to drink Gin, or whisky. . . We have a strong alcohool at home in France.

We loved this place!! I went here with my boyfriend after we realised how big of a thing absinthe is in Prague. We were already blown away just by looking at the bar from the outside (it's shrouded in green light and the atmosphere is very eerie) Walking inside, you find yourself in a shop through wich you can walk and then walk downstairs, where you find the actual bar (which is great!) Seeing as I had never tried absinthe before, I was kind of overwhelmed with the large selection. The bartender was very kind to explain everything to us in detail. Thanks for that! The atmosphere in the bar was eerie, intimate and calm. All in all, I was blown away and would definitely come here again and recommend this place!

Really great little place for anyone wanting absinthe not just as a novelty. Staff knowledgeable and gave good recommendations according to our preferences. Tried a Czech green non-macerated and white Swiss absinthe. Prepared French style for us at the table and both excellent flavours. Shop has great range and good to go to if want to discuss with someone who knows what they're talking about though bit expensive compared to online for same products. Bar prices may appear high but very reasonable for the quality we had and would definitely go again. The decor is another fantastic feature with fantasy murals, atmospheric lighting and trinkets everywhere. A truly excellent drinking experience.

Full of character - however we made a rookie tourist error of allowing the server to suggest which absinthe to try and OF COURSE they offer the most expensive. So caught up in the experience we paid for the two most expensive which totalled £51.53 or approximately 1500Kč, and the drink was pretty disgusting. Be cautious of the prices. The server was polite and gave us plenty of information, he even tried to adjust one of the drinks to try to make it taste better (but of course charged extra for this). I think there are probably better places in Prague to try Absinthe and maybe they wont take advantage. But the place inside is interesting to see.

Absolutely surrealistic and low-lit bar with tons of different Absinthe worth a visit when you're kind of addicted to the "green fairy" or just curious about this very special liquor and its different types of preparation. The service is extraordinary and while preparing your order you'll get a brief story of Absinthe history and the different types. The price range differs on what you want to spend on the experience, starting at about 250 up to 1500 CZK and more (approx. 10 to 60 EUR) per drink. Don't be scared by the pricing, it's absolutely worth it. And keep in mind that a good cocktail is the same price range, depending on what you order.

It was an amazing absinth experience! Highly recommended. The bar looks a little bit weird, but do not be scared. Let’s have a seat and enjoy the atmosphere and drink. They have got various types of absinth. If you do not know which one you want, just ask the friendly and knowledgeable staff. The service was very fast and pleasant. We were taught how to make a proper drink. We wanted to try one of the best absinths. Thomas recommended us two Switzerland absinths: Clandestine 53% and 72% Capricicuse. He did the process of making the drinks in front of us. Both drinks were absolutely amazing and tasty. A worthwhile experience you must try!

The atmosphere and decor in this place was amazing but that's where the positive things stop. The bar is located downstairs in the cellar and the smell is overwhelmingly strong to the point we couldn't breathe. I've never tried Absinthe again in my life so I don't know how it's supposed to taste but the glass we ordered with my friend tasted like watered down ouzo and we didn't enjoy it. Also it costed 18€ for one single glass of absinthe. Super expensive. I only gave this place 2 stars because the decor is very unique.

Wacky and wonderful and weird all at w-once (I had to). I’m sure it’s a tourist draw and it certainly wasn’t cheap but that’s ok, it was well worth it. Visiting in winter, I had the place to myself and the bartender / server walked me through all sorts of absinth information before I landed on a drink. My first time drinking it and certainly a unique experience even if it isn’t going to be my go to drink in the future. Other than the prices, it’s a really great price and certainly a fun stop for one drink to try the place, and the Absinth, out.

Very cool bar! It was my first absinthe experience and it was excellent. We had tried a very interesting absinthe ceremony which was provided by a professional barman. During the ceremony a barman was telling us different facts about those kinds of absinthe we had chosen by his advice. We took three cocktails from different kinds of absinthe. The atmosphere in a bar is very mysterious and unusual. All the time in a bar I was stareing at the walls with a very cool pictures on it and all this bottles!! Omg, I loved it!;)

Looks great and has a cool atmosphere, but be wary, went there with some friends for a drink after already having a few, bartender could see we couldn't decide, offered to help us choose, but just leaned us straight to the most expensive option without telling us the price. €150 for 5 disgusting drinks was an outrageous discovery on my account this morning. I have always thought Absinth exists only to destroy you during night out. But guys from Green Devil’s Absinth bar had showed me the real way how to prepare and drink it. I was amazed how good it was! Over 100 types of Absinth, friendly staff and one of the most unique interior designs I have ever seen. Definitely going on top of must see things in Prague during the day and night!

Amazing design and decor. The place is a maze and a delightful one at that! You could spend hours looking at all the odd and bizarre wall (and ceiling!) art. The owner is cool too and a helpful one as well. The absinthe was delicious and well-prepared. The only reason I say 3 ⭐ is the price. At 390Kor, we are taking $20/drink which is excessive. We'd have ordered more if it wasn't priced so heavily towards tourists (and actually NYC drinks aren't even this expensive!!)

I wish we would have found this before the last night of our trip. It was a very different and interesting experience. The staff were very knowledgeable and able to answer all the questions we had. Absinth has a very unique taste and many might not enjoy it but being able to taste something that is so different and has so much history should be on your list when visiting Prague (or anywhere new). Really enjoyed our time and would recommend to anyone.

Great little gem to take a break from the attractions. Lots of absinthe to choose from. The prices are quite high and the bar is in a basement so it's quite smelly and damp but it doesn't ruin the experience of the decoration, the service and the absinthe. All in all, I would recommend a visit.

Must go and must to experience place in Prague. Creatively decorated in every possible corners of the bar and the staff are friendly and they are doing a very good job in presenting and serving the drinks. Price is high but by thinking that you are also paying for the experience, you don't regret to spend for one more drink. A lot of effort put into decorating the place, bravo! Looks like the horror ride of an amusement park. Well-located. Wide choice of absinth. Waiters are quite cold, but do come over to explain the process of Czech absinthe-drinking in contrast to French absinthe-drinking. Quite over-priced. Classic tourist attraction if you want to tick something off your bucket list, but you’re not missing out if your travels to Prague don’t bring you there.

It’s 2:30 in the afternoon and I’m chilling in an absinth bar. One to one service well explained and beautifully presented. Nice place to relax and unwind away from the crowds. Very friendly and helpful staff. Might be different if at night but highly recommend a visit. If not for a drink just poke your head in and look at their decor. English speakers available.

Very good quality, many types of absinthe could be tasted (not only from Czech republic but also from Germany and France), a very nice staff that explains and shows how absinthe is made and differences between types. Besides, I really enjoyed the music in there (if you like classical artists as Satie or Debussy, you will enjoy too), also the decoration was amazing and gives a calm and relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend.

A friend recommended the place as he visited it a couple of years ago.Had high expectations as i was searching for a true absinthe bar in Prague,what i got was a tourist trap,with a random atmosphere/decoration.The service was good the absinthe was bad.Also was a bit expensive as we paid around 30-32€ for two drinks, although it had some cheaper options.

A really special underground bar which serves mostly Absinth based drinks. The barman comes to your table and prepares the drink in front you while he explains the story behind it. They are really informative about what drink to choose and how Absinth drinks are created! The atmosphere is something really special. The prices are expensive but I think it worth it 100% to come and have this experience!

Awesome place. Design is incredibly weird but I loved it. Despite drinks being pretty pricey (or at least it seems it as a non-absinthe expert) the guy who served us was super friendly and helped a lot with deciding what to drink. Definitely worth a visit as it's a unique experience you can't get anywhere else. You could also buy absinthe in bottles to take home which was pretty cool.

Weird wonderful bar. We had one drink 12 GBP a go , however it was worth it the barman explained the procedure and why and what he was doing and the absinthe drink was really good we had one simply as it's very strong and must be sipped . The waiter was quite passionate explaining everything about Absinth, together with the deco makes it an entrained experience. Although prices are expensive so be careful ( I think I paid 30€ for my drink )because if you don’t like Absinth you ll regret it instantly. The place is super weird which is part of its charm and makes it fun to visit at least once. The waiter was super nice and took his time to explain everything. Im generally not a fan of Absinthe but the drink he recommended was perfect because it was very mild and had a hint of cinnamon. Also the way he served the drinks was a show in itself and honestly very enjoyable.

Smelly, slow and expensive! The atmosphere promises great things. The implementation and the slow staff, unfortunately, directly destroy this impression. If you don't throw up from the overpriced and disgusting drinks, you will do so after half an hour at the latest due to the disgustingly bad air in the cellar. A great pity, unfortunately not to be recommended.

Když jsem viděl bar z venku, upřímně se mi dovnitř úplně nechtělo. Ale nakonec jsem se přesvědčil a nemohl jsem udělat lépe. Atmosféra byla určitě unikátní díky poměrně úzkým prostorům a velice nevšední výzdobě. K tomu lehce zatuchlý nádech a tlumené světlo se k sobě hezky hodilo. Ceny jsou trochu vyšší, ale tak je to zážitek, takže můžu doporučit.

Love this place, very cool. The waiter/host provides information about the drinks. A bit pricey but as just something to try and experience, definitely worth the visit. It has a musty smell but for me, it just added to the experience and eventually you'll forget about it, ( maybe for those with sensitive nose, might not be bearable)

I never tried absinth before visiting this place, and i was shocked by how good it can be! Every drink is mixed in front of you and followed by a short description of history of absinth, which is quite interesting. Proficient staff, great drinks mixed with an outstanding interior of this place makes it a must-visit bar for everyone!

Tbh... I did not like the Absinthe. The ambience was also ok but not great. I thought the ambience would be like the ruin bars in Budapest and I also wanted to try absinthe once... The staff was good and polite.. and explained everything in a good way.. They also give suggestions and elaborate the items and how they make it...

Took a while to get seated and drinks were kinda pricey but a great place to try absinth and a fun atmosphere to sit and look around. Not great for large groups or clumsy people as there is a lot of glass and the downstairs bar is small. Great knowledgeable staff who helped recommend drinks for newbies and returners alike!

One of the must visit places in Prague. Easy to find as its not far from the old town square. The decor of the place is incredible, I've never seen anything like it. The staff are very friendly and so full of knowledge. I'm a fan of absinthe but I learned a lot visiting this place.

This place is really nice, we had our first drink of absinthe and the waiter was very nice and told us a lot about the history of absinthe. The bar was very creative decorated. So many eye catchers. Our drinks were a recommendation from the waiter and fitted our needs just fine.

OMG this place!! Never had absinthe before here and what an experience the drinks are prepared on a trolley at your table the traditional way while the server gives you a bit about the history of absinthe and the preparation process. Also really interesting decor!!

On the ground floor there is a shop with souvenirs, and below it is a bar. A very interesting place for fans of non-standard environment, we had a very pleasant and attentive waiter who helped with the choice of absinthe and told interesting stories. It was cool!

This place is a must see. Unique experience, amasing decor, nice people and an incredible amount of absinths to choose from. Shows you absinth is more than an ordinary shot. Even though I don't like the anice taste, it was great. Especially the way it is served.

That's a quite of the show! You get brief history of absinthe and description of your drink during exciting presentation. Staff is super knowledge and friendly. Place is underground so it slightly smells but nothing terrible - not for a romantic date tho.

I wasn’t a great fan of absinthe. Not anymore! Here all the best ones are available, not the fake green syrup you find in some countries (looking at you Amerika!) Also the absinth-tender (not sure if it is a word but it is now) is great and knowledgeable

Fun little bar in the cellar. Only really sells Absinthe. We did the tasting selection with 4 different types and you add your own water and sugar to suit. Crazy decorations add to the feel of the place. I don't like absinthe but this was fun

Great service that can tell a thing or two about absinthe, tasty alcohol and amazing atmosphere. I totally recommend this place!

Great absinth place. I came here after work and really enjoyed the St. Antoine absinthe. Will definitely come back again. :-)

Cool spot and very friendly staff. We had a cool experience, however can’t stay for too long if you’re not an absinthe fan.
