Disappointing. A friend who knows about my obsessive search for perfect potato cakes recommended Grove Road takeaway, saying their potato cakes were home made and delicious. Visited at around 12pm on a Monday. Placed an order for ten potato cakes (I was sharing with others in the car) with a less than enthusiastic guy. He went to retrieve them from the hot box and I requested they be freshly cooked and I was happy to wait. I was upfront about my pickiness when it comes to the freshness of potato cakes. He assured me that they were fresh. I took his word. I shouldn’t have. Left shop, into car, started eating potato cake with no delays. The sad slump of my shoulders on that first bite said it all. Not hot, not crisp and underdone batter inside. Home made, yes. Had potential if fresh, yes. Don't know what the problem with cooking them fresh was but it may have made all the difference to this review. Perhaps it was just an off day? Guess we’ll never know because I won’t be back. I don't like inconsistency and I don't like being BS'd to.

Food was fine. Was told I was lucky she was letting me in with my service dog an that's after I showed his ID an the owner would have not allowed it at all not a grate experience but unfortunately a little to common. EDIT you stated i wouldn't be allowed in by the other person an that was after i showed you his ID an told me i was lucky it was you. now there are many different service dogs for many different conditions an different breeds for different jobs you work a public businesses you may want to look up the DDA Or got to the ADA website. if you don't know what you are talking about its best to google it. an the only 2 people in that place was my carer an a nice older lady that actually agreed that you where in the wrong you messed up own it learn from it be better.

By far the best takeaway store in the area. They have excellent kebabs and snack packs, but we also like the fish & chips. A good selection of drinks including American soft drink varieties. A selection of grocery items are also available. The owners are very friendly and it's always nice chatting with them. Can't recommend this place enough.

I ordered a chicken burger made fresh today and it was absolutely delicious!! It’s now going to be my go to spot for a great burger at a great price. Service was also fantastic.

1st time was great chips, fish very fatty. Second time I had a kebab, not great. 3rd time I got there just as it was closing so missed out. Final time the guy behind the counter didn't want to cook a scoop of chips. I guess his vats sit cold unless someone wants a big order. Wont try a fifth time.

Always guaranteed a good chat n food. They have started selling Kebabs, and are Bloody Yummy. Very filling, pick your own, I always get the chicken, very flavoursome, and a good meal to have. Today also had on of the backlava's,, OMG Yum... Def get another one of those....

Great family run takeaway! We get burgers and chips and they’re better and cheaper than most of the fancy burger places. Also excellent salt options with regular, chicken or special salt. Anytime we call wait is only 10 or 15mins too which is a bonus.

This local store has to be one of the best good old fashioned takeaway shops in Glenorchy. The people are always friendly and willing to have a quick chat and they're always helpful. Souvalakis are to brilliant, never been disappointed yet. More

Very pleasant lady running this shop. It is a level walk for most people in the area and it has a small range of grocery items. It seems to get a lot of passing trade for the takeaway so the food must be good.

Best kebabs in Hobart by a country mile chips cooked to perfection, staff are so lovely and welcoming always have a smile and a laugh , we try and get here at least once a week especially for the kebabs

Had a few meals from here, but today was abit disappointing, the chips were different and only given a tiny portion, they were disgusting. My Pepsi Max was expired in march and tasted flat

Great customer service. Very personable and sincere. Food so fresh and so tasty and great value. $10 for their standard kebabs. Seriously my new shop to go to.

Good chips, with great special salt. The kebabs are simple, but so very well done. They don't do anything fancy, but all the simple things are done right.
