Unfortunately my wife and I had to have the pleasure of enjoying this little Cafe all too much while my daughter was admitted to Randall Children's Hospital. It was a great relief that actually good food was available with a decent selection of snacks and drinks complimenting the burgers, hot & cold sandwiches and hot breakfasts. They even have doughnuts if you are into that. I always enjoyed the weekly specials such as carnita tacos or chicken tinga tacos, but everything I tried here was good. It was our little oasis in a very stressful and emotional time, and the little extra effort to make a typical Hospital kitchen into a enjoyable Cafe means a lot to us. Oh, and the prices are extremely reasonable!

My girlfriend is an employee here and on occasion we have have lunch together. Ive only eaten here a couple of times but she has more often. The heartbeat cafe is reasonably priced and has a variety of menu options to suit all diets. The eating area as well as the ordering area, was clean and organized to fit social interactions. There was a line on the floor which told customers where to wait for checkout, and the staff was prompt in opening another register when it got busy. The food we ordered was made to order and was ready after a short wait. Staff is very friendly and even knowledgeable of where places are throughout the hospital and are happy to help you find where you need to go.

Best place to grab lunch if you are at the hospital or Legacy medical facilities on Grant in Portland. They're usually busy, but well-staffed and well-stocked. I've had several of their sandwiches, and always fresh and delicious. This time the tuna melt, which didn't disappoint, with a generous helping of tuna, two kinds of cheese, grilled onions, and fresh tomato on a wonderful roll. Very filling and warm on a cold day. Lots of healthy deli choices and beverages to choose from and reasonably priced.

Really varied level of crowding and can be very busy but they are always work for the Custer with a smile and are a great resource for anyone visiting Emanuel medical center or Randall Children's Hospital. Good variety of foods, snacks, and both caffeinated and non-caffeinated beverages. Anyone with a dietary restriction should practice caution when eating at a new location but Heartbeat is well informed and caters to a wide variety of needs. A definite good choice for anyone on the medical campus. Just be prepared for paying $$$ for the convenience.

Staff is absolutely amazing, coffee is the best when one lady makes it the rest of the time it's pretty hit and miss. It's an automatic machine so it's okay for what it is. The cooked food is mediocre but the premade options are very good. The ginger snap cookies are amazing as are the Dolmas!

I quite like this little cafe stand inside the hospital. I wish I could go more often, but hospital staff has turned me away before because the cafe is only open to people who have a reason to be at the hospital besides visiting the cafe (in-&out-patients, staff, possibly patient visitors).

Hospital garage parking is free, but I found that parking lot 2 was full, and lot 3 had ample parking.

Good, inexpensive hospital food. Whether you're waiting for an appointment or you're visiting someone, they've got you covered. Unfortunately, they're no longer open 24/7. Their hours are 5:30 am - 2:00 am, so still almost all hours. I usually go for the build your own sandwich, but the breakfast burrito is great if you're there early.

I was very impressed with this visit to the cafe! Lots to choose from, good food, healthy food, gluten free, vegan, burgers, salads, lots of beverages, coffee, treats sweet/not sweet n great service. They call out your number when food ready! Large n roomy lounge w/lots of natural beautiful lighting, plenty of chairs n tables &plenty of condiments too! Lots of pictures 2c.

Nice little place inside Legacy Emanuel Hospital for breakfast and lunch. Inexpensive and a good offering of staples to choose from. Located inside of a hospital, the usual Covid-19 precautions are expected and enforced. Open from 4:30 am to 2 pm. Should you be or work at a hospital, this place serves up some decent food at affordable prices, with pretty quick service.

Popular place inside the big atrium within hospital complex. Long hours are really nice. Great prices and and quality food. Both employees and visitors seem to frequent this spot. Nice to have a spot to eat and be inside a big open air space while eating (and staying warm)

The self serve snacks are available 24/7, which is great. Good variety of salads and sandwiches, with some sweet things too. The grill is open until 2am and makes decent burgers, pizza, and custom hot or cold sandwiches. I haven't tried the coffee, but others I've spoken to say it's good quality. They have weekly specials available as well

Good hours and great food selection -- lots of healthy, fresh, local options. The best part, though, has to be the people working there: I'd brought my baby to the hospital unexpectedly and had forgotten to bring my wallet, and they helped me out with what I couldn't pay. Much appreciated, I was so hungry! Thank you.

Very good food especially for a hospital. Also very fair prices especially for hospital food. You can get a decent meal they're cheaper then you can at most fast food places.

Moderate food. Customer service was so-so. In a hospital people could really use at least a bit of acknowledgment. Why have napkins so far away from where you pick up order?

Night shift are a little on the grumpy side. Prices are ok but the food isnt much better than typical hospital food. At least they have crack in a can for those long nights.

Ordered a grilled cheese sandwich - even though it was made to order it was so rubbery I could hardly chew! Even the bread was incredibly chewy! It was disgusting.
