Horrible experience right from the start. I went on a long road trip over the holidays, and rented a car at Dollar (which is owned by Hertz). I advised them that I would be putting upwards of 7k kms on the car, so don’t give me anything that’s going to need service right away. They gave me a vehicle and said this one would suffice. Low and behold, just under 2k kms into my journey, the oil change required message comes on. I had another 700kms or so til I reached my destination, so I waited til I got there, and called them (the Munroe location in Winnipeg directly) the next business day. They did not answer the phone the first time, so I left a message. They never returned my call. I called back the following day, and was told they would call their mechanic to see if I could carry on with the rest of my journey (more than 4k additional kms) without getting the oil changed, and they would call me back before the end of the day. Well like every other promise from them, the end of the day never came. So again take my time to call yet again, at which time I was advised to take time out of my vacation to take the vehicle for an oil change, and that they would cover it (which I had to pay out of pocket). Upon continuing my journey, one of the tires (which was low when I originally picked it up by the way, with that information presented on the cars screen when you start it) needed to be repaired which I again paid out of pocket. After returning the vehicle, I presented my receipts and was assured my rental fees would be adjusted accordingly. Well low and behold, I was charged the full amount on my credit card! That was Jan 19. Today is Feb 22, and after many promises, many phone calls, and many lies from their staff, I still not have been reimbursed for these expenses they assured me would be covered. Their staff at Munroe location in Winnipeg are useless, and blatantly give false promises and NEVER call you back when they say they will. After this experience, the entire Hertz company will never see another dollar of my money, I will stick to Enterprise where they appreciate their customers. Calling my credit card company right now to do a charge back, I’m so done with these clowns.

I would not recommend this car rental outlet. The customer service was poor. Vehicles are not suitable for a Winnipeg winter, or not available. To explain, I phoned to rent a replacement car for my stolen SUV. It was stolen while I was vising an assisted living senior center in Winnipeg. Autopac covers a replacement, to a point. As it is Winter in Winnipeg, and the roads are extremely slippery, I asked for a vehicle with snow tires or all wheel drive. They said they do not have cars with snow tires. Also, they failed to phone me back me back after offering to do so a couple of times after I called inquiring about renting an all wheel drive SUV. This occurred on both Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday I decided to stop in as I was nearby. The door was locked and the number they posted rang until it hung up. When I finally reached someone I was told they did not call me back because they did not have an SUV for me. I rented an SUV at A2B car rentals instead, no problems. Winter driving conditions in Winnipeg this year are dangerous because of the icy streets, and regular cold and snowfalls. No one should be allowed to rent vehicles without snow tires. Besides having bad customers service, they are renting cars that place drivers at risk.

-DO NOT USE Hertz RENTAL!!- Everything was fine until it came down to return the vehicle! I arrived to drop off the vehicle, the lady inspected the car, I asked if there are any charges I have to pay and she said no you are free to go. This morning I wake up with 1100$ Charge from HERTZ WITH 0 Explanations! Not a single email, not a single message. I called HERTZ only for them to tell me that "Mpi" did not approve those days meanwhile I just got off the phone with them saying it was approved. Instead of HERTZ Cintacting me and letting me know there is an issue with the rental... Instead of HERTZ contacting MPI regarding the approval, INSTEAD OF HERTZ EMAILING ME OR CALLING ME to let me know they are going to charge 1100$ They just charged my credit card! When I called to ask about the information they could not find my file! Kept transferring me until I met a "manager" who then told me he will email me the receipts right away. So mpi can reimburse me. Called in an hour later to Hertz to find out their manager has "LEFT" for the day after I told them my name and that I'm calling about the receipts. Awful customer service!!

Over the Top Service! Due to a misunderstanding (a combination of my fault and the third-party web service I booked the car through), I arrived to Hertz after it had closed. I called the phone number posted on the door, however, and my distressed phone call was quickly returned. The manager, Shikha, went out of her way to personally make the situation right (even though it wasn't her fault). She was professional, courteous, and very helpful. Our car, too, ended up being a great vehicle at a truly great price. This location highly recommended!

My experience with Hertz Car Rental at the Munroe location was one of the best car rental experiences I've ever had. My personal vehicle was out of commission for over 30 days and the great people at this location went out of their way to accommodate me from renting me the truck I needed to giving me a ride back to the dealership to answering all my rental car questions as related to my MPI claim throughout the rental process. I highly recommend this location for your next vehicle rental. Very good service!

I used to rent from an another rental company but last week we needed two cars (sedan) but this other rental company had only one so we decided to take one from Hertz at Munroe very last moment. To my surprise not only the price was 1/3rd but also the customer service was far beyond my expectations. The staff was very professional and customer oriented. They sanitized the car in front of us to ensure safety in these trying times. I would definitely recommend this location if anyone wants to rent a car.

Shikha and staff were wonderful to deal with, very friendly and helpful. I had the rental car for nearly 3 weeks and Shikha would always call right away if any issues came up with the MPI coverage. As well, this was the only place I was able to find and reserve a rental car with only a few hours notice, and I called many different car rental businesses in the EK / NK area. The car was very clean and in wonderful condition. Best car rental place in my opinion, highly recommended!

We rented a minivan from this location for our family trip to Detroit. The staff is really pleasant and knowledgeable. Shikha is very helpful and professional. The vehicle was clean and almost new as she promised over the phone. We had a great trip. They went extra mile to offer me a ride when I picked up the car. We have rented several vehicles in the past. This was the best experience ever. We are going back there to rent for our upcoming summer trip.

Charge me 400 for having a dog in the car once. They say there was dog hair everywhere yet I spent over a hour making the car look immaculate. Must be because I returned the car early and they don't get all their money the need to make it up somewhere. Using the no smoking rule to charge customers an extra $400 whenever they feel like is the biggest screw you to customers. These guys are scam artists. Enjoy your money you just lost a customer.

Do not go here! They charged my Ukrainian friends a few days later a second time for days that they did not use the vehicle at all. They had to change their accounts and everything. Now their bank is investigating why the charge was made and where the money went. It seems from the lower star reviews this company is trash and the people are awful scam artists. Immigrants beware of this company.

I just found this rental experience pleasant to a level I wouldn't have expected, especially because I totally scrambled my reservation pick up time. Very lovely customer service rep who helped me figure out my new drop off situation at the airport (what I'd meant to reserve in the first place). Wish I'd taken the time to catch her name!

Showed up 20 minutes past opening and there wasn’t anyone even present. Another customer and I were stuck with our returns that needed receipts so we couldn’t use the drop box nor did we even have directions where to leave the cars if we did. No one answering the phones. Had to go to a different location to drop off unfortunately.

Best Car Rental to go to. Excellent Customer Service guaranteed, Never gave me a hard time swapping and changing my car if I had an issue + dropping me off and picking me up on my place. Will commend both rental agent (Shikha + forgot the other girls name ) for excellent service. Will definitely go back if I needed another rental.

As a Winnipeg newcomer, I rented a car to see the northern lights at Bird Hill Provincial Park. That's amazing! The two staff in the office were born on the same day as I:) What a wonderful coincidence! They were very friendly and helpful. Definitely will go there for next time!

Hertz did not have any vehicles available if I was using an insurance company claim but did have a vehicle available if I rented personally but rates would be different.
