I have been a customer of Geoff’s for about 4 years now. I have bought DACs, headphones, speakers and now even a very colourful integrated amplifier from him. I started with a DAC for my headphones. When I first walked in, the experience there was like no other high end shop I had been in. It was purely about the product and how things worked. In principle, but most importantly, for YOU. The way Geoff can nuance a product to its buyer is unmatched. I had never thought that 5 years ago, that today upon writing this I’d be looking at my integrated amp that I just bought thanks to him. The way he accommodates people and his ethics wouldn’t have made this possible for me otherwise. I felt heard, and as an autistic someone, to have my sensory needs understood in a way that felt satisfying to me is very uncommon. But, that wasn’t the case at all. His knowledge, understanding and zealous drive to make sure you get what you want or be shown something you didn’t even know was possible is what keeps me coming back. There’s a very natural way about him and his business that I think many people could and should learn from. Honest business is a rarity these days, but here’s someone that gives you a feeling like you’re learning more about yourself through sound and very good conversation. Thank you for getting me on this road Geoff. All this has been life changing and I can’t wait for what’s next!

Geoff was easy to speak with and had a delightful manner over the phone. I went ahead and agreed to purchase a dac for, to me, a large amount (never spent that much on an audio equipment). I had to chase him to settle the balance since his invoice specified a due date. He then promised to ship the item the following day. That didn't happen. At this point, I was very much concerned - and stressed, given the amount that I already paid (and given that scams were in the news). I had to chase him again. He said he was very busy and didn't have anyone to help him. He then promised to ship the item first thing the following day. I didn't receive any word the following day and I had to follow up again around 2pm. I finally received an email with the tracking number around 2.30pm. This was the only time I was able to 'breath!' The experience, especially since I didn't know Geoff and haven't dealt with him before and I was not in Melbourne, was stressful. I have to say, though, that I am pleased with the dac I got.

My experience with HeyNow Hi-Fi was lacking to say the least. Messaged Geoff about a year ago, asking about availability of a Rega Planar 3 glass platter…I received no reply for a week. I politely sent a follow up message, and Geoff replied about 3 days later saying he would look into stock, lead time and price and get back to me shortly…then disappeared with no further contact. I was going to send a further follow up message, but decided Geoff should be making some more effort and I felt this was becoming a little one way, so I moved on to another retailer who was more than helpful and customer service focused and so I went on to make many more hi-fi purchases since from that retailer. I wasn’t sure if this was a one off experience, or other customers were having similar experiences with HeyNow Hi-Fi and Geoff…now looking at some other reviews here, I see I wasn’t the only one, so I thought I’d add my experience here to make others aware.

I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to Goeff at HeyNow Hi-fi. I brought a second hand set of headphones from a fellow Audiophiler which unfortunately became faulty under warranty. Geoff was amazingly helpful and honoured the warranty claim, no questions asked! I know other stores would have just thrown out the claim saying warranties cannot be transferred - your problem etc. He was also kind enough to let me choose a different colour - service at its best. Ordered and Received a NAD3050LE Amplifier. It was a bit of a spur of the moment decision, but the functional shopping list was well and truly met with lots of inputs, two speaker terminals, wifi, bluetooth (two way), phono pre-amp, intergrated amp, dac, streamer, but the real reason for the purchase was the beautiful walnut veneer & VU meters, the best of old & new. I was after a complete system and have recently purchased a great small system from HeyNow Hi-Fi, including Vivid Kaya S12 speakers, a NAD C399 integrated amplifier and a KEF KC62 subwoofer. Because in different cities, I contacted through email. Before placing the order, the response was very fast, but after I placed the order and received the speaker, I sent another email due to a lack of accessories, but did not receive any response I can't believe how high Google's score is. Perhaps this is my first and last time buying hifi products here, and I won't recommend my friends either.

Great boutique Hi-Fi store and Geoff is very knowledgeable, helpful and not at all pushy. Currently trying to decide on a new high-quality active loudspeaker for my office and after a demo in which I had a hard time deciding, Geoff offered a home trial which I will be taking him up on after Christmas. One of the few retailers in Melbourne I would confidently recommend to friends and family.
