It’s Aug 5th. We just drove down and helped my child get things to her dorm room. We get to this hotel and the room was hot! It was like 106 degrees today. The hallway temp on the 3rd floor said 85. BTW the hallways are hot as well. I asked the front desk if they had a complimentary fan and they said no. I explained the room is hot and they go on about some new technology that is supposed to save energy. Okay that is great but the room is not cooling down and we have been in there for two hours. I returned and it felt as if I was a nuisance to the front desk. They give me a key for a different room to one of the older rooms. That room feels nice and cool. Than my nine year old spots ants in the bathroom, bathroom mirror, and on the towels. So, we have to go back down and inform the front desk again. All I wanted was bug spray instead they move us to ANOTHER room a little down the hall AND this room is hot. It’s an older room but it’s hot. It’s 10:30 pm why is it hot in the room, been in the new room over an hour, and it’s still hot. Now my teenage son is feeling nauseous. I don’t want another unpleasant interaction with the front desk again. All this inconvenience we should be upgraded to a room with cold air and free of bugs for FREE. The 3 stars is for the staff at @Eric’s Restaurant they were awesome.

Nice clean, recently refreshed hotel on the University of Houston campus. You don't have to be affiliated with the university, and can come and go, but it's basically on campus. (Take the left turn just before the maps tell you to, just after the guard shack, and parking is below on the right under the building, saves a U-turn). Rooms were clean and modern, Wi-Fi sufficiently fast, and the parking semi-secured in the underground garage. The restaurant has good food (I'm sure it's mostly probably per-prepared, but it was tasty non-the-less), and good drinks. At the time I stayed there were no events happening and the whole place was exceptionally quiet and uneventful. I'd say "chill", but that implies a "cool vibe"... this was just... there... existing.. if you want a painless, uneventful, non-memorable stay (sometimes those are the best) with minimal human interaction, this is your place. And in that part of Houston, particularly if you need to work a bit further East, this is one of the better safer options for both you and your vehicle.

Hubby booked this for me and the kids for a track meet at U of H. Not used to hotels not having gyms or pools. For the amount we paid, there really should be more to this place. Also bummed no breakfast on weekends. On top of all that, we couldn't sleep due to another guest next door being locked out of their room. After about 10 to 15 minutes of them banging on their door and talking, I called the front desk to ask them if they could contact them to keep it down. It was about 11 30pm. I was informed that maintenance was they're trying to fix the door, and it would be done in about 10 minutes. It wasn't done in 10. Lots of talking, lots of slamming doors and tools being dropped into the toolbox with zero regard for guests trying to sleep at midnight. The doors allow for every sound to go through. We had to wake up at 5 30am and we all slept horrible. I felt so bad for my son since I knew he'd have a long day the next day with little sleep. I will find a new hotel next track meet with more amenities and options. This hotel was not worth the money for me. Pro- the room and bathroom were really nice and clean.

We were reserved a handicap accessible room because I am disabled. On Saturday night after showering I noticed that the bathroom floor was flooding & not draining properly. I put down towels to collect as much water as possible & I immediately called the front desk to inform them. I was told we would be moved to another room with a functioning bathroom so that my husband could shower when he returned. I was also told we would be given half off our room rate for the inconvenience. I was told that maintenance was gone for the night & there was no one who could come & neither look at the bathroom nor dry the water up. Therefore while sitting on my walker I attempted to get up as much water as I could as to not cause any further damage. When my husband returned & went down to the front desk he was told they would give him another room to shower in & we would just stay in the room we were in initially. You would think they would have given us a credit for a future stay or compensated the night but none of that happened. Just excuses about construction going on & we should understand.

We had our wedding reception at the UH Hilton and the whole experience was absolutely over the top amazing. Every single staff member that we interacted with was top notch, not just doing their job but actively solving problems and brainstorming solutions. The room rates were excellent for our out of town guests, and the ballroom was fantastic. This was absolutely the most economical place to have our 150 person wedding. They were able to do food, bar service, tables, linens, setup/teardown, etc for what many places just wanted to give us the room for. I still cannot believe it. A special shout-out goes to our Hilton event contact Brooke. She was amazing start to finish, helped us solve problems, and was very flexible in facilitating our needs/desires and pack in/pack out requirements. Our wedding would not have been nearly as awesome or enjoyable without her. I think anyone looking for a reception venue should check out this facility, and their is a nice synergy with the AD Bruce chapel on campus for the ceremony (that is what we did). Thanks Hilton!!!!

This hotel has been under construction the two times I have been there. This time they wouldn’t let us bring in catering for the team. When you have several swim teams, dance teams and other events going on, you need to be able to provide for them all. The team needed breakfast, lunch and dinner but we weren't allowed to bring food into the hotel. We talked to several people and management about us doing a banquet for the team after the last night of swim championships. Even called them several times a few weeks ahead of time. They never got back in touch with us. They couldn’t accommodate us because they only have one restaurant and one cook, not enough staff. We even told them we would take takeout, still couldn’t do it. Ended up renting a room somewhere else to hold the banquet. Hotel also doesn’t have laundry services which is a problem when you are staying for five days or more. I don’t recommend for large groups.

Lovely hotel. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and that meal was good. We had food delivered for dinner. It was nice that we were able to park and go straight to our room using the app to check in and provide the digital key. The rooms were nicely decorated and really clean. Nice view of the city skyline if you are on the correct side. The beds were pretty comfortable but maybe need to be turned. But I would certainly stay here again. The staff was nice and again, the rooms were really clean. It was literally 1 block from the sports area and about 3 blocks from a nice little coffee shop. Macalisters was across the street. A smoothie king was inside the sports building. If you fence here you should know there are no bananas to be round at the hotel, or any of the restaurants.

Great Location in the Heart of the University of Houston campus. Across the street from Cullen Theater and the Student Center South. A block away from the Moody Towers. Less than a 10 minute walk to the Cougar Football, Baseball & Basketball Stadiums. Less than 5 minute walk to the Metro Rail Train Station. The hotel has 150 New (70) & Recently Renovated (80) Sleeping Rooms. Three Ballrooms and multiple smaller rooms with full cateringservices. Full service restaurant (Eric's) with a bar. Approximately 60 percent of the staff are students in the Hilton College of Global Hospitality. Enjoy & Go Coogs!

We had made a reservation using a third party and we got there at midnight the clerk stated that the reservation was cancelled due to card being declined. The representative Jennifer just dismissed us and went to next person. I understand sometimes these things happen but she was very rude and didn't offer the choice of other rooms. She seemed bothered and this is midnight may I remind you. We ended finding a room at Best Western Hobby Airport. For the prices they charge for rooms that are mediocre at best, I expected better treatment. Stay away if you like to be treated with respect and a customer.

  • Mike Karstetter

Construction Construction confusion,Hotel has no Lobby, no restaurant to speak of rooms are not cleaned daily ,you need two separate elevators to go from the parking garage to your room it's signs are badly written or no signs at all and then they want to charge you $50 fee not to stay there the full length of your reservation no refrigerator in the room. Better planes to stay. In light of the inconvenience and construction going on in the hotel one would think they would waive any fees to offer a better experience.

Nicely appointed single room king size bed and amenities. Needs a microwave and mini fridge to really finish off the place really well. I think filtered water dispenser would also be a plus and is a little more socially responsible. It lost some stars because for higher end appointments, the shower curtain doesn't touch the floor and the arch shaped curtain rod pushes the curtain out of the standup shower threshold, water flowed out and created a slip hazard. I am posting this in case they decide to charge me for damages that is self created by not fixing this issue. I didn't slip, thankfully.

Hilton is a very beautiful place, the location is strategic and the service are just fine. I find it interesting that the room has two beds, major necessities are also well provided. The only thing I find missing is a toothpaste(Thank goodness I was well prepared). But overall, the service was great.

I got the room for two nights and I couldn't get coffee for the next morning. Trash cans didn't have liners'bed sheets didn't get changed after the first night' the phone beeped from the time I opened the door until the time I walked the phone downstairs to the lobby and the TV only had 4 channels. The construction is a total inconvenience they tried to charge me $40 for parking after already being charged $100 deposit for incidentals. I had a better stay at Holiday inn Express.

I've been coming to UH Hilton for 20 years. There is a weird mildew smell throughout the hotel right now. I went to sit at the bar for the coogs basketball game and they said they couldn't get the second TV on the game. So I went back to my room to order room service and they told me I couldn't order liquor, only beer and wine through room service. I've ordered room service liquor almost every time I've been here. No idea why they wouldn't do that. I'm pretty disappointed in this hotel so far this time. It's always been one of my faves before.

  • Guinevere Buxo

We enjoyed our stay! They have remodeled and the rooms are beautiful. The rooms are not huge, but are very well designed so they feel larger and are quite comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Karen, at the front desk, was wonderful. She answered all our questions and made sure to take care of anything extra we needed. For some reason the rooms do not have a standard mini fridge, but she was able to get us one to use during our stay- so be sure to ask for it if you'll be needing that. Overall, we had a great visit there.

Stayed here during a campus visit. Fantastic staff, very professional and courteous. Hotel location is great for anyone visiting the campus, a little bit of a drive or Uber from downtown but still good. Note there is a lot of construction going on right now and it makes it a little difficult to enter the property and the parking garage has a low roof height for anyone with a tall vehicle so just be aware. The rooms were clean comfortable and well appointed.

My boss selected this location and hotel. I assume she may have gone here? The hotel is actually on the campus of the University of Houston. It looks a bit institutional. The hotel is very clean. Wished they had a bar. I guess in the summer they have fewer guests. Rooms are clean. Wonder if they have a pool? What's nearby? There is a restaurant down the street. Quiet location.

I needed a last minute place to stay after other plans fell through. The receptionist, Tiffany, was very helpful and professional. O was able to check-in at the Hilton, when all other Hotels were unavailable until 6am. The room was well kept and sanitary! Clean linen and towels, complimentary coffee, a quiet suite, no complaints! The staff also greeted whenever they saw their guests throughout the hotel as well. I would be more than happy to return for another stay.

Excellent rooms and staff. It was a hot day and the room was unable to get cool below 80 degrees. They moved us to a better room/upgrade for free and the problem was solved. Food was surprisingly good. Plenty of electrical outlets and basic internet is free. Underground (low clearance) parking is $20 and a day and tight but at the time there was plenty of it.

The room was nice. The location was extremely convenient to our conference. They even offered us a corner room that had extra space, which was very thoughtful of them. The price was a bit expensive, but my job was paying, so I don't know that this made a big difference in my opinion. Staff were friendly. Room was clean. They had more bathroom products than a regular hotel (ie mending kit), which seemed nice. I would certainly stay here again if I wasn't paying.

Stayed for a couple of days during a ballet competition. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was super courteous and accommodating. A good hotel to stay at for school or related business. Beautifully maintained hotel on campus. We came over with some friends to have desserts at the restaurant on the first floor. The place is immaculate and clean and beautifully lit. Some of the guys working were a bit shy and some were very enthusiastic and we had a great time overall. The dessert was delicious, but unfortunately because we were there late in the evening they had run out of a few things. Fun experience all together.

(May, 2021 - 3rd or 4th stay here) Had a few, small kinks, fairly clean room, could have used a tad of attention. Would love for front desk to be a tad more warm, look you in the eye when speaking, smile a bit, know the campus more and know about the events happening, Students in training - hoping the training will take these into account. Overall, not bad.
