Stayed at here few times every December to do Christmas shopping. Very central just a walk away to trinity shopping center ect just a short drive to retail parks. Hotel is great big family room. Lovely staff great service and supply extra tea coffee milk for rooms in reception area. Didn't find out till the 2nd day and already bought supplies. Great breakfast. Had little stuff for kids crayons and colouring pictures, letter to santa and post box. Parking is confusing at times we didn't pay 3 days straight away but went daily. £12 a day but £24 if you don't leave and come back in or £40 for 3 days we was worried if we couldn't get parked up as was very busy car park and anyone can use it. I would highly recommend holiday inn to anyone.

IHG Platenium Elite Member I stayed on 15th October in room 504 17.10 23 I've edited the review following the hotels response below. Their response doesn't reflect or answer the points in my review. I've reduced service down to 3 from 5. Efficient check-in. Friendly staff. Room in need of modernisation. Thin windows - lots of traffic noise even at 4am. Not good for a decent night's sleep. Shower not very powerful. Shower head loose. I was unable to position it so I could have a decent shower, instead, having to stand almost against the wall to get wet. Lots of chipped furniture. Comfy bed and sofa bed. Ample storage space for hanging clothes. Breakfast OK. Decent variety. Hot option poor; over cooked sausages and bacon. Not very warm. Coffee from a machine that was disgusting. Not the most modern Holiday Inn Express hotels out there. Location good: frequent bus service to / from the City Centre (bus stops on dual carriage way or up the hill near the halls of residence. Buses operated by FirstBus. Train station 20-30 min walk or a bus or taxi ride. Top tip: Get a room not overlooking the dual carriage way.

Stayed here after attending Leeds Festival on Sunday. The staff are absolutely brilliant, big shout out to Beth for her customer service, she went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. Had two double rooms. Rooms are pretty basic but have all you need in them. Shower could do with being a little more powerful. Beds aren't comfy, but the pillows were. You have to pay £10 to park your car in the car park, this is made clear upon booking. (And easy to do). Can be a bit of a struggle finding it through Google maps though so be careful if navigating your way using Google maps!! Breakfast in the morning was sufficient, they even provided take away bags if you needed to rush. Overall a pretty decent stay and would stay here again. Beth is amazing!

Good room, friendly staff, iffy breakfast (hot options very limited for vegetarians, vegans or those who can't eat pork). The main issue: owing to a problem with the parking meter (confirmed by desk staff), we were charged two nights for our car instead of one. Although Holiday Inn point out the parking as a key facility, payment is actually handled by a third-party: YourParkingSpace. Staff therefore ask guests to contact the third party themselves for a refund etc. This involves a time-consuming rigmarole with a QR code and a week later no outcome. Followed up on web chat with the company and got a robot - had to resubmit all details etc I am not hopeful. Very disappointing and reflects badly on Holiday Inn.

From the outside it looks quite a new building but it goes down hill quickly once you get past reception. The rooms seem OK on first inspection but dig a little deeper and you start to notice how tired the rooms are. Worst still for us (maybe not every room) we had quite a horrid drain smell eminating from the bathroom. Cleanliness wise everything that could be cleaned was quite clearly cleaned but you can't clean age... And it's been a while since the rooms were refurbished. Breakfast was good tbh but I suppose the once massive positive for this place are the staff, who were all excellent. Come on management, time for a refurb!

Stayed here during the cricket. I would normally say that the hotel is exactly what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express but this time it was different. I've stayed in many a Holiday Inn Express but never one with such friendly awesome staff. It made such a difference that the staff were so nice and got on so well together. Special shout out to Brendan. If any corporate people read this, then look after that guy. He's got that rare quality of making a huge hotel business seem like a friendly local place (even though we didn't get a discount on the parking!).

Absolutely disgraceful how one of our party were treated. Management need lessons on how to manage a hotel of this level. Management were very unprofessional. Disgusting how they treated one of our party. They would not allow them back into the hotel as they said they were not guest even tho they had keys to a room. Then the management felt our party was abusive because he was annoyed over the situation and called the police make the matter worse than what bit was very unprofessional do not stay here as they just want money and have no customer service at all. We will be going further

Stayed for one night only as attending a family engagement party in the city. We'll placed location for our needs with ample parking directly outside the hotel. Close enough for the city centre but far enough out not to be troubled by it. Seems a little trivial but did knock one star off the room rating for the wall decoration falling off but otherwise clean and well appointed meeting my expectations. If visiting Leeds again would definitely make a return reservation and recommend it to others.

Whilst staying in Leeds for work recently we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and it was a great stay. The staff on the front desk were exceptional - particularly Evan who greeted us and checked us in. The rooms were very spacious and clean. I wasn't disturbed by any noise or issues throughout the night. It was a short walk to a range of restaurants also which was handy for the evening. The breakfast in the morning was great with lots of options and the restaurant was clean and well looked after.

Really over-priced room, they obviously increased the price for the cricket match. The rooms are very basic. The air-con was very noisy and we couldn't close the window properly. The included breakfast was poor. The scrambled eggs were the usual hotel gloop, the bacon was tough. The bread and coffee was ok. The staff were the best bit, very friendly and helpful, although at check-out time there was no one manning the desk for a few minutes. Also the double bed was very small.

In the middle of student accommodation blocks but was lovely and quiet overnight with convenient and well priced car park. Rooms are large, immaculately clean and very well equipped. Included breakfast was excellent with simple but tasty buffet. The best thing about this place was the staff who were without exception friendly and efficient and really seemed to care you had a good stay. Highly recommend for a good value stay especially if travelling by car.

15 minute walk from centre of Leeds, easy location and has a big car park (but £12 per night). Rooms are clean and beds comfortable however had to go without any of my appliances working as the plug sockets werent working and the Aircon is somewhat noisy. The TV worked but the kettle and other things not so much. Reception desk are friendly and helpful.

We had a very warm and enthusiastic reception when we arrived. We were able to park in the car park and leave the car there all weekend. It's a 20 minute walk to the centre of Leeds. The rooms are good, the same as most HIE rooms. Breakfast is good too, limited choice but included in the room price.

This HIE is situated between Leeds City centre and Headingley. My only real issue is that they don't have any rooms with king size beds. Breakfast was a little dull. Warm fresh fruit is not particularly refreshing. Plenty of parking and 15 minute walk from the station. All the staff were top class.

Standard Holiday Inn express, clean and tidy rooms but they are very dark. The staff are friendly and the breakfast was good. There is free WiFi which helps. The only problem is the location, it's near main road so the rooms are quiet noisy.

Short notice booking, able to park on site, admittedly it cost 10 pounds for one night... clean and tidy establishment (apart from some bottles and odd items under the bed, obviously overlooked during cleaning, but everything else was clean and tidy) it's bad that cash isn't accepted at the bar.

  • Hardeswales

Not a hotel I would recommend if wanting to stay central. There are 2 other holiday inn hotels in Leeds which are far superior. Car parking situation is not suitable, the car parking is clearly for the hotel but you have to pay separately and is expensive is parking over 24 hours.

  • Michelle Hudson

Only issue we found was the window in our room didn't close properly and there was a draught coming through and the road noise was louder that we'd have liked however we stuffed a couple of towels in it and put the heater on.

A very pleasant welcome, as always at this hotel. Rooms always nice and clean, comfortable beds help give a good nights sleep. Plenty of decent amenities in bedroom, maybe missing a few biscuits to go with the tea/coffee in room, that aside a relaxing, comfortable stay.
