We had a fun evening with a few exceptions. The music is very good and there is a lot of variety to it. No cover charge at any place we went. The vibe was generally fun, and the people were mostly friendly. That's the good stuff. Most of the venues themselves are really poorly laid out which means that if you want to actually explore a bit (go up or down) you'll be fighting your way through crowds of people often within steps of a stage. I'd say an hour of the five hours we were there was pretty much this activity. Three people in my party had drinks spilled on them by drunk dummies who made no apologies. It also smells pretty bad in a lot of places. This crowd are not people that know how to handle themselves when they go out. So did I have fun? Yes. Did I wish later than I had made different wardrobe choices so that I wouldn't have to take stuff to the dry cleaners? Also yes.

This is what I came to Nashville for. Live country/blues/rock-n-roll everywhere! Every single door is an entrance to a live music bar/pub experience, likely different music behind each door too. A lot of rooftops! Not iust for country music lovers, surprisingly, but a lot of that too of course (I heard a lot of modern country as opposed to classics). I’ll say the music depends on the day too. But each of the places on this street has a truly unique vibe of it’s own, so it’s worth hopping to experience everything. Loved the fully open wall windows that let the music out onto the street, and speakers coming from each bar too so you can sample the sound before walking in. Drinks won’t be cheap, but you don’t have to get much to have a great time.

This is Broadway Street, etc. in downtown Nashville. Definitely worth a visit both during the day and night for the music, the boot and clothing shops, the restaurants....Yes, this is the tourist part of town, but it's also full of talented musicians, and a great place to go to experience any and all of them. Most of the bars have large windows that open to the sidewalks so you can stand outside and listen to music as you're walking by or just standing out front. There is a cool five-story Ole' Red, Kid Rock's bar, and many others here, many of which have cool rooftop bars as well. The Bridgestone arena is also here. A very walkable and clean downtown area. Much fun!

This is an experience for the whole family. Great live music by good talent. The ability to carry in a backpack also varies. All of the good bars have live entertainment during the daytime and are generally family friendly until their cut off time which varies by bar. At cut off time, minors and those under the legal age to consume alcohol are asked to leave. Men are required to have sleeves which could be a simple as donning a t-shirt from the venue if the male doesn’t have one to put on.

Let’s break this down real quick: 1. Just go! If you are reading reviews and trying to decide if you should go, just do it. You won’t be disappointed. 2. Transportation - use Uber, Lyft or other ride shares to pick you up or drop you off. If you feel like a challenge you can drive but expect to pay to park in parking garages and walk. 3. During the day it’s very kid friendly in the evening not so much and tailored to older audiences. 4. Music is everywhere, enjoy yourself! 5. Food, you won’t go wrong finding food. Plenty of options to eat.

I'm really not sure how to rate Broadway. If you hate crowds, being crammed into small bars with drunks and music so loud that you can't even have a conversation outside of the bar, then this place will be your absolute worst nightmare. If you love live music and being in the front rows of the pits and partying, this place will be everything you ever dreamed of. My best description of this place is, imagine if 100 sororities got together and they all said, "we're going to have a southern themed party". This is exactly what you would get.

  • Simone Collins

It's amazing how much it feels like a party out here even at random times, like a Monday afternoon. Certainly not like any other music street I've visited. Some I've spoken to compare if to the Vegas strip, but for people who don't like gambling and love music, as you can cover a lot of ground and listen to a ton of live bands over a very short period of time and without getting physically exhausted.

This is definitely a place that is very unique to Nashville. I don’t know very many cities where you can go into a bunch of places to hear live music from talented artists and pay absolutely no cover fee. It’s a really cool experience, even if you just walk down the strip and don’t go inside any bars. You can hear the music from the streets. Many of the bars have multiple floors that play different types of music and have both live bands and DJs. Highly recommended.

  • Thair Peterson

I can’t speak for the weekend, but on a Monday night the crowds were bearable and not too obnoxious. It’s certainly worth checking out. My main complaint were the bands. Given that this is a music mecca attracting thousands of serious musicians, one would think they could get some better cover bands, even on a weeknight. There are hundreds of people streaming through the door and buying drinks— they can afford to pay enough to attract some quality acts.

It was so much fun downed on the July 4th. We've been here before but it's gotten so much better. Crowd was 340,000, far surpassing predictions. Music was excellent at every bar and on main stage. Symphony playing during fireworks is always a delight. Strong police, security, EMT presence; security screening to get into street. We parked at arena and that worked well. Fireworks were astounding! 65,000 shells! This could become a family tradition.

If you ever find yourself curious about about the honky tonk feel this is the place to be. The place is filled with live honky tonk music, fun friendly people, and it’ll have you moving your feet to the beat in no time! Best part is there’s a variety of food trucks right down the street so you can grab you some grub before you head home.

I visited here just before the big NFL Draft event when they had stage set up and the media stand ready . The quite before the storm . I liked the way it looked and getting a chance to see what it was going to look like before the crowds got there . I don’t do crowds very well so I knew I would skip the event . But at least I could see the pavement which is more than what the visitors were actually able to see at that event .

An essential American experience even if, or especially if, you're not a country music fan. Several blocks of music venues, most with the band right in front of an open window. Of course most bands are country, but there's plenty of rock too. Excellent people watching, and the best collection of neon signs I've ever seen. Note: We visited on Tuesday, and it was really busy. I can't imagine what it's like on Saturdays!

  • Jennifer Velazquez

1st time coming to Nashville! Brother and sister in law took us to lower Broadway to check out the bars and such. Did not get to visit all of them as there are so many. That's ok, next trip! It was nice to see some places had "lines" but it was fairly quick to get into the bars. The lines were more so to control the people in and out. Can't wait to return?

Amazing raw energy vibe. Great live music, not only country but favourite 80's to contemporary rock. No cover when I went on any day. Very busy adding to infectious energy. Drinks solid strong. Very safe and friendly city, I saw nothing alarming. Nashville knows how to party! Highly recommend.

Got to experience this once in your lifetime. Friendly atmosphere, great music, talented musicians at every club, joint, bar, resturant. I went from 6 til 9, thats enough time to sit at a few venues and take it all in. After 9 the crowd get pretty drunk, reason for 4 star. Free music but musicians rely heavily on tips, I suggest at least leave a $5 at each place you visit, if you stay for a drink.

  • Sam Ogles

If you're passing through or visiting Nashville this is a must see. Go have dinner or drink while listening to one of a dozen different venues all playing music. There are also a few museums here that are pretty cool. Great place during the day or for night life.

It's a great place if you like Country music. Lots of live music and bars. It's very busy, lots of tourists. There's a lot of homeless people begging these days, sad. Yet some are professional at it. Beware. There's plenty of great restaurants too. We were there for Eric Clapton concert. The Holiday Inn is probably the best location to stay for walkability and not renting a car.

  • Brian Surtz

It is hard to describe how great the bands are. I was blown away. Everything starts early (noon) and there are adults of all age groups. If you love great music, nice people, crappy food, dancing, people watching, drinking... This place is for you. Even if not you can't help but like it. If you are a single guy there are tons of girls in Nashville. Lots of bachelorette parties.

  • Nikolas de Wit

Visiting the Honky Tonk Highway is a must do! Saturday night was packed with people, live music at every bar and shops as far as the eye could see! Police blocked off a majority of the road to pedestrians only after a certain hour of the evening.

Had a blast walking down Honky Tonk Highway. So many places to check out, every single one playing live music. The ones that are multi-level have a different band on each level! Absolutely recommend wandering down if you enjoy live music.

I just thought it was okay. Good, but they didn't tell me they had packets of BBQ sauce. That's the real reason for my score. I ate the whole plate without knowing they had sauce. And the sauce they had was in large industrial looking packets that weren't unique to the restaurant. Mac and cheese was on the smokey/salty side. Brisket was tender.

  • R Davis

Live music, drinks, good food, boot shops... Always a blast! Whichever Honky Tonk, it's easier to get a table or seat when they're between bands. Have plenty of cash to tip the bands. Make friends with your bartenders, they'll give you the best tips for navigating the highway (like which places you can use the back door to avoid the line).

  • K. Seymour

It was very crowded, drinks were not great but they were fast. I was not sure that people weren’t going to go over the side and there wasn’t much room for dancing or to fully enjoy the music. I wouldn’t go back.

We had a good time there. A group of 6 went for a friend's 40th. 4 stars because of the damn drink prices. Make sure to pre-game or do a little research. There are spots with cheaper beer. Also was told most of the iconic spots are owned by corporations now, that took a lot of charm out of it for me. Not sure if I'd ever go back.

  • Dan H

Good music in a historic spot. A little tight if you are at the bar as people walk in and out. Standard drinks are ok but found their pricing f a bit high for mid-shelf drinks so just verify before ordering.

I absolutely love Nashville!! We only had one night here but I got so excited when we stepped out of the Uber. There is an excitement here you can feel. We were in New Orleans a couple days before and although I was excited it just wasn't the same as going to Nashville. Want to go again when I have more time for sure!!!

Had a great time here bar hopping. When In Nashville this is the one place you must come visit. It’s super chill but also wild. I think that’s the country twist at its best. Kid rocks and Jason Adlens Luke Bryan’s and sooo many other fantastic places. 10 out of 10 highly recommend.

  • Wouter Roosen

We were caught by surprise here. There was a lot more happening than we thought. We expected a level of activity like we've seen in Austin or other cities, but this was on fire. So many bars with live acts. We weren't in a group so it became a bit too much and too intense for us.

Wow!! Such a lively town had so much energy it was amazing!! Perfect food, great views and jam packed bars everywhere with a band playing at every single one! Wait... did I mention the rooftop bars!?! You have to come visit this part of town!

  • Troy

Somewhat organized chaos. The bars will let in as many people as they can pack in. There doesn’t seem to be any fire code restrictions. Music is pumping out of every bar. Which is fantastic. Drinks and food are of course overpriced but part

  • Tom Brophy

If you like really loud country music played by amateurs trying to get famous along with paying way too much for watered down drinks in a crowded honky tonk, then you might like it. People are friendly but that is the rows only redeeming

  • Tracey

Wow! What a place! During the day, it's less busy, of course. But once evening hits, look out! It's a great time we tried to stop at many of the bars both day and evening. Some we just stopped in for a short time, others we stayed

Enjoy the street was blocked off for a birthday celebration for Tootsie who celebrated 62 yrs in business and all the music and entertainment. Went to many different bars and restaurants to see all the different bands as well. Fun trip

  • Juliet Martin

The craziest and most hedonistic pub stretch ever! Nonstop party action morning to nighttime. If the bars are overcrowded just hope on a mobile party and honky took to your hearts content. The only detractor was the construction sites.

  • Captain Dave

Great food and drinks. The drinks are great but a little expensive. Can't be all the choices. No cover charge to walk in and look around. If you like the place stay awhile if not just leave and find another. My family had a great time.

It’s dirty, it’s loud, it’s busy and crowded, you’re surrounded by drunk idiots and live music long into the night. It’s NashVegas, and it’s wonderful. Smells like Memphis, never used to back when I used to go in 2017.

Cool place, fun, active, but super expensive to drink. Bartenders were about a 4 out of 10 when it comes to personality, pretty dry and stand-offish. Buildings were great, live entertainment everywhere.
