I have fallen asleep to several great (?) movies at this incredibly comfortable Icon Cinema. The sleeping chairs are a dream, and you will be in a dream too after you recline to a near laying down position with your legs kicked out in front of you on the cloud like comfort of the foot rest. A foot rest that just so happens to be included with the price of any and every sleeping chair in the building. Every time I've come to Icon to catch some Zzz, I have never been disappointed even one bit. I've always experienced an incredible and refreshing nap, just as advertised! You want to really do your homework before deciding in which nap hall to reserve your sleeping chair. Some nap halls offer 2 hour naps, occasionally you can find one that is only 90 mins. The 3 hour plus nap halls are amazing, but you must be aware that any room offering a 3+ hour nap is going to be the loudest, have the most fun shots or Orc grunts, and overall have the most and loudest distractions. However, that extra time can give you a good head start on your nap and you can still end up with a full and revitalizing nap. The one you've always wanted. I say go get your nap on at Icon Cinema. The worst that could happen is you can't fall asleep and you end up watching some dumb movie instead.

So, last time I was here it was the dollar theater. Since then, it appears they've completely renovated it. Tickets were slightly cheaper than other theaters, unfortunately, the $3.50 "online ticket fee" made up for that. Seems like nothing more thana money grab. Unfortunately, despite that, the place felt cheap. The lobby was quite warm and was being cooled by two plug-in swamp coolers by the door. Maybe the renovation isn't done yet.... The theaters themselves were ok; however, once again everything felt cheap. The seats were practically new and were nice, but the cheap plastic feel of everything makes me wonder how it will hold up long term. Other recliner seats, like at the cottonwood regal, feel better. The seats have tables on them, which is quite nice. The popcorn and drink consessions are unlimited free refills, which is the only progress human kind seems to have made in the past few years. :D This made them feel like a good value for the money. All in all, I'd probably go back again, but don't drive across town for it.

Upon entering the movie theater the Security on site acknowledge us and greeted us making it a friendly entrance, the staff for tickets was very polite and prompt. There was 2 stalls in the bathroom out of order, leaving only 2 available to use but bathroom were neat and clean. The movie seats were very wide and comfortable they all had a small table that could go in front of you if needed or slide to the side and out of the way if not being used. There was buttons on the side of each chair to adjust and make your self comfortable either by raising your legs up and lowering and reclining the upper head section of the chair, there was also a small black plastic cover near the head that would slide in and out blocking the view to the next person sitting next to you! I tough those were pretty neat! Made us feel we were on our own little bubble. Well we liked the new place and we will definitely visit again and recommend the place.

Loved it !! Went here for the first time and loved it clean, very roomy for wheelchair ♿️ or mobility devices seats are comfortable and I like that they have a tray for you to set your drink and popcorn on have to say the popcorn and drink is great and you get free refills been back since my first visit and still enjoyed it the only thing negative I would have to say is the ♿️ handicap bathroom needs a bit more room and the tissue a little more excessible and it would be perfect and the handicap ramps are on both sides so you have to park on the side of building or walk a bit to get to the area there are no stairs other than that very nice theater.. Will definitely be back..

I love this theater i went back yesterday for the first time after icon took over it used to be a dollar show wich I loved loved but they renovated it it looks nothing like it used to be the theater is beautiful, clean, comfortable their tickets are way cheaper than other theaters their candy, unlimited refills for drinks and popcorn their employees are super nice and welcoming even the security guard the only problem is hot in the lobby also inside the auditorium is kinda hot and they need to improve their sound system I had to stop chewing in order for me to hear what they were saying other than that the theater is

This is our 2nd visit to Icon On San Mateo. We have enjoyed both of the visits. The seats are comfortable and adjust well. I personally don't care for the Built-in tables but I understand why they are there and are or based more on the the brew and and movie. I'm still able to access getting in-and-out of the seat OK so Hey so I just put my phone on it and my drink on it and let it be. I do appreciate that they have divided dividers between seats you can place, so that you are not seeing your neighbors as much. Quality of the theater is comfortable and service is helpful but not intrusive.

This used to be the dollar theater. They revamped the entire place. The lobby is uninviting, and the snacks are average. Good luck finding your soda fountain and assigned theatre ... This place was a labyrinth of inconvenience. However once in the theatre, it was complete comfort and it had a nice move able tray for your goodies as well as adjustable head dividers to ignore your chatty neighbor (my kids) and to enhance the sound experience. Would still attend this theatre repeatedly for the Tuesday discount days.

This new movie theater is so freaking awesome! I love their seats so much, because they recline, have a headrest, and have dividers to keep distance from strangers. The only problems are that one of the stalls in the men’s restroom didn’t lock and there wasn’t an arcade room to be found, even though I saw a change machine and game card dispensers. Other people have complained about it being too hot, but I found it to be the right temperature, maybe they fixed the air conditioner. I’ll definitely be back! :)

Seats are better than the other Icon in my opinion but today was a terrible experience the air conditioning is not working. I walked in and immediately notice it was several degrees hotter inside. There is two mobile swamp coolers in the lobby. When buying popcorn I asked if the issue was also in the theater and they said no. It was not as hot but definitely no air conditioning. My advice: if you see those coolers in the lobby, get out and drive the extra 20 minutes to the one in Central.

I screwed up and bought our tickets for the wrong Icon Theater. My three year old was ready to see the movie and wasn't stoked about having to get back in the car and go to another theater. The gentleman working the front could tell I was stressed and got the manager. Together they contacted the other theater and were able to get my tickets worked out. Thank you for making my day so much easier guys! Also the theater itself was very nice. Clean, comfortable seats and good views.

This is my favorite place to watch a movie! The staff are friendly and helpful, the ticket prices are the cheapest of the good quality theaters, there is a large selection of food, and the bathrooms are clean! The theater seats are comfortable, recline, have sliding privacy barriers, AND have adjustable food trays with cup holders attached. As far as I've seen, even when the theater is busy, you won't be shoulder-to-shoulder with everyone. I'd definitely recommend this place!

I went a couple of weeks ago and its great to see a new theater in what has been one for years. I really want to like this theater. Everything was great for the most part, and the staff was very nice. But it was very hot in the theater, and all the people packed into the space made it worse and worse. I would maybe expect something like that strolling through a thrift shop--but not at a movie theater. That was kinda insane. I will come back during the fall or winter.

Nice little new spot. It was nice to be able to pre purchase popcorn and drinks ahead of time. It was all self serve and it was our first time at this location so it was hard to find the drinks and the staff did not explain. It did seem like it was that particular staff person's first week. Kind of messy/dirty on the counters. The theater was clean and the chairs were really comfortable. I really like the trays for holding drinks and snacks and the privacy dividers.

I’m new to the area and the website said this location sold beer and wine. They do not. I specifically wanted that experience otherwise I would’ve gone somewhere else. Then they refused to give us a cup of water, made us buy a ridiculously expensive tiny paper cup drink in order to get water. Everything in this place feels generic and cheap. The seats are decent but this experience means I will never return to this company.

The layout is confusing cramped. There is no ticket booth, the line for concessions is the same as the ticket line. The employees were awesome but again they were all behind the concession stand so we couldn't find anyone to ask where our theater was without standing in line a second time. There's also a seperate area for food that gets very congested if theres more than 2 families in there. Overall a very chaotic set up.

Cool theater! Loved the reclining seats and head rest! Spacious and comfortable. Also more privacy with those little dividers by the head rest. FYI those move back, we didn’t figure that out until we were leaving. Awesome that the drinks and popcorn and drinks are self service and free refills! I recommend. 4 stars because the website kept kicking me out and freezing while purchasing tickets. Great place though.

Normally this place is great. However, it was a disaster. Customer service was terrible to the quality of snack items. Popcorn was stale, no butter, no ice, straws/napkins all over counters, floor was wet wuth spills, sodas were giving carbonated water and resulted in a slush, nachos was partially filled, pickle was not ripe or ready for serving. Overall, this experience was horrible- it just sucked.

I must say I went to another theater and was really disappointed I didn't go to the Icon theater on San Mateo Albuquerque. They're a whole lot cleaner, love the tray holder & chairs, clean bathrooms, the privacy slide by the head when people sit next to you. I did forget the staff friendly, provide suggestions, and the refills are great. I'm definitely going back to this theater only from now on.

Icon Cinema on San Mateo is very nice, they even put little tables in over your seat to put your food on. The only problem I could find was that they're just a bit too high. Other than that the place was great. I always went to the one on Central but I'm happy there's one 5 minutes from my house now. It was very clean inside the seats were comfortable. I will definitely go back here again.

The lady selling drinks and candy was waiting on a group of people having placed popcorn bucket on counter and cups. They then were asking questions about different movies, times, and asked what was at another theater. Meanwhile I am missing my movie. Five minutes of info services. The theater was clean, comfortable, and seats awesome. Now if Icon can just work on people skils.

Odd experience - we had to wait in a long concessions line to get our tickets that we already bought online (still unclear whether we even actually had to do that). The entire theater was hot and sticky and when we left, we saw a dead cockroach near our seats. It was otherwise fine and the seats were relatively comfortable. All staff we encountered were friendly as well.

Sure, the self-serve popcorn and Coca-Cola machines with unlimited refills are unique in the theater world, but what really impressed was the seats. Best theater seats I have ever sat in! The recline, the privacy screen, The swivel table. I was looking for a premium spot to watch the new Martin Scorsese film while in Albuquerque and this place did not disappoint.

Went to see a movie here for the first time today. It is really nice. Love the refillable popcorn and soda. Also lots of concession options to choose from. The reclining theater chairs are super comfortable. Staff are friendly and the place is really clean. Wish they would do this to the old dollar theater on the west side. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The theater was very clean including the restrooms I hadn't been to the movies for a while and it was different from when I went but I loved it the movie kind of sucked but that's okay the theater was awesome and the employees were great explaining stuff to me about the new theater. I would definitely recommend this place children family friends everyone

We have enjoyed the original Icon Cinemas in ABQ for years, and we’re excited to try out the new San Mateo location. From the moment we walked in, we experienced excellent customer service! The theater was clean and the seats are an upgrade from the other location. We also saw a sign that they’ll be serving beer and wine soon, can’t wait!

Very nice theater. These seats are so comfortable. Very adjustable and fluffy. I loved the seats. The little divider could be left down or put up. Very clean and new. I will definitely be back here for other movies. I love the free refills for the popcorn and the drinks/slushie. I hope you try this theater out. It was well worth it.

Bought tickets prior to going. Arrived only to be told that their computer was down, so no concessions. Seems to me since the theater seemed really slow that they should've comped a popcorn and a drink. We decided to go to the Icon on Central and Tramway instead. Not sure I can get a refund for the original tickets purchased.

The sound quality in the theater was poor. It sounded like my sound bar at home. I don’t even think it was surround sound. The seats were nice and comfortable but the theater was sweltering. Lobby is outdated but free refills on popcorn and drink were nice. However, I still wouldn’t recommend this theater.

Great cinema. It's not the freshest popcorn but it's unlimited and you can do your own butter. Unlimited drink refills and the comfortable seats recline and have dividers. It's never crowded here. Sound guys need to work on their levels but that's really my only complaint. 10/10 best theater in the city

I love this place I like watching movies here everyone is so nice and everything is always nice and clean and all the employees are really nice it's just one person there is just kind of demanding and always thinks that she knows what she's doing even though she's an employee and not the manager

Nice seats. Popcorn is made in what appears to be made in a swell swoop so may not be fresh. You do get to put in your butter. You dispense your own drinks. Yay tables are nice to have, but for a 5'2" woman they are a little tall. Theatre was clean as were the bathrooms.

Highly recommend this place. Clean, great courtesy service, free refills and chairs recline with a tray and a shield on the side to block your side neighbors from view. I have been there several times and will continue to recommend it to my friends and family

The first time was this week. It was really neat, comfortable chairs. No stairs just a ramp up and down the aisle. Concession is reasonable, and it's a self-service drink and popcorn all refillable. Have been back a few times and still really great theater.

Staff was very pleasant, but waited a looong time for concessions with very few customers in line. Self-serve drink area was out of ice and sodas were running out and dispensing either pure syrup or carbonated water. Theater seats were clean and comfy.

We stumbled upon this place from dining at a near by restaurant. The seats were super comfy, you get your own popcorn and add the butter yourself, and get your own drinks. I will definitely come here again. It was clean and comfy and we loved it.

It is a good place to enjoy movies. It has friendly staff, self-helped soda and snacks. The restroom is clean. The screen room is clean too. Chairs are comfortable and have private spacing board, which I think is great for a couple or a family.
