TSA at terminal 7 is a joke. After clearing the initial screening (validation of pre-check on my boarding pass) we were directed to the Pre Check lane. When waiting for TSA agent to clear us with our boarding passes and ID, TSA closed lane 2 and pre-check passengers were directed to lane 3. When TSA finally got things together (so I thought), we were called forward to present our ID and boarding pass. Once through we began to put our items on the belt. At this time we were told to remove all electronics and place them in the trays on the belt. I asked why as we were precheck. We were then told that this is not a precheck lane. To which I disagreed with the female agent informing her that “we are precheck and we were moved over to this lane when you closed the other one.” The female agent again said this is not precheck and proceeded to call over her male supervisor. I informed the supervisor that we were precheck to which he said “there isn’t any precheck.” To which I responded again that we were in the precheck lane and were moved over when they closed the other lane.” He again said “there is no precheck.” The female agent then demanded that we put all electronics in the bins. And stated that “precheck is not available at every airport.” She then asked us to see our boarding pass to verify if we were in fact precheck since she just “can’t take our word for it.” Upon hearing this ridiculous statement I showed her my boarding pass to which she responded “thank you.” At which time nothing changed and we were ordered through the screening machine. TSA at terminal 7 lacks any and all professionalism. They are completely disorganized and there is a lack of service as a precheck member having paid for this expedited service. People should be disgusted at this abhorrent government entity and the employees that we are forced to interact with.

This terminal is lucky to get a 1* review. We have travelled all over the world and ended up in airports likened to cattle sheds. I expected that after an amazing experience in NYC that flying out if JFK terminal 7 would be a dream. From when we arrived we were concerned about the way the staff spoke to one another in the Brindle Bar shouting across the bar at each other and demeaning an older member of staff. It was limited with regards to places to eat but we ended up at true burger. What a mistake. I rarely write a review but sitting in an airport now eating a cold burger after paying nearly 40 dollars for 2 burgers and waiting over 30 minutes to get them. The airport is has a community project vibe with staff and service very poor. There is also some big dog pushing his weight around the airport like he is something important. It is clear that staff are scared of him and his bullying. Very strange experience. I have taken the time to write this because I am genuinely shocked that BA would allow their travellers to experience what we have today. Its safe to say that we will avoid flying to this airport again and I feel deeply sorry for anyone who has to do the same.

Weirdly the terminal isn’t reviewable on google, so people seem to be sticking reviews in the light rail station page, and I guess I’ll jump on that bandwagon. Not sure why virgin America flies domestic out of JFK Terminal 7. It may end as VA does. It’s a tiny terminal that feels temporary, but the small size probably means security gets less gnarly, it certainly is on the tuesday morning I’m flying. They don’t even have a global entry line it’s so small, although having precheck means one needn’t remove one’s shoes, so that’s a nice perk. The security line is super inefficient but again there are few enough people that it works out. I see no boutique food options, just some pungent pizza, not a ton of bathrooms, there’s a BA lounge. It’s quick and easy to get around, I think there are only about 10 gates. The seats are hard plastic on the bottom, with some padding on the back. There’s a weird couch in a corner by gate 1 hat seems to be going for a distressed vintage look, but I’m not sure about couches in airports, so I’ll pass. Not a terminal where I’d want to be stuck for a while but it’s fine for getting in a plane.

Probably the worst airport terminal I have ever experienced in the 'developed' world. Instead of delivering an organised security and emigration procedure, a guy walks up and down the minimum 45 minute queue advertising a... drumroll... "premium" fast track service (available only to those with US credit cards or ID). The lines are chaotic, crammed, and so a disease super spreader event. You will be met by the usual chip on the shoulder TSA staff, some of the rudest people on the planet. Disgusting food options on the other side mean I would rather starve and skip dinner before a night flight - at least I save my cash. Fortunately the airline provided a late, edible meal. I will check carefully in the future to avoid this disaster zone at all costs. No wonder I got a cheaper fare travelling through this dump. It's a disgraceful terminal that should be permanently closed.

Worst international terminal for a major international hub I have ever been in!!! I couldn’t believe I was in an airport in New York!? Extremely limited dining/fast food options (I counted 6 outlets if you include Dunkin Donuts. Another 2 under renovation). 1 very Limited Duty free shop. 2 news agents. A little warning. If you choose to eat from ‘Burger Joint New York’, expect to wait 15-20mins for your burger and fries. A beer will set you back $10.99. My advice, eat before you go to this poor excuse for an international terminal. The Service level is standard and dependent on the individual. But Nothing positive about this terminal at all. Worst then most major budget airline terminals. Why is BA operating out of this terminal? Not even priority check in for BA.

  • Owen Huynh

Worst terminal in JFK! Not sure what BA is doing, operating from here. Everything operates so slowly, even if you are a priority passenger. Concord lounge has no showers of their own, showers in Galleries lounge are so old that they are covered in stains, gate areas are always blocked, wifi is very patchy... But the worse is when you arrive here! Immigration always has a long queue which takes at least an hour to get through. If you have someone picking you up, be sure to tell them to come well after the plane lands. Honestly, I would rather not fly BA to avoid this terminal, even though I am a frequent flyer with them.

I am shocked at how small, unappealing and uninviting JFK terminal 7 is. Not sure if some of it because of Covid, but except for the Hudson store, most staff came across as very unprofessional and rude. Most food outlets were shut down when I reached around 2130hrs and those that were open didn't have many options listed on their menu- so best not to rely on getting a meal before a late night flight, especially if you coming with kids. I wanted to give it 1 star, but the only reason I have given 2 stars is because of the Hudson store which had some cold food options and the staff there was also polite than the rest.

  • John Benson

Awful airport experience. After an amazing week in New York where everyone was so friendly it was really strange to end here. The staff right from check in, security and the limited dining options are so rude. To the point where it’s uncomfortable. One staff member in jeans and shirt seems to go around all of the different food/beverage options and intimidates staff. The way they talk to each other is awful. I just hope the security staff is a different group otherwise I’d have serious concerns for airport safety. I’ve never had an airport experience like it. So weird! Such a shame for British Airways and USA.

  • Simon Earp

Appalling experience at terminal 7 jfk. 80 minutes queue at security with no organisation, understaffed and morose personnel. Once through dispatched by more soulless personnel to a cluttered area with a dozen office chairs for re-assembling kit. To cap it all the terminal is unable to process non cash transactions. The place has the feel of a working men’s club and not a good one. Priceless; possibly the worst airport terminal experience ever. How can Changi be so good and JFK be so bad? Post note: just been to the toilets; thought it couldn’t get worse but it has. Disgraceful.

  • Zachary Conrad

What an absolute disgrace. My brother was returning from leave back to Alaska with the Air Force. He has a large size dog in a crate and all of his luggage. The parking lot was closed so my mom had to drop him and his dog off in a no parking zone. My mom had to go in with him to hold his dog while he filled out his paperwork. In the meantime some glorified meter maid had her car hooked to a tow truck during the 15 minutes she was inside and she couldn’t go back in to say wouldn’t let her go back in to say goodbye to him before he left. Do better flatlanders.

  • Emilia LP

Worst experience at security check EVER. One employee took off my rack while I was not finished yet. Another emptied my bag on the conveyor belt. But the worst was this security guy who asked me to change line to go under a different security gate. So I let my child (3 yo) go first under the gate, and wait for the sign to go next, as you usually go one by one. But he just tells me in a patronizing way "are you ok Mam? Is this your child ? Is this my job to tell you to go with your child ?". My goodness. Never seen this kind of behavior anywhere else.

  • Kevin Michalski

Terminal 7 is an average airport in the USA - decrepit, depressing, and devoid of life. Once past security, there are no fast food chains. There are only weirdo "bistros" and "eateries" that sell $14 sandwiches. I highly recommend bringing your own food. I found the gate layout to be claustrophobic. Two neighboring gates were boarding at roughly similar times, and the crowd of people was impossible to navigate. It was also difficult to hear the intercom messages from flight staff announcing the boarding sequence.

  • Gary Whelan

This is THE worst experience i have had in any terminal in any airport around the world. The food is disgusting, unapologetically so. If you could design a bad user experience for travellers, this is the barometer. Absolute filth for food we received. Firstly the choice is limited to what could only be described as third world level rip-offs of more recognisable food brands. But it was even worse when we got it. For an international airport, JFK you guys should be many levels above that

  • Lia Qualls

The restrooms are dirty. Very little information about connecting flights. I had to Google where to go for my connecting flight (from terminal 8 to 7). Signs for the Airtrain are very confusing. Some security personnel are rude. The lady with the gold vest who directs people on where to go at security, is the rudest person I have ever met. She speaks to people as if they are lower beings than stray dogs. I can't believe that she still has a job.

  • Brian Stark

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, ... , it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair The words never would have been written by Dickens had he been through TSA in Terminal 7. Bereft of optimism, his updated text would have read"Abandon all hope ye who enter here, the Jabberwocky has come for your soul."

  • Jennifer Van Zant

Trash all over the place. Women's restroom nearest the food court was horrific. The stall doors were barely hanging on. No hooks to hang your bags with the toilet overflow on the ground. And no toilet paper. If I were British Airways, I would be embarrassed to fly out of this airport. Over priced and extremely limited food and beverage selection as well. Not a happy traveler at the moment.

  • O H (Olly)

Very small terminal, 3 or 4 shops and a couple of restaurants, couple of coffee shops. Very expensive in stores for snacks and drinks.. $8 for a bag of Welch's candies?! Make sure you bring your own food/snacks before you get to the airport. Don't arrive too early as there is very little to entertain you once through security. Thought security queue moved reasonably fast and efficiently.

  • Nicolas GENTY

Worst security ever! Never seen a security line like this for an international airport. 1h30 of waiting during the rush hour (5-7pm) in a big room with 10 labyrinth lines. The estimated time is unknown, nobody tells you nothing except : "thank you for waiting" over PA. Only two posts of security for 10 planes of 400 people. Make the math ! You can nothing but take margin. Be careful!

  • Alan Staton

We used the air train to Manhatten and although a little out of my comfort zone, the whole rail system was easy to navigate. The airport checking was very quick with no hitches. There's plenty of shops for food and drinks and last minute gifts & presents. Most of the seats have plugs and USB charging points for free use. Toilets looked a bit dated but were clean so that's good.

  • Khai's Happy Feet UK

First time in JFK terminal 7 and the experience is appalling! Security personnel were so rude (I’m talking about those people not originally from the US… like me) and I didn’t understand why they were always angry! I understand the need to be strict but there’s no need to be rude! This security agency (PROSEGUR) needs to be retrained! I hope they weren’t trained to be rude!

  • Melissa Dawn

JFK terminal 7 is super small with hardly any where to eat or shop. It’s cool because it’s not busy and we did see a famous person walk by lol. You cant pick and choose your terminal so it’s fine as it’s chilled and quiet. We flew with BA back to London but as terminals go there really isn’t much to do or see or buy which I guess is good as it saves you some dough!

  • Anders Kirkemo

Undoubtedly the worst airport I've ever been to, and I've seen a few on all continents. Staff are rude, unfriendly and disrespectful. An airport is a service facility. Safety is paramount, obviously - but all other airports I've seen manage to cater to that need in a far better way. Obviously management is either absent or has failed completely. Avoid if you can.

  • Cris Hazzard

Basic terminal and amenities. Construction going on with a lot of the areas in the terminal now. If you don't have lounge access the seating is rather limited. TSA are standard sub-par JFK folks who don't know if they are on a Pre-Check lane or not and might ask you to take off your shoes even if you're Pre. Set your expectations low and give yourself some time.

  • Zuzana Tran

I have never been to a worse terminal in my life. They propably employ the worst employees here and teach them how to be rude as much as possible. One women in Deli & Market said they are closed and after 15 mimutes we saw there were people ordering in the line. Disgusting Dunkin and no prise tags in other shops. If possible avoid this hell.

  • Sophia Monfardini

Currently undertaking renovations so a absolute lack of services with 1 working restroom (with broken water fountain outside the u/s one). A couple of places to have a warm meal but might as well take your own sandwich as they are not worth it. Really hope once the works are done it there is a significant improvement!

  • Mark Wright

Positives: Check-In and clearing security was much nicer and much quicker than experiences of other terminals in JFK Negatives: Severely limited food and drink options once through security especially compared to other JFK terminals or other US airports. I've had more options at regional airports in the UK.

  • Gow Traithavil

Saddest airport ever. The building is old with low ceiling. The place is poorly lit, looks sad and is not very clean. Not many restaurants to choose from. A couple of restaurant spots are left empty--more like abandoned actually. The only place to get coffee did not have the espresso machine working.

  • Klaus Bender

Nowhere to sit before check-in or buy food/coffee if you arrive 5 hours before your flight like me. Terminal 1 is your destination if you have long long time to wait before your flight. Unfortunately there is not even sign telling you where to find foodcourt. You can use free train to travel.

  • Alicia Garcia

Literally the worst terminal I've ever been in. The stores are all closed, no food venues are opened and when they are, you get the slowest and laziest service, resulting in cold food. The whole area is grungy and the staff are the least helpful. JFK airport is a joke in my opinion

  • Kevin Hughes

Not enough adequate seating in terminal. No staff visable or available to help with directions. On entry only 2 border control staff working and dealing with 3 flights. 2. 5 hours just to get to the border control from plane. Will be paying more to fly to Newark next time

  • Luke Hanna

Absolutely dismal and depressing, a mess, scruffy, and prices for food & drink are extortionate, over $4 for a small bottle of water? $13 for less than a pint of beer? All staff just seem depressed and pissed off! Contrast this place to Heathrow! Worlds apart. Misery!

  • Oles Malkov

Not a place one could expect from a NY airport terminal. No places to buy some food or even water until you pass a security check. I came here 7 hours before a flight because I have a connected flight from here and spent nice 4 hours just sitting on a chair...

  • Nigel

Talk about a terrible terminal… where do you even begin? And they are shameless about it. Staff are resigned to “this is just how we are left to roll here…”. I travel all the time and will avoid here whenever possible. Meanwhile Aer Lingus chose to move here…

  • Dimitri Chernyak

Third world country airport. Horrible!!! Waited over 2 hours to pass customs because these people do not have enough agents! Maybe should not book so many flights if you can’t process passengers. Whoever is the manager of this terminal should get terminated.

  • Eamin Zhang

The security line was 1hr+ long on an Wednesday afternoon and the lady at the help desk was so rude, she used words like “stop bothering me, I’m very busy”. Worst airport terminal I’ve ever been. It makes me wanna avoid flying Alaska from JFK in the future.

  • Liam O'Brien

The best thing about Terminal 7 @JFK is LEAVING it. Terrible selection of BAD food, awful service and overpriced food. I literally can't think of one for thing to say about it. Very surprised some 'premier' European airlines are using this Terminal.

  • Rick Titone

The international arrivals hall at Manila airport looks good compared to this. Only one restroom next to baggage claim. Poor lighting, low ceilings and crowded conditions make a terrible first impression on visitors and returning New Yorkers here.

  • Naomi H

Worst airport terminal ever! Alarms, construction noise, and dust so thick you can see it in the air. Food options are pathetic (think day old prepackaged salad with wilted greens or sandwiches where the bread and toppings have become one).

  • Jim Blinn

I flew out on a Saturday morning and was able to check in with British airways with no issue. The line at security moved really slowly as the TSA had only opened up two xray lines. Make sure to get there early if you have a morning flight

  • Artjoms Minajevs

Although clean and relatively well kept, you can’t compare even to smaller European airports. There are shops, but the selection is limited. Food is almost non-existent and the prices are insane for a lower than average quality

  • Marco Monteforte

Terribile experience, staff are rude and place unorganised and chaotic. At jfk airport I would expect more security lines and not poor service typical from 3rd world country. It's a disgraceful terminal that should be closed.

  • Frank K

Terminal 7 has been under major construction for the last two years. First class lounge for Alaska Air has been completed. British Airways lounge still in the works. The food court will be completed by the end of April.

  • Ariel Loh

The food is an absolute joke. Grab *anything* from the bodega on the way out and it will be better. Baggage claim consistently ~30 minutes after deplaning. You’d think Cuomo and Deblasio was running this place.

  • Kat

They have a dedicated TSA Precheck lane but never have it open, even when there are tons of people so everyone is crammed into one security lane and it always takes forever. The bathrooms need to be renovated.

  • Dorn Redd

Honestly surprised at some of the bad reviews. This small terminal is a hidden gem in JFK. Small number of gates. Really smart looking shops. Courteous TSA and gate staff. My experience was terrific.

  • Alex McAlexFace

Be prepared to take out a mortgage for the sub standard prepackaged garbage food. Lines for security are absurdly long too, leave in plenty time. The terminal itself is depressing, cry me a river.

  • Stephen Spencer

Terrible terminal. Lacks power outlets and seating. Very limited food and drinking choices. Public toilets are a disgrace. The whole place screams "screw you the passenger". Simply appalling.

  • Andrew Page

Very quiet terminal Seemed to be just for British Airways Security was very friendly - yes, really Outside there was a queue of taxis, not a queue for taxis Easy access to train for city too

  • Dougal Mckenzie

It's like this terminal takes pride in being the worst at JFK. Security is a disaster, as is baggage, the taxi queue and pick up zone. Makes me want to avoid the airlines that fly here.

  • Maria D.

Horrible airport, one of the worst i’ve been to. Everything is outdated, the staff is disinterested and rude. No fast track, no lounge (at least if flying with SAS).

  • Austin

Us Customs was a nightmare. It's took longer than my cross-Atlantic flight. One for for having only one person working the counter and holding up around 300 people.

  • Julia Cencebaugh Kloth

Worst flight experience of my life. No hot food, long waits because of international travel. Iceland is chic AF but Icelandic air was screwed! #icelandicair

  • Rick

Nice smaller terminal at JFK No lounges for Air Canada, although they fly from there. None take Priority Pass Membership. High prices for food. Free wifi

  • Marie Ward

Aer lingus. . What have you done moving here! Awful awful awful. Bar staff so rude and slow.... the store staff so rude. It's a mess!

  • Adrian

Parking at Terminal 7 is closed for more than 3 months and there are no signs on where to go for short term parking. Complete chaos!

  • Panu Pihl

A small terminal, but big enough to make a mess of security control. Wifi keeps cutting off all the time. International Airport?

  • Hector Cruz

To slow, to many lines, the personal of security its zero educate, i recommend to arrive at airport at least 3 hours earlier

  • Ariel Giraudo

Nice terminal, but small. Not many options available to spend time there. Non existent before the security check

  • Photobooth Bluth

Worst TSA experience ever. Despicable abuse of their power. This supervisor is racist and homophobic.

  • Dariusz Wachowiak

Nice, small terminal. All you need - food, shops, etc. Plenty seats, usb chargers, etc.

  • Karrussell T

There is an organized method for Ride Share customers and drivers. Seems to work.

  • Bruce Tamanaha

Long walk from arrival gate to passport control. Fast through passport control.

  • Ebrahim Ahmed

Ranks slightly better than Terminal 1,2 but far behind Terminals 4,5,7

  • Shishir Kairy

Super cool airport! Terminal 7 is new and not much crowded.

  • dan easdon

Terrible service and poor selection of restaurants.

  • Emory Brown

Not bad for such a busy airport at terminal 7

  • Dr. Erdal OZKAYA

Old and needs an upgrade for sure

  • Alan Mitchell

Dirty, dusty, poor food services

  • Oskar Wismierski

No direct taxi access.. terrible
