I've been to this place 3x in the past fortnight, first was lunch, second was afternoon tea/snack, and third was Father's Day breakfast. I think it's time I give this place a break. Their coffees are not bad, I've had it at each visit. I was fine with the first two visits, prices and servings were reasonable for what we ordered - but I was most shocked at the breakfast fare. When we ordered waffles, we were expecting waffles made on-site, not fresh out of a packet, and lastly, expected 2 pieces at least, considering the size of the waffle and the ridiculous price for it. We were very disappointed to say the least. When we've paid that much for waffles or pancakes at other brunch cafes, we never regretted where our money went. Big breakfast was also the same. While the whole plate was delicious, the scrambled eggs need some work. I think their chef needs to go back to culinary school because as far as I believe,  perfecting scrambled eggs are usually an indication of a good cook. Our cutlery and glasses were also dirty. Our drinks came late and we never got served any butter for our ordered big breakfast plates. This place needs some healthy competition.  At the moment, it seems people are so  willing to overpay for most items because it's the only decent eatery in the area. I would probably visit again only for the coffee.

No vegan options, and if you want to make something vegan they charge you for the add in, instead of swapping out the ingredient that you're not getting. Despite the staff member saying they can make something vegan, then just proceed to charge extra for the "swap". This made a breakfast and coffee $30 when it should have only been low $20's... Disappointed that such a modern cafe in a modern area doesn't cater for a very common dietary requirement in 2023. Like, come on, there is the code VE for vegan on their menu but none of their dishes are vegan, only the smoothies. The avocado was tangy, clearly not fresh and the bread was so dry it disintegrated to crumbs when I went to cut it. When I was leaving I had my hands full with a baby and a pram, staff floating around everywhere but no one thought to open the door for me, another patron thoughtfully got up from their table (with their child in a high chair) to offer me help to leave. Quite disappointing.

Used to be a nice place, but now you need to wait for 30 minutes to get a cold drink and a cookie. The quality of the place and the experience just falls downhill. P.S. Your passive-agressive stance is misguided. You're blaming me for not sharing how good you were back when you were good? Well, I did better. I dragged every friend who visited me in Lightsview, every colleague, even my mom and her friends to your place to show them, that there's some good cafes in a very mediocre Adelaide's landscape. Your problem is not in your customers, but in you business decisions. You have staff shortage? Rethink what you are offering to you staff to get more and better people. Train your staff to be attentive to your customers. Train them to say something like "Iced long black? Sure, but it'll take half an hour. Do you want to wait?" So your customer can decide if it's a good idea to sit in your place for 30 minutes in front of empty table waiting for coffee or I'm better off to my own place and make me a cuppa in 5 minutes. Grow up.

(I've been here regularly for the past 3 years) The food is good, kinda spenny though. And they use too big of plates for the serving size. And now the place surcharges out the arse... It's not the 1.2% or whatever for using eftpos, it seems like they just round up to the next dollar??? They don't tell you the actual price you're paying either, they tell you the price before all the secret surcharges, which is even sillier... The staff are very sloppy at cleaning tables and I've even had a staff member confess to his own lie about my coffee having oat milk when it didn't... (too long of a story for here). Anyways, from the few points from above me and my partner are voting with our feet and not going back.

We absolutely love the pizzas here, A1 for flavour! The pizza maker is a lovely gentleman with a great attitude and pizza know-how with every bite being amazing! The owner is a lovely guy too, with a pleasant attitude. The service from the wait staff needs to be addressed, they're generally snooty, impolite and arrogant..with the exception of once being good. The Atmosphere is cold and uninviting. The decor should be warmed up and maybe a few heaters could be installed above indoor tables..if an open fireplace isn't an option. Wrap your laughing gear around the pizzas here! Thoroughly recommend.

To negate the other review, yes they do take bookings, they took our dinner for 10 reservation. I would definitely come back for the pasta. I was lucky enough to order pasta and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. It was flavorful and the prawns tasted great, just a heads up the trails do have the shell still, but I did pay extra for the prawns so you can always skip it. The down side was the pizza, the base and the ingredients were good but the pizza lacked flavor, can't put my finger on what the pizza needed. Perhaps just a bit longer in the oven?? Not sure. They also allow for split bills which is the biggest upside for a large group of friends when it comes time to pay. Thanks for the food!

Amazing breakfast place in the heart of lightsview - a great addition to a great, modern area Lightsview is a great new area that boasts some of Adelaide's newest architecture, and this place is a fantastic addition to it I love how the building looks and where it's located; and we haven't even started on the food yet! In 1 word - delicious. Great classic flavours at fair prices, served by friendly staff who are more than accommodating. If you're looking for a place to brunch, or to spend some time with family in an open environment, this place is worth a go

Bright and spacious cafe with outdoor seatings for you to enjoy the perfect weather. Love the latte art. The matcha latte was bit diluted. Seafood pasta was tasty and had generous servings of seafood in it. Sweet potato fries were crispy and tasty, goes well with the mayo. The meat platter was huge. Fries were bit soggy unfortunately.. And the chicken was quite blend. The ribs were the best, and very tender, wish I could have more of that. Beef was not bad but could use bit more sauce to it. Bit on the pricey side for the quality.

Had a below average glass of juice, which cost $10.50. The place was packed and loud. Parking is difficult. It was clearly popular but maybe due to the convenient location for those who live in the area.

I like the vibe and setting of this place. The coffee is very good and made by a guy who looks like he knows what he’s doing... but he might be the only one. New place, so they are forgiven, but it seems like the floor staff are inexperienced and have no real systems in place. Need to communicate their tasks better. This being said, they are all very polite. My poached eggs were cold when they came out. But it was still a nice breakfast. I will continue to go for a bit to see if these things improve.

  • Emma Walker

Such a nice place! Great for a brunch or lunch. Being right near the lake too, it's a beautiful way to spend a day especially if it's sunny! Inside is lovely too, either way you'll have a nice time. And their cocktails are tasty too - It would of been rude not to try one! Pets are welcome to sit with you outside aswell. All in all, I had a really nice time at Jibbi & Co

Great location but I can never enjoy my food or coffee when im sitting outside as staff ALWAYS drag the gate when putting their rubbish in the large bins outside(located in the carpark surrounded by a square gate). I dont understand why they drag it. It makes a loud noise and ruins my experience. I wish they would change this and use common sense. I've had friends in the area tell me the same thing and they sometimes don't even go to jibbis when they have their little ones.

Casual spot overlooking the new lake. Modern location with indoor and outdoor seating. Coffee is fine. Baked cheesecake were good especially since I’m not normally a big fan. Lemon meringue tart with its soft gooey Italian meringue topping was awesome. Service was efficient and friendly. Scratchy radio “music” needs work. Try a playlist or something. Open for dinner too which means you can get coffee after 4pm - an extreme rarity in Adelaide.

  • Tarvinder Singh

Not a good experience, Olivia was rude. We are an indian couple came for a coffee and the looks these guys give us. We came for a good coffee but they need customer service skills too. She served 2 people before and was all jolly, she looked at us and that look she gave, as if we dont understand these facial expressions. If i was owner, Olivia either will be sent home or given good enough training to keep their personal bias in her pocket.

Good menu choices and space for indoor or outdoor eating and grassed area right out the front. Plenty of outdoor seating if you don't mind braving the occasional confrontation with some pigeons. On my visit the tables were not regularly cleaned which allowed the pigeons to feast. Prices slightly higher than expected but quality of food and drink overall was good.

The best thing about this place is the ambience located between light view like a hidden gem. The seating and the view is just amazing, anyone would be enticed to just stop by and sit down for a cuppa anytime. The food menu is elaborate. I unfortunately went between 3& 5 pm when the kitchen was closed and could only enjoy a coffee with an almond cheese cake which wasn’t too bad. Overall amazing atmosphere

  • Lien Nguyen

Been here a couple times for brunch and lunch and have enjoyed it everytime! Great menu with a variety of foods to choose from. This time we went for dinner and yet again, I was not disappointed! My partner had the classic beef burger (their chips are always on point) and I had the penne gamberi (quite generous with their prawns!) Service was good and a lovely location just next to the Lightsview lake.

  • Maria James

I had chicken and avo wrap which i didnt think much of. I found it dry as some chicken pieces were burnt, which made it also bitter. It was in need of some sauce and perhaps a bit more thought to the plating. Just my thoughts. Atmosphere and service was great.

Waited so long for my late & was cold when i received it. Also the iced coffee was $8 & no cream or icecream, give that a minus review. Then i was charged 30 cents, i presuming for paying by credit. I was not informed of the fee. Have been there b4 & ok but this visit was awful & will never go back. Minus 5 star review.

Went there on two separate occasions, a random weekday brunch and Sunday breakfast. Both times the food were delicious and the service were excellent. Even on a busy Sunday morning we didn't have to wait too long for food. The waitstaff were efficient and well-skilled (a definite plus in my book)

A hidden gem in lightsview overlooking the lake. Great food, great service, great location. They serve all 3 meals. We went there for some coffee and dinner. The Al Gamberi pasta was out of this world. It's a penne pasta with tiger prawns (I just got only 2 :( ) and crab meat in a rose sauce.

Nice big Cafe with lots of seating and fresh decor, over looking man made lake. Servers are friendly. Service was efficient. Had eggs Benny with Bacon. Eggs were cooked perfectly, hollandaise was good, but $5 extra for 2 slices of shortcut bacon is a bit underwhelming. Coffee was good

Great place for brekky. Staff greeted us with a smile, coffee was perfect and food was delicious and reasonably priced. Jibbi has a great atmosphere due to its surroundings so for those people who live close by you should feel privileged!! A great place!! We will be back.

Unfortunately they don’t take bookings so it’s a first come first serve, there’s ample seats inside and outside on the decking. Parking is limited in the small car park out the back but there’s more room on the surrounding side streets. Breakfast burgers were a standout.

Cafe is on my morning walk with the dog when I visit Adelaide, not many options around. Coffee isn’t bad, tend to overheat so I get soy over almond and almond burns too easily. Breakfast is simple but nice. And view of pond is lovely with ducks.
