After being forced to give a few low review scores of late I was getting ready to be unhappy with Jack loves Red before I even gave it a shot, a trendy, newly opened, pizza / burger joint... come on this is going to be... actually pretty great. Prices weren't exactly cheap, on the other hand they weren't expensive either. When walking in with two kids below 7 there is often a look in the wait staffs eyes you start to recognise and that was completely missing here, our lovely waitress offered pencils and paper and took an immediate order for appetisers almost before we were seated. She was also patient while we sorted out the order (not always fun with two kids). The food was good, I want to say simple but that seems disrespectful, so let's call it straightforward and classic. The wait was entirely reasonable and the only delay in the service was while our afformentioned excellent waitress was busy serving other customers. On the whole good vibe, better food and even better service, can't wait for our next visit.

I've eaten in store once and had takeaway several times and I've never yet had a bad experience. The food was a little slower to be delivered tonight but I'm putting that down to the fact that it's a Saturday. It still arrived hot and fresh and delicious! The chips were crispy and crunchy, just the way I like them, and the burger was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. If I had to make one complaint it would be that the bottom half of the bun had gotten a little soggy from the sauce. Didn't affect the flavour at all though and it still held together all right! The price is pretty much what you expect at a restaurant and I find the serving size to be good. Overall I definitely highly recommend this place and would have no hesitation in recommending it to friends, family or colleagues!

We ordered pulled pork burger, Australian pizza and beer batterd flake. I'm not so fond of burger because to me burger just "bun with sloppy meat in between" and most of the time I chose something else over it. However, I must admit that this pulled pork burger was amazing, even the bun itself was tasty. Just simply delicious. The pizza was good too. Only the beer battered flake is not that special. Just okay. The fish was bland and bit soggy and oily. The place is small and always busy. Better to do reservation since you may not be able to get a seat during rush hour. Will surely come again and choose different menu. Or burger? Let me think....

After being delivered on of their takeaway menus, their selection sounded wonderful after a long day. We arrived without booking and while most tables were reserved there were two free at the back. Even in a darker area the lighting was enough and there wasn't too much noise even being by the kitchen (it was nice being able to see pizzas and sundaes being made). The in house menu was even bigger than the takeaway menu. We ordered the Smokey Badit pizza and Beef Goulash, along with the Duck Spring rolls. All were wonderful! Well cooked, flavourful, and brought out in a timely manner. Will be returning to sample the rest of the menu!

**update July 2022** Just visited again for a dine in experience, the pizza cook tonight was phenomenal, best pizza we have had in years. When I went to compliment the cook, apparently she was sadly on break. ** previous review** Generally fantastic pizza and fair prices! Occasionally as with any Pizza restaurant they get a different pizza cook on and it doesn't have the usual magic. But hands down the best Pizza in Kingston area. Delivery is nearly always on time, hot and fresh! Dining in is also a great experience with friendly and quick service.

Have not been there not likely to either emailed them earlier today and upto now 5:45pm they have not replied. We actually rang at 5:25 and asked if they were taking seated diners and if they had a table for 3 the person was un able to understand my plain speaking hubby. After he stated again what he wanted they just said no room tonight and hung up. Their site states only take away or home delivery so they need to clear a few things up. They have lost table for 3 and the purchase of 2 gift vouchers. Though in attentive service a big no no in this time. W. King

We waited for over 25 minutes and we only ordered burgers. The buns were disappointing; stale and low quality tasting, as if they had been purchased at Woolies. The beef pattie was a bit dry and slightly undercooked. The overall taste was a bit like eating a school lunch sandwich. The chips were good though, golden and crispy and cook for long enough. The accompanying aioli was nice and garlicy and had the proper texture. My husband had the pulled pork burger, and he said the pulled pork was good.

we have always gone to JLR since they opened up, tonight was reminded of how awesome they are!! clearly super busy and under the pump this evening with dine in, deliveries and pick up orders but still managed to smash out our pizzas so quick. always fresh, hot and delicious, best pizza ever!! many bday dinner’s had here each year and takeaways more than likely each week, never had a bad experience. staff are always lovely and helpful and food is faultless

Jack Loves Red is one of my local dining places of choice. The breakfasts are wonderful-and they have crispy bacon down to a fine art.The staff are very attentive and friendly. Pizzas are a speciality but everything else I've tried on the lunch and dinner menus did not disappoint.I should also mention the atmosphere is cosy and it's also easy to engage in conversation without having to shout-another "plus". Jack may Love Red but I love Jack's as well.

Wow, the seafood crepe was AMAZING! It had more scallops in it than anything I have ordered in Tassie... including when I have just ordered scallops. Definitely will visit again. Recently ditched the booze but love it when a restaurant offered a selection of mocktails. I wish they had at least one or two to choose from but had to go with old Lemon, lime and bitters. Outside of that the food, service and view were all fantastic!

Limited menu definitely pizza based, will try pizza next time. Flake was pretty standard nothing special, nothing wrong with it either no strong smell or taste.

One of the best Pizza with so much toppings! It truly was very refreshing and tasty pizzas in town. There's quite diverse range in menu with wide choices in vegetarian options. Seatings are also very cozy with lovely views of blackmans bay

Have loved this place since my first visit. Today was breakfast and again, I was not disappointed. My Eggs Benedict were some of the best I've had in Hobart. Bacon cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce was sublime. I thoroughly recommend Jack Loves Red for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner (and any time in between)

Went there on a Sunday for breakfast place was busy and had to wait over 45 minutes to be served. Once the food came it was cooked well and the portions generous. However the amount of flies in the place made me feel I'll. Tip 1 if you have a busy day have more than 1 chef on duty. Tip 2 invest in a bug zapper.

Ordered takeaway at 630 as we have for past 2 years, no show at 740 rang and was told chef left early, ok so were is our meal. Told we will redo it know and get it there asap. Well if we didn't chase it up at 740 we would still be waiting. Sorry guys not good enough in this day and age. Disappointed.

The staff were amazing. 'Can you make something vegan? Surprise me?!' was met with the best pizza I have EVER eaten. The waitress bought out paper for my little on to draw on after seeing her using napkins and we couldn't have had a nicer, tastier more enjoyable experience all round.

A great local pizza place is something we've always been on the look out for, and I'm very happy to say that after recently moving to Blackmans Bay that we've found Jack Loves Red. Simply great pizzas (and other foods which we have yet to try because the pizzas are so good).

Good food and good service. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I had the Eggs Benedict - very tasty, I can also highly recommend the "avocado sunrise" with corn & zucchini fritters, relish, poached eggs. They allow split bills which is a bonus with a larger group too.

Ordered over the phone. Turned up and paid at the time they said. Just a few minutes I was told. Sat there for 20 minutes. went to the counter no order for my name. Eventually they found the pizza. 2 minute drive home and pizza cold and had to put in the oven. Not impressed

We had pizza delivered tonight and it was fantastic. Food arrived when they said it would. Pizzas have generous flavoursome toppings and the base is perfect, just the right amount of crunch vs chewyness. We've just moved into the area so will definitely be back again soon!

Best pizzas and pasta. While you're there, try the chorizo pasta, the marinated chicken breast burger and their famous chips. You won't be disappointed! It can get busy on Fridays and weekends, but takeaways should only take around 15 minutes. Food is good value, too.

Ordered pizza to be delivered. They hung up on us twice, were very rude, and took over two hours to deliver. There is no quality of pizza that would mitigate that sort of service. Won’t be ordering from them again.

My friend Jack said that he prefers the colour blue, instead of red. However, the food is great, and great service, if it was called "Jack loves Blue" instead of "Jack loves Red" I would give 5 stars.

We enjoyed breakfast with our friends here this morning. It was cosy with great service. The food was excellent and the coffee perfect. We would recommend this place to anyone visiting Blackmans Bay.

I only bought a drink as I was just meeting up with a friend but for only $5 it tasted delicious. When I received it it was perfectly hot too.

Great food with nice staff and a warm comfortable setting. The tall tables have very uncomfortable chairs but other than that it was great.
