I dropped in at 4 pm on Sunday to pick up a HDMI adaptor. I had checked on line the day earlier to make sure the adaptors were available and Jaycar would be open. I walked in and was ignored by staff behind the counter. I checked for the adaptor and couldn't find it so went back to the counter where a rude Sales men after trying to ignore me again, begrudgingly asked if I wanted anything? I told him what I was after and was told they didn't sell them. I informed him I had checked on line and they were listed. He rudely said, "well do you have an item number". I said I didn't and he vaguely waved at a corner of the shop where he said some adaptors were. I checked the area only to find it was the wrong part of the shop and still couldn't find the adaptor. I left and went to Springvale Jaycar and was greeted with a smile as I walked in, I told them what I was after and was cheerfully directed to exactly where the adaptors were located. I told the helpful staff member of my experience at the Cheltenham store and he apologised on their behalf and agreed that it was hard when Sales staff were not invested in what they were doing. The sales staff at Cheltenham made no attempt to look up the item I was after or make any effort to serve me at all. FYI the product number of the Digitech Audio Visual HDMI socket to HDMI Socket adaptor is PA-3640 and Jaycar defiantly do sell them, it is just a shame I had to go to 2 Jaycar shops to get some one to actually serve me and sell me one.

Drove in today simply to buy a specialised small battery and saw they had a one-day sale on. My wife and I were interested in a portable generator on sale, 50% off, down to $150. There were three there - 2 boxed and 1 not. One guy bought the two boxed ones whilst we were there. When my wife queried why the remaining one was not in a box and did it come with a warranty card, etc, the young sales guy simply said, 'It comes as is.' He later approached us and said we could have it for $100. I went inside to buy the battery and whilst there we asked the Assistant Manager, why the unboxed portable generator outside in the sale did not have a warranty card etc. He came back to inform us that that particular one was water damaged. We informed him that at no time did his sales guy tell us that. We were more than peeved, but thanked him for HIS honesty. That sales guy needs re-training, or firing.

I don’t know the first wink about electronics. Walked into Jaycar Cheltenham looking for some components to fix an FX unit of mine. The handsome, eloquent and vivacious staff member Gabriel not only solved my problem through asking many important and to- the- point questions, but also suggested some modifications with step- by- step instructions on how to carry them out. Product questionable, service outstanding. Will be coming back to see Gabriel for sure!

Store manager is clueless and gives off an unwelcoming vibe. I work in sales myself and I am appreciative for when a customer is polite and friendly so I act the same for when I’m shopping for myself. This bloke didn’t seem like he gave a rats a** and kind of just pointed in the direction for what I was looking for and then awkwardly stood behind me while I was searching to find my item.

I came into the store on Saturday at 11 and was helped by the most lovely sales assistant named Kate. She was so personable and helpful giving me the right advice. I could not be happier with my purchase and the experience I had a jaycar with Kate. Would recommend going and asking for her as her knowledge and manner is just outstanding. Thank you Kate!

Thank you for the fantastic customer service I received at Jaycar Electronics Cheltenham this afternoon. Only went there to purchase a small bulb but Steve went out of his way to get my seventies viewer to operate. I got the impression I wasn't going to leave the store until he got it working! Edit: dude i posted this like a year and a half ago. Thanks for the response anyway I suppose? If only there was an alternative. Manager a grump, staff never around and unwilling to help. The range is average and the quality of products - especially jaycar brand powertech stuff is terrible. I'll avoid it when I can.

Technology these days is usually a cause of great anxiety for me. However, a delightful young man by the name of Gabriel put all that stress to bed with his excellent service and cunning wit. Went to by micro SD card to SD adapter and SD to USB adapter. Although when I got home, nothing worked. Max provided exemplary customer service when I returned, helping to quickly troubleshoot and solve the issue. I left happy and ready to tackle my project. I can't commend Steve and Max highly enough!

Really petty customer service. Tried buying an audio cable for $4.95 and they wouldn't take my payment because their Eftpos minimum was $5. I offered to pay the Eftpos service change but they weren't interested. Won't be shopping there again.

I love this place. I come here for all my diy needs and any electronic parts and tools. Huge variety. Plenty of parking. Helpful staff. Prices are reasonable. You can probably find cheaper online, but you can't get such good help online.

Manager is rude , Prices are high only buy here when desperate. You can buy a 12v plug on Ebay for 20 for $20 . so $1 each . they charge $8.95 for one pce
