Third visit to Jaycar. Went the first time and my partner was told by the salesperson the connection on his laptop was usb-c and sold connections. It did not work. I went back with a picture of the mini display port and usb-a hole, and the items previously sold for a refund. Timothy served me and I said I wanted a refund but he insisted on helping so I showed him the photo. He assured me he was a tech guy and the usb-a port was a display port. I stated I would he really unhappy if I needed to come back a 3rd time. Today I went back a 3rd time. Timothy does not listen to the customer and his service did not allow me to confidently say this was the usb-a. Today we returned all items and had the pleasure of being served by James. True professional, that does know his tech. Very polite, young man that respects customers and went above and beyond to check the specs for us to ensure what we purchase next is sufficient. Unfortunately we won't be back based on our first 2 experiences with Jaycar and will be shopping elsewhere.

I have shopped here numerous times due to proximity only. On most occasions staff don't even bother offering assistance, even when there are no other customers in the store. They clearly prefer to talk amongst themselves. This has occurred nearly every time I've been in this store. I avoid it unless I really need something and prefer to wait to shop at the Frankston store, which I've found to provide consistently much better service. Also, every time I've shopped at the Hallam store I've found the service to be absolutely fantastic. Update: I have been to the Mornington store several times in the last few months. I have noticed what appears to be a dramatic change in the attitudes and professionalism of staff. On these occasions the staff have been very attentive and provided the type of customer service you would normally expect. Credit where credit is due. I am satisfied that they now deserve my business and i will continue to shop at this store.

Twice now, I have been to the Mornington store to buy a 9V battery snapon connector. This product is just a few cents. And twice, I have been helped out without judgement for my small purchase! Then today I did a click and collect order and the team was polite, helpful and just downright nice!! Ready with just a few minutes. Such a good bunch of people who should be so proud of running such a helpful store. Thank you. I would recommend this store over any other electronics store. 10/10.

Hubby & kids love it. If I need to get them out of the house for an hour or so, so that I can tidy up, I just suggest they go there, and the kids do the rest of the work for me on the man of the house, dragging him by the lower hems of his shorts. A sneaky strategy but it always works. They usually come home with a gadget or two which keeps the kids occupied for more time, and if the haul includes an expensive man-cave-type gadget, that takes care of hubby too. Thanks Jaycar.

They are probably OK if you know what you are doing. But if you need some expertise, try somewhere else. I described what I needed to achieve, and that I wasn't sure how to best go about it, to the "assistant" and received the following helpful guidance: "No." That was it. No attempt at all to give me any ideas on other options, adn when I asked a few more questions, the answers were equally unhelpful. Totally disinterested, won't be back.

The 3 times I went there the customer service wasn’t great and the workers weren’t overly kind they didn’t have the common decency to call and tell me that my order which was already paid for wasn’t coming at all. Extremely disappointing as I had to pay almost double what I wanted to pay as I was given no other option considering it was a present for a birthday in 2 days, definitely didn’t deserve my $550 and will not be returning

Checked the public holiday times and it said open today (Easter Monday) at 10.00am Got to the store and waited until 10.40am outside as no one was there to open up the store. Other people waited and left also. They even had a printed Easter holiday hour sheet taped to the front door. I ended up driving 20 minutes the opposite direction to Frankston Jaycar to get what I needed. Thanks for wasting my time

Service was abysmal, 4 guys at the counter, very ho hum, I was looking for magnets for my car phone mount, asked one man if he could just check my phone mount, to see if he could recommend an alternative‍♀️ Not allowed to step outside the door, in case he gets hit by a car. What!!!! Well they have lost a customer, I will never buy from jcar, went to another establishment, and bingo, they won.

Went in to buy some duel layer dvds with a printable face that I desperately needed, and was helped by a young bloke with long hair who assured me multiple times that the ones he grabbed me had a printable face. They did not. Went back the next day for a refund and the bloke who served me could not have cared less. Not even an apology. Terrible customer service all round, I will not be going back.

Just went to mornington jaycar whilst serving me staff member wandered off and started serving another customer and just left me I needed replacement 12v bulb waiting for him to come back he didn't I had to get another staff member to get bad bulb from him so he could look for new one. Absolutely piss poor service how rude can you get.no wonder bad reviews..

Would never ever go back. Had a receipt for two batteries that I was basically forced to buy and the rude guy there said he couldn't give me my money back when I tried to return them as I had to do it within 7 days, after explaining that I couldn't do it in that time frame, he basically said too bad. What a waste of $25.00. You have lost me forever.

Poor service. Clearly the young man that works here has no investment in provide good polite service. We ordered and paid for the part online and were told to come back tommoro as he couldn't find the order? Hmm..not that impressed after driving 20mins to get there and standing at the door in the rain for over 10mins. S

Handy hours not just open Sunday but open till 5! Service can be slow like any jaycar store but only because they make time to deal with tricky customers. Shame there is no store further down the peninsula.
