I mostly went to Fontana for the dog park, which turned out to be almost unshaded and with a sharp sand and dirt surface. Also, smack in the middle of the dog park was one of those big steel antennas that carry lines across the state, so there was a constant low level buzzing the whole time you were there. However, they did have fresh water available, as well as chairs and benches, and there was a little bit of shade. The rest of the park looks rather nice, actually - the path winds around, and there are several trees shading many portions of it. There were quite a few acorn woodpeckers there, with their distinctive cries and their striking plumage - very pretty! There's a children's park, but during this pandemic time it's all closed and covered over with webbing so nobody uses it. There were quite a few people walking their dogs or jogging, and most of them had masks on. I was a little disturbed by the large group of what looked like mothers and their infant children, only about half of whom were wearing masks - my dog and I avoided them. Aside from that, it's a nice, average park in a pleasant neighborhood. I would go back, I just am not excited about it, you know?

This place has everything. Especially attached right to Guadeloupe oaks park. There are usually fewer people there than most places due to it being tucked away. Good pick
Playground
Looks like mostly younger kid style playground
Dog-friendliness
Two large off leash areas that are fenced. One for small dogs, one for large. Definitely long enough to throw a ball as far as you can!
Picnic area
Picnic tables spread around

I love this park. It has a nice dog park in it. The park is narrow but it stretches a long way and I have yet to explore all of it. But what I also love is that it butts up to another park that is filled with acres of beautiful mature Oak trees of different varieties. These trees host a bunch of squirrels and woodpeckers to observe.

Love this park, love to take a long walk. Especially this place has beautiful kids play area; whenever my nephew comes home he likes to go there and play .. nice dog walk area also there.. overall it's lovely and lovely park.. there is a lot of scope to improve the greenery in this park for sure.

Small play area not far from the dog park. What turned me off was some dog owners let their dogs on the the kids play area and let their dogs using the slides, put their dogs in baby swings. I recommend parents to wipe the toddler swing's seat prior putting your kids in it.

Nice compact park that takes you out of the city instantly. Plenty of trees for shade, winding little grassy trails with nice benches to take in the hilly views. Decent dog park with sturdy fencing. See local wildlife every time we come here...

Such a cute park. I took my pup and sis here after a hike at Almaden quicksilver. We had a picnic. My pup played in the dog area, her first time at a dog park. There were no dogs in the gated area, but she had fun roaming free. People also

The park is big by area. But there is no much green surface. It is mostly open soil without any grass. It has two playgrounds one for small and another for big kids. But both are on the smaller side and look a little old.

  • Laura Hulberg

Nice neighborhood park. We like to visit the dog park there from time to time. Nice and attentive dogs and owners. The dog park itself is huge but is all dirt, so be prepared to brush your pup off afterward!

There is a small enclosed park area for dogs to run around and a little playground for kids. The overall terrain of the park is very rough, full of holes and bumps, so it is very easy to lose your footing.

Nice little neighborhood park with a dog area and children playground. The park is named after a young San Jose police officer who was killed on duty in 2001. There is a statue of him in the park.

First time here. Nice ambience. We ate outside. Food was very good. I plan to go again. I plan to try their menudo. I want to compare it to Trini's which makes menudo as good as homemade.

Lovely urban park to take kids and dogs. Trails to hilltop for elevated views of San Jose area. Dry in the summer-fall. Get a good dose of nature to renew and destress your body and mind.

  • Kai Manske

It's a good sized park but I don't think they have restrooms and the flies and biting bugs were very annoying. There is a dog park there to which is completely dirt, kinda sad.

  • Stacy Rapoport

We frequent this dog park all the time. I like it but there isn't much shade on sunny days. There's a really cute playground for the kids and a nice walking trail.

  • David Colman

It's a good place to go for a peaceful walk, there are two small hills you can go up to get a little more exercise. There is also a small fenced dog park nearby.

  • Kyle Lowman

Pretty cool park, great for a nice walk, not any tables really besides the dog park, so not very good for any events or things of that sort

  • Jonathan Correll

Great place to walk your dog. The park itself extends about 5 blocks total, takes about an hour to walk one end to the other and back.

Great dog park but be careful of the foxtails. Our puppy needed the vet to remove one from his paw.

Nice dog park (unfortunately it is compressed granite so it makes a mess) and great walking trails
