If you care for your loved one medical needs, please DO NOT send them to Kentfield Hospital-SF. My brother who’s a quadriplegic has recently had a trach inserted in his throat to assist him with his breathing, and the staff at this facility has been neglecting to properly care for him since his admission 3 weeks ago. We were initially told that Kentfield hospital staff will be able offer my brother the around the clock care he needs and they will help wing him off the trach so he can come home. Just over the past few weeks, my brother has chocked on his own saliva due to his call light going unanswered for up to 20 minutes. This has been an ongoing occurrence. My brother has facetimed me all hours of the day and night requesting I call the hospital to tell the medical staff he needs to be suctioned. I’ve placed over 10 calls to the hospital main line just to have staff answer my brother call light after he’s been ignored for over 20 minutes. My family has complained to the hospital staff numerous times. Management suggested we move him to a room directly in front of the nurses station to assure his call light doesn’t go unanswered. Even with the move the nurses and CNA staff still ignore his call light for assistance. Even worse the staff are starting to now retaliate and blatantly not clean him, leave him in feces for hours, not properly bathe him, refuse to reposition him, and ignore his needs since we have complained to management. The nurses and CNA’s are going as far as hiding their badges with their names when they walk in his room. So if they don’t do their jobs he won’t know who to report. Our family has communicated that we are scared for our loved one’s life and still NO change. At this facility There’s no compassion, there’s no one being held responsible for the lack of basic care. We’re currently being ignored by management. To make matters worse my brother went code blue here because the staff didn’t respond to his call light to suction his lungs and they had to resuscitate him, and place him on a ventilator due to their negligence. Beware this facility is dangerous.

I’m a patient here and the hospital is completely under staffed, and they don’t answer the call lights here. Some nurses are new here, and they don’t have a clue on how to do the simplest thing. I have never been anywhere where the staff walks by your room with the call light clearly blinking and they don’t even stop to ask if you are okay; or if you need help. This first post was a week ago. This is from September 6th. The staff here are barely trained, and the staff that are training the new hires are doing a poor job. The staff will ignore your light, and please’s for help. Almost everyday there’s a problem with my care. They don’t take the time to clean you properly, nor reposition you if it’s needed. I wish I could give them a 0! UPDATE 10/5/22 The QUALITY OF CARE here at Kentfeild Hospital has really declined in a alarming rate. They are constantly short of staff, and us patients have to sit in our own bodily fluids. The nurses REFUSE to clean us; relying solely on the CNA’s to do the job… The problem is that they don’t have that many CNA’s anymore. Majority of which have moved on to better and more lucrative jobs. Management hasn’t taken any initiative to properly staff the hospital floor, nor has their been any substitute for the staffing issues. That leaves us all here in a DANGEROUS predicament because we can develop bed sores from not being repositioned. We are not being cleaned properly which can cause numerous health problems, due to the fact that they are making the CNA’s on duty care for too many patients. A CNA has 10 patients they have to care for by law, and yet Kentfeild nurses are making them care for more. If not, then the patient suffers. DO NOT SEND YOUR FRIEND OR FAMILY!!!

My grandmother was admitted to this hospital for rehabilitation earlier this year right before her death. I can't speak for the care that she received while in the hospital as they were very restrictive with visitors because of the pandemic(so we weren't able to stay with her for extended periods of time), but the way the hospital handled the situation around the time of her death was downright appalling. The day before her death, her children wanted to visit her at the hospital but were denied despite being healthy and fully vaccinated, essentially denying them the chance to see their mother alive for the last time. On the day of her death, her condition worsened suddenly and the hospital did not inform her family of this and kept the details of her health a secret. And the day after her passing, we were unable to start her funeral because the hospital could not decide on which department was responsible for her at the time of her death and therefore would not issue a death certificate for her, leaving us in limbo for the entire day.

My experience with Kentfield Hospital San Francisco started in April 2019. My brother had been in a severe car accident and left a quadriplegic. This was also my first experience with any hospital so I did not know what to expect. I spent two and a half months living at Kentfield (home for me is New York). Kentfield became my home. The staff, led by the Medical Director, Dr. John Cranshaw, was exceptional. From RN Hayden, CNA Josh, receptionist Robin, the cleaning staff and just too many others, my brother and I were in caring, loving hands. One memory that stands out the most was when my brother was having a serious medical issue right at shift change and Nurse Hayden stayed nearly three hours over to make sure both of us were OK. Kentfield might not be perfect but no place is. Kentfield employees give their best and do really care.

My doctor, nurses, CNAs, PTs, OTs, RTs, ST, and wound care were all top notch. When I arrived from 23 days in ICU in another county after a major heart attack, I was still under the influence of very strong drugs and suffering from delirium. The staff here took me from an anxious, angry man who was unable to even stand up to a clear-headed, determined patient who was able to walk the length of a football field (with a walker). My PT recognized that I was progressing quickly and recommended me for transfer to acute rehab. I was on my way to acute rehab after 20 days in Kentfield San Francisco. My wife and I were very emotional when we left because many staff members had become friends during our stay. We recently stopped by with doughnuts to thank them in person for their wonderful care. They will have a place in our hearts forever!

The worst hospital ever. I had read reviews, but after having my grandmother I regret her stay there. They did nothing but keep her in bed nothing to push her foward. I always had to alligate to get a doctor to call me. The case managers, directors and CEO would never take me serious. I couldn't even get help to transfer somewhere else. Finally the day came were she was transferred to a different nursing home. And let me tell you in 2 wk she did so much better and was given the attention that was needed. My recommendations don't always go by the reviews but it is my only honest opinion.

This place is renting space at St Mary’s Hospital. The Mgt is disorganize & cant keep a date down re: Start date, giving excuses that JCAHO was there; computer is frozen w/c both was a lie coz JCAHO was there , APRIL not Sept . The meds for Day Shift , they ALL transfered to Night Shift. So Nights , you have 11 meds to pass at 10:00 pm & both 6:00 am. They only have ONE omnicell where U get the meds & there is a waiting line. You have this number of meds for each of the 5 pts they give you ; so at 7:00 am , your still passing meds . ??

My dad who is deaf was receiving treatment at Kentfield SF for recovery. Kentfield staffs had provided an extraordinary care for my father. I don’t know what else to say but thank you to all of the doctors, nurse, physical therapist, OT, case manager and Michael the site manager. The had made sure we know every step of the care my dad was receiving. Their team was able to get my dad back in his feet. I don’t what else I can do but to say thank you and to make sure I can post this for them. Thank you Kentfield SF.

My brother was lucky enough to come to the Kentfield hospital SF to be treated with exceptional care after a major cardiac surgery involving arotic dissection which caused strokes and spinal cord injury. The doctors, nurses, therapists (respiratory, physical, occupational, and speech) were all involved to provide exceptional tailoring care that met his needs. They really helped him getting back to better!!! We are so amazed at the successful treatment and we feel very grateful. Thank you, Kentfield Hospital SF!!!

I dont like this place, you see things on the social media about nurses or cnas being mean, my poor mom complain about how when we would leave they would not treat her well it disgust me to know that people can be so unhuman to others and trying to get her released was bad i felt like they kept trying to keep her here it was excuses after excuses scary to know she just an insurance job. I never thought a hospital would be like this. I would never recommend this hospital at all...

I called the hospital to ask about a patient and was told to call back in 15 minutes since the person responsible for patient information was out. I called back and was transferred again and again there was no answer. I called reception once more and to my surprise the receptionist sent me to voicemail. I called several more times and was sent to voicemail each time. Their customer service and staff are horrible and incompetent.

Terry Robert Jan,Jennifer, ray teambe , Nichole flower, and Eric all amazing nurses my favorite is robert and eric .Tina. Athena, sokha ,Tomas (cna) Rochelle (cna) tim, cna. I have only had two unpleasant moments in my month and half so far stay here. Other than that the staff have been amazing, caring and understanding, and they advocate for the patient.

  • Tony Rodriguez

Older place but nice and clean. Most of the staff is nice and friendly. My mom stayed there for a month and a made a few friends with some of the staff. At times the staff may be a little stretch but they do their best to accommodate thier patients. The respiratory therapist team did an amazing job. The PT team did a pretty good job.

Thank you to Gina for providing such thoughtful and tailored care for my father at Kentfield. Your hard work and dedication is appreciated. In fact, everyone at Kentfield is warm and friendly, and the facility itself is clean and well organized.

Was wonderful until you dealt with the caseworkers. And the nurses and the specially workers it was a day by day basis. Great day awful day You always need somebody there to watch out. Therapy awful

  • Chloe Finley

awful. case workers literally won't answer your calls, and ignore the patient/family. They missed my dads meals 3 times in 2 days. If you advocate for the patient, they will hate you.

  • Kemonti Sampson

If zero was possible that is what I would give them. Please don't trust you love ones in there hands. I will post a full story once I'm done getting my mom out of this Hell Hole!
