'At the end of the day people won't remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel.' - Maya Angelou Traditionally, I have absolutely HATED going to the doctor, but its a necessary evil, right? Dr. Pierce is thoughtful and thorough. In my experience, most Docs have just come in - occasionally verified I did in fact have a pulse, asked a few questions and then walked out the door while I was still answering. However, Dr. Pierce took the time to get to know me a little and made it seem like she was more interested in figuring out my issue than getting my co-pay. Again, may just be my experience, but that is a rare thing. The staff is friendly and kind as well. They are definitely busy, but they have the time for me (and my stupid jokes). Of particular note is Chassidy (I guess she's a nurse, but since everyone in the medical field wears scrubs, she could totally be a janitor...never can tell.) Anyway, as it turns out, I'm what your average blood-puller calls "a hard stick" due to my deep and apparently elusive veins. (I think that just a nice way to say I have a fat arm, but whatever.) Anyway, whether nurse or janitor, she owned the "find the vein" challenge like she was an actual vampire. It takes mere mortals about 5 attempts before they give up and call someone else to try. Also, she takes my non-sense and sarcasm like a champ and returned the favor with a few well times comments. I've never laughed at a the docs office other than when looking at a bill. What a change of pace! Like I said, I hated going to the doctor, but this place and these people make what I have to do something I no longer hate to do.

I have been a patient with this practice for over 8 years and within the years, I have seen staff come and go along with the professionalism that it once had. I am beginning to think that its all about a co-pay with this practice and not about the overall well-being of the patient. I recently had my well-woman exam with a new practioner named Dr Jimenez. She did a good job with the exam itself, but she knew nothing about my personal history despite having the records right in front her. Her nurse was not as experienced as the nurses I've had in the past. She had a very difficult time collecting my blood but she eventually did at my arm's expense as it was severely bruised. After the exam was over, I asked if my maintenance prescription would be refilled, the nurse told me that they would send it electronically to my pharmacy. I waited two days and my prescriptions were still not at the pharmacy so I decided to call the office to inquire. Dr Jiminez's nurse called me back a day later and told me she was unaware I needed any prescriptions which was totally unbelievable to me because I told her the only 2 medication I was on and gave her my pharmacy number. After all of the confusion, she did eventually send one of my medication and the other she told me I had to make a sick visit appointment. Really on maintenance meds that I get every year, makes no sense to me but at any rate, I have decided to take my business elsewhere. I am hoping to find a practice where I am a priority and not just another co-pay.

This place did nothing to help my husband. We moved from out of state and he needed a prescription refill (for a mental illness he was diagnosed with years ago), and i have never seen anyone been given the runaround like he was. They made him schedule multiple visits and pay multiple copays for something they never even ended up doing. We had to pay $100 to get an “official diagnosis” from a counselor just to have a staff member tell us after the fact that that wouldn’t cut it and we needed to see a psychiatrist. Even though psychiatrists can prescribe the medication themselves. When we asked about it, the NP explained she could prescribe two weeks of the medication and would have it into the pharmacy by the end of the day. It never arrived at the pharmacy, and when we tried to call to clarify we could never get in touch with her and she never called us back. So after 3 visits in one month with extremely grumpy and undereducated staff, we left and will never ever return. Aside from our specific experience, everyone we talked to from office staff to the NPs were rude and acted like we were wasting their time discussing the matters of my husband’s mental illness coupled with depression. No physician should ever turn their nose up at a patient asking for help and saying they know they’re not okay, but this place did. I’m so disappointed in the care we received here. Do yourself a favor and stay far away.

I love Dr. weaver but today is Friday 8/18/17 and who ever was the on call doctor today, she was completely rude and discourteous. Like I had the nerve to bother her. Not to mention I just saw Shawn Weaver this morning and for a second time in a row they had not sent in or called in my prescriptions again. All the Doctors work is worthless if the staff and other Doctors cant back him up. I had reservations about going back because last time they never even called me about my blood work. And when I have a awesome consultation with Dr. Weaver and made me feel like I had finally found my doctor since I moved here last year, his staff still can't do the one thing I needed them to do which is just send a script. So disappointing I can't see a doctor I want to because you can't trust the other Doctors and nurses. This man in my opinion saved my life by urging me to see a ENT last year for what was thought to be a tumor, but I can't trust his practice so I'm back to square one at finding a new doctor. Simple just call in the script I went in for and if a mistake happens then the on call Doctors can just have a little empathy and understand some prescriptions are dependent on. I strongly recommend Dr. Weaver as a Doctor but I hope you never depend on hearing news that's life or death you may never get that call.

Was just looking up their phone number and noticed the negative reviews... seems like people only take time to review things if it's a bad experience - so I wanted to share my experience with KFP. I was a new patient and have only been here twice now, but each time I was met with multiple smiles and a very friendly staff. I signed in with the lady at the front who was very personable and acted like I had known her forever, and had a couple of questions (that were directed to and answered by another lady) about my insurance. The nurse called me back and took all my vitals, etc. and I waited to see Dr. Weaver - who was amazing. He took the time to not only review my MRI, but actually pull it up on the computer and explain to me what it all meant. I would HIGHLY recommend this practice for anyone in Kingwood. And to the lady below - I can honestly say I understand having to deal with doctor's offices (in Humble) because of a parent having an immediate need (my mom had a stroke over a year ago and I have been handling her stuff since). Unfortunately - your experience wasn't because of any staff being non empathetic or rude - it's the stupid insurance companies making EVERYONE jump through extra hoops. Hope this helps someone.

Do yourself a favor do not come to this office unless you see the Dr. This office is full of Nurse practioners and Nurse practitioner assistants. I never saw a Dr when I had complications from an Antibiotic the Nurse prescribed for a mild outer ear infection which has destroyed my digestive system for 31 days and counting. Even after 2 ER visits and 2 follow up visits with the same Nurse they were baffled that I lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks they couldn't set me up with The real Dr because the Dr was on vacation for a month. They didn't offer a blood test, stool or breath test for possible digestive infection because they are extremely incompetent to do so. So, if you want an annual wellness test, the flue, strep or ear infection or any simple diagnoses from a nurse then you found the right place. My prescribed Antibiotic by the Nurse was an overkill for the mild infection as one of their own nurses specified to me. I was never warned of the serious side effects that would occur even with my history of medications I'm allergic to on their files. My life isn't the same anymore.

Let me start by saying that I love love love Dr. Pierce and Dr. Weaver, but some of the office staff are horrible and will ruin a business. Especially the young girl at the front office window "Jaquelin". I was having a family emergency and needed to get a referral for my dad from Dr. Weaver and Ms. Jaquelin pulled some business cards off the back wall in the front office and pretty much threw them at me. I looked at her and said, "are you kidding me". Jaquelin said, "there is a process and it's takes 3 days"!!!!! I told her I don't have 3 days my dad is in ICU. Jaqueline also scolded me saying to watch my attitude. I told her you would have an attitude too if your dad was dying. She said do you want to see the office manager and I said "yes". I spoke with Jennifer who is the office manager and she said she would help me expedite the referral and give me her number. My dad was transported in ambulance downtown due to being critical and we did not need the referral. I told my mother and she is changing PCP.

I called this office because my son had been sick for a few days. At the time of making the appointment I told them that we would need a swab or blood test as he had already been to a walk in clinic to rule out some common ailments. They still gave me a Teladoc appointment. Told me to take the appointment from the parking lot and they would come out to do the swab or test that was necessary. When I arrived, after half an hour past my appointment I went into the clinic and asked what the holdup was and then they told me to go to urgent care. We ended up at the ER that day and I called and left a message on Dr. Roman’s nurse’s voicemail asking for them to request results from the emergency room and here we are days later with no call back from this clinic and still no test results. If he has something that could land him back in the emergency room, I would never know. Thank God he’s been fever free of over 24 hours since this whole ordeal.

Me and my family have been established patients here for 18 years. I love Dr. Gross, but I hardly ever see her. I miss Gayla she was great! Idk what has happened to this practice, but it has really gone downhill. The last few visits have been horrible. Doctors and nurses have been very rude. My most recent visit was for an upper respiratory infection and I needed to be on antibiotics. The nurse tested me for the flu, which I felt like she perforated my sinus on both sides. It was very painful and brought tears to my eyes, and the nurse just laughed. After testing negative for the flu the doctor still could not diagnose me. I was prescribed antibiotics, but I went to another facility to be treated. I feel that me and my entire family will be looking for another doctor. I’m very sad to have to leave, I would love to stay if things change and Dr. Gross can get a better staff.

  • Terry Pash

I have had the same experience as the other posters with this so called “medical practice”. This is the WORST and most UNPROFESSIONAL medical office I have ever been to in my 60+ years. The office staff, from front desk reception all the way to back office are the most incompetent group of losers. I guess Dr Pierce takes absolutely no pride in her practice as these negative posts have been going on for years and she has done nothing to improve the internal operations in her practice. No one at this practice wants to do their job or take any responsibility for anything. Avoid this office at all costs. There are so many others in the immediate area that will handle their business professionally.

  • Baking and Cooking with Vickie

This is the worst doctor's office I have ever been to in my entire life. They left a message that I should call them back. Whenever I call back no one answers and they do not return my call. The receptionist hang up on me, that was very rude, I guess that is why I pay them so much money. Whenever they put me on hold ,I always get disconnected. We did not even see the doctor it was her nurse. She was done in 3 mins. and was very unfriendly. The receptionist was also very unfriendly and demanded a co-pay from my ins. I do not have a co-pay with my ins. Run from this place. Unfriendly and rude. No manners, no respect.

I was going overseas on a trip and knew I was going to be doing a lot of walking. The problem is I have a very bad knee and have difficulty walking. I really needed to get a series of shots to help my knee before I left on my trip. I have to say that Dr. Weaver and his nurse Kerry were exceptional in getting the approval from my insurance company and getting the shots for me in a timely manner. I really like Dr. Weaver, he spends the time with you and addresses all of your needs. And his nurse Kerry is great too! Dr. Weaver is an excellent addition to Kingwood Family Practice.

  • Jodi Alvarado

I have been going to Kingwood family practice for 16 years. I love Dr. Pierce and her staff! I am very surprised by some of these reviews. I have always been treated with kindness by everyone that works there. The nurses have always been helpful with any questions I have had about my prescriptions. The front desk usually always answers when I call. If for some reason they were busy and couldn't answer. I have always received a call back before the end of the day. I highly recommend Kingwood family practice! You will be well taken care of by anyone you see!!

  • Deborah Miller

Don’t waste your time….Call to tell you to return for lab test, they don’t answer their phone and never call you back. Never answer phone calls anytime, always leave a message with no return phone calls. Can’t get refills until you set a new appointment which is always 2 months out and they give you 30 day refill. Make you come in every 6 months just to get refills. Never had a Dr office require every 6 month visits. Looking for new place, tired of their ways. We are only in the country about 2 months a year and this doesn’t work for me.

  • Kirsten Willyerd

I have never been to a practice where the provider's have cared so much about their patients. Great experiences everytime. From the front office staff trying so hard to get me and my children in as soon as possible, the nurses who know you by name, to the providers who you can tell genuinely care for your well being. When my insurance didn't cover a specific medicine they have given me coupons, advice, and even called in a different form of the same prescription. Definitely patients for life, highly recommend this practice to everyone!

  • Cameron Knox

Very rude staff. Not willing to hear you out with simple inquiries. On top of that, they do not inform you that they are sending your lab work to a facility that charges twice as much as the norm! THEN the lab billed ME directly! Who does that?! VERY unprofessional. I would NOT recommend if you just want a simple check up. AND they do not listen to you when you are trying to inform them where to send your information/results. Mine were sent to the wrong place EVEN THOUGH I told them IN PERSON where to send everything. Just terrible.

  • Alexis Cook

HORRIBLE customer service here. We've been a patient and called for an appointment. Once Rebecca answered, and I requested an appointment, she put me on hold for ten minutes. She came back, and I explained what was going on again. She notified me of two available times, an hour apart. I said either one will work. She proceeds to tell me, "Hey, Lady, I can't make decisions for you!" while speaking with a major attitude. Don't be in a position to work with the public if you can't speak respectfully to people. We won't come back here.

  • carol kuykendall

In December I called to ask for a new blood test, the knee doctor's office thought that my test was wrong, all day I called them to only get answering machine. I have never had such bad service from a doctor's office. Ended up going to the hospital, because they never bothered to answer me. Later I took hospital work to them, and a PA lied and said she did not have it and it was terrible, I do not plan on ever using them again. Plus, I was told the doctor would call me back and she never did. RUN FROM THEM

  • Chained yet adrift

Incompetent. There's a reason they have low ratings. I lost my job of 5 years because their staff could not get my required paperwork filled out in a timely manner in order for my leave to be approved while I dealing with an illness. Numerous calls, no one bothered. I come to the office and no one has a clue. A month after I lost my job, they called me to tell me my paperwork had been filled out. I was like too little too damn late!! "I lost my job cuz of you people and your ineptitude." Don't come here.

  • laurie gage

Dont waste your time here. I saw nurse practitioner Lorena Jiminez. If you have anything wrong other than a cough or cold, they dont have time for you. I was literaly told that i had too many issues for them to treat there and that if i had more than 3 that i would have to schedule another appt and come back for those because she had already spent 10 minutes referring me to other drs. I went in for nausea, vomiting and anxiety. Staff was very rude. I Should have read the reviews first.

  • Harold Field

If you want thse folks to do any medical intervention, forget it. They are skilled at referring you to a specialist. They do NOTHING! Just referr you to a specialist. Don't waste your time with them. Just go to a specialist. They make their money by having you show up. They bill your insurance company and then refer you to a specialist. I don't know, but you have to think that they're getting kick back from the specialsts that they are refering you to. My advice, go elsewhere.

  • soren skov-nissen

I was a client at the clinic for 14 years - however the last 4 years I am happy to say I did not require their services. No I return for a needed appointment and in the meantime I have become a Medicare eligible patient. Now they do no longer want me when they cannot bill as they want. Medicate pay less than private insurance companies so money grabbing doctor do not want to deal with the second class citizens we have become. They should be ashamed of such behavior

  • Dora Edwards

This place won’t see sick patients. So I make a virtual visit. We guessed flu. Got prescribed for that after three days I only got worse. Called but could not get through. Left a message and never got a call back. I went to the ER. Turn out it was strep and pneumonia. I had to make a follow up appointment. Still won’t see me in person. I was disconnected 2 to get that processed. I will never trust this place again.

  • Gella Spencer

Hard to get ahold of and never returns messages! I've been calling to follow up on an important health issue for at least 4 months to no avail. It is highly irresponsible for a health care facility to leave a patient dangling and without important medicines! I finally switched PCPs & will never return to Kingwood Family Practice! Don't trust this place with your health, you're just a number on their paycheck!

  • JayGee

Dr. Gross Pierce has been my doctor since moving to Kingwood and I would never consider switching providers. They are very considerate and thorough - all the nursing staff have always been very nurturing and caring. They also do telehealth appointments, and I've always been able to schedule an appointment within 1-2 days, or even same day. Couldn't ask for better.

  • Margaret Peery

I'm surprised at some of the reviews here. I've been a patient of Dr. Gross-Pierce for over five years and have never had a bad experience. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the doctors have also been tremendously efficient. Appointments may take a day or two, but they will work you in for an emergency and always provide excellent and informed care.

  • Luis Arguijo

By far the worse experience I've ever had in a medical practice, I came in for a sore throat, and only wanted to be tested for strep, The PA and nurses there at this practice insisted on giving me a Covid test and would not perform any other test without testing this first. I have never ever heard of this. This is in violation of my rights as a patient.

  • Chris Crawford

I have been a patient at KFP for over ten years. Enjoy the staff and particularly Ms. Jimenez RNP that takes care of my annual physicals and general needs. Her nurse Cindy also is very personable as well as the office personnel. Recommended to me by a friend and I would recommend also of you need a dependable practice that is easy to schedule with.

  • timmy donny

Really bad about returning calls, and following up on prescriptions with your insurance company. My insurance company needs a letter from the Dr. to approve my meds and its been over two months now. (Just glad I had enough to get me through) I will be going somewhere else now. Sad because this is right down the street from me, so covenant.

  • Deb West

I just had my first visit to Kingwood Family Practice and have to say that the staff was the most courteous and friendly I have ever encountered and Dr. Weaver could not have been any more helpful or personable. This is the best experience I have ever had at a doctors office. Kudos to a well-run and courteous team of professionals!

  • Neal Overstreet

Kingwood Family Practice is terrible. Was a patient for several years and had to continually fight with them for a simple daily prescription. They use to want to see me every 6 months to renew my prescription then all the sudden they told me I need to come in every 3! Find a doctor willing to listen to you and answer their phones.

  • kat nsm

I've been here (virtually and in person) a handful of times. I don't always see the same Dr but everyone seems efficient and attentive. They return my calls and do follow up ones that save me an extra visit. I appreciate that I never have to wait a long time in the waiting room, they don't overbook as badly as others.

  • Chris Guerra

Absolutely recommend to anyone in the area (or even outside of it). Dr. Pierce has a passion and enthusiasm for the work she does and is a wonderful caregiver. I'm not sure what these negative reviews are all about but they do not reflect on the level of care I have received here by both doctors Pierce and Weaver.

  • MADDIE BATTS

I've been to the office a couple of times and the staff is fantastic! the front desk is amazing and the providers help out any way they can. any problems or issues I have had the staff has been excellent in a timely manner. I would recommend this office to my family and friends for their healthcare needs!

  • william valdemar

I have strep throat only got a shot nothing for pain so I can eat I told the doctors what I've been taking and it hasn't been working and they told me to keep using what I was using ended up going to the ER that night to get better medicine antibiotics and something to help with the pain

  • Tommy Curry

My wife and I used KFP for years. About the time we get used to one doctor they would leave. Apparently a problem with the management. After Harvey last year they have really gotten bad as far as seeing patients in a timely manner. Having an appointment does not mean anything.

  • Brandon Hartsaw

Dr. Stephanie Gross Pierce is amazing, as are the other staff members. My family and I have been going to this practice for over 15 years, and the genuine care and concern Dr. Gross Pierce and her staff display is amazing. I highly recommend Dr. Gross Pierce.

  • Michelle Marsh

The visit was ok today, not great but not terrible... but they have not called in my Rx and now it’s late and the med only works first 48 hours so now it will be too late tomorrow morning. Also, after hours answering service is no help at all and very rude.

  • Bana10Hits

Waited a very long time to see a very rude doctor for a yearly checkup. At the end of the visit she wouldn't refill my asthma medication because she couldn't find a record of it. I have been getting it here for over ten years and she couldnt find my record!

  • Carl Gregerson

Everyone at the Kingwood family practice office is professional, kind, and extremely helpful. Anytime I’ve needed a referral. They have gotten it done within basically minutes. I really appreciate all of your hard work and it has been a great experience.

  • Ololade

Dr. Pierce and the wonderful staff at Kingwood family Practice always makes my visit welcoming, comfortable and easy. The ladies always have a smile on their faces and are willing to answer any questions I might have. Thank you for your customer service!

  • Jennifer Arnold

I absolutely love Lorena Jimenez, She is so calm and helpful. She is very thorough and always makes me feel comfortable. I always recommend her to everyone. She takes time to listen to your concerns and is just so caring. I really hope she never leaves!

  • M J

Apparently they don't keep up with things. They lost my labs and then tried to say I never got my blood taken there. I did. I was given the card to check up on my blood work but was never able to access it. Won't waste my time coming back here!

  • Lori Julia Ridge

Front Desk VERY rude. They did everything they could to tell you "NO". From one patient to the next.....no no no.......one phone call to the next no no no! I bet the Free clinic has a nicer bunch of hobos in the back ally. DO NOT GO HERE

  • Lisa Warren

Every time I call I’ve always been told whether I would be seeing the dr or nurse practitioner and both have been exceptional. No complaints whatsoever. This practice has come back after rebuilding from Harvey and is doing a great job!

  • Kat Murray

Was set up for a phone visit. Sick as a dog. So they made me wait till after my appointment time, I had to be the one to call THEM just to be told they can't see me over the phone. But also they will not see me in office. What a joke.

  • J Kitz

Just would like a simple phone call back. Left a message, Wednesday, Thursday (also sent email) and Friday with no response. Seems to be a theme. Simple request too…very disappointed in the service I continue to receive.

  • Lexi Mathews

Such A great staff they always call back at a good timely manner they go above & beyond they always listen to my concerns. they always get me in quickly for appointments front desk is incredible !

  • Jessica DeLorenzo

Short to wait time. EVERY SINGLE PERSON I encountered was friendly and attentive! Dr. Pierce was attentive and spent a significant amount of time talking with me about my health. A++++

  • Bill Douglas

Been seeing the doctors there for 20 years and receiving great care. But I just can’t understand why they can’t answer the telephone and/or return calls. It’s frustrating .

  • Robert White

I am very fortunate to have found a doctor like Dr. Pierce. I feel like this entire practice cares about my issues from the time I arrive until the time I leave.

  • Carolyn “Carrie” Ferran

The people at this office are all friendly and I have visited recently however every prescription requested has been denied and I do not understand why??

  • Julie Burgos

Don't waste your time! Staff and doctors are extremely rude! Doctors treat you like you're a drug addict seeking drugs and dismiss you! Go somewhere else!!

  • Leah Rodriguez

Very difficult to get anyone on the phone. The nurses are good about call backs when you leave a msg however the front desk seems to never be available.

  • Alexis Marks

I have been a patient there for quite some time now, the staff and everyone are nice and welcoming from the start, I appreciate the work they do!

  • Timothy Baker

Dr. Pierce has been our family doctor for years. She is a wonderful doctor and has always helped us day or night whenever we have needed her.
