KOMPANNA VIDIYA RAILWAY STATION | කොම්පඤ්ඤවීදිය දුම්රිය ස්ථානය. කොම්පඤ්ඤවීදිය දුම්රිය ස්ථානය යනු ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ කොළඹ නගරයේ පිහිටි දුම්රිය ස්ථානයකි. එය නගර මධ්‍යයේ කොම්පඤ්ඤවීදිය ප්‍රදේශයට දුම්රිය මගින් සේවාව සපයයි. දුම්රිය ස්ථාන ගොඩනැගිල්ල එහි ඓතිහාසික ගෘහ නිර්මාණ ශිල්පය නිසා ඉතා වැදගත් වේ. එහි ගෘහ නිර්මාණ ශිල්පය සිත්ගන්නා සුළුය. කොම්පඤ්ඤවීදිය දුම්රිය නැවතුම්පොළ ඉදිකරන ලද්දේ යටත් විජිත යුගයේදීය. එය 1870 ගණන්වල ආණ්ඩුකාර විලියම් හෙන්රි ග්‍රෙගරිගේ රජය යටතේ ඉදිකරන ලද්දකි. වෙරළබඩ මාර්ගය මුලින් නිර්මාණය කර තිබුණේ ගාලුමුවදොර පිටිය හරහා වන නමුත් එම ස්ථානය මඟහරින ලෙස මහජනතාව කළ ඉල්ලීම් හේතුවෙන් කොම්පඤ්ඤවීදිය හරහා විකල්ප මාර්ගයක් සකස් කරන ලදී. කොම්පඤ්ඤවීදිය දුම්රිය ස්ථානය ඉදිකරන ලද්දේ මාර්ගය ඉදිකිරීමෙන් ටික කලකට පසුවය.1913 දී එය ද්විත්ව වේදිකාවක් සහිත වෙරළබඩ මාර්ගයේ පළමු දුම්රිය ස්ථානය බවට පත් විය. වර්තමානයේ දුම්රිය ස්ථානයේ තත්ත්වය පිළිබඳව නම් එතරම් සතුටු විය නොහැක. දුම්රිය ස්ථානය අවම පහසුකම් යටතේ පවතී. වැසි දිනවල දී දුම්රිය ස්ථානයේ තත්ත්වය ඉතා නරක වේ. ප්‍රසන්න ගතියක් ද එහි යන ඔබට වර්තමානයේ දැනෙන්නේ නැත. මෙම දුම්රිය ස්ථානයේ සෑම මන්දගාමී දුම්රියක්ම නවත්වනවා ඇත. ඊට අමතරව අර්ධ සීඝ්‍රගාමී සහ සීඝ්‍රගාමී දුම්රිය කිහිපයක්ම ද නවත්වනවා ඇත. කොම්පඤ්ඤවීදිය දුම්රිය ස්ථානය කොල්ලුපිටිය සහ මහලේකම් කාර්යාලය දුම්රිය ස්ථානයන්ට මැදිව පිහිටා ඇත.

එය උප දුම්රිය ස්ථානයකි, නමුත් හොඳින් නඩත්තු කර පිරිසිදුව තබා ඇත. මෙහි නාන කාමර තිබේ. දුම්රිය කාලසටහන් ප්‍රදර්ශනය කර අවශ්‍ය විට යාවත්කාලීන වේ. වේදිකාව තරමක් දිගු වන අතර බොහෝ දෙනෙකුට නවාතැන් ගත හැකිය, නමුත් එය උදේ සහ සවස තරමක් ජනාකීර්ණ වේ. වැස්සෙන් හා අව්වෙන් වැසීමට හිසට ඉහළින් වහලක් ඇත.

Slave Island is a very busy commercial area with many government offices, restaurants, hospitals, corporate offices, cinemas, religious places, and residencies. The Headquarters of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Sri Lanka Army, and the City Football League are also located in here.

Generally a busy Railway Station on all working days in the Morning and Evening. Majority travel from and to are Office staff since the most Office complex are surrounded near this station. Bit old, long platforms either side could accommodate more crowd in busy days.

Anyone taking a coastal line train to get to locations like Nawaloka Hospital, Jaic Hilton, Commercial Bank Card Center, or a number of private bank headquarters at Nawam Mawatha will arrive at Slave Island Railway Station as their destination.

Very old but nicely renovated and kept. It's wheelchair accessible from both platforms. Has a overhead passenger crossing. Tickets counter toilets are only available on platform #1 (Down south platform)

A crowded station with all kinds of people. Messy road system due to an abandoned flyover project, that led to cover all entrances with mud on rainy days. Washrooms!!!! Don't think about it.
