Some info on the website is outdated (especially times and what's included), so do give them a call if you're coming for the first time. We had a lovely getaway weekend in a cabin, The reception was friendly and helpful, and the cabin was very warm (October). The only thing is the mattress in the cabin was a bit old, I could feel every spring of it. But hey, it's still more comfy than the floor:) Things to plan for: - You need to bring your beddings, towels, AND pillows / blankets. - Only one cocoon has a double bed (vs two singles), so call before you book to make sure they allocate you there. Good things: - You can check-in online and come at any time, the keys are in a locker at every cabin and cocoon. - They have a proper warm toilet building with sinks and warm water. - The cabins have all the cutlery, pots, bowls, mugs, utensils. UPD: replying to your reply: I mean your official website, on the Lee Valley domain.

We stayed during the coronation weekend for 3 nughts. The price was very reasonable but we had booked last year before we knew the coronation was happening When we arrived there was an issue in reaching the EHU as everyone had for some reason plugged into our allocated pitch. This was eventually sorted. The shop was handy but extremely expensive and limited choice. The location was a little further out of central London and costs around £30 for an Uber getting in and £44 coming back after midnight and is about a 40 min drive, so make sure you allow travel time. There is a golf course with lake we had a walk around which was pleasant enough. The main issue for us was the cleanliness of the shower rooms which were extremely poor. There was a policy on acceptable noise levels between 8am-11pm but kids were running around screaming at 7am! If your a golfer and have kids this is probably your idea of a good time.

Poor cleaning. I assume as it was a busy weekend this was not accomadated for. This is part customers fault not putting rubbish in bins or flushing toilets but the facilities cleanliness was extremely poor. Floors were dirty in showers.

I think this is the dirtiest campsite I've ever been to. People have been posting here for some time about how dirty the sanitary facilities are, but apparently nothing is done about it. The "cleaning lady" pulls the dirt towards her with her feet, I haven't seen her use a wiper. The toilet flushes so sparingly that it takes nothing away. Yuck!!! That the ladies could behave better is beyond doubt, but I really haven't seen such a filthy stall. Moreover, anyone can get in and out through the back entrance, so the place is not very safe. There is a security guard with a Rottweiler, but he was rarely to be seen. And that in this not very posh and littered area! In May, there were notices on the square that a fish & chips snack bar was coming on Wednesdays in April. Waited for it, nothing. On the internet it says it comes on Fridays. Waited for it, nothing. Asked at reception... "No, he's coming on Sunday". We didn't want to rely on that. Public transport connections are quite good, you can be in London City within 40 minutes. But next time we will definitely be back in ChrystalPalace. It's old, but super clean. You can take an example from here.

We stayed here for 3 nights at an electric tent pitch. The toilets were extremely dirty and hadn't been cleaned for 3 days whilst we were there. There were only 5 showers for gents for the whole camp site which were also very dirty. Some showers also didn't have hooks. The location was great with the canal being very close to cycle to and around 8 miles into London The pitches were flat and looked after however there weren't lines to separate pitches making it difficult to know where to pitch. We were originally put in a pitch in a corner on quite a slope so we moved pitches We won't be going back since it was so dirty and not well looked after and the campsite needs to improve their cleanliness.

You can ice skate, go to the cinema and there is golfing next to the camp site.
Walkability
It isn't possible to walk to Epping forest as you have to go on roads which are quite far. There is a bus stop near by making it easy to get into London. Station near by with trains straight into London. Great for cycling

Horrible Would not stay in the camping pods every again. The place is run down the bathrooms are filthy, the water drinking area filthy and inside the actual so called “glamping pod” was horrible. Not worth the money at all it was small no bedding camp beds that when laying on basically don’t exist. I didn’t receive the email with the stuff u needed to the next day. There was footpaths that lead up to our window of our room making the experience really uncomfortable. Holes in the wall that people poorly attempted to glue together. It was covered in webs spiders and no where to put the kettle as the plug was on the other side above the bed. The reception was rude didn’t even know we was going and when I went their at 6:45 to get some of the camping stuff to try and make the thing bearable was told it was shut even though it closed at 7:00. I was in the scouts for 6 years and I would much rather stay in a tent than this so called glamping pod. Would not recommend staying here at all

The amenity block was disgusting, the sinks in the male side were covered in dead flies and not cleaned over a whole weekend, the sky light diffusers were smashed and hanging out of the ceiling, there were no shower drain covers, and no clothes hooks in the cubicles. The ladies side was not quite as bad, however, two of the three showers were inadequate; with one drain blocked and the other hardly running, all three were grimy. On the site, I dont know about the caravan side, but the tent area from 6am is a highway for golfers who walk with their rattling golf trolleys inbetween all the tents, they are not considerate in the slightest. We won't be returning.

I stayed here for 2 weeks out of necessity, I'd already planned for it before realising that the prices on the website are completely wrong. I was charged over £200 more than I thought I would be. I only used the showers once and they were quite dirty and in need of a lot of repairs. The facilities in general were okay, but completely not what I'd expect for a campsite charging £450 for 2 weeks. Before I booked, I asked if I could book another stay in a few weeks time, I was told that you could only have one stay every six months. No wonder it was half empty! Don't camp here, go to Theobald's campsite just down the road for a quarter of the price, much friendlier, more present staff and clean facilities!

The dirtiest shower block of any site we've ever stayed on (blood on the wall of the ladies and all over one of the men's toilets) . The location is admittedly OK for getting into London but the surrounding area is pretty grim. We booked for 2 nights (£128!!) But left after one as it was so horrible. Some people seem to live on the site permanently, obviously there is a housing crisis in London but but beat up old caravans full of rubbish is a bit grim on a supposed holiday site. It did have quite a nice playpark which was bizarre as the rest was so horrible. Lots of European campers and I was embarrassed if they think this is representative of an English campsite!

  • kristy Vidler-Green

Campsite was well kept and clean. Cabin (sleeps 4) came with fridge, microwave, kettle, hot plate and cooking utensils. It also came with a TV but no remote so not easy to use. There was a place to use a BBQ and a picnic bench. The benches could do with a clean and some need replacing. There are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants/fast food nearby. Overall I would recommend this site.

Very good online check-in allocates your pitch number and gate codes on email so you can arrive after reception closes. Facilities are a bit tired, hooks missing from shower doors, all looks a bit drab. Washing machines, iron, plugs for charging phones. Lots of hot water. Close to M25 access. Frequent bus to Edmonton runs early until late. We had no problem getting an Uber. Google gives the turn for Pickets Lock instead of campsite entrance, so check if using it for Odean is a good landmark.

Me and my family stayed for 6 nights ,a very quiet site clean and tidy and has everything you need to enjoy your camping holiday , we had one problem with our first tent pitch but after reporting the problem to reception it was rectified straight away ,we had a very enjoyable week camping, my only advice to anyone visiting is to take plenty of insect repellant and antistamines.

It is near London, so that is great. The places for the motorhome are fine. The real down side of this camping are the facilities. Old, bad maintained, and dirty. There are no clothings hooks and nothing to put your things on while you take a shower. I have asked many times during our stay if they could solve it and they always said maintenance is working on it. We stayed for 5 days..

An excellent campsite, staff are friendly and helpful. The pitches are a generous size, hard standing for our motorhome, and a good-sized grass area. The toilets & showers are very good and clean. The bus stop is a short walk away where we caught the W8 bus to Edmonton Green bus station. The Overground railway station is a short walk from the bus station.

We signed up to a cycle event in London so booked two nights here for a camper. Surpassed expectations! The site itself is kept in great nick. The communication prior to stay was excellent. Shop staff were welcoming, friendly and chatty. Facilities were regularly cleaned. You really cannot under-appreciate hygienic toilet and shower facilities on a camp site! Thanks so much to everyone involved making this such a brilliant location.

Stayed here twice now, both times we were visiting to see concerts. Fairy easy to get into London as there is a bus that the station from the site (although trains were cancelled and had to get replacement buses to the underground) facilities great and plenty to do on site. Very clean. Only downside was no dogs allowed in the pods.

  • Little Miss Sparkle

Friendly staff, all facilities you would expect, you can hire a bike to go along the canal. Unfortunately is is about a mile to walk to the canal even though it’s right next to the site. The local area doesn’t have much to recommend it but it’s easy to get to central London and the site is pleasant to relax in.
