Leigh High School is a great school. No, scratch that, it's a fantastic school. There are great teachers here at Leigh, especially for many of the rigorous AP courses, as well as the honors. These teachers challenge the students at a critical level, and actually understand the material they are teaching. Many of them are not here to collect a paycheck, but genuinely care for the student's well-beings (amazing right??). The same can be said for the rest of the administration, including the principal, deans, counselors, etc. Each year, the school is adding new courses for students to take, like physiology and AP Computer Science. It's constantly building new parts and improving each year, by adding courses are physically making the school better (like the remodeling of the library). The schools itself has a variety of students from many different backgrounds, adding culture and diversity all around. This range of demographics has given rise to great clubs, such as Spanish club, French Club, etc. There is a good balance between competition and collaboration, at an academic level and at a sports level. The academic courses offered at this school will definitely prepare students for college. More importantly, A's are not given. They are EARNED (especially after freshman year). Many students, if not all, are warm and welcoming. I haven't experienced any bullying or had any such problems. People mind their own business. If you don't go looking for trouble, then trouble won't come for you. Our sports department is very well, competitive, and will have a place for everyone. The deans and counselors do a great job on transitioning us to college and giving us a detailed affair about life and options after high school, especially about financial aid info about college. Leigh constantly has admission officers coming in from various and respective colleges + universities, such as John's Hopkins, Yale, Harvard, etc. Leigh's environment isn't rigorously competitive, nor is it an extremely well-funded school, but opportunities are plentiful. It's up to the students to grab these opportunities instead of letting them slip by. Personally, I have loved all 4 years of my time here at Leigh. I've matured over the years and wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Anyone who says different simply can't appreciate something that has value or can't realize the opportunities offered here (and take such opportunities for granted). Don't get me wrong here, there are definitely a few kinks that need to be worked out but Leigh High School is honestly a great school filled with great people.

Prepared our kids for college. All of the teachers are very good. A few of the teachers are truly excellent.

They share percussion practice at top volume in my living room two blocks away at night. So generous.

This school is ok, but could use the less mechanical advantage from Mrs BUULie. 3 out of 5 stars

Memories. I'm a Longhorn class of 1989. It's amazing this school is still there and running.
