Not much of a gamer anymore, but do seek out DVDs/Blu-rays. They do often have some decent stock, but it's pretty much always the same stock (guessing not many know to trade in here, or go elsewhere). As a result, I maybe come here once every 3-4 months and usually purchase 4-6 items. Gripe 1 is I truly despise their stickers. Titles often have 5 stickers on them. 3 cover each side other than the spine (definitely to prevent in-store theft, which I get), another on the spine to identify the pricing (which is a decent idea in principle) & the 5th is the price itself. All 5 of these stickers leave a nasty residue, especially the spine & price stickers. Plus the time to remove these is irritating. Gripe 2 is the pricing. Not ALL of the pricing, but a good chunk is definitely over-valued. Level Up does sell on eBay, and are aware of what harder to find titles sell for there. They will often price to that higher level, but don't take into account that a LOT of their product is used, partly damaged, will be damaged by their stickers (or shelves..), or just plain feel diiiirty to touch (they don't replace cases here from the appearance of things). Outside of that, I have had zero issues with staff. They've always been outgoing and pleasant. Those that have been there for years do offer the respect a customer deserves for purchases. Cannot speak to trade value as I have not brought items in yet for this.

This place. Honestly I got nothing bad everything good, 360 games I got there work great, purchased a ps2 slim but has issues with the controller. They set me up with a wireless one, of course, return of the broken controller and a little extra ontop to get the new one and a ps2-hdmi. Super happy!!!!! I wasn't expecting to like this shop as much as I do. But GIVE it a shot. !! I went to gamestop this month lol just don't go here instead. Big thanks to the staff who helped me with the silver controller. Previous review!! Below Purchased 360 games here, great competitive pricing without feeling like they're attacking your wallet. Thanks again levelup! My only criticism is I don't know where to lock my bike during my visit. I have to change my ONLY criticism. I purchased a ps2 slim there with controller was told very short return period. So I tried it out, the controller X button seems to not work. Fingers crossed we can figure something out

Man has this place gotten worse over the years, 7-8 years ago this place was a gold mine of amazing video games, great deals amazing staff. Fast forward to now, horrible small selection of games (overpriced too) everything is ebay prices or above too, staff is friendly but not to pleasant when it comes to bringing in video games in for trade. Would i recommend you come here to trade video games in or to buy anything? Absolutely not I'd stay clear of this place because their trade credit is horrible and they are a pain in the butt because they require 2 pieces of id to even look at what you brought in and then do all these unnecessary steps afterwards. So basically a waste of time to bring stuff in. Now for buying video games depends what you're looking for but cant guarantee or say they'll have rare or good games in and if they do its probably overpriced by even eBay standards. So sad to say but i won't be ever coming back again.

A HUGE HUGE HUGE toast to #levelup on 17th Ave SE. Our family had a slight family issue so our 13 year old son walked our almost 7 year old son down to grab some PS3 games to keep him occupied and out of the house for a bit. The staff there were AMAZING! They helped the boys find games kiddos can play. The only bad part (not bad bad, just first world problems bad lol) of that was the Spiderman game they showed that was $80, and the boys didn't have enough for that game, so the youngest was a bit sad, but I told him we'll save up to get it. Thanks again Level Up staff!! You guys saved the day. Thanks for helping my boys, and not treating them like shoplifters or ignoring them because they're kids. Great job! I don't know who the manager of the store is but whatever staff was working this evening definitely deserve a big big big good job.

I decided to drop by and check out the DVD/Blu Ray selection after a year or so from my last visit. The selection was a little underwhelming, perhaps it had been picked over after the holidays and the shelves had yet been replenished. Prices were okay, not the best considering the condition of most of the items. Creasing, wear and tear, sticky adhesive was on a lot of the nicer items. Box sets and less common items suffered from this in my opinion the most. If you're looking for more niche titles you won't find much. Criterion, Arrow Video, and Horror titles were slim, if any. From a collectors standpoint it was hard to justify. Staff was friendly and the store was relatively clean. This review is only of the DVD/Blu ray section of the store.

The person at the store knew their stuff and was engaging and pleasant and helpful and easy to talk to. And he knew which games had the Deals on and when asked about an little bit older of a system he knew exactly what I was looking for just with the little bit of a information I remembered from when I first played it the game back in the early 2000's. And he was very accommodating to me when I had to explain and describe to him what game I was looking for with only a small amount of information I was able to tell him then. And the place is clean and inviting and welcoming and good open to all gamers and all systems old and new then.

Kyle was amazing!!! I called asking about a PS1 and he was really friendly and informative, but in store was where he was really shining! He helped me a ton with answering all my questions with the console, games, etc. Then he showed me some extra games that had just come in so I could have a chance to see the whole selection before they had even hit the floor. Awesome!!! He made great jokes, made me have a lot of fun, went out of his way to help me out, all while answering the questions I had. It was an awesome experience and I'll be coming back to Level Up just to see Kyle! Keep up the great work and the man deserves a raise haha!

This video game store was definitely a change from the norm. It had a bunch of old-school games from all genres AND it has clothes and a bunch of those funky pops. The neat thing is that they separate it from the games. All in one section there's clothes and accessories and in the other section there's games. There's also a section for blurays and even board games. There was even pictures you could buy to hang on your walls. I'm a big transformers fan and almoooost bought a couple of them. Overall they have a large assortment of everything which is nice and no pressure to buy anything and the staff is really welcoming.

Save your money and the grief of shopping here. Absolutely the worst service I've ever had. Their policy is that you leave your bag at the counter, however they don't bother putting it BEHIND the counter. They'll then tell you that they are not responsible for any stolen items, after you are forced leave you bag with them in an secured area. Games and videos are way over priced. Coupled with the arrogant staff and unhelpful attitude, the worst shopping experience I've ever had. The best part? There's A WAY better store three doors down.

  • Baptiste HOBBE

The team is amazing: friendly, knowledgeable, geeky enough and with the right business spirit. Same good surprise for the products: great selection of retro consoles and games in superb condition and surprisingly well priced, better deals than local marketplace for spotless consoles, with a warranty. I am currently building a retro-gaming section at home and the team has been able to guide me, steering my purchases to relevant stuff while providing honest advice on what to avoid. Thank you, you have my future business!

  • NottheCIA

I love this place it has a great selection of movies and games! The prices are much better then the other gaming store I could mention with the initials TVT. They also have a growing selection of board games, action figures and video game apparel! If you're a nerd/geek you will love it here, if you're shopping for one, this place has everything you could need. I bought a wired Xbox 360 controller here Sunday and the staff tested it in front of me and even cleaned it! I'll be back for sure!

  • trent burke

I stood at the counter today for 5-10 minutes waiting for service while one of the employees stood their dusting, he looked over at me 3 times the other employee thought it was more important shrink wrapping stuff than serving me also. Some prices are great and others are rediculously far fetched and over priced. I miss it when this place was good with good employees and was called Disc X. If you want a difficult time and hassle then go here, otherwise don't waste your time.

  • Matthew Hayhurst

Level Up is fantastic! You have the largest selection of video games, DVDs and more! The staff are always friendly and are very knowledgeable about the urban/gaming culture. They're great people to talk to, as they know about the products and genuinely care. For all your electronics and urban apparel, I highly recommend Level Up! It's worth the drive no matter where you live in the city!

  • Dylan M-J

I had one of the best experiences I could have had shopping here for used games with my son. The thing I enjoyed the most was that the employee helping us (I believe was Kyle), treated my son like a customer instead of the child of a customer. He was very knowledgeable on the products we were looking for and was eager to assist our needs. I would definitely suggest for others to go here.

  • Matthew Henry

This store carries many video games that me and my older brother put countless time into during our childhood. The staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful. Along with nostalgia, they also have some of the newest consoles. It dosent stop there. They also have two entire rooms FILLED with merchandise for all of the best pop culture shows, movies, and games. Best store ever.

  • Emily Diehl-Zenisek

Level Up is a great store. They have a huge selection of games for all consoles (including vintage) and DVDs - you can happen across series and movies I've never seen anywhere else! Plus, their selection of fan apparel and accessories is wide and varied. I could easily spend a couple hours just browsing. Great place to finish (or start) your collection, or find super gifts.

  • Bianca Racicot

***SCAM ARTIST!***** Avoid this place at all cost! They are scam artists. Brought in $1200 worth of games and wasted an hour of my life. They offered me $100. They are perfectly aware of the values of games but still offer you pennies. They take advantage of their customers. Liars and thieves. Game stop offers better trade credit than these pirates.

  • Jenna Priaulx

Friendly and helpful. Totally understand why they couldn't take a few things i was bringing in. Explained everything thoroughly. Only downfall I ran into is the didnt have any of the games I was looking for. Which I know isn't their fault. But its my only disappointment. Ended up leaving with 2 pairs of matching slippers for the hubby and myself.

  • Brad Chase

Wonderful little second hand video game/collectibles store! Very friendly, knowledgeable staff who are ready to help you find even the hardest to find items. Worth searching out and exploring regularly as there stock naturally changes daily. They even offer a scratched disc fixing service, my Wii disc came back pristine! Very highly recommended!

  • Angelo Mariano

I love this place! The staff is always super helpful and friendly both over the phone and in-person. I've bought plenty of my consoles and games with them and found no issues and they have a great selection of clothing and accessories. If you're looking for your video game needs and would rather support locally, I 100% recommend this place

  • David Larsenger

Very friendly and helpful staff, Always ready to get up and check things for you. Great and huge selection of Consoles, Movies, Games, Paraphinila And funko pops. I can literally spend hours in this store, best game store I’ve ever been to, been going here since I was a child and you can even sell your video games, movies and Consoles!

  • Arty Arts

When offering trade in, the offers were terrible, and when we did the trade, they told me I had to pay an extra dollar to do a police check as they could be stolen? If you're suspicious of me, why am I paying for it? It was like $20 credit they offered me... That's as anti consumer as it gets, if you're so concerned you pay for it

  • Jesse Wray Robbins

This place is AWESOME!! Amazing, helpful and super friendly staff and the prices are amazing!! I just purchased 5 PS3 games (unreal tournament III, borderlands II, and uncharted I, II, III) for only $28!!! That's pretty unreal in my opinion so hit up this shop for your video game needs! I promise you won't be disappointed!!!

  • Michael Anderson

Decent place for new and used items. Pretty much all systems and some accessories. As well as collectibles and boardgames etc.. Prices are competitive. Check out the pawnshop next door for more cool stuff. If you appreciate my reviews... please be sure to 'like' them. Thanks again for your time and consideration.

  • Jordyn Smith

Staff are knowledgeable and very friendly. Went shopping for a birthday present I didn't know much about and staff were kind in explaining in a non-condescending manner. Prices are FANTASTIC. Stock is awesome. Large space packed with little treasures. Would highly recommend over any EB Games etc. Present was loved.

  • Mark Seiler

A little expensive, but I've never had a bad experience while shopping here. A decent selection of games, movies and accessories/decorations. The staff have never been rude or pushy with me, and have answered all my questions to the best of their ability, never misleading me about the products I was purchasing.

  • Scott Svendsen

Always wanted to check this place out and after my first visit a couple weeks ago I was not disappointed. Staff was always helpful above and beyond the call of duty. Excellent selection of games and dvds imo. If you’re looking to check out a game store you haven’t seen before, head on down and browse around.

  • Jake B

Great staff, talkative and helpful. They have great knowledge of their products in stock as well as different problems. Love their POP collection and merch sections. They have a wide variety of franchises available to buy which only adds to their expansive and Impressive collection of new and classic games

  • Cedrid Lefthand

Friendly staff very welcoming the thing is they dont give good deals i walked out of there feeling ripped off sold my ps4 controller and 2 games I understand the games but my controller was in mint condition just dont go there thinking you going to get a good deal on your stuff plus they took a dollar off

  • Kayla Kayy

I really think this place rips you off for trade ins. Brought a 1TB ps4 and around 8 games. Got offered $120 for it all. Then the guy tried to say that my playstation was glitchy, and wasn't working correctly. Brought the same stuff to EB games, everything worked perfectly, got $260 for everything.

  • Benjamin Balla

Great game store. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The store wasn’t very big however. The game section only took up a small section of the store, and didn’t have much compared to other game stores I’ve been to in the past. Most of the store was filled with other trinkets.

  • Robert LePage

Was a great place to visit I had a bunch of older consoles and games to trade in and the guys at the store were great. I had my 2 year old with me and they were awesome with her as well. It was my first time in the store and I will definitely be back in the future!

  • Corey Schmold

Staff are very friendly and helpful. They are not there to take your sale. One guy there is nice to chat with, can go in to talk about games and he'll chat with you till another customer needs assistance. I'll always shop here. Reasonably priced. Awesome place!!!!

  • Tim Whistance-Smith

I found their used games section pretty lackluster, and they didn't even clean the dirty cases. Prices were all inflated compared to even other retro stores. There is a decent selection of nerd merch if that's your thing. For true retro fans it's probably a pass.

  • Aizon Bellam

Everyone there is super friendly and amazing! Always energetic and ready to help you with anything. They have a very large selection of games and consoles, as well as clothing, dvds, video game merch, and board games. It feels like a place you are always welcome.

  • Jane Donaldson

Stumbled on this place completely by accident and I'm glad we did! Lots of neat gear from t-shirts to games / consoles and memorabilia - even some Jynx gear mixed in the T shirts. Staff were awesome and we'll most definitely be back again. What a great find!

  • Mark Powers

One of the best trade in stores in town. Fair pricing when selling and fair prices when buying. Always treated me fairly and super friendly staff. Carry all kinds of merch. Parking is a little tricky, but you are allowed to park at the pawn shop beside them.

  • Cameron Turnbull

Great place. They've had random components I need, and the staff don't default to the cheap option when it's the same price. Prices are quite good. Customer service is great, didn't make me feel as if I was wasting their time for a simple, inexpensive item.

  • Anthony Lal

One employee is fair with trade ins. The other two including the owner are brutal with low ball offers. Then you see your stuff on their shelves marked up beyond price charting prices. I'll only bring items there to trade I cant sell online now …

  • freedumbofspeech1977

Honestly this place is truly an escape from the hustle and bustle........my only wish is a Sunday night block party that ends with Saturday morning cartoons pajamas and complimentary cereal and milk or pancakes for those who can't have dairy

  • Jay N

Over the years, I've come to this location quite frequent and I've always been appreciative of the staff that make the experiences fun whenever I trade in my gear towards other gaming products here. They do have a bit of variety in several

  • Greg homan

Unfortunately this place has gone downhill. No longer one of the great places for customer service. May have the games but not the business savy. If you're looking for a gaming business to support, I highly recommend anywhere else.

  • Jaswinder Brar

LOOK FOR YOUR GAMES HERE FIRST AND FINDEM! Thanx For Helping ME! you have the best selection and helpful understandable staff who know their products so well i got everything i needed on my first visit and i suggest everyone:

  • joshua hobin

Have always had a great experience, staff are friendly and very helpful. The used goods are top notch. The only gripe I may have are the prices for a few items can be a little steep, but it's not enough to cost a star. 5

  • Mason Schall

Level up is a great store to go when you are looking for games and movies as well apparel from belts, shoes to awesome board games. Always a great place to look for the super cool gift for a loved one or your self.

  • BatoOfTheWaterTribe

This is a great store the employees are very knowledgeable and kind. They were able to clean the scratches off my PS2 games and now look almost new and they helped me figure out what could be wrong with my PS2.

  • Channel 33 with Spongie

No overly impressed with game selection especially the older games like Sega, Nintendo, or PS1. They did however had an accessory that I needed but only comes with 1 week warranty which I thought was very odd.

  • Logan Murray

Very nice, open store and helpful employees. Videogames are priced fairly and well taken care of. They also have a lot of memorabilia for those looking for something interesting and unique to display or use.

  • Montana Snow

These guys sell fake products, beware. the fakes they sold me are on the right and the real ones are on the left. Business was so much better when drew worked there, now they can get away with selling fakes.

  • Donavon Ramsey

This is absolutely the best gaming store to buy and trade with good prices with consistent stock on new and old games the staff are well trained, honest, fare, knowledgeable and friendly love shoping there.

The staff is very knowledgeable very great at giving any recommendations to any system. And if they don’t have what you’re looking for they’ll look it up too see what they can’t do.

Prices are super hit or miss. Trade in prices are terrible, somehow Gamestop offers better trade in prices which made no sense to me. Great selection of games though and nice staff.
