Very pleasant staff with great local information for visitors, this park unfortunately caters more for cabins and caravans. Tent sites is a whole other conversation. Starting with the positive: reasonably priced, great grass area, large fire pit, ok camp kitchens, unisex amenities, fabulous security. Down side: camp sites for tents are near Warburton hwy, if you want quiet, this is not for you. Sloping sites so you can roll down while sleeping, dibits to break an ankle in. Not really big sites, so hard to fit my car in my space. No taps along the unpowered sites, if I needed a bucket of water, you would have to try and carry it for nearly half a kilometre, a new camp kitchen is coming and will make a difference. I guess I would have loved a heads up about the slopping sites, so I could of made an informed decision and saved my experience for another time when it wasn't a long weekend, so I could really pick and choose where I wanted to be. Sites 182 and 183 avoid.

This my true opinion based on my recent stay at "Pinehill Caravan Park- Lilydale" which we were camping unfortunately during March long weekend 2023. We were staying as a group of 3 families camping at the booked site. This site has regulations to go silent or mute after 10pm which means if we are gathering for a night laugh or play within your friends gang then you would get warned or cautioned. There are people doing long stays and are much suitable for this location after retirement to have a quiet atmosphere which is not my basic need camping outside for a break. Staff are constantly at you if you are awake after 10pm which feels insecure and makes us home sick to get back and finish the trip. The general suggestion is this place is good for day's stay and night is patrolled by staff wardens to warn and threaten to evacuate even if we have crying kids or noisy pets.

Ignore the rating here because this place is perfect for these reasons - 1. No other accommodation in Lilydale would offer a Saturday night without requiring an additional night or charging a much higher rate. 2. It was located close enough to the venue we attended (Vines in the Yarra Valley) for us to walk. (It rained. We drove) 3. Pleasant, quiet setting away from Maroondah Highway, yet a short trip to Lilydale central. 4. Super security conscious. No getting your car in or out without a code. (Entrance and exit are at different points of the park - no out through the in door) 5. Rooms are clean. Have the basics covered. Suited myself and the wife just fine

Booked a van site 6 months prior to our stay June long weekend. I had 3 main requests upon booking, close to toilets, close to camp kitchen and away from highway, all confirmed in an email to me so I paid a deposit. When I arrived 6 months later I was so disappointed to find our site furthest from toilets, furthest from camp kitchen and closest to Highway. Upon complaining to park staff I was told I was moved from my initial booked site because of the amount of rain they had. I understand a need to be moved but all 3 of my requests could not be met. I think as a minimum I should have received a phone call stating none of my requests could be met. Anyway I didn't let this ruin my trip, we had a good time and met some great guests at the park. While dissatisfied with the staff communication regarding my booking it is a great little park and wouldn't hesitate to visit again

Pine Hill is clean and well laid out and with pleasant staff who go that extra km beyond what they need to. It is within an easy drive to Lilydale and has a petrol station with the standard petrol station hot food/supplies available immediately next door. What stands out for me with Pine Hill is the high level of maintenance. Most parks fix/patch things after they break. So asphalt and concrete tends to remain cracked (or the cracks filled with crushed rock) as not being a safety hazard and things get repainted only when the paint is lifting. Pine Hill paints things before there is any obvious need. There is no broken asphalt or concrete – look carefully and you can see where whole slabs of concrete have been replaced and where the asphalt has been replenished. The bushes between drive-throughs are pruned into shape. A toilet block that was perfectly functional is currently being renovated.

Your classic overpriced caravan park. Booked a camp spot for one night, unpowered. Got a very small, uneven grass patch that could only fit one car for 41 dollars (2 people, car with rooftop tent). Unfortunately we were not able to level the car, because to grass patch was so uneven, we had to move to a parking spot nearby. The camp kitchen is not equipped and the other guests were very loud and even started arguing with each other during the night. Wouldn’t recommend going here if you don’t have to. Edit: Yes, we had the decency to call the reception in the evening to let you know that we had to transfer to the car park as the campsite was unusable. Didn't really have any other choice and you didn't offer one either. What I meant by overpriced was you don't get what you pay for. I don't care what your neighbors do, it starts with your own business.

Travelling Australia and yes it’s an ok park, however the owners/caretakers charge a whopping $15.50 for the dump point if you are not staying in the park. I understand people lack commonsense at times and dump points end up blocked. We have travelled thousands of km’s within this amazing country and stayed at 100’s of caravan parks and not once, have we ever encountered such inflated prices. What we have noticed is Victorian owners/caretakers of caravan parks in general seem to be extremely generous with a one time free usage of a dump point or at best a $5 fee. Shame on Lilydale caravan park.

We stayed in a one bedroom cabin and found it fantastic with its king size bed and large bathroom, very roomy cabin with everything you need also extremely clean. Best wifi we have had at any caravan park we have stayed at, great location with so much to do in the Yarra Vally. We will definitely be back.

I've been living in the park for 3 months. Its more like a gated community, great security but not in your face. There selection criteria for permanent residence shows the years of experience within management. The facilities are always immaculate, there well equipped laundry's and cloths lines are easy and cheap to use. They have recently expanded and now offer holiday accommodation, with plenty of powered and un powered site. The landscaping and maintenance of the grounds is second to none. The officer staff are always available to listen and helpful isn't the word, more than impressed.

  • Paul Barker

This caravan park is fine and I would normally rate something like this 4 stars but being charged $10 per child when there is only a tiny playground on one side of the caravan park is a rip off. Caravan parks charging$10 for a child need to be providing value for that charge it is insane and we won't revisit any that don't offer value for their charge The amenities where not great, clean and fine but below expectations for the cost. The location and staff are the only good things I can say about this park unfortunately

The worst experience of staying in a caravan park ever!!! Terrible location for the room near the entrance. I'm okay with old but dirty doesn't cut it. Room wasn't serviced everyday so no refreshed coffee etc or fresh towels. Noisy air conditioner. Dirty cutlery. Dirty Venetian blinds. Terrible shower head. Front light not working. I'd rather sleep in my car than stay in this room.

This caravan Park is Exceptional, extremely well maintained with very helpful friendly staff. Our Grandchildren loved the Playground, they even had Adult Exercise Equipment! The Camp Kitchen was cleaned and sanitised everyday, there were Sofas, Tables and Chairs and a Large ScreenTV. Outside the Camp Kitchen was a Herb Garden and a Large Fire Pit with Firewood. We had highly recommend this Quiet Beautiful Park and would definitely stay there again.

Spent four nights here. Very clean and not too expensive considering it’s close to Melbourne. Lilydale is a lovely little town within easy reach of some touristy spots. Kerry on reception was excellent. So helpful and courteous. Would definitely stay again. Perhaps the only issue we encountered was screaming kids running around other peoples sites. Unfortunately it is becoming a common trend. Thank you Pine Hill. We enjoyed our time with you.

  • Kaye Bye

Location and park was great. Cabin was lovely and clean. The only thing that tainted our stay was the rude staff member that contacted me by phone 2 days before our stay. To be told 1 thing when booking and then to be told another 2 days before our stay wasn't a problem. It was the tone of voice and the way it was delivered.

What a great park this was!! Awesome comfortable cabin with great utilities at our disposal nestled in a scenic hilly area on Melbourne's outskirts. Very friendly ladies welcoming you at the office and friendly residences and campers greeting you as you pass them by. Great friendly Aussie experience.... I couldn't count how many times I heard G'day mate ... how ya go'n? Recommend a visit to anyone curious

  • Lilchicn R

Needed a place for the night. Just a place to sit and cry alone, the night before Xmas eve. The ladies and staff were absolutely lovely. The cabin was amazing and at a great price. The surroundings are beautiful, go for a little walk around sunset. There is a lovely campfire where you could sit with a guitar. The grounds are lovely with all amenities and tourist attractions close by.

This caravan park is fantastic! Great staff, clean, dog friendly, with wonderful owners and staff. Everyone is very professional. My dogs and I were stranded during COVID without a place to live. This group not only let us come and stay, but the owner even loaned us a tent until we were able to get the use of a caravan. They went above and beyond to help a us out - great business!

  • Terri & Paul

Booked two days ago for a February 2024 booking (5 month notice) cancelled the same day via their message bank and rang up today to confirm cancellation and was charged a $25 fee to cancel "admin fee" as per their terms and conditions which was not explained at the time of booking nor did I receive an email to confirm booking. Very disappointed

  • Kathy Simmons

Location was ideal with family close by. Drive through parking for vans was good but touching distance to the vans beside us. Pet friendly and right next door to Budget pet supplies store. Clean facility and a nice fire pit area. Close to Warburton Hwy. Traffic noise not unbearable. Not the cheapest park we stayed in by any stretch. More

Top place :) near all the best Holiday destinations like a Gateway to the Yarra Valley and beyond, and the snow in winter up to Mt Donna Buang :) very peaceful, respectful, and non-imposing insofar that I have written many original songs here, well done all staff at Pinehill Caravan Park here in Lilydale. :) :) :) …

Our cabin was located right beside the Warburton highway and It was so noisy. And to make things worse we awoke to hedge trimmers and leaf blowers at 8 am in the morning for 1hr. So disappointed. My elderly mother was hoping for a peaceful holiday.

Stayed on caravan site for $47/night. Amenities ordinary but did the job. Not easy to park the van. Staff (Eyvonne) was pleasant. Price reasonable for long weekend. Hilly. Bit noisy on a main road, but I was place near, so down the back would be better.

Delivered a parcel the other day. Receptionist was very friendly and accommodating. The larger than life iron eagle sculpture at the gate was a nice welcoming element. I only saw little of what looked like a large property from reception area, but what I did see looked neat, tidy, and well-maintained.

  • Tracey Cooper

we may as well be sleeping in a truck parking bay. The hwy noise and lights are terrible. Our site is also infested with ants and so too now is our car and our camper. Kids are covered in ant bites from sleeping. No chance of using the new camp kitchen as the backpackers have taken it over completely.

a stop on the way around Victoria doing fieldwork, reception gave us a complementary tent peg hammer to borrow and my weary hands are grateful for it. There is an indoor plant in the bathroom so you just know it's a good place to stay 5/5
