It was really enjoyable, especially from a wheelchair person! The accessible seating area was the last row in the back of the modest auditorium; which was terrific, since the only chain, Regal, makes the disabled feel like 4th class citizens by placing us in front of ALL the seats, straining our necks to see the movies and ruining the sound quality, since surrounding sound means just that, not just one speaker blaring, usually the base. At living room theater we are treated well, even as a large group of us. Management were aware we were coming to a certain show, so the entire area was reserved, and as soon as the other show ended staff and management went in, cleaned and arranged the area appropriately and made sure we were all comfortable and satisfied. The snacks were another plus: served in REAL dishes, with ample portions, and seriously reasonable prices, three bucks for every "small" item (pint glass of pop, 4 cups of popcorn, etc....) The movie was great, not a lot of dumb commercials, great film quality and sound. The other patrons were also polite, people turned their phones off and didn't disrupt others, how nice!
The girl at the ticket window immediately gives me a dirty look when I walk up. I offer cash to see the movie and she responds “I’m not taking cash”No apology. She then offers me a seat, without telling me that I need to pay with a card or leave. I decide to speak to a manager. I walk in and pushed up very close to the door is a podium with a very abrasive man who squirts sanitizer in his hand and in a very rude tone puts his hand up and asks me for a vaccine card before I can even tell him I was unable to purchase a ticket, and would like to consult management. I turned around and ran what a horrible experience with some of the rudest customer service individuals I’ve experienced. I’m in the hospitality industry, and I can say without a doubt you would be doing yourself a grave disservice to provide this business with support. Despite challenges during the pandemic, the reputation of a business will be remembered by how they treat customers regardless. Rude and unapologetic is not a good look.
I liked the small group setup. They only had half as many seats as a standard theater, which did feel cozy. I thought the seats were lacking in comfort though. The couch option, which is just two adjoining seats with a central armrest that can be raised didn't work for me. When it was raised, it had a part that was not flush with the back of the seats which was uncomfortable. I found that the food delivery service in the auditorium was very disruptive. Do not like. They don't have a real ticketing system. Your ticket is just your seat number, which could be forwarded to another person. This leaves then open to replay attacks, relying only on the memory of the usher to know if any given seat numbers have already been seen. The flow of the place is lacking too. The line for ordering food takes up too much space, obstructing the entrance to the building, the hallway back to the auditoriums and their W.C. I don't know what I was expecting, but there were a lot of things I was not impressed with.
It is with great sadness I report on the decline of what used to be one of my favorite Portland movie houses. Signs of neglect now abound - stained carpeting, chipped and patched walls, worn seating, and an overall sense of cleaning deferred. In a dimmed theater, these disappear from sight, but tastes linger. Although we ordered our meal about 20 minutes before movie time, the order took nearly 40 minutes to arrive, well past the trailers and well into the film. And what arrived was disappointing. My wife's Gladiator Salad had an abundant supply of past-fresh lettuce and lacked any of the advertised Caesar dressing. She did not finish it. My $14 pizza could only be described as ten inches in diameter using a magnifying glass. The poor food might have been easier to digest had the tickets been a bargain. At $13.75 each plus processing fee, they were not. We might return to see a film, but not again to eat.
Man, I wanted to love this place. First of all, service was amazing. We had a female server and she was super attentive, friendly, and made the entire experience wonderful. We booked a private theater for our birthday party. The room was nice, it was very clean, and the sound was great. The second I ordered a drink, it was returned quickly and quietly. Great server! Now for the bad... the food was really, really bad. We had a room of 10 and only one person ate the food. The lamb meatballs were so dry and hard, we couldn’t cut them with a fork. They tried to remake them, but I think they must be prepared ahead of time and frozen. Super dried out and just... awful. The “papas”, which were supposed to be steak fries? Every single person on the room had raw potatoes. They weren’t cooked long enough. Every plate except one was full when we left and we had to eat when we got home, which was super disappointing.
So very sad to have such a bad experience at one of our most favorite venues to frequent. Our first time back to the theater since the pandemic and we did not know that we were required to buy a full dinner meal to attend a movie. Brought a couple of friends for the first time and we already ate and were going to enjoy some movie time and beverages. We were scolded by the person seating us that just this time they will let us in and not again and said sharply " we are not a Regal theater" We purchased our tickets online and did not see any language as such. the host was so rude in front of everyone in the theater. I was so excited to share this new place with friends and after this experience sadly won't be coming back. I really want to see this place succeed but after how horribly we were treated don't think my guests will come back either.
I love this place. This theatre makes me want to go see movies I wouldn’t otherwise go to the theatre for because of how much I love the vibe and experience here. With it being 21+ vaccine required I feel at ease being here: the best part is the concessions, they are eco conscious giving popcorn and sodas in dishes rather than single use tubs, all prices are very affordable, and they have JONES SODA on tap. I won’t go to any other theatre now because of how much I love this place. My only complaint is there isn’t anything playing when entering the theatre early so it’s a bit awkwardly quiet. This could be improved by them playing background music. 10/10 must visit!
Ahi salad for 15 is pretty be respectable. My only complaint is the popcorn is a little on the small side, and the only recliners are in the very front row, making the viewing experience less than what it could be. Note you will want to put salt on your popcorn, which is actually great, I just didn't realize they don't really put salt on it like most theaters. Timing your food to come in the theater is a little tricky also. We got there a little early so they just told us to eat in the bar. It's all reserved seats so buy your ticket ahead of time and just show up around showtime to order your food (ignore theater suggestion to get there early to order).
The place is ok. The seasoned brown suede seats make you feel like there might be bed bugs hanging around. They need to be chucked and upgraded to the same seats as the front row. I get it, that’s a huge expense. But honesty can be painful sometimes. I’m happy to pay 15-20 bucks a movie ticket for an upgraded theatre. The food was fine. But if you are going to serve food in theatre, bring your guests a side table or at least inform them of their existence. Preferably ones that don’t look like they haven’t been cleaned in a few days. Overall, nothing terrible occurred and I enjoyed my time. But I spent 15 minutes considering how it could be improved.
Practically perfect - intimate, great seats, great people. Parking is a problem; the pay lot across the street is 18 bucks for 3 hours. Just beware the amount of hot pepper in the meals. I'm one of those people that does not consider a burning sensation to be a flavor. I guess there are some chefs that disagree, but putting hot pepper in otherwise bland foods does not improve the recipe. The person who sells you the food does not have any way of knowing whether you will think it is too hot, so asking is useless. Capsaicin is a nerve toxin; it's the pepper's way of telling mammals not to eat it. Peppers are reserved for birds, who are not affected.
One of my long standing favorites. This is a cozy friendly theater with comfortable seating and food or drink to order and have with you while watching the show or have delivered right to your seat! They draw in all the great foreign and independent films as well as host to some film festivals. Comfortable seating, friendly staff, sexy bathrooms with a mirror magic surprise and good food. I love their sweet potato fries! Pro Tip: Go for early shows and happy hour, book online and you just pick up at window all for $8. Go on Mondays or Tuesdays for ONLY $5!! All with reserved seating and a great meal for under 10 bucks!
I want to start by saying this place has great potential. My significant other and I went to this theatre for a date night, wanting to try something new. Everyone was very kind minus the waiter. I’m not sure if it’s because they were under a lot of pressure as they were the only one behind the bar helping guest with drinks and food orders. Ask the seating just wasn’t really that great. The area outside of the movie room is very nice and then you walk into the viewing room and meh. However the tickets were fairly cheap, the actual theater just didn’t match the aesthetic of the rest of the place.
Very nice theater in the pearl district, similar to the Alamo Drafthouse in many ways. The bar was very classy with custom drinks and food based off of movies. Food orders are placed prior to going into the theater following which it will be delivered to your location. Drinks are picked up prior to going in. Seating is limited which is nice and they have a handful of loveseats and recliner chairs. I found the quality of the seating okay as far as comfort goes but leaps and bounds better than the old AMC theatre chairs. They play a nice blend of new Hollywood, classics, and indie flicks.
Pre-covid, this theater was pretty damn great. I can't even count how many times I would head to Powell's for a book or two and then catch a movie and dinner afterward. The conditions here are pretty abysmal now, like much of the rest of downtown Portland. Don't bother reading the menu here anymore, because everything is always sold out. Also, what the hell is up with the fries here? They are, without a doubt, the worst fries I've ever had. They're greasy, soggy, not even fully cooked through. If you're looking to overpay for a really subpar movie experience, this is the place for you.
Enjoyed the staff and theater accomodations. Sound system was good and theaters were small and intimate with xl seating. The cost for a ticket was $8.50. I did a double feature of 'barbenheimer' and saw two movies for under $20. I was disappointed the restaurant was not open due to staffing issues nor was it posted on their website, however the free drink refills were a nice consolation. I will say Barbie started about 15 minutes late and it took a few guests informing staff of the issue. Overall I probably have a new favorite theater, just hope it gets more staff soon.
I truly dig this venue and the movies they curate. Nice big seats, excellent sound and visual quality, in small theaters. They'll deliver your food order to your seat - that's hard to beat! The only issue I've had here is a recurring "We're out of that" when it comes to food menu items, which can be very disappointing. One night we were there it seemed as if they only had a very small percentage of the items on the menu. You might want to eat elsewhere on a high stakes date. Oh - and be sure to stop by the restroom for a surprise in the mirrors!
Run down. Not the movie/dining experience one would hope for. Ordered bratwurst...it would have been fine if they just didnt slather it in a cheesy creamy "something" sauce that gets bun virtually unusable. None of IPAs were available, even tho on the board. No place to place your food 'cept on your lap. Seats are worn and kinda creepy. There are many other options for movie/dining ... it's a shame. Would love to supporting this independent house...but, I cant do this again. Unless I dont eat/drink. Even Red Vines were tuff (old). Nope.
I'm not really a "go to the movies" sort of person. I like the comfort of home, the ability to drink a bottle of wine and to gorge myself on a cheese plate without judgemental eyes all while wearing sweatpants... which is why Living Room is literally the only theater I'll go to. Take a date, or take yourself on a date... the films selections are fantastic, the food is delicious (hello, happy hour) and I've rarely encountered staff more accepting of my life choices. They're also super attentive and amenable to food allergies!
Came here on 4/20/2022 to celebrateb my wife and I's ninth anniversary, as we visited this same location on 4/20/2013 celebrating our first anniversary. The place has some arrangements changes, but overall still the same homey feel and superior comfort seating as it did almost a whole decade ago! I would recommend this place to any couple looking for a quite "Dinner and a Movie" night out. The only criticism I bring to the table is to increase the menu size and include a more "waiter like" atmosphere in the theater itself.
I'm giving it two. I ordered my tickets online. I picked this place specifically for the bar, dinner, and the seating. You can't get refunded, but you can show up and find it out that the 2 out of 3 things are closed. So I got a comfortable seat. They have NOTHING online about their kitchen and bar. Even if I didn't want to stay, I was out $30 for the tickets. I was there April 29th 23. Soda and popcorn was reasonably priced, sodas had refills. The place was pretty nice, and it was comfortable seating.
So glad to be able to see movies in person again. As someone with autoimmune condition, I really appreciate requiring patrons to show proof of vaccination. The food options are great as well as the popcorn! One comment: the trays provided are good for bowls of popcorn and drinks but terrible for plates/food. Felt like it was going to slip off at any moment. Kinda hilarious try to eat during a movie/scene that is visually dark. A sconce near my seat would have been helpful.
This used to be my favorite my movie theater but management seems pretty awful now. They don't take cash and stop serving well before open? And don't list this on their website or anything. New competition like Studio One is putting them to shame. For downtown movies Cinema 21 is beating them. McMenamins has better service and friendly staff, which is really sad because they aren't great. I hope Living Room Theater can turn it around because they used to be great.
Never gotten refund for 2 weeks, without any emails... please respond at least.. UPDATE: After talking through phone, they have asked me to tell them my whole credit card number, including dates and cvv. I mean which company asks cvv for refund? I have never seen in my entire life. They said that they cannot refund through email for SECURITY problem and asked us for Credit card CVV... so ironic what they said about SECURITY MATTERS.. I am done with them.
Get there early and hope you don't get stuck with the furthest seats next to the wall as you can hear the movie next to you and its very distracting. Small little theatre rooms, which is quite nice/cozy, however seats fill up pretty fast. I love that there are tables for popcorn, snacks, and drinks! No setting stuff on the floor or lap.Great little bar in the front with sweet staff! I could hear the movie next door the entire time, bummer.
Had expectations that it would look like my living room.. More of typical theater seats with movable arm rests to create a "couch". Drinks and snacks were better than average. Snafu with the actual movie starting...fixed shortly thereafter... All good... The theater was dimly lit so much that it was dangerous to see steps, let alone our seat numbers... Had to use our phones' flashlight to see. Fix that and would be a good time.
Walked in with the intent of getting a beer before the movie, and despite their huge bar area, I was informed that they were not serving alcohol at this time. After the previews, the screen went black. The movie didn't start for 10 minutes..and it only happened because I left my seat to inform the manager since no one else had bothered..the movie was good once it actually got going. Seems like someone was really off their game.
I wouldn't describe this place as luxury or classy rather it's musty, shabby, dated, and disorganized. The movie chairs are worn upholstery which is disgusting. Outside the theaters the walls need painting and decluttering is highly needed. Also the food menu is limited to pizza and burgers but I'd suggest eating before you go unless you just need sustenance to balance the alcohol you'd be drinking to sit through a film.
The movie was great! The seats were comfortable. On street parking. Popcorn and drinks were served in OPEN GLASS (thus, heavier & slipperier) containers. The worst part was handicap seating. There were knee-high round tables in the way! No way to get W/C or walker to the seats we chose! (We didn't know that they were there when we paid.) Had to really disturb the other patrons to get to our seats. We won't be going back.
Loved this theater. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The food was quickly delivered and delicious. Vegan options on the menu is always a plus. The seats were comfortable and plenty of space so you don't feel cramped and prices were awesome. We usually can't go to movie due to back issues but the seats were pretty much couches. Plenty of parking nearby. Next to Powell's Books. I just wish I had come here sooner.
It was great, JUST the right size for sound and viewing, comfortable affordable matinees, great seating and accommodating our group of disabled and seniors. The food was fresh and reasonably priced, as well as pleasantly presented in REAL glass dishes and reasonable portion sizes. All told a matinee with a pint soda pop, quart of buttered popcorn was $13.00, very refreshing and rewarding on a fixed retirement income!
First movie theater since covid I've visited. Loving they still require covid vaccines to enter! Big seats so you're not on top of other patrons. Restaurant has decent food and worth dining before a movie. Popcorn is really great! Beer, wine cocktails are available and food and beverage can be consumed in the theater. They screen a lot of independent films and also most of the big blockbuster movies. Recommended!
I absolutely love this place. It's my favorite theater in Portland. Unfortunately, I'm not super into indie and foreign film. So I like going here when that have a mainstream movie, which is rare. The food is great. And the prices are reasonable (related to the upscale vibe). They serve good wines and beers. It's like a mcmenamins theater with smaller theaters, better food, better wine, and a cleaner atmosphere.
Oh, these seats are so roomy and nice. You can choose your seats when you buy your tickets but really all the seats are fine, no neck-wreckers because the screens are pretty small. The price is even cheaper than the mega-multiplex. Good coconut oil popcorn. Fancy foods and drinks. Great selection of indie films. The sound is good but not great. Close to Sizzle Pie and Powells. Overall a great theater experience.
For a small local theatre not a bad experience. The theatres aren’t huge! I liked that they weren’t too crowded. You need to snag your beverages ahead of time but a nice assortment of options compared to the usual. Wish that the seats had a little table as it was fine for cup holder drinks but a little awkward for ordering hot tea. Thankfully there is a bit of a flat surface between the armrests did the trick.
Solid enough place. The food is a bit meh, really just needs a bit of salt and spice. The bar selection is very solid, and the bartenders are kind, funny, and honestly pretty solid at mixed drinks. I appreciate the NA menu at the bar as well. It's always fun to have something flavorful to drink when being DD. The theatre seats are very comfortable, but do something to be desired when eating in the theatre.
This is such a fun and luxurious cinema. Although screen sizes aren't the same as the bigger corporate cinemas, everything is proportional and the visual and sound quality is just fantastic. Haven't explored the food enough, but what I've gotten I've liked. Same thing with the bar, but the whiskey ginger I got had house made ginger mix and it was delicious. How can you beat $5 Monday and Tuesday movies?!
I was a little nervous as there were some terrible recent reviews and decided not to eat there due to the reviews. But, when we showed up the place was pleasant, we could have easily eaten at the bar and the theater was comfortable. I didn't find it smelly or filthy as some had indicated and the staff was friendly, bathrooms were clean, and we found it a pleasant experience. I would go back!
I wouldn't have come all the way here if I'd known they are currently not serving food, bar, or coffee drinks, just an extremely small selection of candy, drip coffee, and soda. Despite that, we couldn't bring anything in either. AND ACCORDING TO OTHER REVIEWS, IT'S BEEN THAT WAY FOR MONTHS! Don't advertise food and drinks if you only offer them two days a week when movies are every day.
Beautiful theater, friendly staff, nice classy bar (could use a live pianist), small intimate theaters, could use further-reclining seats, sound and image quality is top notch, screens not as big as the mega-plex theaters but perfect if you don't need that. Clean, relaxing place, please visit this place while movie theaters still exist and before Portland implodes and becomes Mad Max.
Saw Tiger 24 - excellent documentary/film. The there was a Q & A with the filmaker and with an Oregon Zoo rep. Great way to celebrate my 64th birthday with my daughter. The living room theater was new experience for us. I enjoyed the comfy seats and spacious legroom, and a clean environment. We didn't partake of the food or drink so I can't comment on that. Hopefully next time.
I feel like this place would've been cool 10 years ago. Now it just seems outdated and dirty. Lounge chairs have become the norm in regular movie theaters so the weird, dirty chairs at Living Room just feel outdated. And they don't recline. We could hear the movie soundtrack in the theater next to us which was incredible distracting. Would not be high on my list to come back.
The coffee was the worst I ever had and they served it in a fancy cup. The movie I wanted to see had technical difficulties and I already had plans for the rest of my evening so I left and didn't even get to enjoy the movie with my friends so it was a total waste of time and money. The only good thing about it is they didn't even question Poochie's presence in the building.
Good food, kind of high prices for movies. They frequently have live jazz music, and a full bar and kitchen. The potato wedges that you can get with dinner are tasty, they max out at 5 wedges. Which is more than half of what you used to get(less than a year ago). The theaters are all assigned seating and they will bring the food to you at your seat, which i think is cool.
Love the cozy theaters and big comfy chairs here! This is great place for a date night. Although the food isn't any thing special, the bartenders are awesome and serve great drinks (I recommend the Spanish coffee, it's delicious and fun to watch them make it). Definitely come a bit before your movie starts to have some time to hang at the bar and listen to the live music.
It’s an experiment for sure. Seats dirty and uncomfortable. Food was disgusting and either overcooked or undercooked based on 4 of us ordering and expensive. Not worth a penny. We had to go eat dinner after since we couldn’t eat most of our food. Mocktails and latte good. Some seats have a table to put your food on others don’t. Wouldn’t go back or take visitors.
Went here twice to watch The Northman and had a great experience both times. Went Saturday afternoon and the place was very quiet, Sunday evening it was pretty packed. You can drink beer while watching a movie, it's great! Some of the seats are double seats like a couch. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Very convenient location on Burnside. Will visit again.
My partner and I come here almost every weekend for a movie. It's one of our favorite places. This evening Andrew (staff) helped me grab tickets and snacks right before the movie started. I was a bit flustered, but he was chill and streamlined the whole process. Give him a raise! Also, please bring back nutritional yeast for popcorn topping!!!
My first time at this beautiful theatre! Loved it, we had a delicious lunch. I really enjoyed the small plate offerings, I had the white bean crostini and the meatballs, delicious! Servers we're friendly and very accommodating to a member of our group with dietary restrictions. The theater itself was cozy and comfortable, lots of leg room too!
Suprisingly comfortable - smaller theatre with no bad seats. Great sound. For being "downtown-pearl" I thought their price points (on ticket and concessions alike) were acceptable. The atmosphere, people and movie/concession offerings all worked together to slightly elevate the "dinner and a movie" outing. I will definitely come again.
As we were leaving the theater we were met with workers on strike, which makes me worried about how this company is treating their workers. Additionally, the pizza was bad- way too much sauce slathered on a crunchy flatbread with very few other toppings, and missing the pesto that was in the description. The seats are comfy though!
We like this place because it is really convenient for us and you can also have drinks and/or a snacks while watching a movie on comfortable seats. There is a bar and tables so having drinks/dining is also possible before a movie too. The theaters are a bit more intimate so we have not been much in covid, but hope to go more soon.
Be sure to check and then check again to ensure you know what order the seats are laid out in. Otherwise you’ll be in the front row when you think you’re at the back (my friend booked the tickets, so lots of user error in that). Drinks are a tad expensive, but it’s downtown so I guess that’s just normal. The popcorn is very tasty.
Great theater in downtown Portland. Each theater is smaller than a standard one, but in a nice and cozy way. Chairs are comfortable and you can have food and drinks delivered to you before the movie starts. I would suggest showing up early or buying tickets in advance since new movies can sell out quickly.
Perfectly encapsulates Portland - kind of run down, seen better days, and with no awareness of it or of how much nicer similar places elsewhere are. The food was terrible - overcooked burgers with limp, mushy, over seasoned, sweet potato wedges(?). Cocktails were pretty good. Wouldn’t recommend it.
For the price of the movie ticket. The rooms needs a major upgrade. The screen was not the greatest and the speaker echoed. My TV at home has better speaker sound than this. It smells like cigs and the room does not have good ventilation. I was expecting to have reclining chairs for the price too.
They have live music in the bar area and they’re mixed drinks are some of the best in Portland. Very friendly staff and very comfortable seating. The food selection is incredible for the movie theater and you can have your food while watching a movie. The movie selection of course, is incredible.
Has gone a bit downhill. The food hasn’t been great since we started going here 4 years ago but it’s gotten worse, the popcorn is dried out and gross. Beyond that the manager/bartender is rude and always looks miserable. Great location and super reasonably priced. Rest of the staff is friendly.
We were let down when we found out that it’s not actually a ‘living room theatre’ but just a smaller more intimate theatre. Other than that, we enjoyed ourselves. The cocktails were really delicious and the popcorn was a tasty, you get a lot for the cost! Staff were so friendly and attentive!
Best dinner / drinks movie theater in Portland. Reasonable prices, great selections, small intimate screens with reserved seating. No kids kicking the back of your seat. Talking and cellphone use is verboten. Good projection and sound. See a good movie you will not find anywhere else in town.
Cute, good prices but we ended up in the back row. This wouldn't have been an issue had the chairs been regular chairs but they were these tiny chairs with no neck support. I'm a very small woman and even I found them uncomfortable. My friend who is a bit taller found them nearly unbearable.
We love the Living Room theater and we had good food and drinks there the other night. I know they've been having staffing issues but we went on a Thursday and everyone was super nice and attentive as always. We'll keep supporting them and will hope they get fully back up and running soon.
Another great dine-in theater. Love that they play more limited run and independent movies. Full bar to order from and the food is really good. Yummy dessert is also available. Even if a movie isn't what you're looking for, the bar and seating area is quite nice and there's live music.
Love this theater. Decent prices. Clean, spacious, and cozy seating in the theaters. Food is kind of on the spendier side but there is so much more than popcorn & candy! Accessible seating. Front door unfortunately doesnt have a door button but the doors are pretty light luckily.
This is hands down one of my favorite theaters in Portland! The seats are super comfy, and on Mondays and Tuesdays movies are only $5! Great wine selection, and though I've never eaten here, the food always looks tasty. Love this place! People thought your review was: Funny 1
We were in Theater 5. It was stinky, there was a tub of dirty dishes on the stairs that several peeps stumbled over, and the seats / drink holders were pretty dirty. I loved the movie (Joyland) and the comfy, reclining seats -- but didn't enjoy the funkiness of the space.
Cheap Monday and Tuesday night movies for comfy seating. Food is OK but that's not the main draw for this comfy place. Comfort alone is worth the price of admission. Did I mention it's comfy? Also love their vaccine protocols to ensure a safe viewing experience!
Food was fine, seats okay. Problem is the sound was very quiet, I could hear the ice in people's glasses like 4 rows up front me. People's whispering, pop corn eating and the like all sounded like it was right next to me. Sound was horrible. I won't go back.
Cheap movies, Student discounts, and a well priced happy hour menu make this a great spot to spend a Friday night. Living room theaters has a wonderful atmosphere (better than most big theaters) especially for the price. Enjoy this gem if you get a chance!
I love this theater! I’ve only been once but I was blown away. Reasonably priced, comfy large seats, and you can order drinks at the bar and take them into the movie with you! They are reasonably priced as well so that was so cool! Will definitely be back!
Used to be one of our favorites. Sadly lately they don’t care to have staff, food, drinks, good service whatsoever. They’re always running out of something. If you have a growing business you also need to have more staff and assure consistency on service.
Came here specifically to watch the Barbie movie and have a drink … but due to staffing issues they closed the bar. How many staff do you need to pour a beer? Seems kinda silly. I should have gone to the Laurelhurst. They wouldn’t disappoint me like this.
As a movie buff, I love the dinner and movie experience. The food was alright. I enjoyed their popcorn more than my eggplant parm sandwich. The drinks were great. The staff could be more patient with those who have allergies. I adored the theatre.
This place is is desperate need of a major remodel! I love the concept however, the theater is dire need of an update. From the outside things look pretty but as soon as you walk into the theater it feels like it hasn't been updated since the 90s
Great for date night. Seats are comfy, food and drinks are reasonably priced and picture and sound quality is great. Buy your tickets online. The chicken sandwich and burger are great. The fries/JoJo are seasoned well. Candy is someone expensive.
Always a great place for a movie. Food and drinks area available in the bar & you can get both delivered to your seat in the theater too. The theaters are small & intimate and you select your seats when you buy your tickets. Easy access to
Went to an early showing. There were signs on the door stating that they were understaffed, and not serving food or alcohol. Couple that with the uncomfortable seats, and I'm not sure why I'm paying a premium to see a movie at this theater
What a great idea! Combining a place to relax and watch a movie with your friends while having dinner and drinks on comfy chairs in a small setting is perfect. Now, they need to get a dog to lock up the popcorn that gets spilled.
Seems like the bartender was on something, Popcorn so cold, foood is not good, don’t eat there. Drinks could be better Very dirty The manager is very rude, when I asked for my food, they took back, And saw it, Popcorn area dirty,
I really appreciated the leadership at Living Room Theaters that checks for vaccine cards at the door. No proof of vaccination, then no entry. It makes me feel better about pulling my mask down to drink a beer and eat popcorn.
Great service, great employees. Food was good, and great audio. Only thing I noticed wrong was how loud the projector was, and when the speakers in the other theater next to us I could feel it in the current theater I was in.
Living Room Theater is a great spot with the latest movies. Concessions are at great prices and a great selection. Location is very convenient and staff are helpful. Highly recommend! Good things are happening in Portland!
Parking nearby is for less than movie length, they don't have flavored popcorn anymore. The kitchen was also not in operation the day we went. Overall a little disappointing from the last time I had been there years ago.
A great old theater that is still going despite new, bigger theaters. They have kept this place clean and watching movies here in a smaller environment with a beer in your hand makes the experience a lot more personal.
Small theater with good sounds and screens. Seats aren't recliners but they're comfy and offer lots of room, not crowded feeling at all even in a sold out show. Food can be pricey, but I think that's to be expected.
I recently stopped in to have a drink with my friends. To show them the bathroom. I love the glass wall between the bathrooms sinks. I love odd ball things like this. Plus, it's the best place to see indie movies.
Great unique spot. Went here with my 12 yr old son so minors are allowed. Serve beer and cocktails. Proper food and service. Staff is cool and professional. Love the comfy theater seats and vibe. Worth the price.
A perfect small theater experience with great food and drinks available for during the shows. Uses the active shutter 3d glasses when needed for a high fidelity experience. The seating is very comfortable.
we really like this place. friendly staff, good food and drinks, easy access by streetcar, and great selection of films and special features, like free movie Sundays and sometimes live music in the bar.
Very cool vibe! Incredibly clean! The woman at the ticket counter was really welcoming. Really rare these days. I will definitely be coming back and recommend anybody visiting Portland to give it a try!
The Living Room Theater is an exquisite place to see a film. The theaters are comfortable, with great projectors and sound. The theaters are small, so I recommend buying tickets online, in advance.
Theaters are small though that's part of the draw, the seats are a little tired but comfortable but probably in need of some updating. Decent food for a movie theater and not too terribly priced.
Great lunch and treatment from the staff. The movie setting was comfy, enjoyed the entire experience. I’ve been before and am going back soon to see Dream Scenario. Thank you for the experience!
Went with a group of friends. Friendly staff. Comfortable seating. A little pricey but it’s a boutique cinema so it’s expected. I wish they had more advertisements around for events and such.
Love this theater and so happy the full bar and kitchen is back. Beware, they installed a new row of seats at the very front. Only tolerable because they are extra fancy and recline way back.
This is my favorite theater. The atmosphere, the food, the drinks (when they are adequately staffed) are all great. The pricing is the same as anywhere and the seats are so! comfortable.
Living Room Theater is fun!! I’ve seen many movies here. They have good chicken , salads, popcorn, chocolate truffles and all the best indie films ... they deliver to your movie seat.
It was OK. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because my popcorn was really stale, and I had to eat my wrap on my lap in the theater. Other than that the staff was really cool!!
Movie selection rates 5 stars, but the popcorn was tasteless, and not having the concession available apparently because of kitchen stuff shortage was a definite disappointment.
Swank. There was a piano player and singer when I was exciting. Very nice screen, comfortable seats. Sound system for 1917 was perfect. Wasn't over powering like a mega Theater.
Cool spot to watch movies in theaters at the moment and other great films that aren't available at traditional theaters. Staff is always friendly and they have food/drinks.
