The driest, frankly worst "pork ribs" I've ever eaten anywhere- definitely NOT smoked in any way. Pre-cooked/boiled or something other than smoked, white, bland dry pork meat you had to forcibly saw off the bones with no flavour or colour to the meat. Just bland white. I strongly feel these alleged pork ribs were bulk pre-cooked at another time and mildly reheated for serving. Which brings me to the next sad point. A strange red sauce which was not pre-warmed but stone cold out of a fridge had been poured over the top of the tepidly warm ribs, and this cold sauce then took the remaining heat out of them and the entire $50 "rack" (they were sawn apart into single ribs and meat between each rib was visibly missing during the sawing process in the kitchen- to be used in another dish to save a buck perhaps?) was very poor presentation, tough and cold. Strange sesame seeds were sprinkled over each solitary rib with bare amounts of this weird red cold sauce dripped over things, which I can only describe as basic tomato sauce mixed with vinegar to thin it out. Definitely the furthest thing from "sticky BBQ pork ribs" I've ever encountered. The wait staff were frankly rude. I asked if there was beer on tap, and they had no taps in the entire restaurant. The waiter then smugly remarked to me "Don't worry, I know what you'd like mate... You look like an "expresso" martini man!” when I questioned where the tap beer was. It was rude and insulting. We then waited about 45 or 50 minutes for a waiter to come near us again and tried to get their attention but they ignored us the entire time, preferencing the larger tables where they could keep upselling expensive cocktails. During our exasperating wait to hail staff, we heard about 3 glasses being dropped in the kitchen. I ordered a beer from the drinks menu which was marked as "USA Imported" and I felt this justified the 13 dollar pricetag because it would be a real authentic American beer. The waiter bought the can put and left me to pour it. Unfortunately for them, I read the can and it was made in Australia on the side, in a carlton united brewery. So another fake "American" smoke and mirrors act on the menu that was overpriced and misrepresented. The rude, aloof staff attitudes combined with the fake "American" on-trend wannabe vibe and associated high prices, the worst pork ribs I've eaten anywhere in the world (And I've travelled to Alabama, Louisiana and NYC among other US areas and tasted the real deal) leads me to believe this is some sort of fake Wrest Point casino concoction which was built to cash in on a food trend and not a single person in that kitchen had ever travelled outside Tasmania or maybe Australia to experience or research what properly made, smoked ribs were supposed to taste like. They are not "tapas" and cut into little finger food. They do not get cold tomato sauce poured on them with sesame seeds. You don't misrepresent Australian canned CUB beer as "American imported". I was not the only one trying to complain either. There were about 3 other couples standing in line trying to complain about their meals and the wait staff were ignoring all of us near the entrance. I'd think this was like the McDonald's of bad smokehouse chain restaurants based on the preheated food and indifferent staff. I can't see how it will survive for very long if this is what it is. Flashy decor, expensive prices and the worst restaurant service and food I've actually ever experienced in Hobart or anywhere in the world. This place takes the dubious honour of number 1 on my list of worst dining experiences in the entirety of my adult life. It beats out some other very, very average places to claim that title. It was a shameful demonstration of everything you don't do in hospitality. Especially right now when mortgage rates and living costs are rocketing upwards, people need to feel like what they buy or pay to eat is worth their money and they need to be happy to spend premium money on a premium meal or you won't survive. As another reviewer here said, go back to the drawing board.

Where do I begin… This was not a great experience at all. Our servers name was Erica, we dined on June 17/23 and her name badge said she was a supervisor. She did not tell us any of the specials, what the catch of the day was, what the cut of the day was...we had to ask for both. When she took our order and the food came, the servers had no idea who ordered what food, and plates were getting passed around everywhere which made for a very uncomfortable experience when you had seven people dining. The food was all right, nothing amazing to write home about for the price, but it wasn't bad either. We did ask for water to be refilled on three separate occasions and not once were we offered a refill on our drinks of wine or beer we had to ask for those ourselves as well. At the end of the night when we went to pay the bill, there was a couple in front of us who were trying to settle up an issue which meant we had to wait almost 10 minutes. By the time they were done, it was our turn. We realized that our bill had been accidentally placed on their room tab. So the restaurant was having to difficulty re-creating our bill so that we could pay it . We kept asking if they could only just put through a charge on the terminal for $672 which was the cost of our bill and sort the rest out later and we were told that was not possible. We were asked to follow the supervisor to the front lobby so they could help resolve it to which I refused. We ended up waiting close to half an hour for them to figure out a way for us to pay our bill. For almost $700 dinner and then to feel like I was begging to give them my money, left a very bad taste in our mouths. But the worst part, Erica, the supervisor, repeatedly through an employee under the bus. I will not say this employee's name because it was incredibly unprofessional of Erica to do so. But she wanted to make sure that we were all aware that it was a new, in training employee that caused this issue. At the end I looked at her and told her that what she was doing, was mean unfair, and not professional. An issue like this is a team issue and no need to call out any specific person. We were not even offered a drink or coffee while we waited to give them our money. Nor was anything removed from our bill. When I asked for a copy of my receipt, I was told they were trying to figure out how to print a copy to which I finally just took the receipt that they were holding and left the restaurant with that. So long story short over priced inadequate service and would not recommend. Erica should NOT Be a supervisor.

IF YOU LOVE TO TAKE YOUR TIME ENJOYING WINE AND FOOD. DO NOT COME HERE!! My friends, my partner and I (table of 4) came in for a farewell dinner on the 24th of June. Everything was fine until Andrew (apparently the supervisor) came to our table to take order. We ordered broccolini and octopus for entree and 3 steaks plus 1 lamb ribs for mains. My partner usually likes a good red wine to enjoy with his steak so I asked Andrew if I could try tasting 2 different types of Pinot Noir for my partner and he said that they don't do it there and that he could give me recommendations. At this stage I was shocked, I had to ask again that they wouldn't let me try a wine before I buy a glass. He stated yes and he could give me recommendations as if I knew nothing about wine. So I said I know what I like but it was fine and my partner didn't want to have wine anymore. At this stage, I was feeling quite uncomfortable but decided to give them a chance. Entrees came out and as we were about have the second bite of our entree, the waitress came out and asked if we were ready for mains. I had to confirm again about her question as we just started our entree. She explained that steak would take time to cook (to give you a bit context, we ordered 2 rare steaks and 1 medium rare steak not 3 well done) so I stated that they could start preparing at that point. 10 minutes later when we were half way through our entree they brough the mains out. I was speechless because i hadn't even finished my wine for entree yet. Let alone, the waitress literally dropped my main on the edge of the table with 1/3 of the plate sticking out of the table without even being bothered to fix it, she walked off. When we got to our mains, the mains were cold. 4 sauces came out with the 3 steaks 2 of them were eatable. But we understand sauces are subjectives however the ones that we could eat were standard. Nothing was special through out the whole dinner. The lamb was way too fatty for the price we paid and for how they indentify themselves as a restaurant. The atmosphere looked alright. I could see they tried to present themselves as a fine dining restaurant but they proved otherwise. For how the space looks, it has so much potential but the service definitely is a disgrace to fine dining.

Booked a table for 4 for a celebration. Was a little concerned as seen some recent reviews where table service was mentioned as being poor. However we needn't have worried as Angus our waiter was well on top of things with a confidence building lively but polite demeanour. We had a few important questions on the menu, which was quite varied, and answered with a professional assurity coming from a good amount of experience at this restaurant. The new restaurant (opened late 2022)is superbly fitted out and has the benefit of being well placed with views to the river and harbour - but not all seating areas can see the view without standing or turning around. We decided to share some starters between the 4 of us, Grilled Jumbo Prawns we got 4 prawns ( min order is 2) but beware they are $12 each! Plus beef Koftas and dip with a small qtr chapatti each but they were all very delicious and well presented. For mains we chose 180g Cape Grim Eye Fillet or a Porterhouse steak from the grill, as the norm for many up market restaurants now you have to pay extra for the side dishes - fries, broccolini and coleslaw were our choices and to be fair there was sufficient for the 4 of us to share. The food was on the higher side of excellent and the plating and the cutlery wre of a higher class. My eye fillet steak did that lovely thing where it almost - almost melted in the mouth and the flavours were fantastic. The Porterhouse steaks were equally flavoursome and nearly as tender but not a bad mark against them. The table chose to share a bottle of SA cabernet Sauvignon at $67 which was one of the cheaper prices wines but was enjoyed by all of us. We finished off with either a deconstructed Huon apple crumble complete with a smoky style dry ice show or a substantial Creme caramel and all were thoroughly enjoyed as a fitting end to the meal. Please note this is a higher end restaurant and the location, fittings and food quality are represented in the prices. As a summary:- Location: Excellent, with free parking Ambience: Superb, clean and inviting Table Service: Brilliant thanks to Angus. Food Quality: Five stars all through meal. Cost: Expensive but still worth it.

We had an anniversary dinner and unfortunately we're disappointed. The upgrades made to the casino are well appointed and have definitely created a great feel to the casino itself and Longhorn, however the food and service didn't match up to the revamp. The entrees were good, wings and the king prawns, nice spices and well cooked however, that's where it ended. The mains of lamb ribs and baked trevalla were not nice. The ribs were very chewy, they had a nice spice rub however the fat was overpowering with very very little meat on the ribs, not enjoyable. The blue eye was not nice at all, unfortunately one of the worst we've eaten. The sides of broccolini were reasonable along with the fries, but they are not meant to be the stars of the dinner. The service was ok, the initial introduction was good but not overly attentive as the night progressed. It was not a quiet night by any means but also was not a really busy one either. The wait times on food was ok, drinks not so great. When we gave feedback at the end to the head waiter, he acknowledged out concerns and feedback, even staying that the lamb ribs were hit and miss quiet often before we said anything. We were by no means after anything to be removed from our bill, but he seemed not overly interested in our issues with the experience. Overall, disappointed. We won't return. Our bill was $220 for 2 people which isn't overly expensive for a special occasion but we want to enjoy it and expected more.

Beef brisket: big slices meat on plate. A small container sauce/relish. Needed a gravy jui or sauce. Nothing else. Expensive. Sides: chips ok not large cut but served hot. Oysters burnt bacon. But nice big oysters on dirty charcoal pieces. Entre brisket better than the main. But topped with dried up inedible onion was like string. Then lots of hot horseradish spooned all over the meat..looked like goats cheese. Burnt my throat..needs to be served in a seperate bowl. Big $99 steak served with nothing! Had to ask for sauces. Had 2 herbed butter pats that isn't real butter its a fatty margarine yuk! The pinkeye potatoe salad looks like vomit! Really wierd. Rawish egg on top?? Lettuce had blue cheese, it was so dry couldn't bite through it. Broccolini dosed up with something spicy? Cheese cake very nice but the pumpkin icecream would be far more acceptable if it was vanilla! No complimentary bread. Waiter: should us us if we want drinks first. Then go on and on about the menu. Decor is fantastic. Seats comfy. Clean. Great spot on the water. Good parking. Needs menu improvements: i suggest Any steak served with a choice of sauce plus fries or potato mash. Extra Charge for salad choices: rocket pear walnut, proper potato salad, proper buttered pinkeyes, Coleslaw, cauliflower au gratin, steamed broccoli or broccolini.

Tried to take my partner for a nice birthday dinner, along with our 8 year old son and left thoroughly disappointed. I had an entree of brisket burnt ends, which was the worst brisket I've ever had. My partner ordered 4 jumbo prawns, was charged $48 and they were average at best. My son didn't mind the buffalo wings. For mains we both ordered the eye fillet, medium rare. My son ordered Mac and cheese which came out after the adult mains, in a piping hot mini skillet. He had to wait 10 minutes before he could eat. When he finally could, he had two small mouthfuls and said it was disgusting. Both of the eye fillets were extremely dry and chewy. As they didn't come with sides, we had ordered a side of broccolini and a side of swede. Swede was ok, broccolini just tasted burnt. We were intending on getting deserts but decided not to bother at this point. We ordered 4 cocktails during our meal, which were actually very nice. When paying the $343 bill, I told them how terrible the food was and how incredibly disappointed we were with the experience. They spoke to the chef and decided to deduct the cost of the broccolini as if that was adequate compensation. We would have been better off going to a takeaway store and saving $300. Not happy and will be letting all my friends and family know not to bother.

Once upon a time, in a faraway kingdom, there was a small village known for its delicious smoked foods. The village was called Longhorn and it was located in the heart of the kingdom. The people of Longhorn were known for their love of smoked meat, and they would often gather around the village's large stone fireplace to enjoy a hearty meal. One day, a group of travelers decided to visit Longhorn and try its famous smoked foods. They arrived at the village and found a brand new restaurant that had just opened. Excited to try the village's famous cuisine, they entered the restaurant and ordered the brisket and pickles. However, to their disappointment, the brisket was dry and the pork ribs were even worse. The travelers were disappointed, but they decided to try the chips, which were at least good. After their meal, the travelers decided to leave Longhorn and not return. They were disappointed by the poor quality of the food and decided to make a trip to the nearby village of Moonah to try the everyday's bbq and Texas pantry instead. But they soon learned that Garth, one of the travelers, did not like either of those places, so they had to find a different option. In the end, the travelers left Longhorn empty-handed and disappointed, and the villagers of Longhorn were left to ponder why their once-proud cuisine had failed to satisfy the travelers.

We walked in with high expectations. The decor was beautiful, the ambience was great. The music could be modified to match the theme of country Texas. We were greeted warmly but we were left waiting to be seated with some confusion at the register . The wait staff were well mannered and attentive. We ordered the entrees (corn ribs, smoked brisket ends, devilled eggs). These were ok,, that's all. Nothing special. Overpriced for 2 eggs ($14). For mains we ordered full rack of the pork ribs and a half serve of the chicken. We requested all items be brought out at the same time. We were given the entrees and chicken (mains) , but no ribs. When we asked for the ribs we were given 6 ribs (a half serve) and told the next 6 were going to be a few minutes. When they finally arrived, they were not hot and very poor examples of ribs. A lot of apologies from the wait staff for this.for dessert we ordered the Makers Mark creme caramel, charred pineapple sorbet and bacon crisp. We slso got the apple tart.. he tart was burnt on the extremities making it look unappetising. The creme caramel was oversized and too much sauce. It also had chunks of pineapple. This did taste burnt as well and not that tasty. Our experience was very underwhelming for a new restaurant that was opened the night before. Not sure I will be back

Overall, a disappointing experience. The evening started off really well. We were greeted by a friendly staff member who showed us to our table and explained to us how the menu worked. We went the $75 per person option which included corn bread, devilish eggs, corn on the cob, char-grilled octopus, wings, brisket, pork spare ribs, mac and cheese and some deconstructed apple pie for dessert. This is a good selection of food if you’re not sure what to choose or want to try a bit of everything - the portion sizes are generous and on the whole the food was tasty, but that’s where it ended. Service was terribly slow and got progressively worse as the night wore on. Our drinks which we ordered at the beginning only got delivered to our table after the second course arrived, we waited forty minutes for our main meals and when they finally arrived the staff member couldn’t put them down because our entrees hasn’t been cleared. We weren’t the only table waiting - huge restaurant and just not enough staff to go around. We waited over 40 minutes for our dessert (apple pie but resembled nothing like it) which wasn’t a great way to finish the evening. If you’re going to charge premium prices then the service needs to be up to scratch. Won’t be returning unfortunately.

Atmosphere was calm like sitting beside a warm fire with whiskey. Food offered all the smokiness you could hope for, with enticing texture. Scotch Fillet was cooked as requested, and the meat was succulent. Sauces were excellent, with the espresso and cumin being a standout. "Smoked Old Fashioned" cocktail was presented with smokey fashion. I won't spoil it, but I suggest it if you like finer bourbons with a citrus twist. Highlight cocktail was the "Rum Runner" - sweet, and intoxicating. Dessert was the apple and Sultana pie. Light texture and appropriately sweet following all the smoked foods. Staff were friendly, even charismatic. Wrong food and drink was brought to our table twice, but never stood in the way of a good time and the staff were receptive to amendments from us. Highly recommend it. All you could hope for if seeking smoked meats and quality drink.

Firstly, I’d like to say that I’m a professional eater and I have been eating my entire life. The prices after far over the top for what you get, the entree portions are tiny and expensive. And this is coming from a guy that will spend $300+ on a good meal. Second is the temperature, it’s a common thing reading these reviews. Also never bring a steak sauce out that’s cold. A cold bbq relish to go with my lukewarm steak wasn’t the best. This venue has potential to turn all these bad reviews around by just marking a few small changes such as heat lamps when holding food and maybe realise that $28 for 2 prawns is a joke. The meal was nice though but please take this all onboard and maybe you will be able to achesvebmore than a 3,2 star average

It all looked good on paper but sadly wasn't delivered. I ordered an entree that failed to be delivered before my main. Waitress said it was on the house but I still had to fix my bill up at the end. I ordered the "wedge" salad and you literally get a wedge of iceberg lettuce topped with bacon and what was supposed to be a blue cheese dressing but tasted more like a watered down mayonnaise. Because it's a wedge, and the edge of an iceberg salad is rounded, it was incredibly difficult to eat as it just rocked every time you tried to cut it. The best part if the meal was the scotch fillet ($52). It was grissly at one end and perhaps cooked slightly over what I ordered but it was tender and the smokiness really came through. Just not the perfection I was expecting from an upmarket steakhouse.

Awful food and awful experience. Table of 6 did the feed me Menu, boring food with cheap tasting sauces and overcooked brisket. Don’t get me started on the rotten stewed apple ‘dessert’ The service was terrible, being served by multiple people that could literally care less - food was coming out before we were able to finish our previous course, food was literally thrown on the table stacking on top of our dirty plates instead of clearing our table??? Multiple times! We sat there and ate as the 5 tables next to us sat there empty covered in dirty dishes for atleast 30 mins completely ruined the atmosphere. Stood up for 10 mins waiting for someone to approach us so I could get the bill…. Nothing. Walked over to the register to pay and wasn’t even asked how anything was. Absolutely not returning or recommending

Fantastic restaurant, our highlight of Hobart! The steaks and gnocchi were delicious mains. The sides of mac n cheese, pickles and broccolini were also smash hits. Waited an hour for Entree- corn bread & corn ribs: which were delicious. Steaks were nice (apparently): our son had chicken which was still bleeding on the bone. Manager explained that it was smoked- which allegedly means blood is ok: I don't think so: not in the chicken breast My brisket was cut thinly, very salty & dry- couldn't eat it. Sides were disappointing. Expected a Casino to have THE best food in Hobart- would have got better meals from Hog's Breath! Refused to pay for the raw chicken & my brisket. The Manager gave us a round of drinks "on the house": due to waiting so long for Entree: & then also took the Entrees off our bill. Very disappointed A great reminder that the food in Northern NSW (where we live) is exceptional. Had higher expectations from a Casino in Tasmania!

After reading other reviews, I am wondering if I went to the same place. Food average to ok. (We had brisket, pork ribs and chicken at the table.) Chicken very dry, pineapple and creme caramel didn't seem to work. Service very poor. Shown to our seats, then someone returned with a drinks menu... next thing we knew we were being asked for our food order. We asked for some drinks first....15-20 mim later they finally arrived.. menu was never explained, so it got very confusing when the group were ordering and the sides situation. Rush..rush..rush was the feeling we got. Had to chase up additional water top ups, and more wine was not offered until we asked. Maybe they wanted us out and into the gaming rooms asap. Here i was thinking that the casino service would be top notch... like the old days. Disappointed.

There were 5 of us out for a pre- Christmas dinner, and the entreés were brilliant, super flavourful and interesting. l had the BBQ Glacéd Pork Ribs, full rack for $56 and a couple of sides for the main, and there it went downhill. The ribs I had to send back once for being cold and dry, and the second lot was hot but so bland in flavour. Had not been basted at all during the cooking process and the so called glaze was nonexistent. Clearly the work experience kid was in charge of ribs yesterday. Very disappointed. The black garlic pink eye potato’s were also bland and no where close to anything I would expect from a smokehouse. The service itself was impeccable and the staff super friendly and knowledgeable

Nice vibe with interesting seating Friendly staff although they really push the drinks menu. Slow to order food and food comes out slow. We even got a dish that we didn't order but was still charged even though no-one ate at. Steaks are good, 16hr slow cooked brisket way over salted and almost impossible to eat, also dry.. Chicken was okay to Sides no better potato salad crunchy and under cooked, fennel was interesting and chips okay. Avg $90+ pp with a drink. For the price it's over rated and not what I would expect from a steak house. I've had better at local pubs for half the amount. Wouldn't recommend

We arrived and ordered 2 drinks. Received 1 wrong drink, not the end of the world though. Ordered 2 platters for main, 1 for me and 1 for my wife. Entree arrived. Corn on the cob was good. Corn bread was dry and tasteless, the wing were ok, but not great. The mains were a huge disappointment. The brisket was stone cold, the pulled pork was way overdone and combined with the overpowering sauce looked like cat vomit. Everything was overpowered by the taste of smoke. I know it’s a smokehouse, but there was no other flavour. Staff were nice enough, and the room itself was really nice. Start again with a new menu and new chefs.

The octopus just tasted burnt, it was meant to have a char grill flavour, but it didn't. The pork ribs themselves, had no flavour. Boiled meat with a boring sauce on top. The best part of the meal was the chips. The staff didn't have a care factor. One staff member tried to tell me how my experience was, I had to stop him from talking so I could explain what I thought about the meal. To the point that I had to remind him that we play his wages, before he would shut up. Another waitress just didn't care, she asked how our meal was. I had to tell her 3 times it was awful, before it sunk in. She still didn't care and just cleared our table. So 150.00 dollars later, we walked out still very hungry and very disappointed.

Ate here for a change. I am a massive steak fan so I thought what better place to go. Well here we go... The waiters were pushy always over our shoulders, I ordered the aged steak at $75 Which came out as tough as a boot definatly not aged. Asked for a dark rum brought me out a Bundy and coke. Barman argued the point then rolled his eyes as he took it away. Our steaks were mixed up and sauces were on all different plates, they didn't know what was going on. Trust me you will Get a better steak at hogsbreath. Bloody dissapointed. Do not recommend

A fairly constrained menu allows the restaurant to focus on its hero dishes. Everything we had was nice, with some dishes perhaps didn't quite deliver on the full "smokehouse" promise. For example, the burnt ends, while delicious, didn't have the fall-apart texture or telltale smoke ring you might expect from low and slow smoking. Overall, ordering five of the starter and side dishes to share ended up being a satisfying and surprisingly inexpensive dinner for the two of us.

Smoked to perfection offerings are in fact, not smoked to perfection. You need to go back to the drawing board with your recipes. Not as good as it should be! $40 for two wafer thin slices of Brisket. Pork ribs were an absolute disappointment and Lamb ribs were just fat on a thin bone. Very lazy work from the chefs to pre cook ribs and then warm them up and slap sauce on them to call it ‘ready’ good BBQ needs love! Last night got me asking… where is the love? Had to beg for water for the table only to get a glass thy wasn’t filled again. Burnt ends and corn bread were

Very disappointing, our order was "lost" due to a computer issue but it was seemingly more to do with the lack of communication between the staff as we were asked the same thing by multiple staff members. When we finally got our food it was cold and some over salted (not acceptable at $75pp). Unfortunately took a bit of back and forth before they were able to come to a suitable resolution for the evening. Would not recommend this restaurant as there are better priced options with much better service around Hobart.

Having traveled around Hobart for two weeks and enjoying some wonderful food and finishing at the Longhorn Smoke house was absolutely disappointing to say the least, Paying $40 for two wafer thin slices of Brisket that were over salted and around 50% fat was disgraceful. The $56 full Pork rib rack was also an absolute disappointment with very little meat, some of our ribs had no meat at all. Will not ever return and will not recommend this restaurant to anyone, quite the opposite, don't waste your money or time

I think they should steal the 'finger licking good' slogan - everything was absolutely delicious and pleasant to eat! $79 feed me menu actually lives up to the "feed me" expectation - so MUCH food and each dish was unique and flavourful. Ladies pls be warned you might have a hard time sucking your belly towards the end of the meal. Top picks of the night were the octopus and charred corn - never a fan of corn but this blew my mind, respect to the highly skilled chefs and appreciate their efforts on the menu. Staff were friendly and welcoming throughout the night, will be back soon!

  • Damian Tunks

Everything including the food service and venue was really good. The staff were really friendly with a relaxed manner and explained the menu extremely well. The food was prepared exceptionally well and we're very generous serves. I am a large eater and couldn't get through my meal which is extremely rare. The venue is very well laid out with nice fittings, comfortable furniture and good acoustics. I recommend the place and will definitely return. Not sure why there's bad reviews on this place as I thought it was run really well

Had a great dinner here for four people. Service was pretty spot on, food was delicious and hot. Great variety on the menu using local ingredients. I had brisket burnt ends and smoked chicken half. Would go again. Pricing is moderate to expensive but worth it.

Reasonably nice atmosphere but nothing super special. Service friendly. Sat down to look at menu and was gobsmacked by the exorbitant pricing, we’ve had many nice steaks at much nicer venues in Hobart and never paid that price anywhere. Otherwise the menu choices were very limited. We certainly happy to pay a price for a good meal but not willing to feel ripped off. No steak is worth $98. We’ve eaten at the revolving restaurant for less than this. We voted with our feet and walked out. Very disappointing.

Way too expensive for what you get. I had pork ribs. The meat was excellent but the sauce was sickly sweet with a vinegary aftertaste. The worst I’ve ever had. The potato salad was horrible. Beautiful looking venue but absolutely nothing comes with the mains everything is extra except for the four sauces that are bland or taste bad. Would be better with dianne or mild mustard. Too many frills and not enough basic value and flavour. Oysters 29 bucks for 6. Won’t be back. Sorry.

Dined here last night and honestly I have eaten in many places all over the world from street food to fine dining and Longhorn Smokehouse you honestly have the worst food I have ever eaten anywhere . We were recommended the banquet my guess is because we were a large group and you were busy . Definitely not worth the money and the food was disgusting . The service was as poor as the food . I would not recommend dining here.

We stayed at Wrest Point Hobart and came across this steakhouse. We ordered the grilled shrimp, lamb chops, mac and cheese and some fries. We requested to be seated by the large windows and the view was really nice. Overall, for the price point we find the food was okay but the service was friendly. If you are planning to dine here, definitely request to have the window seats to see the waterfront view.

Very disappointing restaurant. I had the worst pork ribs in my life tough like an old leather boot! If you like vinegar this is the place to come. Basically all the sauce and different dishes the only flavour you can recognise is the vinger ! Then you come to the dessert, I thought finally a decent dish but after a few mouthfuls there was hard plastic pieces in it. The worst restaurant hands down I'd rather have a sausage sizzle down at the local bunnings than eat this rubbish! Run, Run, Run!!!!

  • Sudeep Parial

Over priced and average food. The chicken was absolutely overcooked and very dry (it’s not too hard to cook chicken pretty sure); The pork ribs were ok. The cocktails were out of balance. The service was fairly average. At the payment counter when asked about our experience with food, the staff was condescending and said, “we should probably not order chicken next time at a smokehouse”.Great attitude guys!

Over attentive staff that could not be understood that wanted to rush and continually interrupted our evening. Main courses did not arrive together and 6 of the 8 were cold! Advised the waiter and the Maître de at the end of the evening. Nothing was done and not even an apology offered. For our group of 6 an expensive mistake going there. Never again!

Eye fillet Steak so overcooked and dry. Ribs were tough, full of gristle and dry. Other than the initial delivery of drinks before ordering our meal, and serving our food we never saw any wait staff until the end of the meal. Tried to discuss the issue with our food and the waiter muttered something inaudible, picked up a couple of plates, walked off and never returned. Appalling meal and service and it still cost $127

The staff were so lovely once we finally got served. We stood and waited for (literally) 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us with an apology and advising that someone will be with us shortly. (We then received 3 apologies from different staff in fairly quick succession before eventually being served). The wait time for food to be served was really good and the quality of the meal was beautiful, however I do not believe it was remotely close to good value for money.

  • Tony Lathouras

We saw very mixed reviews so we kept an open mind. It was an awesome experience, The service was second to none and every bite of our food was fantastic. The cornbread was awesome that went well with the spicy chicken wings. The corn was super along with the brisket, ribs, octopus broccoli and mac and cheese. Really upmarket wholesome foods in a great environment. Highly recommend

The customer service was poor. We were seated at a table on the end near where all the staff walk through with new guests and my partners back of the chair he was sitting in was knocked every time. The fries as the sides we ordered were crispy and just like fried fat! The Pork Ribs and lamb ribs were fatty and we didn’t enjoy them at all. Overall not the best dining experience.

Had a great evening at Longhorn. All of the food was delicious (the corn ribs were a highlight!) and the service was great. I had a very poor experience at Longhorns. Clearly the venue isn’t being managed appropriately. I don’t like leaving bad reviews - I believe they can publicly damage a venue’s reputation without giving them a right of response or ability to rectify the issue directly with a customer. That said, I emailed Longhorns several weeks ago in regards to my experience and have not received a response.

Had a night out with my wife and thought we would try. Shared two starters and then pork ribs and brisket. Food was average to be fair, best part was the vegetable sides. Service was rushed and no wine order taken before food came out. Felt very rushed ( in and out in under an hour and a half). Not what you expect for what was charged.
