I visited the M&S store today in Chorlton to return a christmas present that was unsuitable. The manager that dealt with my issue had no idea what customer service constituted and provided a most disappointing service. He was unfriendly and rather rude. The item I was returning had an online value of £30 however the manager would only offer me £17? Which I found totally ilogical. As the item was a gift I expected the refund in the form of a credit note and for it to be honoured at £30. As I am not one to make a scene or debate the matter (Question Time with D.D) I left the store with the £17 credit note. I then contacted the customer service team who gladly resolved the issue and refunded the additional £13.They demonstrated a high regard for customer service confirming that the Chorlton store had a very poor leadership team that required comprehensive training on customer service, as they were a disappointment to the M&S establishment

It's amazing walking into this place as their air conditioning throughout the store is perfect. It's cold but not too cold (to give some context, I'm writing this during a heatwave). They have a really good selection of food and wine and is always a good place to go for a nice meal when you're feeling lazy. They don't have much in terms of raw materials as it's only a small store but still manages to have a lot on offer. One problem they do have, which in fairness is somewhat out of their control, is getting into and out of the car park can be difficult as it if shared with a KFC and is adjacent to a main road.

Never seen such disaffected, morose unhelpful M&S staff in my life. Left me waiting at the counter until I waved someone over, hardly any staff to be seen and the one who served me negatively managed my expectations about my click & collect order. Dont think they understand their IT systems because 4 days later I'm still getting reminders to collect the top I picked up last week. Two not one star because it has a good range of food, but dont expect a normal M&S experience here.

I tried to return a item I purchased online only to be humiliated by the staff/manager. I have requested a reciept to prove that I have in fact returned the item (proofing precautions) but was told in a rude way that we don't do that anymore. 8 days later I get half the refund and the other half was to be sent by cheque which could take 10 to 14 days plus 2-3 days for the bank to process the it. To sum it up, avoid this store or you know what, just avoid this entire franchise.

Carpark spaces unnecessarily tight. You run a risk of having your nice car scratched. Park at McDonald's and walk over, but be careful you don't get a parking charge.. M&S standards maintained regarding offerings, some good bargains of an evening. Brilliant that's its local and convenient. Wish they would put a conservatory on the side of the coffee shop so that people would have somewhere to sit and enjoy excellent value pastries and splendid coffee.

Very disappointed, went to get served at the till. When I went to the till, a sales assistant told me that I had to use the self service till, didn't even apologise. This was at 9.15 in the morning, the shop was well staffed. Clearly they could not be bothered, too busy doing admin behind the till. We wonder why the high street is dying!

The store is very convenient for me but I really dislike the 'self service only' policy the store mostly employs. I found one of the assistant rude and disrespectful enough for me to report the incident to the store manager. I left the store feeling quite unhappy and will avoid returning unless absolutely necessary.

Once again this morning I was refused service at the till ?? This happens all the time ' Told to use the self service which I dislike using ' What happened to good old Customer Service ? ' When the staff are stocking shelves or Standing around Chatting ' NEVER AGAIN FOR THIS CUSTOMER !!!

Not much selection compared to similar sized M&S's. 1/4 store taken up by coffee and flowers. Could just use that for more selection of food. Almost entirely self checkout but marks and Spencer's self checkouts don't let you use a bag and complain when one is used.

Only self service checkouts. If I wanted to learn how to scan and weigh shopping I'd get a job in a supermarket. Staff very pleasant so I felt bad about walking out without buying anything but I would have felt worse about abandoning my principles.

Nice store with take away coffee. However only one serviced till and I was told I could not use this even though there were 3 staff members standing alongside it. I was directed to self service and offered assistance. How is this customer choice???

Bakery is good and has a good choice of wine and ready meals etc. Good for quick stops and treats but not for a weekly shop. Car park is often busy but staff are always very helpful and the shop is always spotless.

Quite a few vegetarian choices including sweets. Fresh packaged fruit salads in fridge, and vegetarian pasta salads. Good sandwich choice. Handy to pop in to buy your lunch.

Can be pretty expensive for run of the mill groceries but if you're feeling a bit lazy their ready meals are excellent. Just wish their policy on halal was a bit clearer

The manager was very helpful and went out of his way to find something I wanted off the delivery carts. He always welcomes everyone who walks into the shop with a smile

Love the food. Hate this shop. Nobody to serve. Not so simple self serve tills. Staff busy nobody to help. Not enough parking. Bad experience in here twice now.

Has the usual M+S offerings, relatively small but well stocked. Finding parking outside can be difficult as it's in a busy spot

It's the same as every other m&s food hall really. Better quality food than most supermarkets but slightly more expensive too.

Visited this shop whilst doing a long walk. Bought very welcome tomato soup and sourdough bread to eat once home. Delicious.

Popped in to grab a sandwich for lunch and a cup of tea. The gentleman who made the tea was a lovely man and cheered my day.

Lovely laid out store, it's very welcoming with a good variety of products. The staff were all really friendly and helpful

A member of staff offered to help me put my shopping through the self serve as I was carrying a toddler. Great service!

Obviously you pay for what you get, hence the prices are on the high but a good customer experience.
