I am used to getting deep-tissue massages regularly since I have chronic neck pain. It usually relieves my pain for about a month. I recently moved to the area, so this was my first time at Massage Envy... I booked my appointment online through their site. It asked me questions to help "personalize" my massage experience. I thought that was unique and it left me hopeful... I got to the location about 10 minutes ahead of time for my "90 minute" session. The front-desk people were nice and I was handed a tablet that asked basically the same questions I entered online and was sent to this "relaxation room". Seemed inefficient to have to answer the same questions again, but I guess it ate some of my session time so maybe that's why they do it? I can only guess. Anyway, I entered that I wanted upper body work only, with a heavy focus on my neck...again. There wasn't any sort of deep-tissue option or essential oil add ons for stress relief, nothing like that, which is unfortunate. I feel as if they could make more money and improve the customer experience. I ended up waiting in the room until about 10 minutes after my massage appointment was scheduled. I was then taken back by the therapist to the room. He proceeded to ask me more questions about what I wanted out of the massage. Did he even look at the responses I gave...twice? That took an additional 5 minutes. Then he told me to undress to my level of comfort, etc. That took 10 more minutes until he came back. So, now my massage starts... 25 minutes later. I just assumed that the 10 minutes of waiting would be considered. Nope. This was all counted toward my session. 10 minutes of prep, I can see. 10 minutes of prep +15 minutes of waiting and redundancy, that's kind of ridiculous. Then came the disappointing part... The massage was the lightest massage I have ever had. There was no deep tissue or concentration on my neck. It was all over the place. He even tried to go toward my lower body, which I specifically did not add on the form...twice. I figured he was just warming up and that the actual, deeper tissue massage would be happening soon. However, it never did. Needless to say, I left and still had a stiff neck and didn't feel relaxed. Just annoyed at the entire event and how I had wasted an hour and a half of my time and money. On the bright side, I got some promotion for being a new client. Unfortunately, I would happily paid full price for a better experience :( All in all, I think the whole experience could be more streamlined to save customer time. Use an oil diffuser in the relaxation room to help people relax even more. Try some new music. The songs change too often and it is immersion breaking. Add the option for a deep tissue massage. Also, don't count waiting room time as a part of the session.

I loved massage envy for one reason only that was for the masseuse named Rachel at this location. But I recently fell on hard times, became pregnant and had to cancel my membership. Apart from hard time I hated that I couldn’t have Rachel anymore because she doesn’t specialize in prenatal massages. Also it was impossible to get a regular appointment now having to get a prenatal massage appointment without having to wait weeks to a month. So I had to drive 20 minutes farther to a different location to have them done. For that reason I decided to cancel my membership. I called and the person who handle my cancellation gave me info regarding my credits that you use for the massages & facials, ect. He told me that I wouldn’t lose them until 90 days after I canceled which would be until April. I remember that because my due date is 2 weeks after that date. I was very happy and went ahead and canceled, thinking I had that time to get in my last massages and or facials before I was due. Well I recently Called to make an appointment and the customer rep tells me that “o you credits expired today.” This was after I asked her to tell me the last day I had to use them. It was weird I let her know what the rep told me and my mother, (my mother also canceled her membership at the same time.) She informed me that she would speak to the location where we signed up to let them know what happened and to see if they could extend it for the other 30 days that I was told by the person who canceled my membership. She came back pretty quick and apologized saying the manager said no she wasn’t going to extending anything. I told her so I’m losing my $175 because someone gave me bad info. All she could said was yes. I was in shock. After signing up and paying for more than a year I lose that money because of the miscommunication a rep gave me to start of with. Apart from having to wait weeks for a massage and rude front desk reps when you tried to make an appointment they would be huffing and puffing or just plain rude and unwilling to help. I’m very disappointed with massage envy.

I did my first visit here tonight.... And it was just breath taking. I believe her name was Marah? Although, I keep calling her Maura (my apologies). Her touch was just perfect and phenomenal. She knew where all the tension was at and it just massaged it all away. Her technique is spectacular and I have never felt so relax and serene from a massage. The first massage I had was at a different location and it was good at the time... But after Marah... Compared my first experience to my experience with her, she was AMAZING!! All the tension in my upper back is gone and just feel a slightly sore (she does in between massages so it has a touch for hard and intense but also relaxation method). The massage didn't hurt, she was persistent with the massage strokes and had a friendly vibe to her. She asked what I wanted to work on and was professional. I normally don't really do reviews or never felt this good after a massage so I have to share it with the world! I'm just so at awe to be honest, the staff was very friendly and it was so easy to talk to them!! Very approachable people ❣️. Another comment on the atmosphere during the massage it wasn't awkward at all. Normally when its quiet it tends to be awkward but this massage i was literally falling asleep that's how relax i was. I never fall asleep during a massage usually i just rest my eyes. But again, I highly recommend this place!!! I think I'm going to be sticking with Marah for the whole membership . She's perfect!

I have had 2 years worth of memberships at this location where they pull $65 from my acct. monthly, which is $780.00 a year. The first year was great. No complaints at all. I am a super busy person like many of us are so if I was not able to go I would give my session to my Husband or my Son. Then they changed ownership last year and that all changed I Just had 8 sessions and they would not let my Husband utilize any of them or my son due to " New Ownership" I was told that the new owner was " by the book" I cancelled my membership in March of 2019 where as the Old membership you would have 6 months to use any sessions that were not used, now it is 60 days!! Folks in todays times and fast paced lives we need companies that will work with us and not just take our money and put us on the back burner. I literally just lost $520.00 GONE!! that is almost my house payment. Do yourselves a favor do not sign up for the membership if you have anything in your life that keeps you busy. Because this company is not willing to work with you at all. The lady did say she would give me an extra month lol wow! thanks. a month to get 8 massages done.. great! I only give it the one star because the front staff are nice. So basically I had 8 massages and only 60 days to use them where as before it was 6 months as the previous year I had my membership.

**Update - after posting this, I was contacted by a representative of this location and was refunded my money. I changed my original post from 1* to 3 since it was a lot of going back and forth but I am appreciative of their actions to resolve this issue. I joined the Membership last year to get massage services to help with my back and neck. I had 2 amazing therapist there but due to my schedule and the therapist leaving this location, I was no longer able to get the services I was needing or preferred (female therapist/firm to deep tissue massage/after 5pm or weekend due to my work schedule). I was patient in trying to go to their Alamo Ranch location, but they also could not meet my needs/preference. I decided to unfortunately cancel so I can go somewhere else, but when I asked for a reimbursement of my money that had been pulled out of my account for a reimbursement, I was told no because I had cancelled. I was also told that I could go to another location to use my credits, but the other locations are on the other side of San Antonio. Be aware before you join their membership to save, they can trap you in and keep your money. They also stated they are short staffed at this location so be careful they can meet your needs before joining their membership.

Booked a massage here for my wife for christmas, 90 minute massage with all the add-ons came out to $160 or something like that. Today my wife texts me that she had to pay for her own massage because they "didnt have a credit card on file." Yeah I had to put a credit card in order to book the massage, im mad at this point. I call and the call is answered by an answering service located in a foreign country, the person helping me is rude, useless and I can barely understand her, If I didnt book online and this is how I had to book they would have never gotten my business in the first place. She tells me that they will not refund my wife and charge me instead even though I had put a credit card on file and this is 100% they're fault, this is ridiculous my wife paying for her own christmas present. I ask to speak to the manager and she tells me that the manager is in a meeting, I ask to speak to just somebody on location and she says they dont transfer to the location. So she says that she can have the manager of the location call me back, yeah im not holding my breath. Of course she didnt call. First and last time massage envy will ever get my business please believe. They cant even handle the most basic of customer service even when they are at fault.

Almost impossible to get a prenatal massage here! My fiancé called weeks back and booked him and I an appointment, of course mine prenatal. Got the text confirming both of our appointments, when we go in today and check in the lady at the front desk looks at me and ask him, “uh is she pregnant? she can’t get a massage” Turns out the person who booked our appointments over the phone was “new” and booked my prenatal massage with a therapist that can’t do prenatal massages! And they had no therapists who can do them available today. Only slot available was almost a week and a half from now, and by then I’m sure my child will be here.Then the front desk receptionist proceeds to tell us that there’s nothing she can do about it and “if it helps, she won’t charge us the cancellation fee”.... well I would hope not! We pay a monthly membership and we are definitely canceling it after today.

I have been a member to this Massage Envy since 2013 and never, I mean ever, had to stop a session. Person doing my massage was continuously talking about my breathing and how I needed to relax. I can’t I relax if all you are doing is lecturing me about how I should be breathing and how my body is not relax. Don’t do deep breaths, excel through your mouth etc. Not only that, he kept touching my armpit to check my breathing and lung which I’ve never had before. Worst experience ever and will never use that person again. I started feeling uncomfortable so I had to stop the session. I came out stressed out and not relax. Not only can’t I not find openings but to have this kind of experience is unacceptable. Do better Massage Envy

Honestly I’ve been with massage envy for a long time and I never had an issue till recently. I updated my card on membership like usual tried to make a payment but was told it failed so I waited and still nothing. I kept getting phone calls telling me I had to update to my card and wasn’t charged for three months! Then up out of the blue was charged for three months ! I don’t even have the money at the moment and how is that even possible if I didn’t update my card or did the reps just lie. Honestly message envy went to trash after Covid. Basically stole 195$ plus my left over services which is another 200$ from me. Thanks.

Kinda frustrated. I went for a facial yesterday and paid for 90 minutes. My appt was at 4. I wasn't called back until 410...facial started at 415ish, facial ended at 517. The facial was lovely, the massage portion was great as well, was frustrated that she didn't even examine my skin or do any extractions because I definitely needed them and I definitely was looking forward to it. My husband is gone for 3 months and I am taking care of my 2 toddlers solo and was really looking forward to this 90 min facial only to have it cut very short. Just disappointed that I wasted my babysitter and money on something not perfect. :/

My husband gave my sister and I gift cards for 1 hr massage and another hr for anything we choose such as facials or ect. But when i booked my appointment over the phone they have a calling center that has no idea what my gift card was about so they only booked us 1hr massage. The massage was like blah, my husband with no experience does a way better job rubbing my feet and back. All he did was use lavender lotion and made my shoulder pop out of place to where my shoulder is in pain now. Never again if your looking for a relaxing cucumber facial treatment look else where cuz this place rushed my hour massage.

What an experience!!!! My wife and I live in Maryland and have a membership with message envy there. We decided while on vacation in Texas to use our credit here. We found this location near the resort we are staying at. They accepted our credit and all we can say is how worth it it was. Jocelyn was my therapist and Megan was my wife's. We both had amazing experiences and left feeling extremely relaxed. It was very comforting to know that we can still receive great service across the country while still using our membership. I got a massage here recently and it was not relaxing at all. The massage therapist kept talking to me/breathing on me (to the point that I could smell his horrible breath), and the room was brightly lit and unkept with torn carpet. The massage therapist made no attempt to keep parts of my body not being massaged covered, so it was pretty uncomfortable and cold in the room. I wish I had gone somewhere else! I absolutely will next time.

The massage people are great and work grate but the way they run there program is all a scam don't let them con you in to a contract for year cause they never really break it down to you once you know it your stuck and they give you the run around and tell you everything is extra and plus they say you can give the credits away that's a lie.. don't let them scam into a contract again it's a scam

They need to do a better job with scheduling. The person on the phone used terms of this week and I come in on this exact week and it's the next week. This isn't the first time this has happened and some of us have very busy work schedules. I spend a lot of money here.. thousands!!! The LEAST they could do is schedule properly with the limited availability they have.

I've been to several Massage Envy spas around San Antonio and in other States as well. I need deep tissue due to sciatica issues. They gave me Dixie for a couple hours. BEST MASSAGE I've ever had in my life!! She's the only therapist who has actually made me ask for lighter pressure, and I'm still in disbelief over that! Definitely recommend her for deep tissue!

So I had a bad experience at a totally different company so it totally set me off from getting another massage ever. But my husband insisted I get one treat myself so I decided come here and I am glad I did. Cynthia is amazing person and great vibes from her helped me calm myself and she is so easy going made my day so special definitely going back.

Unfortunately I was not aware of the cancellation policy and was not able to make my appointment due to my training running long. I called to reschedule and was told I would still get charged the 50% cancellation fee. Lesson learned about Massage Envy.

Been here twice now- once for a massage with Jocelyn, and once for a facial with Valerie. The service was impeccable both times, with very professional yet still warm and friendly staff. Nothing about this place felt cold or transactional, and all of my questions and concerns were addressed with care. Will definitely be back!

Massage was good enough but definitely not great. In their fine print, massages aren't really for the full time you book, they start 10 minutes late for prep. What they don't tell you is that they also end 10 minutes early for cleanup. So I booked a 90 minute massage appointment that was only really a 70 minute massage.

The service is Ok, too expensive for the quality of the otmodphere, technician totally missed some spots identified as areas to pay special attention to. Other less popular spas than Massage Envy, have better looking massage rooms, and better quality of music to relax to.

Buyer BEWARE! Make sure you can commit to a 12 month $65. The Staff is committed to make a sell no matter what. They Will NOT DISCLOSE NO CANCELLATIONS!! They quickly go through and say initial here. Even car dealerships explain what you are committing to. RIDICULOUS!

Awesome experience. Marah was my massage therapist and she did a fantastic job. Not too hard, not too soft deep tissue. She worked out a real tight muscle in my back that was causing me headaches. I highly recommend Marah and Massage Envy at Westover Hills.
