These guys are the best! Having no previous experience in planning a funeral, I didn't know what to expect. They respected and worked within our budget. They provided seamless service and took care of all the small details to make the service a memorable event. Such as coordinating with the American Legion for the 21 gun salute, contacting a caterer, setting up the reception area at the church along with the memorabilia tables. Then making sure nothing was left behind at the end of the day. All these activities allowed us to focus on the people attending the service. Being my dad was Irish, they even included dirt from Ireland with his remains. That was a classy touch! Too bad I don't live in Kansas City, as they would be the ONLY funeral home I would consider in the future.

I was a bit embarrassed by some things, their work is a bit sloppy. They left a family friend in a hall overnight and it wasn't climate controlled. This caused some of the preparation work for her viewing to be disturbed because of heat. A friend of mine said they got her relatives coffin stuck in a door. It's a bit ridiculous. These are loved ones and it feels like basic preparation could prevent some of this.

Don was a tremendous help through the process of planning my Dad's services. He practively provided information, contacted military contacts, coordinated family viewing at the crematory, followed up with us to ensure things were handled as we discussed and was very sympathetic to the every family member that had input into the services. Very pleased with the support Don provided.

I want to recognize John specifically for his amazing service and help. He made the process during this very difficult time for my family, a much easier process. He would call me and keep me updated with everything being done. Never did I feel I had to call to get any information. The service was beautiful and I want to say thank you for everything.

Bob the director was great, there were a few misunderstandings and her dvd was not right.. Also her obituary was wrong in the kc star. We were not told when it would be in the paper. Otherwise everything went well and he was very helpful... not pushy at all. Bob recently fixed all errors and handled the matter very nicely. Highly recommend

I loved wendy’s passion and the way she presented your services. Didn’t try to over sell me on things I didn’t need. Even made a point to reference why I didn’t need something. (An expensive urn). I felt really comfortable and not like I was being sold something but something I really needed for me and my family. Thank you so much!

It's kinda weird but we are repeat customers. From the death of my father in 1968 to last week, we don't even have to of think of where to go. The kindness and respect is what you want in a time of need. Sensitive to the what each family member has left as their wishes, they do their absolute best to fulfill those wishes.

My mother passed away in 3/2000. And my dad in 8/2010. McGilley memorial Chapel provided us with great services. I recommend him highly, I don’t remember who was in charge when my parents passed away. But overall I am pleased with the entire staff. Sincerely, The Rojo family.

Bob Kalkofen was very helpful in leading me through the process of obtaining a direct burial when my husband passed. McGilley Midtown staff took care of many of the details, and we're there to answer any of the many questions I had.
