I wanted to make a formal complaint regarding my last experience with Medivet in November. This was a long time ago but I think it's important to formally share our horrendous experience. I usually go to the branch in Clerkenwell, but as I felt I needed to have my dog checked urgently over a week-end I've been to the Kensington one. I arrived on time for our appointment at 4pm but waited 50min outside in the cold before someone would come to pick my dog up. This can happen, but it added to the whole experience. I've explained to the vet (young white tall male with brown hair) the reason for our visit: our dog had a small lump on a testicle, and I've also notified him he seemed to be inflamed around his nose (in case this could be related or of any importance). The vet left with my dog and came back 10min after and told me: 'I haven't seen anything'. So I had to show him the lump, while we were on the street surrounded by other customers and it was already dark. I've also asked him about the inflammation around the nose and he told me he hadn't checked. The lump was so obvious I could not understand how he could have missed it and he took my dog back in for another 10min. He came back out with my dog 5min after and told me he hadn't seen anything. Then he said if I was worried I could just apply a cream he gave me. I asked him what the cream was for if he hadn't seen anything. He didn't answer and gave me the card machine to pay for the consultation: 95.58 pounds. I was so shocked and in distress that I paid and left. It felt like robbery. On Monday, I called my branch in Clerkewell to tell them the whole story and they told me they had nothing to do with it and if I wanted to complain I had to call this other branch. I asked them for an appointment and they told me they could not see us before Thursday. I called the Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital the same day and went to see them 2 days after. They suspected our dog may have Folliculitis causing the lump and inflammation, and gave us antibiotics and antibacterial shampoo. Our dog was treated in a week. My partner was so angry he left a bad review on Google. And funny enough, I received a call about that comment from someone who claimed to be working at the Kensington branch. My partner wasn't with me the day I went to the Kensington branch, nor did he describe the dog on his review, so it means his description of my horrendous experience was so close to the reality the person could trace this back to me. The person I had over the phone was a male who apologised and told me the vet I saw was there to help on that week-end but wasn't an Kensington employee. He asked me to come back which I refused and explained why. I've asked for a refund instead which he agreed to telling me a receptionist would call me. To this day I'm still waiting for a call back!

I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS PLACE AND ESPECIALLY THE TWO VETS THAT ALMOST CAUSED MY DOG DEAFNESS!!!! TOM ROBERTS / SAUL LEVY Back in May I started to observe that my dog's ear has been bothering him. After I took him to the groomer, the groomer mentioned that he needs a vet check as he most probably has an ear infection (let alone the smell that came from it and the constant itching). I then went to the practice and asked for a full medical check with TOM ROBERTS who told me that there is nothing I should worry about and is just an allergy. The itching and bad smell coming from the ears continued even with the allergy pills that he prescribed to my dog. I brought my dog in again, a month later, to SAUL LEVY, asking him one more time to look into my dog's ears as there wasn't any improvements in his health after the first vet check. Again, similar to Tom, he told me is just an allergy. I brought my dog to another vet, back in Romania for a 3rd check and it did not come as a surprise that he had an acute otitis - I cannot even describe the dirt the vet got out of his ear, let alone mention that he is on a 3 week antibiotics treatment. When calling the clinic to complain about this issue, I had to speak with 3 different reception ladies until I finally got a call from one of the Partners (SAUL LEVY) ... one of them even lied to me saying that the partners are not in the clinic!!!!!!!! When speaking with Saul (who saw my dog the week before) he start telling me that nothing was wrong with my dog however the reality is that neither Tom or him properly checked my dog ears. None of them has took a sample from his ear and check it under the microscope (usual procedure) - this I know because I was in the room! And clearly, judging by the infection that my dog had in his ears eventually, the infection did not appear over night - it has been there ever since May when he first saw Tom! it is absolutely absurd to me that 2 different vets in this practice HAD NO INTEREST IN TREATING MY DOG - what is important to them is getting money and clearly not treating pets as they claim! How a person who goes through VET school for so many years and treats dozens of dogs / week is not able to identify an otitis in a dog which now requires 3 weeks of antibiotics... i doubt that is lack of experience, but rather the laziness and not carrying about the actual animals! I was promised a refund for the USELESS visits at these 2 vets and still nothing!

This place is only interested in making money. My dog ate 1 raisin (if that) and we took him there so they could induce a vomit just in case. We have gone through this before and it's a very easy procedure. They are meant to make them vomit and the dog is ready in 15 minutes, they can then suggest to do a blood test if the dog isn't himself in a few days. (Village Vet Hampstead did this) Medivet Kensington on the other hand: The male vet who treated him first said it's too late to make him vomit and that we should do a blood test so we agreed. After the blood test, he came back saying his colleague read an article recently and that they can still make him vomit so we agreed to that too. Another half hour goes by (they're making us wait outside of course due to covid) He says they are searching through his vomit and my dog should be out in 10 minutes. By this time we waited 1.5 hours I think. We were getting really worried as its a quick process. I knocked and asked if we could please take him back. By this point, this female vet (Ana) comes out with some blood tests saying our dog is in critical condition and uses some medical terms. I tell her I don't know what that means and that our dog was just fine when we dropped him off. She is annoyed that I don't know the medical terms that apparently meant 'kidney failure', shows me the results with values they deem abnormal and says they need to put him on a drip and he needs to stay there for 3 days. I asked if we can see the blood test, she says 'yes but you cant take it'. I tried to take a picture and she was very frustrated. I have a friend who is a vet (across town) so sent the results over to double check. My friend ensured me that the results are fine and perfectly normal let alone critical condition. I then asked Ana if I can take him home and asked what I should be feeding him etc. She was so annoyed that she just sighed and went on to the next patient waiting beside me. The assistants who are actually very sweet then brought Whiskey out. Thankfully, I had my friend who told me everything to watch out for, feed etc. The next day, as I watched my dog play with other dogs at the park, I couldn't believe how unethical they were to suggest he stayed at the clinic for days when he was fine! When I shared my story with other dog owners at the park, I found out many others experienced similar things from MediVet.

DENTAL HYGIENE - TOOTH EXTRACTION £613.41 (See Pictures). Arrived at 8:00am / Pick up at 15:30 Procedure Length Itself: Around 2 hours. Hi, my name is Lola, and I'm a 10 year old mini Dachshund. I had my rear molar tooth extracted, and the bill came to GBP £613.41 in July 2019 . It was an understatement to say my owner was shocked and l had to resuscitate him on the floor from the heart attack..very difficult with short front legs, but I persisted and kept jumping on his chest up & down for a while... when he came to , he had a word with the current principal vet of the business - no issues with the compassion & care for animals; at issue is the affordability & pricing. To no avail and no more clearer on justifying EXORBITANT & DISPROPORTIONATE pricing from the vet who could not clarify the amounts. The cost starts at £275 (gone up by £25 since April when Bisou had her teeth cleaned- see other review) and then they add a separate item for 'Hospitalisation & Nursing' at £72.72, and do a blood check at £98.31. The injection is charged at £28.09. The pain killer and antibiotic pills for 7 days are charged at £16.02 and £19.76. After all of these charges, one must not forget to also include for the actual extraction itself ; perhaps the moment of 30 to 50 seconds it takes to pull out the tooth... is charged at £103.51. BANANAS ! UNREASONABLE PRICING. My owner is fuming and says: "Even the Harley Street dentist doesnt charge £613.41 for a molar extraction" . Bottom line - ASK FOR ALL CHARGES & RATES UPFRONT ! NO PRICING on Medivet website. Ask upfront all costs ££££ ----- DENTAL HYGIENE - TEETH CLEAN £323.31 (See Picture). Hi, my name is Bisou, and I'm a 4 year old mini Dachshund. I had my teeth cleaned at the beginning of the year, and the bill came to GBP £323.31 in April 2019 . It was an understatement to say my owner was shocked and l had to help him pick up his jaw from the floor.. Notice how the cost starts at £225 and then they add a separate item for 'Hospitalisation & Nursing' at £72.72. The injection is charged at £25.59. The question is - what does £225.00 cover & include in the first place ??? UNREASONABLE PRICING. NOT TRANSPARENT. Lesson learned, no more dental cleansing for me from this outfit : - (

Prior to entering the UK, the vet we saw in France to administer the tape worm medicine required by the UK, expressed concerns regarding certain aspects of my dogs health. I visited Medivet out of an abundance of caution and also to seek a second opinion. I explained that we live in New York and what we hoped to accomplish during our visit. We were seen the next day and got the necessary scans done. I greatly appreciate the time the doctor took to address my concerns and explain how to continue to care for her. The following morning at 3 am, we were awaken by the most wretched sound of our dog being unable to breathe properly. I had described this dreadful sound to vets that she has seen in New York and Miami over the last 6 years. However, because I was able to capture it on video this time, I hoped it would make a difference. At 4 am, when it was impossible to sleep, I decided to email Medivet since it's supposed to be open 24hrs. Three minutes later, they responded to my email. To say that I was surprised is an understatement. Over the next hour, I was able to send the video, share my concerns, ask about options and was provided with an appointment for a few hours later. It felt like I discovered that Santa actually exists. During this visit, we saw a different vet. He knew exactly what was wrong with her and treated us both with kindness and compassion. He took the time to answer all of my questions, and I left feeling like I had the tools to care for my girl for another 10 years. My experience left me feeling that I need to visit the UK more often.

The receptionist at Medivet Kensington is one of the rudest people that me and my partner has encountered. Not only was she rude to us, she was also rude to every client that walked in, going as far as making one of the other ladies cry. All because the lady wanted to know if her pet was ok and the receptionist responded "I dont know...I've been busy, they will call you when they're ready". This was just one incident of many. We initially arrived with a scheduled appointment at 9am, that we called in and booked with a Medivet advisor. But when we arrived this receptionist proceeds to tell us our dog wasn't an emergency and we couldn't be seen to. We explained to her that our dog has been bleeding, vomiting and experiencing diarrhea for 4 days straight, which is advised online as an emergency. She then proceeded to state mockingly that "this dog which had a seizure an hour ago is a 'real emergency'" and that because our dog wasn't bleeding outright infront of her, that she doesn't consider our dog an emergency. Luckily the vet nurse came out to see us and after examination, we found out our dog has a serious virus infection in her uterus and potentially needed an emergency surgery. All vets and nurses were extremely helpful and compassionate, unlike this insensitive, incompetent, rude and inconsiderate receptionist. We unfortunately didn't get her name but she had this curly brown hair, thin frame, white lady. Due to her customer service or rather lack of, we will not be going back there ever again. Sincerely,

While my dog was preparing for pregnancy, I visited this center because there was no blood test service available at our local vet, where we usually go. I went specifically because the blood service was important. However, after sending the blood to the lab, there was no contact for a few days. So I called in, and I was informed that it had been omitted. This incident caused us to lose confidence and trust, so we requested a full refund. Tracking the timing of pregnancy preparation by one or two days is crucial, so we were already unhappy with the customer service provided. It took a long time to get a refund (three months due to their mistake in transferring my details to the finance team). When I finally received the refund, the amount was different. I asked why I received a partial refund when I was not informed about it in any way. I was told that the amount was deducted for the consultation fee, but we were never informed that they would deduct the fee without any explanation. So basically they charged us the consultation fee, which we would never have paid if it weren't for the blood test services. It was very difficult to communicate regarding my refund, even though it was their fault for omitting our sample. I recommend avoiding this center. They may be nice in general, but when it comes to addressing issues, their customer service is slow and lacks professionalism.

Having just landed from Monaco, I realised I had left my little boy’s tick and flea treatment back at home. I quickly searched vets near me after having spoken to his vet back home, confirming which treatment to use whilst in the UK I dropped by here only to be welcomed by a cold, unpleasant, super unfriendly both towards my fur baby and myself staff member. She was so unhelpful, refusing to sell me Bravecto without a prescription and appointment (which I buy regularly from any vet in France/Monaco). You’d have thought I was asking for a class A drug for my little fur ball like some kind of irresponsible pet owner I honestly don’t understand why people who hate animals choose to work in this industry, never in my life had I experienced such an awful time at the vets by such a nasty being. She didn’t even try to help, god help anyone who has a pet emergency, I would NEVER set foot in this place again! Shortly after I found another vet nearby who was EXTREMELY helpful and kind, she ordered the product for me to collect on Monday I am still shocked by her behaviour. I don’t know what the going rate here is for an appointment, but what a ripoff and waste of time for an extremely necessary treatment to protect our fur babies. SHOCKED and DISGUSTED!!!

Bruised and permanently deformed cat ear after treatment at Kensington 24h service Our 11 months old bengal kitten with fever was taken to Kensington 24 hours service at one midnight in March. The first vet and nurse were nice, gave her drips and kept her in hospital over night, even taking a few pictures (which showed her ears intact) at 6am the next morning to assure us that she was fine. The second vet, Sammie Nightingale took over at 7am, didn't call us at noon as agreed, and after a few calls finally released our kitten at 4pm, with a one inch diameter bloody bruise at the tip of one of her ears! We called back to ask what happened, she completely denied to have anything to do with it, and just brushed us off. Shocking behaviour, unprofessional care, and hugely hurtful. Now our kitten has a permanent roll over of her ear and we are seeking legal advice on this matter; but any pet owner will understand that no compensation could make the kitten feel better after being injured in the hospital. Avoid Medivet chain which rotates vets at Kensington clinic with no intention to care.

If I could give zero stars I would. We took our dog here for an emergency visit in 2020 for which we paid for. He was supposed to get xrays done but they quoted me way more than other places. I asked the receptions twice, once at the clinic and over the phone when I let her know that we will not continue with their services but will take our dog elsewhere for treatment, if we owed anything further for our visit. She said no twice, once in person and once via telephone only to learn 3 years later through a collection agency that they are charging me for a visit for which no one made an effort nor any attempt to admit they made a mistake and they are charging us for something. One receptionist was very kind and understanding and said someone from management would call me but no one did. Today when I called, the receptionist couldn't wait to get me off the telephone and said someone from management would call me as no one is available. I'm still waiting. Just wow! What a despicable place!

Caution Advised: Check Your Bill Carefully!!! I regret to share a negative experience at Medivet Kensington, where I encountered a significant billing issue. Despite the staff's professionalism during the visit, I was overcharged by over £300 due to a mistake. For over a month now, my attempts to rectify this overcharge were met with silence, which is not only disappointing but also raises questions about their customer service ethics. I am in the process of taking this matter up with the appropriate authorities, as this is not only a breach of customer trust but also seems to be a violation of legal and consumer rights. While I hope my experience is not the norm, I urge potential customers to be vigilant. Triple-check your bills and ensure all charges are justified before making a payment. It's distressing to have to issue such a warning, especially when dealing with pet care, but I believe it's important to share my experience to help others avoid similar situations.

The receptionist working today (8th April around 3pm) was the most unhelpful person I’ve ever come across. He didn’t even look up my pet in the system when I explained my situation, just told me he couldn’t help. I ended up having to phone the Greenwich practice and hand my mobile to him to get him to speak with the vet there. He was so reluctant to find a solution and just repeatedly told me how this wasn’t normal procedure. Another customer was trying to speak to him and he sat at the desk with his eyes closed for a good 30 seconds (apparently sleeping?) before finally opening them and slowly replying. It was a bizarre experience. Thankfully a lovely vet came out to reception and I managed to explain my situation to her and she helped in a matter of minutes. Thank you to her! I feel sorry for the other customers who had to deal with this guy today as well, just such an unpleasant and frustrating person.

My cat was hospitalised 3 times within 2 months due to UTI and had to go through PU surgery during his 3rd hospitalisation. During the 3 times at the hospital, he was never fully treated for the bladder inflammation nor did any investigation of the root cause was taken. He continued to get blocked after the PU surgery and I had to bring him to my local vet a couple of times. He’s also having incontinence and leaking urine all the time. He was put to sleep yesterday as he stopped eating or drinking and his kidney function deteriorated. I am heartbroken. After 13000 vet bills, the practice stills couldn’t do the necessary work, the practice should be ashamed and hold accountable for negligence. I wouldn’t recommend any pet lovers to bring their pet to the practice as everything seems to be in a rush here. Rest in peace my little Leo, until we meet again.

Very bad experience last Saturday with Medivet South Kensington. We booked in advance to wait 45min outside, because our dog has 2 issues, we took the time to explain theses problems (strong nose/skin irritation; and testicule lump). They came back 15 min after with our dog, saying well we didn't saw anything. So we had to show them the issues ourselves, they took back the dog for 5min, and they said about the 2 issues "well we don't know what is it, if it is going worst come back". Results: 95£ for nothing at all, a very long travel and a very long wait, and my dog bleeding from his face 2 days after. Worst vet experience in 6 years. Today I called the Medivet in Clerkenwell, they said they can take my dog in only 2 days.... And my dog his still bleeding! Don't go there.

I have been a client of Kynance Veterinary Practice for the last 15 years. The staff are so friendly and both I and my two dogs used to love visiting the Surgery. The Vets themselves are incredibly knowledgeable and and to be honest feel like family. They have looked after any health issues and given me advice on vaccinations and travel passports. I recently had to put one of my dogs to sleep as he had reached a ripe old age and was struggling. It was a highly emotional moment but I put my faith in Keith Butt and he treated my dog with such gentleness and understanding. Our pets really do take up a part of our own hearts and there are not many places where I have had the consistent, exemplary service than Kynance Veterinary Practice. I shall be a lifelong client.

  • Michael James

As a customer of the late Keith Butt's practice in Kynance Mews, I was more than impressed with the new situation in Gloucester Road where you have already completed some serious treatments of our new dog with impressive results. Since our last visit to the former practice my wife has died and I do not drive a car any more, so unless my daughter is available to drive me + dog to/from Gloucester Rd, I have to use bus and Underground which is not easy, especially in dirty weather. We have therefore explained the position to Medivet in Church Road, Barnes, and referred to them an eye infection case. Barnes vet agreed to accept the case on the understanding that I am still registered at Gloucester Rd. We will have to see how this arrangement can continue.

Excellent service from the vets and reception staff. We initially called on a Saturday for an emergency appointment as our dog was really not well. We had an appointment within two hours and the team were lovely. The vet was not sure about her problem but did a thorough check and asked other vets to ask give their opinions. They did various tests to try and identify what was a red herring issue! We returned a couple of weeks later for injections and wanted to ask a few questions as her issue was reoccurring. We a different vet who was equally excellent and gave amazing advice regarding diet and general healthcare. After this advice, our dog was completely back to normal. Would recommend this practice to anyone!

A wonderful, caring and most importantly AVAILABLE vet practice. My dog has been with another London Medivet practice for years which has sadly been struggling with appointment slots, permanent vets, and more, so for her recent removal of stitches I had to try the South Kensington clinic. Their ability to advise over email and phone is seamless, and their doctors are reassuring, kind and positive in person. Managed to get my chihuahuas stitches out in under 5 minutes apparently without her even wincing, and showed such affection to her. It's very possible that in the future I will choose to make the trip from NW London to this clinic for her future appointments due to the positive experience we've had.

  • Jessica M

For people looking for real honest reviews. This vet it’s a good option if you need an appointment asap due to emergency situations. If you can wait a few hours, I rather recommend booking directly an appointment with Medivet Islington (David is great there). So if you are looking for a non urgent appointment & you are keen on travelling a bit, I recommend 100% the Islington branch. This one has expertise on “saving the day” for vet emergencies, be aware, it’s quite expensive & the waiting area has no beverages / no toilet. It would be awesome to improve that bit as people are waiting there for a long time in a really stressful moment with almost no support to chill a bit other than a chair.

  • Suzanne Millar

The Medivet team at this practice are excellent--My 2 dogs have been patients there for years. My 12 year old ruptured her ACL and couldn't walk on that leg, so they quickly x-rayed her and recommended surgery to repair the ligament. VK did an outstanding job on the surgery and she is 100% better. The surgery as well as the after care was all amazing. I have seen some very unfair bad reviews and these are either because they feel the receptionist was rude or that the charges were too high--so they give 1 star. I think the prices are fair--after all, it is a business and not a charity! I have pet insurance, which pays for most of the costs anyway. I highly recommend Medivet Kensington!

  • Julia Purgal

Our frenchie has been suffering from a spine injury and we was up all night with her as she was vomiting every 10 minutes. We called Medivet Kensington as our usual medivet would not see us and we was able to be seen straight away. The reception staff and Doctor was amazing! Doctor was very informative and put our minds at ease as we was very distressed. Our Frenchie was given a sickness injection and some pain relief and has been thriving since her walking has improved massively and she is acting like herself again just 2 days later! Thank you so much Medivet Kensington your help meant so much to me and my dad and we will definitely be returning again!

  • Vadim Santsevitch

Highly unprofessional and useless vets. They charged me over £2,500 for 2 emergency visits (the second visit was because my cat almost died when they priscribed a wrong medicine to him) but not only they failed to heal the cat but they were not even able to establish his diagnosis. The overall impression is that the only thing they really care about is how to squeeze out of you as much money as posdible. I (not being a vet) had to make a search on Google to identify my cat's disgnosis and arrange an alternative (and successful) accupancture treatment for him. I am currently getting a legal advice with a view of taking them to a court of law.

  • Anna Ridder

Every single person (nurses, doctors, even patients) I’ve met at the Kynance vet clinic is simply extremely friendly! I think the staff really cares about their patients! Yesterday when I came in with Teddy Peter even talked me out of a procedure that would’ve probably been lucrative for the clinic because he thought it was better for Teddy to wait at least a few more months before having it done! I’m so happy we found you! We’ve been to clinics in the US and Austria before since we had to move a lot the last couple of months and I honestly think this is by far the best clinic we’ve been to! Thank you for caring about your patients! :)

  • Sarah Green

I have seen a few different vets here with my Cockapoo. They all clearly love their job and pet clients. They are very approachable and non judgmental about my knowledge/ preferences / questions. My appointment sometimes starts a little late (maybe 10 Mins) but that’s not a problem for me. They have been able to happily advise me when I’ve popped in and I recently had call to use their out of ours service and spoke to a lovely knowledge vet who went through every aspect of my concerns and completely put my mind at ease. My previous vet was the exact opposite so I’m glad to have found this one and would highly recommend.

I took my dog in for semi-routine surgery in which there were a number of options for treatment and outcome. The staff explained all choices to me in full and thorough detail, and I therefore felt incredibly confident and reassured that I had come to the right decision for my dog. The operation went well and his recovery was very quick, so I can only assume they did a fantastic job! Friendly service start to finish, and clearly a practice full of absolute animal lovers, I felt nothing but compassion and empathy from the staff and cannot recommend MediVet Kensington enough to others in the area.

  • Christine EA

From the minute I called for my first visite the receptionist was very kind and understanding of how nervous I would be. I was worried to leave my puppy with the vet without being able to enter the practice due to Covid, Klaudia was very nice and tried to reassure me and booked me a longer apointment with the Vet. Tom was very nice on the day and tried to answer all of my questions. My puppy was very happy to go with him and came back very relaxed and happy. After the Apointment, Klaudia and Tom answered all of my remaining questions online. Highly recommend their very expert soft touch !

  • Lewis Wilkins

I cannot recommend Medivet Kensington enough! From the second I walked through the door, I couldn’t have felt more at ease; an extremely hearty welcome from the friendly receptionist for myself and an extremely nervy dog. Aside from the welcome, the vet I saw understood my dog’s issue in a heartbeat (a minor ear issue for anybody interested) at a fracture of the cost I was thinking. If I could offer any piece of advice to the Medivet Kensington team, it would simply be to keep up the outstanding work. Thanks guys, you’re sailing a tremendous ship.

Best vets I've been to in 12 years of having my doggo. Each person who has attended to Bambi has been amazing. Everyone is patient and truly cares for every pet that comes in. The receptionists are polite and friendly, and they know every pet's name as soon as they walk in, which just shows how much they care for them. Communication is easy and fast, I've had ZERO issues and will continue to come here. If you want a veterinary clinic that you can 100% trust with your beloved animal, this is the practice for you. Thanks all <3

When I brought my dog in for urgent preventative care when he swallowed gum at the park, the vet was lovely. However, when I tried to book an appointment for travel, the receptionist turned me away because I, a lay person, was not confident in stating exactly what the requirements were. The second time I walked in, they turned me away because it was an emergency only day, which is fine I guess, but the third time I went in, I was turned away because there were no appointments available. Massive time waster.

Brought our cat in a few months ago for treatment. Our cat was collected , but had delevoped a problem on his lung and had breathing problems, which he did not have before being brought in. I am convinced he picked up a virus after being kept in at this clinic for his operation, and had to be put down. The whole experience was extremely upsetting, and would avoid this clinic at all costs, and convinced that had we gone to our usual local vet , our cat would still be alive today.

  • Agata Wejchert

We ended up paying 700 pounds to sedate our dog and open her paw wound, when it turned out there was nothing wrong with it. It would have been sufficient to just clean it and give her pain killers and antibiotics. On top of that, my dog came home with the catheter still in her leg cause someone forgot to take it out. Unacceptable. Finally, they charge 5 times more for the meds vs what you can find online and don’t even give you the option of just giving you a prescription.

Very good vets, good communication and the staff genuinely love animals. I have used many of the vets in Chelsea/Kensington area and Medivets Kensington is by far the best. The staff take the time to explain what is going on especially in an emergency and do not seem rushed or flustered when I’ve asked questions. They were extremely kind and compassionate. They also dealt with my pet insurance directly which took a lot of pressure off during a very stressful time.

  • Charlie

Our dog attended and the care wasn't up to standard in my opinion. We weren't allowed to ask questions and I had the door closed in our face. Ana the vet actually said, 'this isn't how it works' when we asked a question. I went to another vet afterwards (Addisons and Holland Park Vet) where they explained the situation, pumped his stomach and let me take him home. All sorted now anyway. Just seemed crazy there was so little communication at this one.

  • Isabel Liberato

From the first time I went there with my very sick cat I was immediately taken care of. The receptionists are very caring and kind people who realized how nervous I was, gave me a friendly support with so much kindness in their eyes! The medical personnel are 5 stars!! They did everything to get my cat ok. They never quit, gave their very best! And they got my cat well! I am very grateful! Thank you with all of my heart. Highly recommend!!

  • Dana Priadkina

It was easy to book an appointment and I like how staff knows their little furry patients by their names It immediately created a very nice and welcoming atmosphere. The first vet check for my puppy was quick and efficient, the vet made sure to check every important detail and provided medical advice on the future health plan for my puppy. Overall, I am very satisfied and my puppy is very pleased with her first visit to the vet!

  • Chloé Fettes

Bought my dog in last week with a fractured leg after he took a tumble in the park - he was seen to very quickly by the most lovely team of vets and nurses who bandaged him up and referred him for surgery so quickly. Dr Roshni look the time to explain all of our options with great care and compassion and made what would have been an unbearably stressful day a lot more manageable. I cannot rate them highly enough - thank you team!

  • Daniel Bundy

My dog gets severe allergies during the allergy season and every year he has to use dug called apoquel. Medivet sells this medication for £93 but if you go online pet drugs online it’s about £34 now I don’t mind to pay for premium extra £5 £10 but £92 it’s absolute rip off. When I went to ask my doctor they told me this is not up to them Medivet keeps their medication prices so high all around in their clinic. Very disappointed….

  • Maz Kell

My boy Hugo (moggy) is in here for treatment at the moment. He only arrived today but was taken in quickly and the vet and receptionist were both so lovely. Nice enviroment, very clean and friendly. Hoping for the best for my little fighter and have every confidence in medivet. Highly reccomended by friends and family. UPDATE. Hugo is home after his stay and wants to say thank you for the exceptional qaulity care he has recieved.

  • Roxie 101

Amazing vet (Miss Schmitt Del Rio), treated my Gerbil for a respiratory infection. Took the time to explain all the dosages. Very gentle and kind. The vet also gave both medications of antibiotics and inflammatory medication there and then. Really great service and shows they genuinely care for the animals. My Gerbil's health is back to normal now, all thanks to the fast responses of this vet: Thanks so much! :)

  • Annabelle Weidenfeld

Peter Arbeid is a wonderful vet whom I have known for many years and in whom I have complete trust for the care of my two pekingese as I have done for their predecessors. I have also had a good experience of the 24 emergency clinic when needed post-operative for Pixie. It would be good if the waiting area could be a little warmer - it is freezing in cold weather - as it is sometimes necessary to wait a while!

  • Marco Toschetti

The service we received was ok, although I felt it was also rushed. The cost being charged though is completely disproportionate for the service provided, and the medicine we were given (Metacam) was 2.5 times the average cost of online retailers, totally unjustifiable. Running a practice charging such costs directly risks pets' lives, as it puts basic healthcare for animals out of reach to many people.

  • Priya Kumar

I have been taking my dog to Kynance for the last four years since they were a small practice at their old premises. I was a bit apprehensive about their move to a big place but I'm very impressed that it continues to be friendly and professional. Having a 24 hour vet in the neighbourhood is so fantastic. My dog was seen quickly when he had a shoulder injury and the follow up was easy too. Impressive!

  • Alessandra Alari

We had 2 emergencies with our cats, and we had to come to Medivet Kensington. We always had an incredible support from the team, who took care of our pets in an incredible way. In particular, last emergency was last night with out female cat Pasqualina. I want to thank you the wonderful doctor that was there for her, and also, for us. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts

  • Caryl Harris

Peter Arbeid. He is a brilliant vet. But above all else the most wonderful caring person about our animals but also our own wellbeing. Please don't ever lose him to another practice. True he did kill my canary on his first day at Kynance Vets but that was over 30 years ago to my reckoning, and canaries are very fragile when they are unwell and he is completely forgiven now. Exceptional service! The team here is caring, and Tom, in particular, is outstanding. He goes above and beyond, taking real care of my Sharpei. Tom’s attention to detail, especially regarding the specific needs of this breed, is remarkable. His consistent care and follow-up calls truly showcase his dedication. Highly recommend this vet for their genuine care and specialized attention.

  • Deborah Butler

I cannot recommend these people enough from the reception staff to the vets. We have consistently had excellent first-class service looking after our animals. From emergency situations to yearly injections the staff have always been there for us going above and beyond when needed. We will always use these lovely people to take care of our fur babies who mean the entire world to us.

  • Katarzyna Piechnik

Fantastic service even under the current COVID-19 rescritions. Kynance team really helped when my new little puppy got very ill during lockdown. I cannot say this about other vets in area who refused to see me because I wasn't registered yet with them!! The lady on reception was extremely helpful with sorting out the insurance stuff for me! Thank you VK and Tom for saving my pup!!

  • Jolly Lovely Lolly Lady

This is posted on 15 October 2022. Amazing support (and rescue) and supremely attentive after-care for our pancreas-inflamed Spanish Water Dog puppy Pickles, just over a week ago. Extremely helpful and informative updates and feedback / follow-up from the vet team led by Polina. Can't recommend this surgery highly enough. Your precious furry friend is in great hands.

  • Daniel French

Brought Lupin my cat in and had such a lovely experience with VK who was super friendly and kept us well informed throughout. We were a little worried about the operation but he put us at ease and made us feel like we were in safe hands. Can't thank him enough for everything he did. I'm sure Lupin is really thankful too. Would highly recommend Medivet Kensington.

  • Jenny Lee

I’m so glad I went to this vet Grace & Stacy were absolutely lovely & supportive to me and my brother as we had to put our beloved Pooch down. They let us be with him afterwards for as long as we wanted to process the loss. Also, when we got our Pooch’s ashes back they gave us a special surprise that we are really grateful for. Would highly recommend this vet.

  • Ben M

The team at Medivet Kensington are the most understanding and animal loving vets I have been to. I have yet to see a dog not want to go in! My dog bounds towards the door and even after a recent painful eye examination was wagging his way out. Trustworthy and pet loving and also incredible knowledgable/professional. I trust them completely.

  • Giuseppe Fazzone

HORRENDOUS SERVICE. I will not be going back there again. Receptionist was lazy and unhelpful. Vet was as moody as they come. When you show up at a vets out of hours (midnight), I don’t expect you to be unhelpful and moody. Don’t be in the job if you’re going to be lazy or can’t be bothered to deal with pets out of hours. DREADFUL.

  • Claire O'Doherty

Team went above and beyond for my pet. Although they were a little overwhelmed the team kept her calm and did the procedure and since she has come home - I was given pain medicine, but she is so comfortable and back to her usual self. The team clearly did a great job. Shout out to her vet, Vishal Corpaul for an incredible job.

  • Rebecca

Thank you to the whole team, particularly Amrita & Vicki, for taking such good care of my (rather spicy) old lady cat, who became extremely unwell whilst I was out of the country. We are both so grateful for the team's commitment, empathy, and quality of care, especially given the challenges of the last 18 months.

  • neda nikbakht

Kynsnce was great Before Medivet took over. Now this is a money focused, expensive veterinary that missed my gorgeous pug’s illness (I took her in over a dozen times), put her through unnecessary procedures costing more than £15,000. It’s too late for my pug, but go elsewhere, spend less & have a healthier pet.

  • J Penney Frohling

What a shame. My beloved vet taken over by Medivet. Reception is rude. Care is impersonal. Have a distinct feeling that they are in it only to stick you with as much cost as they possibly can. Would never recommend Medivet. Love my vet but Medivet is terrible. Go find a small, independent vet. Don't go here.

  • Ann O'Flynn

My first impression of this practice was overall very good, friendly and helpful staff, made time for me with my pet during a busy period and dealt with us quickly and competently. When we had to return out of hours, again a fast and friendly service with compassion and efficiency - even late at nght!

  • Fabi HONORATO007

Is not the same service of Kynance vet anymore . Not happy with service here. The lady at reception didn't tell me about the second double vaccine return...she was arguing with some customer on the phone, I paid for 2 vaccines £150 (for nothing) .My dog needs to get two doses again. Another £150 !

  • Joe S

Everyone at the practice was incredibly caring for our dog. Amrita called us frequently to give us updates, and used her outstanding skills, knowledge, and experience to save our dog. She and the staff took tremendous care of our dog, and we are so thankful for all their work and effort and care.

  • Leena Yahyan

They're so wonderful. Dr. Paulina is so good to my dog, so knowledgeable and she's so gentle and sweet. The girls at the reception are my dog's best friends and I'd especially like to thank Stacey for being so considerate when I was scared for him. Always feel safe when I'm there.

  • Rima Jolivet

The vet was kind, compassionate, very knowledgeable and up to date on the evidence, and he was willing to engage in a shared decision-making process that took into account his expert knowledge as well as my values, preferences, and familiarity with my pet. I am so grateful!

  • denis strauss

I’ve been to this vet a number of times for their emergency services. The vets and staff have been absolutely professional and very kind to both my dog and me as well. I highly recommend this vet and know that your pet will receive very good care in their hands. Thank you.

  • Rachel M

Peter and all of the vets and staff at Medivet Kensington are wonderful and look after my little sausage dog with such care. I highly recommend them to someone who is looking for amazing care. It has been a lot easier making appointments now online as they are quite busy.

  • Toni Russo

Excellent. We needed them out of hours. All vets were kind and very thorough. They also explained everything. Considering it was out of hours, I thought the bill was reasonable. Most of all, they clearly like Oscar and he was very comfortable with them. A very lucky find

  • Helen Ouroussoff

Always feel so relieved at how everyone in the practice loves animals and are so compassionate and understanding. Have been a client for years before they moved to Gloucester road and were on Kynance mews and would highly recommend for any medical pet needs. Thank you!

  • Tünde Losteiner

Our little Fluffy had to visit Medivet Gloucester Rd late at night due to emergency. The vet and the staff were lovely, super professional and kind. They have a calm professional manner that make you feel that your pet is in very safe hands. I can only recommend them!!

  • Debi Ani

We brought our chihuahua in with complex, upsetting presentations as an emergency case on a Sunday. 10 days later he's right as rain. Thank you Jia for your kindness, sensitivity and for getting his treatment spot on. Wonderful to see that little tail wagging again!

  • Maria Rak

Amazing vet, saved my rabbits life who had gut stasis, if it wasn't for the she would have died. The support given was very good in terms of completing home treatment and they are open 24/7. It is very easy to get an appointment especially for an emergency.

  • Sander Koop

We brought our little boy George here after he'd been attacked & bitten by another dog. They took excellent care of him, I believe the night vet even slept with him. Everybody knows him by name, and the treatment has done wonders, no lasting effects at all.

  • Jason Walton

I am very happy with this practice. They have embraced earlier constructive criticism, making improvements where needed. I feel like they take great care of my two aging 13 year old cats, which is top priority for me. Thank you Medivet Kensington!

  • Olivia Lester

Walked in as my dog was having issues and my vet isn't open on the weekends, managed to get an appointment on a Saturday within 20 minutes of walking in which was amazing Vet was really caring with my dog and very helpful with any questions I had

  • Clare d'Adhemar

My cats have been treated by Keith Butt & now by Peter Arbied firstly at Kynance Mews & now at Meditivet for around forty years. I can't praise the unbeatable care they offer to our pets but also their understanding of the needs of their owners

  • Βίβιαν Σωτηρίου

Very friendly people both on the phone and in person. Amazing service and I was so glad that my kitten's first consultation was free. I can't wait to bring her back for her vaccination as I total felt I could trust everyone there. Thank you!

  • Anastasia Baker

This is a fabulous practice. Every single one of the vets are outstanding and helpful and so wonderful with my spaniel. I feel he gets the best care. When I had to put my retriever down last year, they were so compassionate with us both.

  • Cris Grow

Kynance Veterinary was so wonderful. I’m so thrilled to be a new client. They treated my kitten so sweetly and they were very kind to me as well. She’s going to be a healthy cat I hope, and I’m very grateful to have this care available.

  • Thyme Duval-Fryer

They are the best with emergencies and general pet care. They always see my pets as soon as possible, they are thorough with their checks and you can tell your pet will be cared for whilst being with them. Would recommend to anyone!

  • oksana vakoulenko

All I do is paying a huge bills but not getting the answers. Despite requesting and agreeing what needs to be done the tests are never completed requiring to keep coming back. Why not to do everything in one go if that what I asked?

  • Ramute Vaituk

You always a ready to help if my pet not feel well, staff is amazing, pets a happy when they are in clinic, not afraid and stressed, thank you very much for everything, because I know- in your hands my lovely dog is safe ❤️ …

  • no way

Very friendly and understanding staff, even when I was close to tears and frazzled. The doctor was also very friendly and spoke with me even though it turned out I was worrying over nothing. Very good experience over all.

  • Alona Beloussova

My dog was really really ill and had to spend the day with medivet on an IV drip. I was absolutely worried sick and they really understood I was a worried dog mum and answered all my questions. Can’t recommend enough!

  • Scott Jones

Great experience, vets were very clear and thorough about what was wrong and very up front about all my options. They were also very good at handling my dog which can be very jumpy around strangers. Would recommend!

  • Tatiana Lim

Great vet and lovely staff with good quality medical advice but I was overcharged by £700 on medication which I would have paid had I not queried after I sought out additional medical advice for my puppy's surgery.

  • alejaeslon

The vet was very patience and treat my dog gentle with care and took his time with my dog as she is a bit nervous around men and he k new how to handle her. He put me and my dog at ease! So happy with the service.

  • su la

Got an emergency appointment within half an hour, excellent vet and reception staff. They obviously really care for animals. Excellent vet on a another visit too! Also the reception staff have definitely improved.

  • Amela K

I had an unpleasant experience as they mistakenly administered the wrong dosage to my small dog and made several other minor errors. Upon reading the reviews, it appears that such incidents are quite common here.

  • Natasha T

Very good experience! I was able to get a last minute appointment quickly. The staff were very kind, and Dr Jia was fantastic. She explained everything and was very personable. The prices are reasonable as well.

  • Swasti Ghosh

The vet gave us lots of useful advice for our puppy who was very calm in his presence and there was no upselling/overtreating which you find in so many veterinary practices these days.
