1 star is not for the temple, but for the so called priest. We are expecting a baby tomorrow (23/12/2019) and getting admitted in the hospital today at 5 pm. We hurried up to get to the temple for blessing as it said it closed at 12:30pm and reopened at 4:00pm. I know we should act fast and be there on time but as my wife is heavily pregnant, it slows down things. We still got there at 12:28pm. We just wanted to go in and take blessing but he didnt allow us in. We felt very bad for not being able to get in and had to return home with a very heavy heart. How long would it take for us to quickly take the blessing??? Would it cost him anything?? Also to mention that there was no one else except us to visit the temple that time which meant, it wouldnt take much time. God would never do that. God would never send anyone back from the door!!! I can't even say I am never coming back because it's a temple and I have to. Had it been any other place with that priest in, I would recommend not to go.

I am sorry to say but my words are against temple management. Rude, indecent and business minded as if they are managing shop of god and selling service. I went with my wife for worship, they ask to buy ticket first and then only they will allow to worship inside the temple. I returned just because of the behave of temple managers and worshipped in my home. Since then i havent visited this place. I understand temple needs funds to manage which we ourself contribute but the way they were asking was offending and words were rude and a kind of racism with people not from their background. I just asked.. is this new rule to buy ticket for praying god? And they said yes you have to buy in rude manner. Anyway..best of luck to contractors of god!!! I am happy praying outside of temple and i am blessed doesnt matter i pray in temple or in home. God is alys with me and will be alys with us who believes god is everywhere.

Conveniently located in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, this Hindu temple is home of deities: Ganapati, Shiva and Murugan. There are other deities like Brahma, Durga, Navagrahas and Hanuman. Getting there: The temple is about 10 min walk from nearest bus stop. You can drive too and there are about 20 parking spaces within the premises of the temple. Services offered: Temple offers typical Archana, Ashtottara Satanama pooja, Vehicle Pooja, etc. You can pay to offer Deepa (Lamp) to a Deity or the Navagrahas. The offerings and rituals are performed according to Srilankan Tamil methods. The space here is limited and doesn't support larger crowds. There is no rush and the staff are kind.

Nice temple with money minded priest. The temple opens at 5:30 and we went at 5:45pm. They were cleaning the temple at that time. We waited for one hour until they finally finished cleaning and waited further for the Aarti. Till 7pm nothing happened and we had to leave as we travelled a long distance and had to take the public transport back home. Very disappointed and also the priest was very mean and only performs selective Aarti to people who pay for it. This is my second experience in the temple.

Temple is a serene retreat away from traffic. Impeccably maintained, it exudes a palpable spiritual energy. Lord Vinayaka, Lord Shiva, Navagraha deities, and the main deity, Lord Murgan, grace the temple. Their divine presence provides solace and inspiration. Rituals and ceremonies are conducted with sincerity, heightening the spiritual ambiance. This temple is a must-visit destination, offering a tranquil and divinely charged experience. Must visit place highly recommended.

  • Me and Creativity

There is a priest in this temple bit healthy very egotistical and attitude do discrimination between North Indian and south Indian. I asked some questions he didn't reply of them and started his own thing with his own community. He was even good with other nationality but I think he hate north Indian.he is little bit fat and healthy. I don't why all the priests of murugan temple are egotistic.

  • Rose Baby

I went to this temple and I saw the temple secretary at the temple behaved too rude to my friend. There is a good way to tell something but he was too rude.If it continues again I will complain to the management or even the council as well.Teach him to how to talk politely .He is not from the sky . I’m very angry with his attitude.Secretary doesn’t means a country President.

  • Saravanand Naiker

I love this temple too although amidst the factory surroundings. But once you in it, you disconnect and soak in the ambience. Strictly no phone in the temple. The priest is friendly but it’s those people working or volunteering there can be a little rude. There’s always a polite way of saying things. Besides that, I’m here every week

  • amit dalvi

A small yet nice south Indian styled temple. It's really a calm and quite temple. Parking place is small so very limited cars can be parked inside the temple premises. The temple itself is located in a secluded place surrounded by warehouses and garages. But I would like to visit this temple more often just to have the calmness and peace.

  • khagen dorjee

Was there for a thanks giving Puja last Saturday with my partner and the pandit refused to offer tika to us….. at first I thought it was due to COVID restrictions but noticed he was offering to his fellow Indians when I confronted he offered it hesitantly. Never faced such discrimination in my life elsewhere… he is a racist.

  • Spice Mix

it should not be titled as temple because temple is for everyone. its corporate business holders shop who charge for our sentiment, emotion and believes for our religion and god. better name it as God agent house with rate card menu for varieties of facilities to worship.

  • Gowtham sai

Very good maintenance. This temple is constructed by Srilankan's but maintained by Tamil Nadu people. They worhship time to time and evening 7:30 is harathi time. So you can go there by 7:30 and you can sit there till 8:30. Every Friday they offer prasadah after harathi.

  • Parthan SR

Accessible by public transport from Essendon and Altona. Check out the timing before you plan your visit. Archana items can be purchased inside. Abhishekam and pujas happen a bit late. Wonderful temple with almost all sannadhis. Gives the peace of mind you seek.

  • Naroju Naveenkumar

"Hey there! Sunshine Murugan Temple is super cool! The building looks awesome, and the vibes inside are so peaceful. You gotta check out the rituals – they're like a cultural experience. It's like a slice of India right here. Totally worth a visit, trust me!"

  • Sandesh Shetty

The temple is quite big and has decent space inside as well. It is well-maintained and very peaceful onside. Very close to western ring road. Reached in the morning , even though they have a decent amount of car parking spots. It was at 30% capacity.

  • Jayandhi Krishnan

I have visited this temple several times. You get a good vibration when you enter this temple. Very neat and clean. Very well maintained. Almost all deities there like Vishnu, Lakshmi, Lord Shiva, Visalakshi, Ram Sita lakshman of Sri

  • Arunkumar Balakrishnan

Tamil kadavul in Melbourne. Nice temple. Spend some time for peaceful mind. Have only less parking space. For normal days its okay. You could find easy. On special days it will be bit hard. But we can find parking in the street side.

  • manju maikan

The temple is in a good location, however it is difficult for people who travel by bus as the way to the temple from main road doesn't have pedestrian path and this can be a major concern especially when it gets dark in the evening.

  • Abhisek K S

Superb place. Very calm in Weekdays. It's as per our Tamil culture. Vinayakar, Murugar, Valli , deivanai, Sivan and Parvati, Navagram, Kaala bhaviravar there. Really liked this place. Got blessings from Melbourne Murugan

  • Kapisha Chandra Sagaran

I'd give the temple - the temple only a 5star. But the experience on the whole, could improve. I'm not going to list out events but yea let's all be loving and accepting people. Well we're in a temple for God's sake...

  • Jayashree Anandan

Very beautiful Murugan temple. This place gives positive vibes when I enter into the temple. I did new car pooja and archanai recently. Few parking spaces available and can park outside as well.

  • haritha g

I had really bad experience with the priest. He is quite rude and disrespectful. Why do we go to temple? To have peace and positive thoughts. Why should I even let someone ruin my experience.

  • Anusha Pai

The area seems a little secluded and in the middle of warehourses. Advisable to travel with your own vehicle or with a company if traveling by public transport, especially on a weekend.

  • Thulasi Hari

I have been here once for an occasion. It's exactly same as the Murugan temples of Tamil Nadu. All lords are dressed beautifully. It also has guru, Durga, Ganesha etc. Loved it.

  • Muthu Kumar

Temple is really beautiful but 1 star is for the priest. You go to temple to pray god and have some peace but this priest doesn’t allow you to pray at all and talk very rudely.

  • Corinne Pascal

It was beautiful and serene. It's nice to see the integration component of multiculturalism. I enjoyed the drive that's for sure. It was worth it. #temple #multicultural
