I booked a bike fitting for a new bike. This was thorough, and I learned a lot about how I ride as well as what to look for in a new bike. We ordered 3 different bikes that would fit, and that I liked, as they did not know which manufacturer would have a bike first. During the pandemic, bikes are difficult to keep in stock and I wasn’t given any delivery promises, but was told to check in every couple weeks, and they would call me when they had a delivery update. Approximately two months later, they had the first bike ready for me. I loved it and said I didn’t need to wait for the other two. Besides, the manufacturers hadn’t given them an update, so Moment didn’t know the timeline. I bought the Cervelo Caledonia, and gave it a test ride today. Since it had been assembled with my size, fit and specs, I got on it and it felt like it was meant to be mine - it fit naturally. They guys at the shop told me a few things to take care of, told me how the disc brakes work (like being careful when taking the wheel off, not to squeeze the brakes), and Told me about the service and maintenance that comes with the bike. All in all, they took good care of me and my requests, i formed me appropriately given the crazy times of bike manufacturing during the pandemic, and I feel their service was polite, considerate and they took tome to answer all my questions. I could see how busy they were with bike orders and repairs and I didn’t feel rushed at all. I would recommend going in to ask questions, instead of phoning. I was told that they are trying to keep up with phone calls but that there are a lot. This may have changed in the past couple months but I just drove or rode to the store to check on my new bike status. Good place, good customer service.

Just got done with my bike fitting with the wizard, mr. JT! And I am beyond stoked. I have a Cervelo Aspero coming which should be ready in a week or so, but I just NEED to let everyone know how good my experience was with this team. Been coming here for years for my old Paramount. Decided it was time to upgrade and glad I chose Moment. From beginning to end, the staff was quick, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Will helped me over the phone (before making the trip over there) to go over Gravel bike options that fit my frame. Once at the store, I was greeted by a friendly and personable young man. He answered all my questions and made my shopping experience very painless. Although, my bike wasn’t quite ‘ride-ready’, will gave me a loaner in the mean time to take home. Kyleem delivered the bike on the scheduled day and although we ran into a few issues, Kyleem and especially Jake (from the service dept.) came back a few times to make sure my bike was perfect and ready for the road. Overall, the guys went above and beyond my expectations and were incredibly friendly and top-notch. Thank you guys and keep up the good work! You won’t regret your visit. Terrible value for fixing bikes, all of the people near this area have said so. When I was new to mountain biking, I realized that my new bike’s seat post wouldn’t go all the way in. Moment cycles was the nearest bike shop for me, so I went inside and asked them to cut the seat post. Big mistake. They did it good alright, but the price is what made me so mad and just rush out of the store. They charged me $20 bucks for cutting a seat post! Yes, I do understand that I could have gotten a pipe cutter, but I was new into the hobby back then. What’s worse is that they cut the seat post first, without telling me the price. Another resident and mountain biker of this area told me that they wouldn’t tune his bike’s wheel because it was a dirt jumper. There is NO difference between a mountain bike wheel and a dirt jump wheel. No reason to not tune it. When he brought his full suspension mountain bike, they would tune his wheel, but for $200! I cannot and will not trust a shop that overprices their bike services and gives excuses when needing to serve someone.

I crashed my bike hard recently and took it to Moment for repairs. I was worried about how many components would need to be replaced, frankly who isnt worried about cost. I was worried they would try and upsell me a new bike entirely. Jose and Erin told me they would take care of my bike, and boy did they! I am very picky about my setup and Jose corrected all my positioning from the crash so my fit was never lost. Erin made sure that the necessary replacement parts came in quickly. Just stellar sevice and attention to detail! I wouldn't go anywhere else for servicing. I also know from this experience where I am gonna go for my next major purchase too, new set of wheels Erin!

excellent selection of bicycles for both kids and adults. The staff there are very knowledgeable you can tell that they are doing something right because the place is always so dang busy lol. John was particularly helpful in choosing a couple of bikes for my kids ages five and seven who just learned how to ride a bike. It’s important to get your bicycle the right size so go to a place like a Moment where you will have the ability to measure the child’s height and be fit custom to the size of the bicycle that they will be able to enjoy and be safe. The only thing I would add would be if they had more safety pads like elbow pads for face helmets and kneepads for the kids

I just took delivery of a new Cervelo road bike. I shopped around quite a bit and found the staff here to be highly informed and very helpful. I wasn’t sure what I wanted and they were able to guide me into a truly super ride. I had only experienced a hybrid that I had for several years and wanted to change to a road bike. No pressure or up sell tactics at all. I also took advantage of their bike fit program and I am glad I did. I learned a lot and my bike fit and feel is truly comfortable. Just moved to SD area & my Trek needed service due to “injuries” sustained on our westward journey. Our first visit & I was extremely impressed with the time taken to evaluate & explain what would be required. I was provided frequent text messages to keep me updated every step of the way. Because there was a delay with parts, i was “compensated” with extras above & beyond to ensure i was a happy customer In short…they did what they promised, were very helpful & accommodating, friendly and professional! I had a cheap, old kid's bike I wanted to make viable again. Needed some parts and called around. One shop said it was too old for parts but I got the impression they were too high-end to be bothered. Not Moment. They were friendly, listened and were the same when I brought it in. Lots of great high-end gear but they treated my request professionally. They estimated it would cost about $40, and would take a few weeks as they had to order parts. Not only was it put it back together perectly, they charged me only $25 and it was cleaned up, too. Great service.

The folks at Moment Cycles, Quentin in particular, are totally awesome. I had a situation with a cracked bike frame in California, although I was in another country (Canada) and on a separate coast. No matter. Moment Cycle were consummate professionals, helped me communicate with the manufacturer and arranged for a new frame to be shipped to me. I can’t say enough good things about the folks at Moment Cycles. Do yourself a favor….stop by and support this local bike shop. They have 2 locations in San Diego. And they totally rock!

Went in to get my spoke replaced on Saturday, was told it probably won't be ready until Monday! I asked the kid behind the counter I really need it done today because I want to ride tomorrow, his response was "Let me see what I can do". A few hours later I got a text that my wheel was ready. When I went in to pick it up I let them know how grateful I was that they were able to fix it! Finding out that the kid who took my wheel actually fixed it himself! That is great customer service. You guys rock and you made my Day!

Great service as always with this shop, there is a reason I’ve only bought bikes from these guys (since 2015) and no other shop. Shout out to Larry for getting my bike dialed in perfect all within my schedule and budget. I mostly appreciated his communication while working on the bike, gave me updates on parts needed and also used a few pro tricks to help me save money by not having to buy non-essential parts. I have used Moment Bike Shop throughout the years for tune-ups, to buy gear, and and for a bike fit. This time, I needed their help putting together my new bike that arrived direct from the manufacturer. They put together my new (beautiful!) bike and set it up according to my bike for numbers. Then Cole spent time explaining to me the e-shifting (which I’ve never used before) and helped me download the app to use it. Both Cole and Tony were very helpful in getting me on my new bike. After asking around among my cycling friends, all signs pointed to Moment Bicycles for a full "fit analysis". I was hesitant to spend the time and money, but I couldn't be happier with the experience and results. I worked directly with the owner - JT Lyons - who was easy-going, modest and inquisitive. We spent a few hours together and he answered all my questions (a lot of them!), and I was able to get a personalized fit for my new road bike. Highly recommend to cyclists of all skills and ages!

Called on Sunday, and asked if I needed an appointment to get a basic safety check on a new bike, I was told that I could bring it in now to get it serviced. Drove 45 minutes, the guy at the front desk denied the service the moment he knew that I wanted the basic package, without even looking at the bike he told me to leave the bike for at least a week. 1 star for non professanilsm. I made sure to call before doing any action, but I still get lied to.

Amazing store, amazing staff! My experience with moment bicycles is repairs, fittings, and to purchase accessories. Repairs. Meets/exceeds expectation Fittings. I can now ride my tri bike pain free for hours. Also they had technical difficulties with one of there machines but they quickly found a solution and got me out the door on time. During the fitting I learned some tips and tricks with my bike. The whole process was awesome. I will be back!

Great experience! Rented 3 bikes while in town visiting my son. Not only were the bikes great but the staff was even better. We had never been mountain biking before. They explained how the mountain bikes worked and gave tips on when and how to climb/go down mountains. Helmets that fit and gave us multi tool in case we ran into trouble. Plus they recommended spots that were perfect for us. Very thankful for the great customer service!

I purchased a Giant AR2 here while on a two week work visit. The bike was not in stock and took two attempts to make it happen. My main contact was diligent and responsive until we got it right! Went in for a bike fitting for an existing bike I had. Had a great conversation and learning experience with Leon. He dialed me in on the rig and made the adjustments on my bike. Turns out my current bike is a size small, but he made the maximum adjustments to get me where I should be. Looks like I’ll be in the market for a new bike soon and when I’m ready, I’m definitely coming back here since everyone was kind and helpful.

Great service, excellent selection of bikes This place has been a favorite of mine for the past 3 years. When you purchase a bicycle from them, they offer you lifetime regular service! Their prices are very reasonable and the staff is passionate and knowledgeable about bicycles. True to their word, my bike has been to that shop for regular service five times, and they have never charged me for anything. Highly recommended.

Delivering bike for repair, sales guy tells me I will get a msg with repair choices. What I get instead is "From a quick look i can tell we were looking at over $300 to get the bike running in descent condition. If you are willing to put that kind of money into the bike I can get a quote together otherwise I will need the bike picked up." In other words; spend 300 bucks or more with us or else its not worth it to us. Nice!

The bike fit service was comprehensive, and perfect for getting me in the best riding position possible, then matching that to different frame sizes in different bikes that were all in my price range. By the time I chose the bicycle I purchased, I was confident that it was the right one. We discussed numerous details among different bikes, and I never felt rushed. Thank you! Bought our first bike ever here for our 3yr old toddler about a year ago. We have been coming here ever since for questions since neither of us have never owned a bike. We appreciate that the staff takes their time to answer our not so smart questions. Some items are a bit pricey but we are grateful for their outstanding customer service. I had been looking for a mountain bike for a few weeks and was having trouble finding something. Moment bicycles let me come take a look at their inventory and I ended up with a hybrid bike - which was exactly what I needed, unbeknown to my knowledge. Very happy with the info, customer service and fast build of my bike. Bonus points for the limited lifetime warranty that many other store do not provide.

I bought my bike at the Carmel Valley store and did my original fitting with JT. Since then I have come in for a few adjustments with Aaron and with Leon. They always made me feel important and took the time necessary to make sure I was comfortable on the bike. Everyone at the store is friendly, knowledgeable and professional.I highly recommend the store and that you take advantage of the fitting.

They have fixed, small adjustments, on my kids E-Bike brakes for free couple time and that was enough for me to go back there. When I did they were pure professionals. Told me that the bike could take 1 week to fixed it but it took only one day. Just upfront, honest and supper friendly. The place looks like very fancy but the prices are still as old school neighborhood bike shop.

Had a great experience recently purchasing a Niner Jet 9 RDO. Test rode a number of bikes at both the Carmel Valley and Old Town shops. The staff was very helpful and accommodating, and no attempts to up-sell. Requested an upgrade when I made the purchase, and they had the bike ready within an hour. Shout out to Tony in the CV shop who was very helpful! Overall great experience!

This is my second time purchasing an aero road bike from Moment, starting with the super-detailed bike fit from JT and ending with the purchase. I've had my Giant Envie since 2014 and raced many events - super happy with it over the years. Upgrading to electronic shifters and disc brakes, I'm hoping for another 9+ years on my new Cervelo S5. I have had this bike shop assemble two brand new bikes and they did a brilliant job at an incredibly reasonable price. Even more impressive, was they fixed my mother in law’s wheeled walker brakes today for free as a complementary service and it took them an hour. They refused payment! These are people who really care about their customers and I give them the highest kudos.

I’m a pretty hard rider, so I tend to break my bike quite a lot. Every time I come in, the mechanics are able to give me a quick fix (depending on the damage) in less than 15 minutes. When you have to leave your bike, it usually takes less than a week (depending on how busy it is). These super quick times allow you more time on your bike and out on the trails.

Highly recommend this place for a bike fitting! JT, one of the staff, was highly knowledgeable and awesome to work with . I learned so much about my road bike and he provided excellent recommendations to adjust my bike seat, handlebars, etc. for maximum riding comfort and efficiency. Definitely worth the time and cost to get my bike properly fit. Thanks!

What a great crew at Momentum Bicycles. Talon was very helpful and resourceful. Despite the back orders they were experiencing, he let me know about the quickest way to get our bikes, order them online and have them sent to their shop for assembly. We even had them delivered to my girls. Wonderful experience! I highly recommend them.

Great experience purchasing a new bike for my son. They had a good selection of different models and sizes in stock and provided solid advice, guiding us to the right model that will last him a few years. Was in San Diego for a weekend and I had a great experience renting a gravel bike from here to ride 85+ miles of the BWR race route. They got me setup with everything I needed and were super quick and helpful. I forgot to take my pedals off before I left and they even mailed them back to me. Highly recommend this place.

You're going to pay a premium, which I understand because of the shop location, but I'm not paying a premium to get attitude from staff and put me in the horrible mood and ruin my day.

Great place! Highly recommend! I had my bike worked on and they had it there for about a week. After that, they said they needed more time and needed a few weeks. In return, they said they would give a discount for it taking longer. Bike was fixed early and works just as it used to, maybe even better.

Marie just took great care of us in our fit appointment. She got the height of the seat post set, refilled the sealant in the tires and inflated them, pressurized the front and back shocks. She answered all of my questions. On this visit, Cole took great care of us, answering our questions.

I am a very experienced road biker, 60+ years old. Many century rides over the years. I had an issue with a tubeless ready setup, and the Moment folks were very willing to help me out. They are very customer focused, prompt and transparent in dealing with you. Highly recommended!

Moment Bicycles is our go-to repair shop. The folks there are extremely knowledgeable and competent, and they truly are nice people as well. Prices are fair and turnaround times are usually fast. It looks like they have a great selection of mid-tier and higher end bikes as well.
