This location is not what it used to be. We have multiple family members buried at this cemetery which means my family has paid good money here, and it’s disappointing to feel that we can’t even visit without having some type of issues. We’ve heard of multiple people having problems with the security staff, and today is where a line will be drawn. My mother took my two nieces to visit their late father, being that today is his birthday, and also to visit our grandfathers grave. And even after my mother called the owner and got confirmation that they were still open for another 40 minutes, one of the security guards went out of his way to kick them out after only being there for 10 minutes stating they were closed, that he “had to go” and would lock them in if they didn’t leave. Then, while attempting to drive off in his rude manner, he almost hit one of my nieces with his car. Not only was his behavior out of line, but that was just down right disrespectful given the circumstances of my family’s visit. Before leaving, my mother made sure to speak to the owner in front of the security guard that gave them trouble, and this employee lied/denied everything and had a complete change in tone. If your staff does not have the capacity to be humane to those visiting their loved ones, then they should look for another means of employment. Even upon asking to be directed to gravesites, they are lazy and have you figure it out on your own. We will be taking further measures to make sure this problem is resolved, not only for us, but for others visiting this cemetery.

Glad I went to Mount Olive cemetery for my relative's burial. Gio has been amazing from day 1 and has shown a great amount of compassion for the entire family during these tough times. There have been several events that I have been pleasantly surprised about... first event was for "Dia de los Muertos" which had a service at the mausoleum /chapel and was a great event to remember those who have past away. More recently they held a Christmas/Luminary service which was well organized and the Deacon provided a very encouraging message. After both events they have provided snacks and drinks which I was not expecting at all. Now that I have gone to 2 events there I feel like the people who work there are a nice family that truly help people through the hard times.

These people change the rules every five minutes and make up new things, throwaway stuff off of your families grave, because they have new rules without even putting a sign up on the gate for families to know my dad’s been buried here for 10 years and just this year they made up all these new rules and threw away a whole bunch of stuff that I paid a lot of money for without notifying the family then says all we put a sign on the office door like nobody goes to the office we go see our family they should put signs up on the gate to let people know the new rules instead of just throwing everybody stuff in the garbage I have a lot of family here in this place is so disappointing. Just money hungry

I went to go visit a friend yesterday I was not aware that the times were changed. I walked in and stayed a bit with my friend as I proceeded to leave the gate was locked. I knocked on the building door and a lady came out and began questioning me on how I got in when the gate was opened when I walked in. She was giving me attitude the whole time while I was trying to explain I had just gotten out of work and it was a last min stop, the gate was opened because I figured it was still open. This whole situation could’ve been handled differently and that there was no need for an attitude from the staff. May I suggest making a round before you close to avoid situations like this

DISRESPECTFUL LIARS! My father passed away July 5th 2018, and they told me that his headstone would take 3 months to arrive (no problem). We paid IN full so there would hopefully be no problems. Today is March 6th 2019, and still no headstone. This ‘would be acceptable’ if they were to inform me of the delay, but guess what? - MY POOR WIDOW MOTHER HAS CONTACTED THEM (IN PERSON) TWICE, BOTH TIMES THEY SENT HER OFF SAYING ‘SOMEONE WILL CALL YOU BACK ASAP TOMORROW’ Guess what? NO ONE HAS CALLED BACK!!! SO RUDE TO FALSELY PROCLAIM A CALL BACK FOR A WIDOW WITH ABSOLUTELY NO INTENTIONS OF THE SUCH! SO WRONG TO GIVE FALSE ARRIVAL TIMES ON A HEADSTONE!

My grandparents and uncle are buried at Mount Olive Cemetery in Chicago. The lots were purchased in the 1920's so the graves are old. After visiting the graves, I asked the office if they could straighten my uncle's headstone and raise my grandfather's (1951) because it had sunk into the ground. Within a week Vivian Rogers arranged for the repairs and followed up with me when the repair was completed. I am very pleased with the promptness of the cemetery rectifying my request.

Over the years the service has gotten bad. Hours continue to be shorten. At one point they would stay open till 7pm, then 5pm and now 4pm and 3:30pm on a Sunday. How inconsiderate when weekends is usually the days people have the time to go to the cemetery. Today on a Sunday at 2:45pm the gates were already closed. Nobody was able to come in or out. The gatekeeper was very rude. EXTEND YOUR HOURS AGAIN!!! BE COMPASSIONATE AND CONSIDERATE FOR THE REASON WE ARE THERE!

Grateful and Thankful for a wonderful act of kindness and thoughtfulness to pick and choose at no cost from a variety of beautiful flowers with which to create an arrangement of my choice.! In January, 2022. I went to Mount Olive Cemetery in Chicago. I needed the services of a cemetery Agent in order for me to buy a Niche. Misses Gio Caicedo was the Agent that helped me. It was a blessing. She explained very kindly what I had to do. She is very knowlegeble and respectfull. I recommend her to everybody that’s is looking for this excellent service. I'm not sure how anyone could rest here. I recently went to visit a friend of mine and was totally disappointed and upset when I left. No grass on the grave, loud music playing, broken bottles, empty food containers and holes in the roads. I would think there would be some kind of security to prevent this from happening and step up your grounds keeper crew to maintain the Graves and property. Very disappointing!

I have been trying for over a year to get memorial benches and granite walkway repair for over a year and get nothing but run around from the staff and administration after a year and many disregarded e mails um left to call the office of licensing and professional standards to file a formal complaint when you there go past the little chapel and see for yourself the Rasmussen FAMILY MOUSLEUM

My Mom passed away in November 2019, and Gio was and has been amazing from day 1, and shown a great amount of compassion with me and my sisters during these tough times. We came to Mt.Olive when my grandfather passed about 15 years ago. And we reached out again this time with my father's passing. Gio was very thorough and explained everything very diligently. She was kind and compassionate while working with my family. I can say with certainty that my family will continue to come to this cemetery for any future needs.

This place is horrible. You go there to pay respect to family, I guess they have no security there because people can do what ever they want see empty bottle booze all over the place. Makes you wonder if they grounds keepers there broken tree branches down on people grave sites. I would hate to come in and see my family site like that.

I wish I would read all the negative comments and reviews for this place. But in the time my brother passed away we had no mind for something like that and we chose this cementary bc it was closer to home. Which we regret so much! Now we can't even visit my brother's grave as we would like to bc they keep shortening the hours.

Worst experience! My grandfather passed away 04/2021 we ordered 2 flower bases paid everything at the same time order was not placed until September for some reason (assuming Luis forgot to place order) today 03/2022 still no bases and they don’t have any idea how long will they take. Very disappointed.

We buried our dad at Mt Olive and now our mom. Both time we were treated in a very professional and caring manner by Luis. Being our first time handling a death in our immediate family was Very stressful but Luis was very compassionate, professional and caring and we are very appreciative of his help.

They are extremely unreliable and unorganized and take advantage of people experiencing grief. They have no issue taking the money needed and charging monthly but not holding their end of the contract. Almost 3 years later and my loved one still has no marker placed. 10/10 Would NOT recommend!

I live in Florida but have relatives in Mount Olive Cemetery of Chicago. I have asked several times for information and they have always come through with exactly what I wanted. A lady by the name of Vivian Rogers helped me this last time and was super. Keep up the great work Mount Olive.

The staff was very helpful and genuine. We had a burial last week and they made the process as easy as they could. Raul, Luis and the entire staff were friendly and the GM was also empathetic and so helpful. Everything turned out beautiful.

This place does not give considerations to family members. I rather be flushed down the toilet than to be put in this place! Ridiculous!

Soda bottles and cups all over the place. Loud music blaring. Poorly maintained. Roads are terrible with huge holes and loose gravel.

Rogelio is doing a great job keeping up with maintenance . Also, Gio was very helpful assisting with my moms funeral arrangements.
