We bought an $1,100.00 bike for the 9/11 Museum to make deliveries of essential items to the disabled. We attempted to use our tax exempt status. The staff told us “we cannot accept an emailed tax exempt form — we need a physical form.” Moments later a form was produced and they still were not happy. The staff rejected the Museum’s official tax exempt form, accused the FDNY Battalion Chief of fraud (“I’m sorry we cannot accept your form — we’ve had a lot of fraud lately”) despite that he had an official FDNY shield + I.D. Issued from Fire Department Headquarters — and abruptly told him he can take the bike and pay full tax on it or to take his business elsewhere. As a result of a bike shortage and placing the project before personal feelings — our member made the purchase but not before being humiliated by Velo Staff. When the time is right, this chapter will continue as no one should be treated like this. (We told them this and they spun this as a “threat” lol.) The worst part of this Velo Bikes experience is as follows: The young woman who works as a volunteer at the Museum was with the Battalion Chief that day and was so upset at the way the Chief was humiliated, she had a panic/anxiety attack on the corner and collapsed — and an ambulance came and treated her less than 20 yards from Velo, with Velo’s “new bike” sitting on the sidewalk. You literally cannot even script something like this. Adding to this the smug owner “Andrew” states, “we don’t want a relationship with the 9/11 Museum and this isn’t how a 9/11 Museum should act.” Absolutely obnoxious and a wonderful example of the self-grandiose nature of Andrew and his arrogant staff. If you want a new bike and great service — go to Syd’s Bikes in Chelsea. Don’t patronize Velo Bikes who treats members of the FDNY and 9/11 Museum staff like street vagrants. No bike in the world is worth what happened to our young volunteer that day, with her hands curled up, hyperventilating, laying on the sidewalk.

Fine for buying a bike. Had a good experience buying a refurbished hybrid. Picky about which bikes they repair. Be careful. Highly recommend busy bee bike shop instead. Took about 5 trips over 3 months for the owner to call me and say they refuse to service the bike and ask me to come get it. This was after several promises (over months!) that it will be fixed, each one leading to another month delay where they found something else wrong with the bike. They kept encouraging me to just buy a new bike and that mine is trash. But you try finding a 62cm road bike for less than $3000 during a pandemic... Took it to Busy Bee bike shop down the street, and they were able to fix it within a week, and for much cheaper, with much better customer service. Front and rear derailleurs, gear shifters, new handlebar and brake levers. Now it rides excellent, several 30mi+ rides done. And I didn't need to spend thousands on a new bike.. Staff turnover is high, had to re explain the accident I had several times. Very frustrating experience, will never be back. Happy to share email chains documenting everything with anyone interested.. inexcusable double standards for refusing service, and pushing customers to buy brand new bikes.

To be honest, I knew what bike I was more or less getting and Velo was listed as a dealer. I don't have much to say about selection. What I am giving 5-stars for is their service. This was my first time buying a new bike and a little nervous. The staff at both locations are a bunch of bike enthusiasts that were easy to talk to and welcomed my many questions and concerns. They don't get commission so I didn't feel like they were selling me things I didn't need. Shout out to Matt at 2nd ave, when I officially got my new bike, he walked me through what to look out for when riding the first few weeks, and come in after to re-tighten my brakes and gears which loosen at the beginning. #funfacts New bikes get a free fitting, brake and gear adjustments for as long as you own it, and a discount on tune-ups. When I came back for my adjustments, I watched the mechanic work on my bike. Didn't catch his name. He was focused and I got the sense that he prides himself on doing a great job fixing bikes. I felt like I was in good hands. Again, shout out to Matt for giving me a clear sticker to protect my frame against scratches from leaning against poles. Yasss! I'm glad I picked this place to start my biking adventures!

Been here several times over the last couple of months for accessories and work on my TCR Advanced SL 1 after friends on the MoMA cycling team recommended them. The guys at NYC Velo are some of the friendliest and most professional bike mechanics I've met - the exact opposite as the stereotypical cocky bike snobs you hear about at other stores. It took only a couple days to turn around a Deluxe Servicing and just over an hour to put on some Continental tubeless tires. I'd feel comfortable bringing in any kind of bike here for work. I wish I could go inside the shop since it looks like a cool store, but due to covid you have to wait outside and they come out to you - they're more than happy to bring bikes and gear out for you to see. The one day I went by for some service it was drizzling and was surprised that they even put up a tent outside to keep people dry. I can't recommend this shop enough! Looking forward to going inside when covid finally blows over. Cheers guys, keep up the great work.

My wife and I showed up on a Sunday afternoon to demo some touring bikes. Over the course of a couple of hours, the staff set up bikes, sent us out for test rides, answered our questions, and fit the bikes for us. They normally close at 6:00, but stayed to 7:30 so we could leave with our new bikes that day. We purchased a Kona Sutra and a Surly LHT, and they took the time to make sure we were comfortable with the bikes. They even went as far as swapping the handlebars on my wife's bike, and invited her back for further fitting after she rides it a bit. There was a steady stream of customers, from new bike shoppers to people with flats. They professionally multi-tasked the whole afternoon, never losing their focus on their customers. I highly recommend this shop, we traveled in from Rockland County, NY, and it was worth the trip. They had the best selection of touring bikes of any shops in NJ or NY.

If you have any interest in doing the work yourself, you’re better off shopping online. These guys won’t even talk to you about parts unless you bring your bike in and let them do the work. The best part is this - I walked in and spoke to the guy upfront who told me that it was “BS” that vélo orange would sell me a rear rack without mounting hardware because they claimed that all bikes are different so I’d have to buy hardware separately. “I agree” I said. Then he proceeded to tell me I’d have to bring the bike in so they could determine what hardware to install, even though I said I planned on doing the work myself and that I was happy to pick the hardware if they just showed me what was available. Mechanic in the back told me the same thing. These guys are perpetuating the old stereo type of bike shop employees being arrogant and unapproachable while pushing customers to the online market.

I visited NYC Velo when looking to buy a new road/gravel bike in March 2021, and it was the best bike shop experience I have ever had. They had multiple bikes set up for me to test ride, walked me through all of the features and uses, and were very helpful in answering all of my questions. Andrew in particular was really fantastic - I think I learned as much about bikes talking to him for 30 minutes as I have in years. When you buy a bike from NYC Velo they give you lifetime free basic adjustments/tuneup (also at their other locations!) and a free bike fitting - this will save you many hundreds of dollars over the years. I ended up buying a bike elsewhere just because a bike elsewhere was a better fit for my specific needs, but I will make every effort to support this bike shop in the future. If you're looking for a new bike, maintenance, or supplies, check out NYC Velo first.

  • jose richardson

My bike needed maintenance and gave me problem after problem but the crew @ nyc velo took care of the issues. I like that they take care of you no matter what. After getting a few spokes replaced and getting a tune-up my bike was still giving me some trouble with the back wheel and chain but the guys at nyc velo took care of the problem & asked me for feedback. They allowed me to bring my bike in twice After I got it fixed without charge because my bike was giving me problems with the chain and rear wheel. Eventually all the issues were fixed after the second time. My new rim on the rear wheel that I got replaced for the old beat up one is shiny and feels bullet proof! I am now able to ride my bike daily. I am officially hooked on this bike shop. Thank you Nyc velo.

  • Richard Hwang

Very pleasant experience. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon looking to purchase an entry-level single-gear bicycle and was helped by Nathaniel. He patiently listened to what I was looking for in a bike. Had done some research beforehand and was surprised to hear that all the bikes I was interested in were coincidentally available at the shop. Nathaniel took his time to get me fitted and answered all my questions, some of them quite trivial, without judgement. He even recommended a bike that was much cheaper than another because he thought it was of higher quality. All other customers seemed like they were getting excellent customer service. I definitely walked out a happy shopper!

  • Wael Jbara

ok guys if i could give these guys no stars i would . i came to them requesting new front and rear Derailleur lines to be installed on my triathlon bike . after 4 days i get a call back saying job is done come pick up the bike. after 35-40 miles riding the bike i can actually say they bike there was no difference in the shifting . i can also say that i even have proof the the bike cables were not replaced . so all in all they took my 50 dollars and said have a nice day. shame on you guys . i hope everyone reads this because your doing such shoddy work and cutting corners . i am sure they know exactly who i am because its not everyday someone rolls in with a triathlon bike

  • yuri majic

I think my experience says everything about the integrity and professionalism of NYC Velo. I brought in a vintage road bike that I had just purchased at an estate sale for a pre tune up evaluation. I was ready and expecting the $95 dollar standard tune up at the very least, but as soon as the mechanic got it up on the stand he laughingly said that I didn't need anything done to it and that the chain and brake pads looked like they'd hardly been worn. He then spent the next 15 minutes talking to me about what he'd upgrade first but with no pressure or ulterior motive to sell me anything. I'm so glad to have these guys around the corner from me.

  • Sam Schanwald

Relatively positive experience with the staff -- they answered phones promptly and wanted to help -- but unfortunately the shop lacked some basic inventory needed to replace a flat tire on a vintage bike. They were only aware of / able to source one particular brand of tire that's been back-ordered pretty much everywhere, so I had to come back, pick it up, and have it serviced elsewhere by a comparable shop in Brooklyn that had multiple options for the tire I needed. Three stars because I think my having to come back could've been avoided if staff had been more knowledgeable up front about whether they'd be able to service my bike.

  • Lindsey Hunt

Awesome experience! The customer service of these guys is top notch - Zach in particular was awesome. Gracious, generous + super professional team of people. I went there to buy a bike (at the recommendation of a friend who's avid cyclist) - and I was fully impressed by the experience from start to finish. They're not just trying to sell you a bike - they want to make sure it works for you and they'll go above + beyond to attend to all the small details - including a free bike fitting, free small tune-ups and being helpful with different questions that arise after you buy the bike. Would highly recommend!

  • Michael Borbacs

As a former bike mechanic, I'm always skeptical of taking my bike somewhere for repairs. I don't have the necessary equipment in Manhattan to do the job myself, so I went to NYC Velo to have a set of carbon wheels rebuilt. Staff was courteous and professional, but most importantly they do high quality work at a fair price. Prior to the repair, I was replacing broken spokes/nipples on a weekly basis. Since the rebuild, not a single problem. Wheels are rolling fast and true. Great job guys, I appreciate you getting me rolling again instead of spending my time tending to repairs.

  • erick woo

I went to buy a 650$ bike, in the moment of payment, they told me that the bike doesn't come with pedals. I felt something isn't right, but a bought a pair of pedals anyway because without them I can't ride it home. in the next day, I asked a few of my cyclist friends and they say all of their bikes come with pedals! They shop just wanted me to spend more in the store by lying to me, can't believe how dishonest they are after watching of amount of good reviews in Google. Won't visit there again and I advice the same for the person who is reading this. Good luck and stay safe.

  • Ben Hughes

There are certain things that every neighborhood needs -- a good bookstore, a good bakery, pizza spot and a good bike shop. They stock everything I need and they always seem to have good high/low cost alternatives. They also carry some things that I have had trouble finding anywhere else. They have been able to save me from more than a few last minute bike repair emergencies. The downside is that the shop can get busy at times, and the place is not huge. But all-in-all a great resource even if you aren't lucky enough to live in the neighborhood.

  • Daniel Calderon

I went there looking for a new commute bike. The staff was great, but the bike I bought was a disaster. It seems that the cause of the problems was a build quality issue (Giant) and I had a really bad time. Although my intention was to have a new bike without problems, I really appreciate the NYC Velo service because given the situation, they did what they could for find a solution to the problem in pandemic times. (even after 4 months of the transaction). When I was really frustrated and upset they showed a sincerely interest in their customer.

  • Estelle

My favorite bike shop! Everyone is super friendly and professional, but I have to thank Zach in particular, his patience and advice resulted in me getting a bike that suits me perfectly. They’re a small bike shop but they do a great job of stocking a variety of bikes, with quality accessories to match. The fact that you get free brake and gear tuning when you buy a bike from them is a great perk too. I would definitely recommend giving them a visit, I have no doubt that it will be a great experience.

  • Paulina Barria Hamamé

Yesterday, I have a huge problem with my brakes, and they helped me to solve it in less than 10 minutes, the guys from the staff were educated and very helpful to me, I have a very cheap chinese bicycle, because I'm only a little time here in New York, literally, they saved my life, so I'm very grateful. The only complaint, is that this store is really expensive, but they solve my problem in a very quick way. I will go back to buy an expensive bag, :D; but I love it.

  • Aenne Brielmann

Fast. Friendly. Fair. Unpretentious. Really a nice little bike shop. Went in with my totally worn-out, old mountain bike with a flat tire. They checked, only exchanged the inner tube which cost me merely $20. In and out within 15 minutes. Plus, I asked whether my breaks needed any refresher or whether anything else needed a little care and they did not sell me anything I didn't need but did take a look and confirmed that everything was still in order.

  • Michael Yatco

These guys just helped me prep my tri bike for an Ironman. My first experience with them was very enjoyable. They were all welcoming, knowledgable, and most importantly, honest. They gave my bike a free diagnosis and then one of their mechanics, Paul, gave me a variety of options regarding my gear maintenance before giving his assessment that I just needed the cheapest option. I'll certainly be returning for future business with these guys.

  • Daniel Motta Mello

I get a lot of repairs done here and they've always been great. The staff is helpful and super informative without being condescending. When I needed to shop for a new bike, Andrew & John really went out of their way to offer me the best options they had to fit my needs, even though they knew upfront I was looking for a specific model they did not carry; in my experience, this is not usually the case with other NYC bike shops.

  • Kim Bui

I showed up late- had just moved from Manhattan to Brooklyn and the last item I needed to move was my bike, but the tires were flat. I saw the lights were still on and some people inside. Though the shop was closed the employees were kind enough to pump up my tires. After a long day, I really appreciated the help. They also helped to adjust my brakes at no cost several weeks before. Would recommend this place highly!

  • Jack Ferris

Great selection of brands. Most of the staff are friendly and remember my bike, always a bonus if I can't bring it in. As someone who occasionally does his own work, the selection of tools and service parts is small. I totally understand since it's NYC and who has the time or space to do their own maintenance but I'd love to see a little consistency in regards to the basics: Preset torque wrenches, hex keys, etc.

  • Jonny Donuts

Went to NYC Velo after getting clipped by a car. They were responsive, knowledgeable, courteous and thorough. Best of all, they were super chill and a pleasure to work with. You can tell they live and breathe cycling and all things bike-related. Exactly the kind of people you want to see if you have any bike issues. During Covid, you wait outside and they come out to see you - very safe. Definitely recommend.

  • Zachary S

It's great to see any business that honestly cares about the community. One of the guys that worked here saw me patching a flat tire in front of the store and just came out to give me an extra tube he had laying around -- didn't want me to risk getting another flat with so many places closed. Next time I need to buy a new pump, or tire, or spend money on my bike, you bet this is the place I'm going to go to.

  • Philip Neumann

Snooty associates. Came in at 5:30pm to fix a flat and there were five people on staff and no customers, yet no one seemed capable of quickly getting me back on the road. They sat around for 15 minutes doing nothing - probably enjoying an espresso from the two machines they've got in the maintenance area. Would only come back if I absolutely needed something and only because they're convenient.

  • Rich Haskins

Waited outside for 10 mins while i watched an employee chop it up w a buddy jus to have another employee come back from break, walk in - not great me, come back outside to tell me they were out of stock on what i wanted. Couldve very easily been handled in 30 seconds by the first employee that wanted nothing to do w me when i opened the door. Usually good but as of late not overly happy :/

  • Gabriel Berlin

I've always had good experiences with NYC Velo. Friendly staff. Their selection is especially good for bike clothing and gear. I bought a great windproof jacket there, and they had a few different ones for me to try on. Recently got my bike tuned up there, they did the basics, and then explained to me what work I might want to get done in the future. No hard sell, just told me my options.

  • giorgia beavers

I was there today because wile at the march my bike got problems with the inner tube of the wheel. They said 20 mint it will be 20$. We waited outside and after not even 10 min the guy came out and took the money. Once On the Brooklyn bridge we realize the bike is down again. Moral of the story they took the money without changing nothing hopefully tomorrow someone will fix this !

  • Ian Chesnut

After spending a year in and out of shops around the city looking to upgrade my bike, I dropped in to Velo with no expectations. Pleasantly to my surprise, the prices were reasonable and the staff both friendly and super knowledgeable. My search for a new bike ended and I couldn't be happier. Got good, honest guidance and now I'm riding more than ever. Highly recommend!

  • Casey Maher

Great bike shop with super knowledgeable and friendly staff. I went in with a general idea of what I wanted, which they had, and they hooked me up fully -- everything including a helmet, lock, new pedals and a really sick new All City bike frame. The guy who helped me was so nice and really explained my options as I have no experience buying a bike. Great bike shop!

  • Diane Lehman

Awesome experience at this Velo location. My friend and I rented bikes here for an event and from the minute I emailed, right to drop off John was so professional and friendly to deal with. He took the time to make sure we were properly fitted and ready to go. It's surprisingly hard to find a really good bike shop, but this is definitely one of them. Thank you!

  • Chad Brock

Was visiting NYC with my family and wanted to rent a road bike for a ride the next morning. They were out of my size but had one at their other shop. They had one of their guys bike it over for me free of charge and loaned me some tools to tweak the fit as I had to hurry out for dinner reservations. I was super impressed with how helpful they were!

  • Michael Siegel

Nice guys working there. Unfortunately didn’t seem qualified to do the job. Went in with rear brake rubbing and came out with front and rear brake rubbing. In addition to a broken ultegra caliper that was downgraded to a 105. Shifters were oily. I would recommend to avoid using if possible. two stars not one star because they are very nice people.

  • Marcus Holthoff

Stopped by to pick up a new rear wheel for my fixed commuter. Caleb had me in and out in 10 minutes. Wheel, cog and lock nut all put on for no charge and a rear wheel that didn't break the bank. Grateful that I work around the corner from this NYC VELO shop. Even though I live in NJ I'll come back here for all my bike needs. Cheers CALEB!

  • Drew Kogon

Great shop with very knowledgable staff. I was looking for a new pair of gloves and I got a lot more knowledge than I expected. The salesperson who spoke to me told me about how the insulation of gloves work and keep you warm- as well as what not to do when riding in cold weather. Very informative. Definitely would come here again.

  • Greg Hruby

Customer service is bar none. While the shop has deep roots within the road and cross racing community, NYC velo doesn't neglect your average weekend warrior nor your daily commuter. Bike culture is huge with this store and the store engenders a community all of its own. They will be matter of fact with you and your needs. No BS.

  • Thomas Jackson Gill

I had an issue with my front breaks and I stopped in to see if they could fix the problem. Paul was extremely helpful, fixing the issue with my breaks and not charging me for it. I really appreciated the help and would go back to this bike shop without a doubt for any needs and the bikes in the shop are great too! Thanks Paul

  • Kay Bee

Went there to make a purchase, they seemed too busy talking to even ask me if I needed help. I was looking for some gloves and needed a new bike. I did not feel welcomed at all. I guess I didn't look like a big spender. Their loss, I got a good deal on a trek from their competitors. I would not recommend this snob shop.

  • Aliya Tyus-Barnwell

Their professionalism is firm and secure. No snobby attitudes. Helped me find a part at another shop when they didn't have it in stock (which is stellar customer service). Great bikes for sale too, like I need another one lol, as well as needed accessories. Plus they have the best jerseys from some exclusive companies.

  • Jesse Dimond

I've had my ups and downs with NYC Velo, but if you're lucky enough to get Cole to help you with a bike service you're doing well. He was incredibly patient, let me ask 1000 questions and watch him as he serviced my breaks. All whilst his boss was rushing him to close the store up. Cole gets 5 stars.

  • Ahmad

I have an older bike that I had left outside over the winter. Last week took it over to these guys for a regular tune up and some wire changes and afterwards, they tuned it so well, it feels like a brand new bike. Great staff, upfront about cost/work and reasonable prices. Truly a neighborhood gem

  • Mikhail Haramati

Love the outside service during COVID. I bought a phone holder here and they came out with options for me to try on the bike. Didn’t have to go in the store, got personalized service, and felt very safe talking with the whole transaction. This seems like a good model for other stores to use.

  • Luke Cameron

bought a bike here and had a great experience, I could tell the staff was under a lot of stress because of being so busy and the unconventional way of having to do sales because of social distancing rules. That being said they still were very helpful and not at all pushy or rude.

  • Dan Splains

I pumped up my tires here and the staff applauded me and told me I was among the most competent tire inflators they had ever seen. Having always admired bicycle mechanics I was extremely flattered by these remarks and have been drawing on the memory of them when I get unhappy.

  • Ben Deal

I've been to a few different bike shops around NYC and this has been my favorite so far. Very accommodating and did great work on my bike. I'll continue bringing my bike there despite living in Morningside heights. They installed the 1x drivetrain on my Tri bike pictured here.

  • M.A. Lebron

Best bike shop in Manhattan. Well, lower Manhattan - where I live - at least. Knowledgeable staff that is friendly, esp so considering how most bike store staff are surly and won't look at you if you're not riding either a fixie or a $$$50K carbon deluxe with an attitude.

  • Devin Rahal

I purchased my single speed bike at NYC Velo about two years ago. The service is impeccable. I always have 20 questions and they answer them kindly and thoroughly. The tune ups are quick and free or inexpensive. They have a vary array of merch. Why go anywhere else?

  • Evan P

It's a pretty good shop, they have a wide selection of stuff, are fast, friendly, and well-staffed (I always see someone at the front desk and 2 mechanics in the back, and they always ask if you need any help). Good for service. The clothes they sell are expensive.

  • Jen C

I’m so happy I found this little gem of a bike shop. I needed a quick brake adjustment and they took such good care of me (thanks and shoutout to Paul!) ! Honest staff, good vibes and so reasonable. Definitely will be coming back if I need any help with my bike :)

  • Jenny LaVelle

I bought my bike here a few years ago and still go back when I need anything for it. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, they let me take a ton of bikes around the block on test rides and were very patient and knowledgable throughout the whole process.

  • Matthew Davie

I've gotten my last 3 bikes at NYCVelo - 2 road bikes and 1 triathlon bike - and keep returning because they consistently treat me well. Great, quick service and my go-to place to get all my bikes race-ready. From packing to service, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

  • Lamees Alshawkani

Everyone who works here are very friendly and provide excellent customer service. Big thanks to John for always being super helpful each time I come in. I appreciate his attention and thoughtfulness when answering my questions and providing recommendations.

  • Charles Gilmore

Great shop and very helpful staffs, they really know what they are doing with my bike. It only took them more or less 10 min to fix the problem with the brake and even offered suggestions that can be of great help for me. The best bike shop I've visited.

  • Colin Powers

I get all my bikes serviced at this shop. They know what they are doing and never try to sell me anything that I don't need. They also have a good selection of quality gear and accessories that I always seem to need. You're in good hands at NYC Velo.

  • Daniel Ziller

Probably my favorite shop in the city, definitely in Manhattan. Great service and super knowledgeable staff. One of the mechanics let me borrow a bag of brake adapters so I could try them all at home and see which one fit. I’ll always come back.

  • Jefferson Faseler

My wheel was a little loose so I stopped in to borrow a ratchet. Instead Dillon tightened it up for me and put a new nut on since mine was almost stripped. No charge and super friendly. I'll definitely be back to buy something many more times.

  • Anne S

Came here after another bike mechanic had told I needed a $400 repair of my gear - I wanted a second opinion before paying that kind of money. These guys took one look and fixed the problem in less than 30 sek. At no cost. They’re the best!!!

  • Zeno Lee

This is a high-end pro shop. Keep this in mind if you're going in there as a bicycle plebeian. If you race 500 miles/week on a $5,000 bike, you're accepted and you'll love this place like it's carbon fiber nirvana. If you go there to buy a

  • Joe Flanagan

NYC Velo at e14th st and 2nd ave in manhattan is an excellent neighborhood bike shop. David and the rest of the NYC Velo team are very knowledgeable and friendly, consistently providing excellent service. I highly recommend NYC Belo bike

  • mohammed rashid

This place is a neighborhood treasure. Great assortment of bikes. Excellent service team. They've always completed every service on time and at the quoted price; even in these times of constrained supply for every part under the sun.

  • Jason Zhang

I very much enjoyed the customer service at this bike shop. There was a great selection of bikes from city bike/entry hybrid to top end road bikes. The staffs are very informative and patient with tons of questions coming from me.

  • Michael Craig

My go to bike shop - Awesome service every time. They did a great job replacing the cockpit on my CF Canyon, and their recommendations for trail/gravel rides near NYC are solid. Easy to recommend these guys - check'em out!

  • Nelia Vish

Amazingly polite, helpful and knowledgeable staff! They took care of my bike in no time, and also showed me how to fill the tires. They work super-fast and definitely go an extra mile for their customers. 100% recommend!

  • Marie Scholtz

Nicest sales team in a bike environment I've ever come across. No macho know-it-alls (although they DO know it all) or folks that make you feel inferior. They have a great inventory, and are happy to help. Thank you!

  • Omar Mullick

Super friendly and patient with me. Stopped by to pick up a small accessory for my commuter bike as I rode by. Walked me through all solutions and then afterwards chatted about other things bike related. Great shop.

  • Tom Gibson

I went here for a general service on my single speed. They have a special rate for a single speed of $50 which is great value. They got my bike running smoothly again. Really nice guys and super helpful.

  • Juan Camilo Echeverri

It's good to have a bike shop in lower Manhattan with knowledgeable mechanics that are trying their best to fix your bike. Tune ups are reasonably-priced and turned over quickly. Keep up the good work!

  • Brian Berzin

After having many not so great experiences at a few other bike shops in Manhattan, I started going to nyc velo. Amazing service shop and very knowledgeable staff, no matter what type of bike you ride.

  • C Paps

Purchased the Jake the Snake Kona from these guys. Spot on with the price and transaction was smooth. Not to mention, the service guys did a kick ass job getting the bike ready for me.. and fast!

  • Sara Bachmeier-Flores

Experienced, kind people work there! Been there a couple times now, and you can tell they genuinely just want to help you out however they can :) Fixed my chain and put air in my tires for free!

  • Michael Torres

Once during the pandemic and again after the pandemic the manager looked me out on some brake cables while I was down and out coming off an accident not being able to work for a while . Thanks.

This place takes care of their customers. Deals out great manufacturers and ensures satisfaction with the product. I really benefitted from the complementary bike fit session. Repeat customer.

I’m extremely pleased with my new bike from NYC Velo. I think velo might stand for velocity because it is by far the fastest bike that I have ever ridden. Thank you Zach Greenberg …

Fantastic service. Shop was very helpful in providing information on a wide range of bikes and helping me pick out a bike for the city. Will be using for my future bike service needs.

Visited the shop recently- what a find. Amazing shop with an even better staff- John was seriously the best. The selection is top notch for bikes. Highly recommend NYC Velo.

Excellent customer service, even under (Covid) stress. The most kind, cordial and very willing to help with test runs, which other dealers are more reluctant to do.

These fellas are the truth. They’re not the cheapest shop by any means, but I’m %110 happy with the stellar bike build/ service/ recommendations I received.

Seems like they will do their best to make you pay more. Many other bike shops I go to over this one.

Comparatively better shop than the rest in the area. I’ve tried the others so you can just come here!
