I reserved a car for November 15th at the Albuquerque airport. When I arrived there were quite a few people waiting as there were no cars. I waited about 30 minutes to get a car that did not meet my needs but I felt I had no choice as I had an appointment to try and make but missed. I understand things happen but what really is upsetting is that I called in, was told my call would be escalated and someone would call back. To date I have not received a call. It's been a week. I also wrote to Customer Service 5 days ago. No response from them either. Lots of advertising from National in my email though. There were 2 bright spots. The young man tasked with trying to keep us all informed and happy. He busted his rear to get to everyone right away and kept us up to date. He smiled through it all. The young lady when I returned the car. She graciously offered a credit for my troubles. I accepted but this only helps the company. I was the one inconvenienced. I hope National takes note and realizes how many people were inconvenienced that day. Things happen. It's how you respond that is the sign of a good company.

Super short staffed, long lines, computer problems, handling customers for Alamo, and Enterprise as well. What a recipe for a terrible review but... Mikey (who might be a manager, but certainly should be) was outside in the heat with a line of customers. He was calm and composed handling everything politely, positively, and with a smile. The counter inside was having issues with an international rental so after half an hour of struggle they started sending everyone outside. I commented that they were severely understaffed to which Mikey responded, "We had a few call-ins, but we'll have you down the road and happy in a sec, I personally guarantee it." Hot, hungry, tired, and grumpy, this young man's positive disposition was what I needed to change my attitude. My day was infinately better than what he was going through, thanks for the reminder to be thankful for the good days, even when there are "little hiccups." If not for him this review would probably be two or three stars.

Was disappointed that National did not have the vehicle I had reserved so far in advance. While the Armada may have been an upgrade in class it has less seating and cargo capacity than the minivan. We had to alter our planning to adapt to the misplay of National. Employees were great and well trained. A+. Operations grade - C. You had vehicles. Would've been nice to know in advance that there aren't any refueling stations at the return exit. I should've guessed that as I saw many cars exiting one exit north. Ended up paying the exorbitant charge rather than hunt for a quarter tank of gas as we had a two year old in tow. Perhaps someone in customer service will take note and add to the reservation detail for the next first timer to Albuquerque airport.

Upon arrival at the Tri-Cities airport, I went to the National Car Rental counter and was greeted by Paige Raebel. She quickly processed the paperwork, provided me with her business card in case I needed any support during my stay, warned me that the inclement weather recently experienced limited National's ability to completely clean the outside of the car, and reminded me about the rental car key drop off point at that airport. She then followed up with both an e-mail and a voice mail to make sure I knew how to find help from National, if needed. Finally, she then informed me by voice mail about the amount of the rental, since the counter wasn't opened when I returned the vehicle. Excellent customer service from National on this trip.

Your employees are great, but National does not have enough cars available! I had to wait at an empty rental lot, along with approximately 20-30 other people for cars to be "brought down" to the rental lot. The National employee at the lot was very personable, under a clearly stressful situation, but the but the lack of cars is unacceptable. As an emerald club executive I expect, plan, and budget my time assuming there will be cars available when I arrive so I can grab one and be on my way. This is not happening on a regular basis. Also, when I try to reserve a car, I am constantly told that National (and Enterprise) do not have any cars available. If this continues I will definitely stop renting from National, and use another vendor.

Our 5 star rating is directly due to the outstanding customer service that Lauren provided. Our initial experience was not going well due to a male employee who was older. He was completely unhelpful, he stopped helping us in the middle of finding us the type of car we reserved and started helping two ladies that appeared older in age than my husband and me. He actually said we could go rent a car from your company's competitor. Now, enter Lauren to save the day. She did an excellent job and provided the type of customer service any company would be proud of. She deserves recognition for her stellar work. Thank you Lauren for all your help. We truly appreciate employee's like you.

Well, I am an Executive member and loyal to National, but I landed in ABQ and was on my way to pick up my car on the lot. It was late, 10:30pm on a Wednesday, and when I arrived at the lot, there were no cars and I was the forth in line. We were told that cars would not be available until 4am the following day. Long story short, we were not given hotel vouchers, UBER rides or food vouchers. Finally, two cars were released, after I pitched a fit, and I was given a car. Two people left and that is the only reason that I did get a car. I would have waited, but I was going to my mother's funeral 2 hours away and I needed to go that night. I hope that National gets there act together.

The employees at the Albuquerque Airport location did their best, but all they could offer me that was large enough for my family was a 3-year-old, dirty, damaged, defective, 3-year-old vehicle with over 55,000 miles on it. As a long-time executive status member, I have come to expect better from National Car Rental. Again, the local employees were accommodating and apologetic for the poor selection as well as the many issues with the van I had to drive, even providing a discount on my rental (for which I am grateful). But, a week of vacation driving around in a that sub-standard mini-van was not the quality of service I have come to expect from National Car Rental.

Love dealing with National Car Rental. Comparing pricing, we found National to be the best price with the best car options. My husband was very impressed with the "go directly to your car" option and selecting the vehicle we wanted from a whole area of options. He uses Uber mostly for his travel, and was bragging on the quick process National has with their "no-counter" line to obtain your rental. They were honest when identifying the vehicle was only 3/4 full and not completely, but we decided to fill the tank anyway. We used National in Albuquerque for personal use this time, but I use them all the time for Business.

I travel to Albuquerque, NM Sunport for business at least thirty times a year. I always choose National Rental Car because of the sincere, consistently great, Customer Service. Specifically, Mary, always goes above and beyond to not only greet me by-name, but offer a genuine smile and friendly conversation. It's obvious that she cares about me not just as a customer, but as a person. As long as Mary is there, I will always be back. I can't thank her enough for going the extra mile every time I see her. We chose National after a mess up with Enterprise and could not have been more impressed with National’s customer service. After a long and late flight with small children we encountered Eric. He approached us with the biggest, warmest smile you’ve ever seen and his professionalism was off the charts…right down to his snazzy suit! This was my first car rental with National and I must say I had a great experience. We had gone on vacation in went to Albuquerque New Mexico. Logan had seen as looking at which car to decide and he was very friendly and very helpful. We picked our car and exited out the gate very quickly and off we went. We returned the car after our extended stay with unfortunately a cracked windshield. Dropping off was with ease just like picking up. No hassle at all. National is my new car rental agency. Rented at Albuquerque Sunport. Exceptional service. I arrived and thought I'd lost my phone -- worst thing that could happen before a 3-week vacation. National Station Manager Lauren Bates was so nice, helped me using her office phone with the bus shuttle service, was eminently patient as I finally located it, and then helped me by locating a super clean, new Audi that was exactly what we needed. Thanks, Lauren, and thanks National -- join the Emerald Club, it does take one less BIG hassle out of traveling.

National usually has things together, but my experience picking up a car in ABQ was awful. First they didn't have any cars ready when we got there, then after a 20 minute wait, my car showed up and it was damaged. I spent the trip worried it would come back on me even though I was assured it would not. Then the line to get out of the facility has be wait another 30 minutes. What should have been a 5 minute experience took an hour. Hopefully that was a one-off but it was not great.

Great experience at National in Albuquerque- there were huge lines the day we got in and with National I skipped the line and went out to get my car , which I chose from the many there. Austin went out of his way to make sure that my profile was up to date as i had not been traveling as much after COVID and there were a few things out of date. He fixed me right up and had me on my way in a few minutes. Great rate and great service -Thanks National!

In today's world, with lack of cars, understaffing, shorter hours, I don't know ANY rental experience that could be deemed pleasant. However, both the rep on Emerald arrival and the rep accepting the returned car, were real people and pleasant. The complimentary upgrade was a nice touch, though I suspect that other than fuel, the car hadn't been serviced. There was still markings on the passenger window.

This reservation could not have been easier! I loved no lines and no waiting! Everything was electronic and very easy! We forgot our booster seat and I was in a panic until I realized they have this option to add and it was ready when we landed. The car was clean and the one person who we had contact with outside was helpful in getting us the car we chose on the reservation.

The entire process was seamless! A very nice car was waiting when we arrived, and the checkout process was very easy. I do wish, there had been a walk-around prior to our leaving with the car. Business trip to Albuquerque. Shuttle to rental car lot. Walked straight to a vehicle, showed my driver's license to exit. All done within minutes of arriving. Dropped car in return lanes, nice guy checked the car over before I could even finish getting my luggage out and the transaction was complete.

They have a great selection of cars with in emerald aisle and executive areas with plenty of cars available to choose from on a weekday afternoon. The staff checked with me on the return on how was the rental and addressed the concerns. Would always choose this nation location and recommend other too.

Great Experience - Austin was great at checkout in April. In September I came back to Albuquerque and Ara Richards and his team took care of me. I rented a Tacoma, it was a great little truck. A few things were wrong with it though. The front passenger tire had a screw in it, the truck would wobble anything over 50mph and the tires had some bad wear on them from a bad alignment. Those things could be fixed and the attendants were great.

The one click reservation and Emerald Aisle pick up processes make renting a car about as easy as possible. Everyone at the other companies were waiting in line and I literally went from no reservation to driving out of the parking lot in less than 5 minutes. It was amazing.
