The time due for my car for the two day rental was 10 pm. I turned mine in after 9, but well before 10. I left the keys in the drop box. A few days later, SIXT charged me for an extra day of use for the car. I emailed them back, clarifying that nobody was there to receive it, so I dropped the keys (as instructed) in the black drop key box. Nobody read the email, they charged me anyway. Days later, they wrote me back, asking for EVIDENCE that I'd turned the car in on-time, completely questioning me as a customer. I gave them an Uber receipt from my hotel to the airport the next day, as the car rental place was so close to my hotel, I walked back that night and took an $8 uber instead of paying $50 for another day of rental car for a 6 am flight. SIXT said that uber receipt was no good as evidence, and me sending that should be completely unnecessary, as I'm not in charge of SIXT's accounting for cars turned in on time. Someone didn't do their job. I called SIXT, waited on hold a long time. Spoke with customer service. After a long conversation, he said the charge would be removed within 24 hours and that I would receive a call from the ABQ Sixt office within 24 hour to make amends on top of removing the charge. SIXT never called. SIXT never removed the charge. I had to call my credit card company to have it removed. These people are unprofessional and not too friendly. You never blame the customer when you fail to do your own job. Checking the turned in car keys on the hour isn't my job, it's offensive as a customer to be questioned when you did everything right. This company doesn't get it.

Thank you Jerry, Lon and Amy. We rented our car from San Diego and were here in ABQ visiting the grandparents when the change oil light came on. We called SIXT to find out what we should do since we were so far from San Diego. They told us to take it to the ABQ location at the airport to switch the car out. Jerry immediately set to work finding us a vehicle that was large enough as we couldn’t go smaller due to our luggage needs. Luckily we were able to exchange our vehicle for something comparable that could match the size of our X3. We then told Jerry we needed to extend our rental and he went above and beyond to figure out the best way to extend our rental time without causing us unnecessary fees (since it now looked like we were picking up our vehicle in ABQ). We really really appreciate his expertise and the phone calls he made to make sure we wouldn’t have a mess to unwind when we turn back the car to San Diego. We were really happy to have someone help us in-person as opposed to over the phone. Jerry really went above and beyond to take care of us and we deeply appreciate it. He said he really liked working for Sixt and I hope Sixt will recognize his dedication to making sure a customer is taken care of the right way. He could have easily told us just to call the 800 number, but he took the personal initiative to help us. Sixt is growing in the US and are happy to see them making a positive footprint with good personnel like Jerry and his colleagues. It will make all the difference in their future growth here. They claimed the reservation was never paid for even though we had that recipe and a confirmation number to back it up. we were FORCED TO GO TO ANOTHER VENDOR TO GET A VEHICLE!! After discussing this with her for well over an hour and a half, that Company was even kind enough to match your Price. BUT I WANT YOU TO BE AWARE we tried to get a refund and you are refusing that refund now BUT THE ABSOLUTE WORST THING BECAUSE OF YOUR YOUNG EMPLOYESS LACK OF TRAINING OR WHATEVER WE ARRIVED THOSE 2HRS AND 10MIN LATE TO DEMING, NM. CAUSING NEITHER ONE OF US TO SEE OUR LOVED ONE BEFORE THEY DIED. YOU SEE MY MOTHER WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER AND TOLD US Sunday. When I arrived, I was happy to see there was no one in line! I approached the counter and stopped to wait for the one employee behind the counter to greet me, acknowledge me, and ask how she may help. During this interaction, she slowly set her phone down and asked for my name. After using one hand while still seated, she asked for my credit card and ID. This was when I noticed her phone face up that I had interrupted the important Tiktok time, which must be why I received attitude throughout the interaction. The irritation beaming from this girl was clear and evident. I attempted politeness as questions that were asked of me resulted in questions from me. This caused further irritation, which led me to attempt to hurry the process, accept the additional insurance, and continue on with my day. Being a business trip (again), and being my first time renting with Sixt, I didn't have time to complain. First and last with this company. A BMW for $5 less a day isn't worth it. My time is far more valuable!

I definitely would never recommend renting with Sixt through Expedia, as it was one of the worst experiences. Long story short, the Expedia app glitched while booking and the screen froze. I booked a new reservation and ten minutes later the first attempted magically went through. I immediately reached out to both Sixt and Expedia and neither could fix the problem and said it was the other company’s issue to refund my money for the extra booking. All the way up until the reservation day I called both companies and I even told the guy at the counter my situation and that I clearly didn’t need two reservations for the same day and time and just needed the one. He was actually really nice and gave me his email and that it would get fixed and after numerous emails and calls, I was never able to get refunded. Such a disappointment in customer service from both Sixt and Expedia and I’ll never be using either again.

Rented a car here about a month ago. Booked it through Kayak so wasn't sure what to expect, as I usually go with whoever's cheapest. I'll admit I got a little nervous in the run up to the reservation given some of the negative comments here about the level of service and mystery charges etc. However, everything went pretty seamlessly with our rental. We arrived early and they had a car ready for us (a free upgrade even!). The cost to add a second driver was much lower than I am used to. We were off on our way very quickly. Upon return, someone met us out at the lot and processed us in about 2 minutes. Before we even got on the shuttle back to the airport I had the return receipt in my inbox with no additional charges added. Haven't had any issues since. Loved being able to drive a 3-series through the desert at a rental price most mid-market sedans are going for these days.

I was denied to pick up a vehicle which I had prepaid for a day before by a short bearded stingy man at the counter on Sunday 8/6/2023. He asked for two credit cards, " it has to bear same name on each of the cards" he verbalized. I tried to tell him that I only had one credit card and that the car was already paid for. All he could rudely say was " sorry you don't qualify, local renters don't return the vehicles and are known to wreck the vehicles". He refused to even facilitate my refund since I didn't take the vehicle. Till date I'm still waiting on the refund. So said! Stay away from these greedy monsters people! BEWARE! Stay away from these idiots! Despite sending them a detailed email regarding the above issue, they haven't tried to reach out to me, and there is no refund yet.

Got some really great deal from SIXT. The rental process is quick and efficient. Picking up the car is really easy. All rental car companies should follow their model. Have rented numerous times in Albuquerque just because of the customer service and the efficiency of the rental process. I drive a BMW so I rent BMWs everytime so I fell comfortable. Rented an X5 for a couple of weeks to travel. It was awesome. Just recently rented a 530 and it was fairly new and super clean. If you had a bad experience at SIXT you need to look at yourself first. Never have had any issues at all at this place. In Dallas SIXT was a savior for me. Rent direct from them. Do not use a third party for renting cars. Those reservations are not guaranteed.

SCAM! This company charged me, failed to call me to tell me they didn’t have a vehicle for me, refused to refund me, and would not allow me to talk to a manager. I ended up having to pay double at a different rental place (plus the money they scammed me out of). Then…. She proceeded to tell me that I ordered from a third party when I distinctly told her that I never do because of issues like this. She still made me prove this; however after I showed it to her, she stopped talking. I asked why they didn’t call me. She said they usually do, but they forgot because the morning crew is new. Heres a solution… train them!!! Lawyers will be involved if all monies are not returned. Save yourself the hassle and avoid at all cost!!!

Absolutely everything about the rental process was EXCELLENT, until I got the bill, which I didn't get until days after I returned the car. I did not like this practice at all. I wanted to know what I was being charged for then, not days later when there was no one to speak to. I was not told about the additional driver charge at pickup, so my bill was $225 more than expected. I loved everything about your service, except the billing practice. I find it extremely deceptive and will not recommend you or use your company in the future. Do companies not realize how valuable the good will of the pubic is? I was sold until the end. Bait and switch. You would think I would be wise to it by now.

I rented a car for 1 month. When I got there they ask for my license as they should, but then they asked for my passport (something I didn’t had because I don’t need it). Then they refused to get my card because it wasn’t from a US bank even though it has a master card logo. Then they charged me extra for a insurance because mine “wasn’t covered completely”. They gave me another car free charge, but it was a bad experience. After a month with the car… I noticed they charged me all the experience. When I called earlier they told me I was charged for a month and I could bring the car. It is very disappointing because this is something they could’ve informed me. Worst car rental ever.

Absolute nightmare!!! I’m a regular customer there I arrive I have a reservation rep tells me there only Sentra available when I booked for a full size Then my rental is for a week I change to daily so I can talk to manger next day he tells me sorry can’t help because you changed to one when in fact I want to talk to him about the issues I wasn’t helped or treated fairly very disappointed this time around I have been coming there bi-monthly I’m very sad about how they treat their customers hope they get new staff to treat the returning customers with some kind of dignity and passion for their business I hope someone can make this issue right also.

"We just sent you an email to inform that we cancelled your reservation because our system failed. There's nothing we can do. Please go to Dollar or Thrifty." The person ahead of me had no issue with his reservation. But the reps did nothing to help me. "There's nothing we can do! May be if you come back to Albuquerque next time I could give an upgrade." How can a business treat a customer like that when a customer had made a reservation months in advance? It makes me think that Sixt cancelled my reservation last minute to rent the same car to someone else to maximize profit. If you are reading this review, STAY AWAY FROM SIXT.

After our flight, we arrived at Sixt car rental to find out we were downgraded on our reservation, which isn’t a huge deal, except we are both over six feet tall and specifically reserved a larger ride for more leg room and especially where we look through the windshield, and mistakenly charged us for a longer reservation, (which the person who got our ride, took more days, and we were charged for their days, when we were already home). Our credit card was charged, and after providing our boarding pass, and a couple of emails back and forth, they promptly refunded our credit. The professionals we dealt with were very kind.

Booked last minute for an emergency trip to Sante Fe Presbyterian to be with a cousin who had gone into a coma - I was closer relative and could get there fastest. I was highly emotional and anxious but Kimberly showed so much understanding and kindness and got me through tbe process and on my way in a fantastic BMW 3 Series. I had rented for 4 days but fortunately my cousin’s Mom and Aunt showed up later and she came out of the rough patch. Retuned the car 2 days early and Jerry showed the same kindness and understanding. We use SIXT anytime we are in a city that has one.

When I was seated in the rental trying to pull out of a parking spot, an employee nearly hit me trying me to park another car. Then when I made it to the exit gate, I sat for a solid 5 minutes with the gate closed in front of me and no employee in sight. Finally, the door to the booth opened and employee came out, wordlessly took my paperwork and eventually opened the gate. To make matters worse, I returned the car with the fuel gage reading F and I have a $41 surcharge for fuel. There is no phone number listed for them on the invoice. I will never rent from Sixt again.

The rental car was very nice and I enjoyed the driving experience. I had to rate the overall experience a 2 because of the customer service experience. I typically rent with Enterprise & I know what I am getting each time with customer service. No matter which Enterprise I've rented from, customer service is always top notch, consistent. This was not the case with SIXT. No calls, returned, no support with even something very simple. I'll stick with Enterprise or T. Brady & Hertz, something more established with strong values in customer service. (Albuquerque location)

This was our first experience renting from Sixt and it was great. “THE Kim” assisted us when we arrived to pick up our car. She was so sweet and personable. Meeting her when we arrived started our trip off right! The vehicle was brand new and couldn’t have been any better. When we returned the vehicle we were met by Amy G. Another wonderful employee, who was welcoming and engaged! Both employees we worked with were fantastic representatives of the company. The process of picking up and returning the vehicle was easy. We will definitely use Sixt in the future.

My experience with Sixt was great. Reynette at the counter was awesome. I asked if it was possible to have a black color car and she noticed it was my birthday that day and gave me a free upgrade. I think some of the older reviews must have been before there is a whole consolidation of where the car rentals are at the sun port because everything is up to par with the competition in the facility they are all located in. Was a breeze dropping it off as well and didn’t incur any additional charges as I made sure to return topped off. Thanks again!

The staff at the Sixt check in counter at Albuquerque airport looked like they had just got in from an all night rave. The three of them were unkempt and disheveled. They were unfriendly, unhelpful, and uninformed, and for the 5th time in a row Sixt did not have the car I booked. The only redeeming factor here is Amy G who checked us back in upon our return, she was welcoming, personable, and all round a good representative. I suggest that you promote Amy G and get rid of the other three. Sixt, you just lost a customer.

My rental car experience with SIXT was exceptional. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews…either people don’t read terms and policies or just act like they're owed everything, but I didn’t have any issues or negatives when renting. The woman at the counter was very helpful, I got the vehicle I wanted, and I needed to extend the trip a day which was no issue. The fees I received such as toll fees were well explained. Overall, great experience. Thank you SIXT, will rent from you all again in the future.

Not great, first rental EVER they didn't have what I reserved and wanted to downgrade me so I went somewhere else. Got a call asking why I didn't make it to the reservation, told them exactly what happened, Then next time I tried renting at this location the lady confronted me saying "oh you left us a bad review and I got in trouble" when in fact I did not, just stated I wasn't going to accept a downgrade - but you know what? Here's your bad review I'll stick with the other major rental agencies.

This company went above and beyond! They were curious, fast, efficient, had amazing service, and offered me water upon arrival. They didn't have the exact vehicle that I ordered, so they upgraded me to a premium vehicle. When I needed to extend my time I called the first time and it was so easy accomplishing over the phone. The second time I need to extend, I did it online. The site is easy to navigate and my requests took seconds to apply to my contract. I will use this company, Only, from now on.

While I understand that sixt rent a car cannot control the weather, every single other hotel reservation and vendor that we used for our now canceled trip, refunded our full amount except sixt rent a car. There's absolutely no way to talk to anybody when we tried calling. Robot "customer service"... Apparently they still need their $200 for providing no services. Thanks guys! I'll never use you now and hopefully someone reads this review and steers clear of you as well. Hope it was worth it.

Overall a fine experience. I booked online and declined additional insurance when I paid in advance and once again when I checked in. But I was almost charged for insurance anyway, described as "required fees" until I pressed and was told that I had only declined the extended insurance and not the basic. So definitely pay attention to what you're paying for! Fortunately I was, they eventually let me take that charge off, and the rest of the rental process, car etc worked well.

Had a scheduled appointment on 09/06/23 for 6pm. Only to show up on time and be told that it would not be ready till 9pm, thank God we were able to get it cancelled. However your employee Ameris was her name no name tag on, had to ask for her name, lacked customer service skills, she was more interested in talking to her coworker about another coworker I had to interrupt her to get her attention. Not happy with the service. This was at Albuquerque support location .

We rented a car from ABQ airport during our vacation and we needed some help with the billing. The branch manager (Jerry) was very patient as we explained the situation and jumped right into helping us. He carefully reviewed our rental information and helped make the necessary adjustments. They take care of their customers at this location and If we are in ABQ area again in the future, we will rent from sixt! Thank you Jerry and to the team members!

Dustin and Damariz were a great help on check-in! We rented a car for a week but had messed up our original order and needed to add a second driver and insurance. Both sixt reps worked to get the order processed properly and discounted the cost of the additional driver. Damariz followed up with us the following day to let us know everything had been approved. They were great and upper management should give both of them a raise!

Absurdly bad check in process took more than 45 minutes to process a queue of just five parties. We stood in line in the heat with an infant waiting for our turn. We needed a car seat, but when we examined the seat they brought for us, we found it to be long expired. We examined all their car seats and found just one that was not yet expired. If that isn't illegal it ought to be, and Sixt ought to be reprimanded and fined.

I had a terrible experience this morning returning a SIXT Rental car to ABQ rental car. The SIXT rental car return location was closed with cars blocking it, no instructions on returning if no one is available. Dropped keys in return box and left the car in rental center parking lot. Called SIXT support to inform them of what we did. But still having issues, as car is shown as not returned. Last time working with SIXT.

I have rented with Sixt about 10 times so far, I travel to NM a lot for work, and I have had a great experience each time. Both Damariz and Diana were fantastic and so helpful. Diana went about and beyond to give me suggestions for places in ABQ. The rental procedure and drop off are so easy, the cars are always clean and ready to take off the lot, and returning the car is probably the quickest I've every experienced.

Not a fan. Booked via Expedia, was told the insurance via Expedia is third party, was told the insurance coverage for my three day rental was $36.00. after billing found out it was $36.00 per day, the counter staff only said $36.00 so my bad. My 3 day rental was over $250.00 total. Be careful of the deception. This will be my only time renting from sixt, I get better service and communication from enterprise.

If I had the option, I’d give this company a SIX(t) out of five! Reyette and the branch manager went above and beyond to make sure my plans could go ahead, despite multiple setbacks on my part. I was visiting New Mexico/US for the first time and was traveling solo… I couldn’t be happier to have been in such capable and trustworthy hands. Also the car was clean and very comfortable. Do not rent from SIXT. I secured a rental through Expedia for four days. When i received my final invoice i was charged $167 more that I was quoted. AND.. There were scratches all over the car that I took pictures of when we picked up the car. They are charging me for those also even thought i sent them the date stamped pictures. USE ANYONE ELSE! I see others with the same comments.

Again, a great and convenient experience at SIXT. I always rent at SIXT when I am in the US. Great service and the guy at the reception was very friendly to share advice for some restaurants. The only bummer: We wanted to ride the Toyota Tacoma for our road trip, but ended up with a BMW. This was because the GPS/NAV in the Tacoma was not activated. The BMW was a great car, though.

What turned out to be a rough beginning with my first rental ended up great thanks to Reynette! Although they upgraded me with the first car, it seemed to have issues with the door and alignment so I took it back and Reynette helped me out and quickly got me in a less problematic suv. Shoutout to Ruth from the 800 number as well to help coordinate the experience.

Horrible experience. I thought I found a great deal through Expedia. When I checked out, I asked the desk agent to remove the damage waiver but she did not which caused our bill to DOUBLE. She also told me that $200 would be returned as it was just a deposit. It wasn't. There are other car rental companies out there and I'd highly recommend using them over Sixt.

Booked the car for 5 days and was quoted a price of $238 before taxes. After I returned the vehicle my credit card was charged more than doubled the original quoted price. I returned the vehicle with a full tank of gas and no damage, at most the vehicle needed a vacuuming. I would not recommend this rental company unless you’re okay with being over charged.

Try and rent elsewhere. I had lost my license and had a printed temporary license. I provided that along with other id and they would not rent to me from my pre paid reservation. They are low cost for a reason, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL. Went a few counters over to Budget and they accepted my temporary printed license. At the end you get what you pay for.

The overall experience was great, but it was immediately soured by the hidden charges. A four day Rav4 rental ended up costing $600 with no damage fees. The prepaid agreement was stated to be $275, which is why we went with Sixt. They added on $300+ to the original agreement. Never again will I trust Sixt. Enterprise sticks to their quotes.

I was quite nervous before booking with this company from ABQ airport location given the reviews. But I had a great experience with my rental. I got the cheapest prices possible on a thanksgiving weekend, Got a clean hybrid SUV for that price. No hassle in picking up and returning the vehicle. I would recommend this place.

Raynette @ SIXT- Albuquerque was and is amazing. Smoothest check-in I’ve had and I travel A LOT. There were also some unreasonable customers that were trying to make things very difficult. Raynette kept her composure and handled the situation gracefully. I hope every rental experience I have will be as pleasant and this.

My flight got delayed! Sixt was already closed. I saw Damariz walking out and asked if she could help me get my rental car. She helped me get my vehicle and answered my questions. Damariz was patient, professional and amazing! I will for sure continue to rent vehicles from Sixt. They have phenomenal staff!

My daughter left her phone in the car when we turned it in a week ago. I was told to email a shipping label to the branch, which I did, last Tuesday. Tracking shows it has yet to be shipped. I called the branch on Friday and was assured it would be shipped on Friday but I have no indication that it was.

This was my first time renting a car. I did almost everything online for check in so when I got to the counter it took less than 5 minutes to get me up and running. Was a very nice and clean car that ran well. Drop off was also simple and fast. 100% would rent from them again.

Horrible! Watch the sneaky insurance add on! I said twice at pick up I did NOT want the extra insurance. Well they billed it anyway. At drop off I questioned it and lady was very argumentative about it. Will never do business with this company again.

Friendly people, clean, almost brand new car. Pricing was better than any other I found. I drove a 330i for 5 days and had no problems with anything. I would definitely rent from them again the next time I visit Albuquerque.

Absolutely the worst car rental company I’ve ever used. I brought my car back early and they refused to refund my money. Totally a scam company who should be avoided. Do yourself a favor and rent from a real company.

Good price for nice cars.... extension to original reservation is a bit complicated due to extension must be at the local office in person but agents are extremely helpful and take care of the process very quickly.

If someone else books and pays for it, they have to refund and use your card when you show up. Book with ACE or another to avoid this.
