Used to really like this grocery store - they don’t have a big selection of obscure/specialty foods but they carry all of the necessities and the options are still pretty good given the relatively small area. The ready-to-eat meals and bakery are both good but not great, but worth it for the price. The bakery desserts always look exciting, but the execution is sometimes underwhelming - the cakes are too sweet for me. I have always gotten excellent bread from the bakery though. Staff is mostly pretty nice. Occasionally I’ve met employees who seem unhappy to be having to deal with me, but those are a minority. I say I “used to” like Nester’s because today I came here to grab a quick dinner, and as I was leaving, a mouse ran out from underneath the condiments/trash counter in the eating area, running right into my foot before scurrying out of sight again. Seeing that this is apparently an ongoing issue, I think I’ll be avoiding this store for a while. I have to leave just 1 star even though I do still like their food because I cannot recommend a store with a rodent problem in good conscience.

Although I am a regular customer at this Nester's and have been coming here for literally years, I was very disappointed today when I went there to order hot food from the readymade food area. A Filipino lady who barely spoke English was assisting me and she pretty much yelled at me when I asked her to reduce the quantity of food in my order. She was mostly unwilling to help, had an unpleasant and angry tone, and I could tell she wanted me off her back as soon as possible. I could not even understand what she was saying as her English was so poor. I'm not sure if the manager even reads these posts but please advise your staff particularly in the hot food kitchen area to: A) be more observant about their surroundings - a lot of them dont seem to be paying attention when customers are ready to order and B) not be rude to customers if they want to modify their order Also I understand you have employees from different cultural backgrounds but speaking English should be a basic minimum requirement so the staff can communicate with the customers. Just a little feedback.

What has happened to this location? It used to be so friendly and have great deals and great management since you have gotten new management, The store has gone downhill. The staff is so depressed and I have been told on numerous occasions that the manager is nothing but a little bully Not to mention the mouse situation is the worst I’ve ever seen it. The turnover that I have seen in the last six months is crazy. You really have to look at yourself as a company and who is making these decisions. Please. Get new management or the old management back. That is the only hope of saving this location because most of us have decided to shop at other grocery stores what a shame for your local customers and you’re loyal staff

Local shop mostly overpriced but well stocked. Certainly needs the managers doing a better job at training staff for service. Most times the cashiers or staff in the deli look like you cursed at them for making them give you something or while they are scanning your items (which is literally their job) I stopped saying thanks at this point as I would say thanks for months on end and never once heard “you’r welcome” or “have a nice day back”. Basic courtesy really, they look like they are very unhappy folk. Honestly I dont need attitude during my grocery shop. I am not asking for smiles or small talk, but a “how can I help you?” Or “have a nice day” would go a long way

Great little market! Looks and feels like it's going to be expensive likea specialtyfood store, but for the most part it's comparably priced to a mainstream supermarket. Amazing selection of foods and specialty items that are what you would expect from a high end delicatessen like Meinharts for example. At the time I was there, I found the associates could use a little more coaching in being more engaged with shoppers and smiling more. One worker was stocking produce with his mask pulled down and not covering nose and mouth at all. Other than those minor improvements that could be made, would highly recommend checking this store out! A+

Wow what a nice store very clean and accommodating. Actually, I am wishing for a perfect grocery store that will surely cater to my needs. All of my inquiries are surely answered and wow I was not wrong of choosing your store. I bought all of my wants for our house and especially to my family. I never even regret of picking this up. I would definitely recommend this to all because this is the perfect spot for them to buy some delicious foods. If I were you, don;t hesitate to go here because the moment you will enter in this spot, you will have a beautiful smile. You must try this because it is very worth it!

This is a great supermarket in downtown Vancouver offering a broad selection of goods to offer particularly if you are visiting Vancouver and staying in a self contained apartment. There are a limited number of brands on offer for particular products but they remain high quality. For example there are two main bread suppliers and a small range of gourmet breads, the quality of both brands are very high. Prices are competitive and reasonable. Of note is the deli staff and meat staff who still fold up the products in a perfect rectangular package just like the ole Italian and Greek deli stores

This store is in my neighbourhood and I often end up there, but things have been slipping over the last year or two and now I prefer to go elsewhere. Prices are high but I guess if you want to install new flooring, lighting and such you need to charge the customer. The bakery section is really lacking and rapidly becoming tasteless and stale. Cinnamon rolls are now slathered with super sweet icing and no cinnamon.I now generally rely on it for milk, eggs and some occasional chicken and not much more. I used to really love this store in past years, but its past its prime.

I actually like this supermarket, and it’s just steps away from where I live, and they have a good variety of food. The reason I came to leave this review is the security guard working there! He was basically following me around and I never felt so uncomfortable and insulted when shopping. I actually noticed he did the same last time I was there, but I tried to ignore it, but today it was just so obvious. So disgusted by these people they hire for security. They either need a better training or should get their rules revised.

I never used to like Nesters because the aisles felt too cramped. But after moving nearby, I've come to really appreciate the staff and products they sell here. In particular I'd like to highlight the meat department. The butchers are so kind and give great advice. There are always good deals too. The butchers are eager to help and will cut down any meat packages into smaller portions, debone meat for you, etc. There is definitely something to be said for the personal touch in their service!

  • Michael Williams

If zero stars were possible I would give that rating. The produce department is a disgrace and looks like they are trying to sell product that Safeway threw away days ago. Wilted kale. Rotten carrots. It’s an embarrassment. Their deli staff are rude and avoid eye contact at all cost so they don’t have to serve customers. I fail to understand how this store stays in business. Save your money and frustration, go one block down to IGA. We will never, ever be back.

  • Christopher Wilson

I know downtown stores are more expensive, but this place definitely gauges you. Also their produce is constantly low quality and old. I don't understand how other larger chains and even Choices down the street have fresher produce. At Nestors the berries are soft and mushy, the peppers wrinkled, and the avocados either rotten or the greenest ive seen. Do they not use the same supplier as the rest of the Pattison Group?

  • Yagyaseni

If you're in need of groceries and everyday items, chances are you'll find it here. Their selection of products is varied and the prices are affordable. They have a wide range of cooked food that you can choose from. I even saw a few frozen Indian dishes that are microwaveable. They have a good selection of chocolates as well. The store of clean and their service was swift. Would definitely recommend.

  • Guilherme Guedes

Just an amazing market. They have a friendly and helpful service, fair prices, fresh food and you can find a lot of healthy items there too, including healthy snacks, waters with different pH levels, a wide range of fruits and a lot more. I'm definitely coming back, it has become my favorite Vancouver market so far. It is not a place you want to go is you are in a hurry, though.

  • Phil Abraham

It's peak time after work (5pm) and they only have 2 cashiers on and they have line up 20 people long. No sense of urgency. My salad had a $2 markdown sticker on it, and they forgot to reduce it on my bill, didn't notice until I left. I live across the street, so I end up here often but it's the worst grocery store. Go to IGA if you want quicker service and better prices.

  • Shan Liu

Their store is speechless. I mean, what can I say. I used to come here often until one day i bought stuff, I feel so terrible that need to go to the bathroom, they pretend they don’t have it. They only earn your money without caring about you, food you buy or whatever. Daemon. I mean, food place like this who know what they put in your meal.

  • Hway X

Friendly staff but may need to be better trained. First time visit, staff took a long time to find out how to process my order. Second time which is today, I brought my own bag and asked not to use any plastic bags but when I check the receipt at home, I was charged for plastic bag... I do not appreciate sloppiness like this.

  • Kellyluhv

Not used to nesters this small, I mainly go to nesters cause it's the only supplier of chai tea concentrate that I use for my daily morning tea. Authentica I believe is the brand. Usually, in stock at the other locations. Sometimes the shelf is cleared cause it's so popular. But yeah this is great for certain quick grabs

  • Soner Kalayci

I wouldn't call them cheap but they are not very expensive either. I like their choice of brands, you always get the high quality products. This particular store may be low on fresh produce but then again it is always fresh. I'd recommend this market to everyone looking to buy everything from one place.

  • Talulah Kozak

Very good selection of products, but both times I was in there today there was an awful cashier who refused to help me (would just pass me on to other people working), was incredibly rude, and criticized everything I did. Her aside, it's a pretty good grocery store. She just ruined it for me.

  • Marcello Lins

My go-to place for getting something quick to eat at night. Prices are expensive, yes, but what's not in downtown ? You can easily find anything from fresh bagels and croissants to meat and pasta plates. It's amazing what you can find here. I feel like in every visit I can find something new.

  • Bear 2d2

Friendly staff, small store. Not a huge selection of items and outrageous prices if you're not used to $3 a can of soup. Great deli selections, soup, sandwiches, and even cheeses are more than you find at a bigger chain. No pharmacy. Hard to fit a stroller, wheelchair, or walker there.

  • R.J. Powers

Amazing meat department. Very very clean. Incredible sale items. Moderate to high prices but quality all the way. There is Marlee and Cherry and now Tom who helped me plan my bosses birthday celebration. Thank you, Tom, who went above and beyond!! What a store,!!

  • K L

But overpriced but it’s acceptable as it’s downtown after fall. The staffs are friendly and they carry quality items to purchase. Definitely a place to hit up when you need something quick as they also have made meals for pick up which are pretty decent.

  • OH02

Spitted a sharp and big piece of glass out of my mouth as it was in the sandwich which I bought their display at the meat & cheese shop.. Still in a state of shock, luckily didnt swallow it but almost break teeth.. Do not risk your life on 8.99$ meal..

  • John Hodson

Only reason I go here is geographical convenience, and 1 specific pasta salad they SOMETIMES have in. If it weren't for those two details, I wouldn't go at all. I find the prices are steep, selection of frozen foods is limited. Staff are nice though.

  • Thomas Dafinger

This little supermarket was located just next to my downtown hotel I was booked in. I found everything I needed for my hotel stay. Unfortunately there were no self-checkouts so that I had to wait in line for some minutes during my shopping tour.

  • James Dunn

Staff is very unfriendly and unhelpful. If a mistake is made when you order at the deli they always tell me I ordered incorrectly no matter how hard I try to be clear. If you don't bring your own bag and forget to ask for one... that's your

  • M Bhatti

Nice little grocery store on the corner of Symour/Nelson. It's got a wide range lunch options, and everything from a deli counter to a butcher. Prices are a little high, but that's expected given the location. Also has a little seating area.

  • Alex Chao

Valenteena made my vacation all the pleasant by emptying the line so quickly with her fast-rapid cashier skills, a huge line disappeared in a matter of a minutes. The most nicest and skillfully elegant representative of this wonderful market

  • GKcoding Admin

Store is great and well kept. Lady on the counter now (Feb 28, 2022, 7:55pm) is very rude though. I dread being at her counter whenever she is there. Barely answers simple questions about missing products (which Nesters leaves notes about

  • JOSEPH LUSIGNAN

Stop to purchase a sandwich from their display at the meat & cheese shop, it's known that it's not offering any fresh foods sandwiches or casseroles at an astronomical prices not impressed, unless you are truly agasth, then care to a few

  • Brave At Heart

Their deli section honestly discriminates against vegetarians. Their salads used to have little containers of bacon so I could ask them to remove it, but bacon is now mixed into all of their salads. They used to have a nice vegetarian

  • Pyx Aramburo

Buy a prepacked salad and cherry toamtos taste like mud, most of greens were bad, prices are avegare high for organic market so you expect quality here. Service is always nice tho. But many of groseries are old or passed. Like Oat milk

  • denise trepanier

They are changing all the stock, always running out of items mid week, the only good thing about this store is the staff, and the prices are over the top.If I want to pay high prices I will go to urban fare or choices.Very poorly managed

  • Erik P

The store is clean and bright, good selection of product for the size and location. Not always the best prices but well worth the added cost for the convenience of the location. The staff is usually very friendly and helpful.

  • Melissa M

It's conveniently located to grab various items however I find the selection limited and the precut fruit and veggies have never been good, I've tried a few times. They are either underripe (fruit) or rotting (veggies).

  • Sofia Mathis

One of the few supermarkets in downtown, but also one of the best. I go here for almost all of my groceries and I can't complain. It's clean and has everything I need. I just wish they stocked up more on certain items.

  • Kathy C

Expensive and I way prefer IGA down the street. This is right across the street from me but I don't think I will be shopping here much. Your older caucasian brunette female cashier needs an attitude check, yikes.

  • CharliePSMusic

Huge thank you to Tyler and the rest of the team at the deli today for accommodating my sandwich order after I ordered the wrong kind and they were so understanding about making me some new ones. Thank you all!

  • Waira Mendoza Angle

My regular spot for grocery shopping as I live just a half block away. Typical expensive Nester's prices. Helpful staff, good produce and a large selection off anything you need for dinner, deli or household.

  • Aman Manglik

Do not buy cooked/perishable food from here. I found salad containers with stacked labels with packed date and best by date advanced by a whole week selling after the best by date of the original sticker

  • I Hernandez

Clean market with lots of good quality products. They are more expensive than in the suburban areas but they are great quality. They have same-day bread and a wide variety of products. Great staff too

  • Vincent Lee

Love the location. Staff are great. Great deli department. Unfortunately, you have to check your receipt because sometimes when they ring it through it's a different price. It happened twice to me.

  • Tom Collett

Wonderful selection of fresh sandwiches and salads to choose from for a packed lunch. Also filled with the usual contents of a good market. Wish we had more independent places like this in the UK.

  • Alarica Fernandes

Prices can be crazy but decent produce selection, precooked foods and bakery. Has a fresh seafood section as well as gluten-free and vegan products. Accessible entrance/exit.

  • Chris El

Go anywhere else!! Urban Fare prices with Safeway quality. The Seymour store has a bad rat problem - the bread bags are full of nibbled holes and there are traps everywhere.

  • Elizabeth Van Beethoven

Selection is minimal. Products are extremely overpriced. Staff act like jail guards. I prefer shopping@ stores who's employees keep their noses out of my butt, thank-you.

  • Andrea Tate

They usually have what I need to find, but it’s sooo expensive to shop downtown. I only grab things here when I really need a quick item and not for a full grocery shop.

  • Tim Riediger

I love my local Nesters Market. Very friendly staff. And everything is very affordable. Yes I enjoy my shopping there, and I go there practically every day.

  • Violet

This store is selling rotten food! I bought a bag of mini cucumber on Aug 8 and it was packedon Jul 21, which is 18 days ago! The cucumbers are just rotten.

  • Юлия Киселева

Nearest store to my home... and I like it very much. You can find all that you need. And their prices are nice. Cheese cake is my favorite …

  • Kristi P

Love Nesters. A little on the steep side price wise, but they have an amazing selection for those with special dietary needs. This store is the best!

  • Sonny M

It's a cute little grocery store that has a bit of everything it's a little pricey for my taste but competitive prices still

  • Neil Lewis

Good quality cooked food and amazing grocery items . Would certainly recommend and utilise the store again in the future.

  • Bubbles Princess

Selection of product is OK, it’s the staff that really need an attitude check. It’s 930 AM I’m just trying to buy cheese

  • Max

Expensive and limited stuff with not a very friendly staff . Everyone looks depressed working in that store.

  • Mahsa Adib

I shop here often and have been very happy with their products. Friendly staff and a great management.
