Here is a bakery, everything is good taste and quality. But there is a woman who is on special Fridays on Friday April 16, 2021. She always answers that there are no sugary donuts. I expected to buy 10 boxes today, and it is always like that there are never donuts when she is there. she always all angry. aqui esta panaderia, todo esta bien sabor y calidad. pero hay una mujer que esta los viernes especial las viernes abril 16 2021. que contesta siempre que no hay donas azucaradas. yo esperaba comprar 10 cajas hoy., y siempre es asi nunca hay donas cuando esta ella. siempre toda enojada.

I am a big fan on Norma's bakery in Kenner and since this location is closer to home, I thought it would be good to try it out. I went in there with my husband and bought five guava pastries and 5 meat pies. When I bit into the meat pie, there was a piece of wire inside. Not only that, but the little bit we are of the guava and meat made us very sick right after, both of us ended up with the biggest stomach ache. I already told the owner of the bakery about it but I will never ever in my wildest dreams go back.

I knew this place was going to be legit when no one spoke English. Crème filled pastries were *chef kiss*. They were out of empanadas so I tried the pollo pastel and it was so delicious. Carne asada tacos were a bit dry, but the hand made tortillas made it worth while. Horchata had a guava tang to it. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich, and it was the star of the show. So delicious. So crispy. So full. I want to try a plate lunch next time.

I recently bought instant noodles over at Normas in New Orleans, and the expiration date said it expired in December of 2018. At first I said it wasn’t an issue since Ramen doesn’t expire, but rather a best used before date, but then I found that it had gnats and other insects in it. Definitely would not recommend going there for anything given how basic products like that aren’t given any care for, imagine their bakery.

I eat lunch here often. Don't let the bakery name lead you to believe that is all they do. It's a hot lunch, grocery store, and bakery kind of place. The business is Spanish owned and Spanish is the language spoken. I don't speak Spanish. It matters not because we figure things out. REAL and authentic food that tastes fresh, is fresh, and has never disappointed me. I would recommend this spot to anyone.

I've been a customer for years . the last 3 visits over several months time they have sold less than edible chicharrones, fried pork skins . we live couple hours away otherwise would want a refund for this nasty product. now in Spanish, Las ultimas 3 visitas nos Han vendido una porqueria de chicharrones, duros y talludos, verguenza Las deberia Dar vender un producto de mala calidad. .

This place is not just a bakery, it has an amazing hot meal counter as well. One of the BEST Cuban sandwiches we’ve ever had. The tender pork inside the perfectly pressed crunchy bread blanketed in cheese was just scrumptious. We also had a delicious carne with potatoes and carrots. Tres Leches to balance it all out. Owner was friendly and happy to talk to us.

They need to stop being so cheap and give you the empanadas chicken/beef separately instead of puting a hole in our food ! Also, the bathroom is see through ! No privacy whatsoever . I don't think I'm coming back.... I posted a picture that I found on the internet of the way it looks when you are inside the bathroom.... What were they thinking

I’m not sure if they changed the baker or what happen but the cakes they once sold that were the best at not so much anymore. I’ve had several cakes in the past 3-4 months and quality is not great at all very rough course texture not at all soft and moist how the once were very sad! Used to be the best cake in the city not sure what happen

Norma's is a Latin grocery and bakery, as well as a counter service restaurant. Their variety of groceries is great, they include Latin standards as well as produce and meat. The bakery is great: breads, pastries, cakes, and tres leches. It may help to know some Spanish but no big deal.

  • Katie Carter

I love Norma's! They have the best baleadas in town. Their service is great, the store is always clean and well stocked, and the food is delicious. They speak both English and Spanish, so don't let a fear of language barrier scare you away from going there. You will not regret it.

  • Edison Coronado

This place is small, however it seems to have Everything you need from grocery to food. Day prepare one of the best baleadas I have tried..and the prices are reasonable. They also have a public restrooms Which I find to be convenient in a place that serves food

  • MONIQUE PICKETT

I had the Cuban sandwich is was enjoyable. I don't speak Spanish and didn't realize staff only spoke Spanish so I couldn't order things I wanted to try due to them not knowing English and me not knowing Spanish. It was disappointing …

  • HEYSI FUENTES

This is a GEM in mid-city!! If you are looking for good Spanish comfort food, this is your spot! Don't let the name fool you. Not only do they bake daily, but also serve daily hot breakfast and lunches. The Cuban is the BEST in town.

  • Thomas Aussem

The food from the hot case is always wonderful and authentic. I don’t speak any Spanish but everyone is very kind and patient with me while I stumble through my order. The Cuban sandwich is amazing as well as the breakfast burritos.

  • Ashleigh Sosa

I love their "breads" on their hot meals menu. They also have great white plate lunches. Also super affordable! This is automatic central American and cuban food. Its not like typical American Mexican restaurant food.

  • priyanka sauda

Why they do not have correct closing time for Sunday, i ordered cake fir friends birthday cane to pick up at 5.30 pm after work its close. And they agreed that store will remain open by that time..... BS

You will not find a better Cuban Sandwich anywhere in Louisiana! Fresh, hot, tasty and oh so bad for you lol I recommend you eat here everyday of the week! You will not be disappointed

  • Colt Stubbs

Best Cuban sandwich in the country, at least that I've had anyway. The meatpies are also delicious, not a traditional Southern Louisiana meatpie per se, but very good nonetheless.

  • That Guy

Friendly place, and our go to for Latin groceries. Great Christmas Tamales and ceviche (when they have it). Great place to practice your Spanish, with their helpful, happy staff.

  • Janise Avila
