June 10, 2023 Old Mill - Dining and Dancing Series - Disco Night . We were 10 couples who paid $30 each to reserve seating for this event, plus paid parking plus A La Carte Dinner Menu. Our reservations were for 6:30pm, which we were seated promptly. When seated we asked our server for separate billing. We were informed that it could not be done and it would be one bill. We again asked again for separate billing. Our sever inquired with the manager and informed us that they would do 3 separate billings. We asked for our group of 4 couples to be on one bill and the remaining group placed on the remaining two bills. They were fine with that. We placed drink orders and they also took our appetizer orders. Time went by, we were getting hungry and no appetizers had appeared. When we inquired, a new server stated that she was taking our appetizer and food order. I mention to her that we already placed our appetizer order when we placed drink orders. She stated, "yea something happen with it so I am taking appetizer and food order again". It's now 8pm, no food has arrived and the band started playing. A few of us got up to dance. Upon noticing that food was arriving at our table, we went and sat down. Shortly after my appetizer arrived. They brought out the plates, holding it with a cloth stating the plate was hot. Upon touching the plate, it was only warm and when tasting the appetizer, it was lukewarm. At 8;30 pm our main course finally arrived, again same as with the appetizer, severed stated plates are hot. Plates warm, food lukewarm. At this point I asked to speak to the manager. A young lady came to speak to me, asking what my problem was. I informed her of how our appetizer and main meal was not hot, only lukewarm. She told me it was impossible, because she was in the kitchen and watched the chief plate the food and had it served. I replied that was impossible because the plates were not hot and neither was the food. She said that she would have the chief come speak to me. I replied with, "and what would he do"? We are hungry its past 8:30pm, If we sent the food back, it would take forever for it to be re heated and served. The only dish that was hot, was the penne pasta, which was one plate. Moving forward, I spoke to the manager twice regarding the lukewarm food, and nothing was done or offered. At the end of the evening when our bill came out, it was on one bill, divided into 10. We were told the amount to pay. No one saw the actual bill. We asked why it wasn't divided into 3 as they stated they would. We were told that they won't do it. That's it, no explanation on why they changed their minds. One of the people in our group asked the server if gratuity was added to the bill, and she said no. After much displeasure over how the billing was processed the 10 couples paid the amount we were told to pay. Once I received my receipt, we packed up and left with a very bitter, poor experience. Once home I look at my receipt and notice that a $192.00 tip had been added to the bill!!! We we were told that tip was not added to the final bill. And it was inquired several times, with, no, no tip added. Several couples added an additional tip. I did not. We always tip and the % depends on serves and food. We were so disappointed and unhappy with the whole evening. The worse was how everything was handled. Costumer service, well really there wasn't any. When we complained about the lukewarm food, they didn't even care. No offer of a discount or offering of other foods. The next day when other couples found out about that tip was already added to our bill, they called the Old Mill and spoke to a gentlemen, manager?? They request that their tip they added be removed and returned to them. The manager would not do it. In the end, he basically said he didn't care if we never return. I personally will never return there or recommend the Old Mill to anyone. The place is looking very tired and old, and the staff just don't care. Very sad!

A Delightful Journey Through Time and Taste Rating: ★★★★★ I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Old Mills Afternoon Tea, and I must say it was a truly delightful and memorable experience. This hidden gem transports you to a bygone era while tantalizing your taste buds with exquisite flavors. As I entered the quaint old mill, I was greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The interior was beautifully decorated with vintage furniture, floral patterns, and delicate china, creating a truly enchanting ambiance. The star of the show, of course, was the afternoon tea itself. Presented on a three-tiered stand, it was a feast for the eyes. Each tier showcased an array of delectable treats, perfectly arranged with precision and care. From delicate finger sandwiches with various fillings to freshly baked scones, everything was prepared with the utmost attention to detail. The sandwiches were a delightful assortment of flavors. The bread was soft and fresh, providing the perfect foundation for the fillings. The scones were simply divine – golden and buttery on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Accompanied by clotted cream and strawberry jam, they were the epitome of traditional English indulgence. The top tier showcased an assortment of mouthwatering pastries. Each one was a work of art, meticulously crafted and bursting with flavors. There was something to satisfy every sweet craving. Every bite was a symphony of taste, leaving me craving for more. To complement the afternoon tea, a wide selection of teas and were offered. The knowledgeable staff guided me through the menu, providing recommendations based on my preferences. Their passion for tea was evident, and each cup was brewed to perfection, enhancing the overall experience. What truly sets Old Mills Afternoon Tea apart is the impeccable service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, ensuring that every need was met with a smile. They took the time to answer any questions, adding a personal touch to the experience. In conclusion, Old Mills Afternoon Tea is a hidden gem that captures the essence of a bygone era. From the charming atmosphere to the exquisite flavors, every aspect is thoughtfully curated to create a truly enchanting experience. Whether you're a connoisseur of tea or simply looking for an escape from the modern world, this is a place that will transport you to a simpler, more elegant time. I wholeheartedly recommend Old Mills Afternoon Tea for an unforgettable journey through time and taste.

or >$500 US dollars per day this hotel primarily capitalizes on it’s location. Quaint with a curbside appeal. The rooms are very basic with minimal amenities. Pillows and hairdryers need updating. The entire place is just dark with poor lighting. Commode is in a corner and the door opens up into the eating/seating area. We ordered breakfast a couple of times and specified vegetarian omelette which came both times with just sautéed onions and we were told they were out of vegetables. So we just started ordering from Uber eats. On our last night (6th day), we took the chance of ordering dinner and was thoroughly disappointed. The owner needs to really address this. Incorrect menu in the room with the wrong QR code, drinks are not covered ( open to air) when delivered to the room, pasta was inedible, pizza was mediocre. Parking is across the the street in an underground area, no valet. Blind spots to get run over with traffic from both sides getting to the parking. I was traveling with my 72 year old mother. People working at the hotel are extremely pleasant and try their best to assist, however upper management really needs to re-evaluate and update current necessities or drop the prices.

Old Mill Toronto is a very cozy hotel. The atmosphere of the hotel is very nice. The rooms are nice and big (with a sitting area). Continental breakfast was included in our room rate but that was a disappointment. We received a tray in the room with some croissants. They had asked us the day before if we want coffee or tea, but we don't want that (we don't drink that). So we got no drink at all. An alternative (such as orange juice) would have been nice. The hotel is a little further from the center but Old Mill tube station is a 5-minute walk away. With the green metro line you can easily reach the center of the city. The hotel offers free covered parking. So that's definitely a plus. I would definitely stay here again.

I'm the event coordinator for a three day retreat at the Old Mill, and the seasoned, finely tuned staff at the Old Mill has my highest respect. From the unflappable Elaine to the highly organized Rita and her sales team, the talented and detail oriented Diana, not to mention the constantly multi tasking room captains Alex, Wilma and Dimitri who catered to every shifting, on the fly request, and not to forget my AV hero Shalin - I can't say enough good things about how this well oiled machine functions. The meals, btw, were on point, every single guest, no matter how outlandish their dietary restrictions, was fussed over and accommodated. Highly recommend for your next event. Hats off to the entire staff, front and back of house, who made me look really good.

Horrible! We arrived and checked in only to find out that everything was closed. The Spa ..closed..restaurant..closed..AND they were going to shut off the water the next day! Had they communicated this on their website or sent us an e mail we would have gone.elsewhere. now we paid their high rates for a wasted July 4th weekend and we had to scramble to find another place. The manager never called nor did they even apologize for their POOR management and lack of communication. Luckily we found the Glenerin Inn ..go there instead.

The hotel itself is nice, I chose it because I like quirky places, however, instead of feeling quirky and old school, it felt dated and the furniture like it smelled (it didn’t, it just looks like that lol) also, the fireplace didn’t work in our room which was a bummer. Staff was super not friendly. It wasn’t awful, just not worth the price point considering it’s 40 min away from downtown with nothing of interest nearby.

One of the hidden gem in city of Toronto where one needs to enjoy at least once. This venue is loaded with nature's beauty around and one can enjoy nice half day exploring it while have delicious food at the hotel. There are various spots to do photograph sessions if one interested. There are enough rooms to stay if planning for any event while there are few halls if want to enjoy private parties. The staff is well trained, efficient, prompt service and smiling courteous service. The parking is also enough and extra lots available nearby. Overall it's perfect venue to explore.

This is one of the oldest most Historic building still standing in Toronto, sadly everything else has been demolished, repaired or replaced. I've always enjoyed my visits here, weather it's for dinner, spa day, a wedding reception or just to spend some time in the courtyard. Every season the property is picturesque. My friend and I enjoyed a summer Salsa night out and dinner at the restaurant this time and everything was 11 out of 10. Sign up for their news letter which has details of their upcoming events and check The Old Mill out, it's warranted a visit.

Really cute hotel! Spacious, luxurious rooms. Nice bathroom. Friendly staff. A bit far from downtown Toronto but the metro station is close with a direct line towards downtown. Only one small thing: continental break was included in our rate, but just croissants served in the room is not a continental breakfast (also, if you don't order Coffee or tea, an orange juice would have been a nice alternative). Just a small side note, because this is a very nice hotel. Would stay here again.

A very clean and modern hotel rebuilt on the original old mill site. The location is great as you are next to the Humber River trails for biking or hiking. You even rent canoes and kayaks nearby. The Humber subway line is a short walk away so you can get downtown very quickly. The neighborhood is extremely nice as well. There is a beautiful garden in the courtyard as well as a wedding garden. I'm sure they host a lot of weddings there. We will definitely be back

Absolutely gorgeous Hotel located right at a subway stop in the west end of Toronto. If you want to stay at a hotel with its own personality, this is the best option in the city. The grounds are beautiful, green and airy with stone paths and steps. Perfectly maintained and well cared for gardens. Interiors with exposed stone and wooden beams. Thoughtfully decorated and meticulously cleaned.

The area is beautiful and you can definitely find ways to spend the whole day there, whether at the spa, the park or the restaurant. I love the atmosphere of the buildings, especially inside decor of the restaurant. The pricing is decent for an all you can eat brunch and the staff were very kind. A good place to go for dates or special occasions! My only dislike is the fact that there is no free parking, but if transit is fairly convenient

I went for high tea. The location and restaurant are beautiful. The service and food were great. We had one guest with several dietary restrictions and they were able to accommodate them. We gave advance notice and did not have to remind them. They made her comfortable and checked that all was well. The staff was attentive and kind.

Old school venue and a beautiful hotel not far out from downtown Toronto with plenty of meetingspaces. Good for a Friday night outing for a nice dinner date, drinks, see a band and go dancing. My go to entree is their taglitale bolognese, but also try the calamari and mushroom ravioli.

Beware if you are a visible minority!! Very confusing!! The hotel will sell you drinks, you are not allowed to drink them. Not sure if it was a race related issue. They should be more clear who can purchase, where you can consume your purchase. Put a damper on wedding reception I was attending here this weekend.

It was my first time going here for a wedding. The venue is amazing. It's a historic hotel with so much to see. The staff are very welcoming, and there are many great backdrops for photos. The hostess, waiter and server are professional. Especially the dessert chef gives us a special edible chocolate script written on the dessert and flower decoration on the plate to surprise our wedding anniversary. We enjoy very much during the afternoon tea. Thanks very much for your service.

Afternoon tea during Christmas season was very festive and fun. The room was expansive and nicely decorated for the season. Great selection of teas and presentation of the edibles was fresh and tasty. Had my granddaughter and friends with us and felt very comfortable at the table.
