"I liked how every single item in the store was sourced from Japan"
"First time visit, shortly after they opened"
"Was surprised about their over priced matcha green tea and other food goodies like ramens, seaweeds and chips that is way lesser from any other Asian groceries"
"The Dollar Equivalent store but with goods from Japan"
"This shop had big shoes to fill from all the hype I've heard for other shoppers"
I liked how every single item in the store was sourced from Japan. Whats greater it is not as expensive as one would think. Despite the exotic selection of our every day items, almost everything seemed affordable. My complain goes is that, this could have been so much more. I feel there was not enough variety in terms of the product line and did not have enough of the wow factor which I think shops like these go for. Then again the store just recently opened, so I am hoping there will be changes in the future. In particular I hope there will be more home decor items having that homely Japanese feeling.
First time visit, shortly after they opened. They have a nice selection of snacks and candies, serveware, beauty products like sheet masks, stationary, art supplies and other useful household items. Everything is $3.00 unless otherwise marked. Most products were marked at a higher price. Thought the snacks and candies were higher priced than what you'd find at Asian grocers or other Asian specialty shops. Hopefully the selection and prices will get better with time.
Was surprised about their over priced matcha green tea and other food goodies like ramens, seaweeds and chips that is way lesser from any other Asian groceries. There could be fascinating finds that you will see in here depending on what you’re looking for. But in my opinion, dollar stores has more variety and their products are comparable to what they sell, like their plastic wares, stickers, pens and many more.
The Dollar Equivalent store but with goods from Japan. Better quality but still items that are not meant to last. Grocery has a moderate selection with cooled/warmed beverages. Many items are overpriced in comparison to asian supermarkets. update: due to the below response i have adjusted from a 3 star to 4 star for the excellent customer service and engagement. looking forward to browse the stores aisles again
This shop had big shoes to fill from all the hype I've heard for other shoppers. This place may be exciting if you've never traveled to Asia. Thailand for instance. Not just that, if you came from a bigger city like Vancouver or Toronto, This place would be nothing special. But the biggest turn off here is the prices. The prices are rather taxed. This may be especially the case in the food section.
Japanese stuff with cheap prices and they're all cute They also sell like Korean and Chinese creams, masks, make up, accessories etc. I wish they have more snacks and drinks though. I'm not sure about the minimum price but if you reach whatever total price deal they have, you could get some of their items for the day for half the price. All items are final sale.
The store had a lot of interesting things. It was quite busy when I went because it was their grand opening weekend and the line up wound around the store! The line up to get in was long too! I had a nice time looking around but I was surprised that most of the prices started at $3 when I expected it to start at $2 like most of the Oomomo stores in Canada.
A unique store that specializes in 100s of useful, unusual or different products that are Japanese in origin and available at a $3 price point unless marked. There is stuff for the office, home, arts &crafts, food, beverages, decorative and kitsch. A lot of it is unavailable elsewhere. If at the St Vital Ctr, check it out!
Prices have gone up, but then again, everything has. Lots of cute stuff, though they didn't have the specific thing I was hoping to find. I do still enjoy going there to look around, though, and usually make time to stop in when I am at St Vital Mall.
Love the selection they offer and at a great price too. The experience and atmosphere was amazing and nothing like I've seen before in Winnipeg. The staff we are super friendly and helpful when i was shopping around the store.
A great place to shop for everyday items. Great selection for everything from snacks, beverages, beauty, kitchen, homeware, and craft items. It’s your local Japanese dollar store. Everything is $3 unless stated otherwise.
The only place in the city to get reasonably priced origami paper and stationery supplies. Unfortunately an undesirable location for me and closed because of covid. They have online shopping but nothing good on there.
Very cool selection of interesting Japanese items. Good prices, good service. Unfortunately pretty lacking in snacks. Store very clean and presentable. Well organised and large variety of products in many categories.
I really like the spicy seafood noodles cups but the prices have become too high to justify at 3.75 each 10 cuts would cost nearly 40$ I understand it's imported but it's too expensive if you plan to get multiples :(
First experience of shopping in Japanese mall. I love it..staff nice & helpful. Rates are reasonable most of the things @ 3$ have great collection of cute decorative utens, kichen essential, stationary, bath etc
A great place to find Japanese items like beauty and home products as well as food like Ramin and snacks. I absolutely love this place. The polo park location is alot bigger and even has a small restaurant.
For such a large store it's a pretty limited selection. It's the same stuff you'd find in a ¥100 shop so the base price of $3 is a bit much for some things, and the novelty doesn't really make up for it.
really cheap! and i bought a ramune and compared to prices at showcase this was rlly good it was 2.50 i think ? but at showcase it was 6-9$ or something ! the workers were really sweet aswell’
The staff is super friendly and there is a wide variety of things to see, food items, drinks, art supplies, tableware... And on and on. Going to make my way over to the store in St. James!
So many great items, I picked up a silicone moisturizing face mask for $3! Some fruit drops! Velvet hangers for my jewelry! I love this place! Plus* everything I bought was $4 or less!
Such a fun store. Lots of great products you can't find anywhere else. Lots of great products you never knew you needed. Best selection of chopsticks in Winnipeg.
Such a great fun store. Like a huge dollar store with a bit of everything with asian twist. Love seeing and trying the new snacks and beauty products.
It's a well kept asian dollar store, that sells unique and cute items for less. I gave it a 4 star as I couldn't find what I was looking for.
Smaller than the St James location but slightly different stock. No cafe. Found a few things I wanted that only this location had.
NEVER BUY IN THIS STORE AGAIN!!!!! Staff gave me the wrong product, they REFUSE to let me exchange nor refund TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!!
Good stuff, I go there to buy romand products. I have bought a couple lipsticks and snack here. The staff are nice too!
The best place for Japanese goods in Winnipeg. There's always something I want to buy whenever I visit.
I live how yoy can experience Japanese culture in your own city. Live the food and items you can buy!
Love this store. Everything is $3.00 here. Tons of everyday things you need. Mostly good stuff.
Neat Japanese dollar store, unique and cool items you won't find anywhere else. Good prices.
Have been in multiple times but have only bought an item once. Lots of selection.
Really cool stuff. Great place to browse. You will never know what you'll find.
