Bizarre experience. To preface, I have a different dentist that I usually see but I had to have an appointment last minute. This was the first, and likely the last, time visiting this clinic. The pros are that the office was able to take me on the same day, and the service I required was completed. The negative is that the dentist (Dr. Sam?) was a salesman first, a medical professional second. After the wire glue I required was competed, the dentist began a teeth cleaning, saying that "while you're here we've got to do this" without asking me first if that was okay. The cleaning only took place for a short amount of time but it was the most painful cleaning I have ever received, despite going on an annual basis for several years. The dentist then recommended that I have a cleaning done (despite having had one within the last few months), and that we could do freezing. It seems like the brief painful cleaning was done in order to sell me on a cleaning at their clinic, with the additional cost of freezing. Then the dentist recommended we take X-rays, as there are shadows on some fillings, which he said "it doesn't look good" (a comment I find inappropriate from a medical professional). In contrast, the dentist I normally see has told me that we are keeping an eye on these shadows, and that we will continue taking X-rays on the regular basis (every x amount of years). It is also normal practice for a dentist to ask a new patient for any of their previous X-rays which are still considered valid, as opposed to recommending X-rays be done without even asking when was the last time the patient had an X-ray. In the end, the service which normally costs 80-90$ cost me 160$ due to an additional emergency fee. I appreciate being taken on short notice but I feel that it is dishonest to not disclose an emergency fee at the time of booking the appointment. It only further added to my impression that this clinic is primarily interested in lining their pockets. I do not recommend this dental clinic, and if anyone is regularly going to Dr. Sam I recommend they seek a second opinion for fear of treatments recommended which the patient does not truly need.

I am a fairly new patient (August 2023) at OWD but I cannot say enough about it. I went there with a lot of work to be done that I had been putting off because I was unhappy with my former dentist. Dr. Sam has restored my trust and he is exceptionally professional and caring. The dental assistants, hygienists and support staff are so welcoming, understanding and will do whatever they can to help. The treatment coordinator Cindy...well I cannot say enough about her. She is also very professional and caring. You can tell that the culture off this office starts at the top. It is open, warm and inviting. There is fun banter back and forth between staff and you can tell they really enjoy their jobs. When you go there it's like you're hanging out with friends. That is a hard to find in any business. They really do put their staff and patients needs at the forefront of their priorities. I care how staff are treated, it's very telling. Thank you OWD, I can't believe I am saying this but I can't wait to see you again!

The doctor we met was generally good, he referred us to just4kids because he doesn't have license to use Nitrous Oxide to kids. He advised a filling as the treatment. (we were not asked to do x-rays) After we had an exam & x-ray with Just4kids who advised to do tooth extraction, we came to Ottawa West Dental for 2nd opinion, the doctor told us the x-ray is not clear enough, and asked us to follow what Just4kidz suggested (i.e. tooth extraction and general anesthetics). So we went to a different clinic for a 3rd opinion, the dentist explained to me why some dentists suggested filling, and the other suggested extraction, however she did say that the x-ray is quite clear to see what is happening. Based on the fact that the dentist in Ottawa west dental suggested a filling without a x-ray, and changed his mind after looking at the x-ray and complained the x-ray was not clear. I'm giving a 2 stars. Hope my experience helps.

Dr Sam was very reasonable, great personality extremely personable & as I am a single parent,that needed a very expensive treatment not covered, his pricing was affordable & worth it. during the procedure that my tooth implant was put in, he made sure I was comfortable, took his time trying to help calm my anxiety down, and once he started I was honestly suprised on how painless it was. Very gentle very caring and affordable! If you’re getting a big procedure and you worry about pain or discomfort even needles, go see dr Sam! He won’t even let u see the needle ☺️ great dentist! Also the staff are all great, good sense of humours and a great team that are all caring & will answer all your questions leaving no secretes or suprises, they’re upfront from the beginning:) I don’t usually write reviews but they deserve more then 5 stars!!

most pain i have felt in my life since i was a child Asked the dentist (the owner) for gas or sedation. He said he is the gas! I will not feel any pain. I told him i was traumatized as child at a dentist in old Yugoslavia (you had to bribe the dentist or they would not give you local injection) I tried to explain thanx to those past events that i am horrible afraid of dentist and did not go to one for like 20 years. The owner/dentist kept telling me it will all be fine and will not feel much pain at all. 7 injections later and 1.5 hours of crying they stooped doing my root canal and said he can not do it and sent me somewhere else for sedation. Now the other dentist said "of course the injections would not work , you had infection, that has to clear first" Caveat emptor

I cannot tell you enough how I was so afraid of all dental places, I've had the worst experiences in my life which has caused me to be extremely scared ...... I can't tell you how happy I am with this place, and these proffesionals. I feel here i am taken care of to the utmost. Mrs dentist Hannah Kashyap was the most kind most caring most softest on my dental pain , I can't explain .They all made me feel calm and relaxed as soon as I came in. Ms. Otesha the dental right hand woman was the most amazing assistant and personally made my experience the absolute best possible I'm so very thankful and recommend this place and these awesome women to help anybody that needs delicate care. Thank you so much I can't thank you enough.

I was originally at another dentist which I had gone to since I was a kid. After having to reschedule my appointment there, they proceeded to put me on a wait list in which I didn’t get a call to until 4 months later. I explained my situation to the dental clinic (it was convenient for me because I lived next door) and they got me in right away with no headaches! Not to mention, the dentist who did my examination was extremely thorough and provided me with very knowledgeable feedback on my dental health. They are very advanced in new dental technology as well, which makes your visit quick and painless. I’ve been there a couple times now and I would not go anywhere else other than Ottawa West Dental

The care that was taken by the office for the complications from COVID-19 were assuring. All equipment needed is in each room. I am naturally not fond of dentists to start with and am extremely cautious because of COVID-19. The assistant made me feel comfortable. The dentist was patient and took the time to explain everything. The worst part of the experience was the taste of the topical freezing. They waited long enough for it to take effect so I didn't feel the needle for the local freezing. They put enough freezing so I didn't feel anything but pressure during the extraction. They were done before I realised it. They made me feel liked they cared for my physical and mental wellbeing.

Very impressed just as expected. I chose Ottawa west because of the reviews , all 5 stars, and was not disappointed. What stood out for me was the attention to details right from the intake forms to the oral exam. The exam was literally what it was, full detailed exam, unlike other dental offices I’ve been to. The doctor was kind and friendly and did not attempt pushing unnecessary procedures too. The dental assistant was awesome!!!Everyone was professional and welcoming right from the reception. I just had to type this epistle because I’m impressed. Thanks for the experience, that’s what makes you different and preferred!

Ottawa West Dental is amazing. From the ease of booking an appointment to the explanation of how best to treat me to actually treating me. The Dental is clean, the receptionists are nice and helpful and the dentists are very experienced. I've been to many dentists before and all of them either made my teeth worse or caused me more pain then I was already in. But the dentists at Ottawa West Dental did not cause me any pain. They also created a follow up plan for me to never go through the pain I went through previously. These dentists truly care about you and I would recommend them to everyone.

Dr. Wessam is an outstanding dentist who truly cares about his patients. He is knowledgeable, patient, gentle, and always takes the time to explain any procedures or treatments thoroughly. My dental hygienist greeted me at the door when it was time to complete the COVID screening. Then I had dental x-rays in a separate room and the mouth piece was covered in plastic. The work stations were all partitioned with heavy plastic so it felt more private and I think there was an air purifier on the floor. It was very cool so I could have used a sweater. My hygienist explained how things were going to go so no surprises and that was appreciated. I felt completely safe and secure for my appointment and it felt great to get me teeth cleaned after 9 months!

Had such a fantastic experience there! The staff was very friendly, the nurses were always smiling and above all Dr. Horrigan was amazing. She was very smooth in handling the fillings for two of my cavities and was very thorough in explaining what she was doing. She gave me full background on my case and suggested several alternatives. The filling was fantastic, one of the very few that I did and didn't have any issues with sensitivity right after. 100% recommend Dr Horrigan

I had a lovely visit at Ottawa Dental Clinic. It was my first time visiting a dentist in Canada, and Cindy and the dentist were so kind and supportive. Everyone makes me feel so welcome and answer all of my questions/ concerns. I’m very excited to work with the dentist to improve my dental health ☺️ To anyone who’s looking for a dentist in Ottawa area, I would highly recommend this place. Reasonable price and lovely customer service. Honestly nothing to complain!

Dr. Sam and his staff were wonderful. From the time I walked in the door until I left, I was treated with respect and compassion. They all did their best to alleviate my fears and answer my questions. I never felt rushed or pressured. I’m quite anxious when it comes to dentistry but found my visit quite refreshing. Very happy with my teeth cleaning today with Victoria. I have been going to the dentist every 6 months for as long as I can remember. She took time to explain things to me that others never have (like why they have asked me to move my tongue around - simple, but never been told). She made sure I was comfortable and was gentle with my mouth and face. Very pleasant the entire time. Thank you for a smooth morning!

Excellent, friendly staff! I have had very bad experiences with dentists in the past and have avoided going for the past 7 years but the hygienist, dentist and dental assistant were all amazing and gentle and kind. It was the first time that I have had a really positive experience at the dentist. The cleaning was great and everyone was so helpful. Thanks for making a stressful experience an amazing one!

My experience at my dental appointment could not have been better. Staff were extremely friendly, from the moment I arrived, to the moment I was leaving. I find dental work to be a little traumatic, considering I have a bad gagging problem. The staff were very understanding of my problem and were patient with me, getting me to relax. I have had horrible experiences in the past at other clinics but this place has made it a wonderful experience! Slowly losing my fear of dental clinics everytime I visit because it has always been very positive here from the start! Rachel did a great job on my teeth cleaning. Very gentle and thorough which I greatly appreciated. Jennifer Charbonneau is an excellent dentist and will not accept any dental work she does until it is PERFECT... Karen Wellman has been a friend for over 35 years and is a friendly receptionist. All good people. Positive experience with every aspect of my visit.

The staff here is very friendly and accomodating. I don't like going to the dentist but they provide a Great experience. I have a bad gag reflex and Kristen is so patient and thorough during my teeth cleanings. Dr Kashyap is also great and took the time to explain in detail about my dental health and alleviated the concerns i had. Would highly recommend!

Thank you to Dr Denardo for litening to me. Freezing has never worked for me and all dentists thought I was making it up and proceeded to work on my teeth while I was still in pain. Dr Denardo tried a different approach to freezing and for the first time I felt no pain. For the first time in my long life i felt heard by a dentitst. Thank You Dr.!!

The staff were all warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in to the time you walk out. Rachel was my X-ray technician and she was phenomenal! My hygienist was Corinne and she was wonderful, always asking if I’am ok and making sure I’am comfortable. Dr. Kashup was sweet, kind and very gentle. All kind souls here, highly recommend!

I had my feelings done with Dr Kashyap. First I didn’t even feel the needle, her hand is so light. Second she was explaining everything before, during and after the procedure. Third I came home and my mouth felt normal like I didn’t have any feelings done. Forth I wish I can give her more than 5 Stars Great work

The dental hygienist greeted me in a friendly professional manner and escorted me in. She was pleasant and turned to speak directly to me when asking questions or giving directions. Friendly admin. staff/ dentist and technicians. Very proficient dentist and always feel confident in the completed work.

Extremely pleased with visit. Dental techs and support staff are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Dentist never suggests work that isn’t necessary and offers appropriate options for care and treatment. Office space is kept very clean/sanitized.

I was left sitting in the chair for 45 minutes with my anxiety increasing every minute. By the time the dentist decided it was my turn, my anxiety was uncontrollable. The dentist yelled "relax" in my face, but surprisingly this did not help. I left.

Great place. Have had my dentist since my daughter was 5 years old and now she takes her 5 year old son. Dr Davidson is wonderful with adults and children and my hygienist is the best. Highly recommend both. I have beautiful teeth thanks to them.

I had my dentist for over 18 years. Very qualified and competent. After his retirement. Luckily I was referred here and I find Dr. Jennifer Charbonneau equally competent and qualified. I am really happy that I joined here.

I can't believe the amazing service I received. Everyone from the receptionist to the dentist was so friendly and made me feel very comfortable. They took their time to answer my questions and concerns. I highly recomend.

The service is great, very nice and friendly staff. My problem is the continued increase in fees. I paid $125 a year ago (march 2022) for a cleaning now I had to pay $213 for the same service. A 75% increase in one year.

I was having a procedure that I was very nervous about. They reassured me that everything would be good and not to worry. The procedure was basically painless and much quicker than I expected. Great group of people.

My husband and I have been patients at this dental practice for the last 40 years. The service has always been superb, starting with Karen at the front desk and Rachel my hygienist and especially Dr Charbonneau!
