I love Paul Kane park , just as much today as I probably loved it so many decades ago. Today for different reasons for sure , like as a kid we didn't have spray parks . Nope they were called wading pools yup , you just laid in roughly bathtub deep water and you were enjoying the beautiful weather or how it was great to go outside play . This goes along with how much I truly love reminiscing the hidden treasures this beautiful city I grew up in . The park is in the Oliver community , and because I do have some early childhood memories. These days there's no wading , which is fine . A discussion by the powers in charge converted the pool to live plants and this is a beautiful choice , regardless I still find a quiet walk in the evening or a pause to appreciate the beautiful tranquility nature has in the downtown. You want to read a sit with friends and catch up I've always found it a stop I like making . There is a church and history that have a connection to this place , I hadn't taken enough time or insight . Therefore I will opt not to share this info . To your chance of going , it being so close to 124street another hidden treasure of Edmonton with many restaurants and shopping ❤️

The perfect park! The city planners got this one right! It is nestled just north of 102 Avenue and it is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the day. There are amble benches available that are large seats, there are walking paths that loop around the park and in the centre of it all is a man made pond that the city fills every year, and this year there are a few families of Canadian Geese and ducks that have decided to raise their young and you can see them waddling and swimming around the park. There is a fountain that feeds into the pond that gives off the perfect running water sounds that just makes the entire place feel serene. There is plenty of grassy knolls and trees and shrubs dotting the area that truly makes the park a special place to visit if you’re in the area. It is very common to see quite a few people there hanging out, reading, having lunch/coffee, at all hours of the day. The park is very close a couple coffee shops and bakeries so it is very convenient to grab a snack of some kind and stop in at the park to enjoy both the snack and the view.

The best park in the downtown core very vibrant with lots of people age range from young families early 20 yr. Olds to early to late 30's young 40 y.olds great for tanning reading feeding the geese and ducks to just meeting up with friends on a hot day an chilling in the sun Great water features Nice to hear the sounds if running water lots of greenscapes to surround you and fresh and crisp smells to take in. The only downside is try to get here early to find a spot of grass or an area at this park because it fills up quickly.

Love this park. It’s undergone a massive renovation in recent years. It’s user friendly and for a smaller park it is well designed. The park is clean and has lots of green space to put down a blanket and have a picnic. The water feature is beautiful and has a small waterfall and stream to the pond. Been here a few times and have always enjoyed the ambiance and and the relaxing atmosphere. This is during the summer of course, obviously not much happening in the winter time. Make sure you come here when it’s wam and you will definitely enjoy it.

The pond is great, though be sure to bring bug repellent in the evenings! I highly recommend standing in the shallow "creek" that runs down from the fountain/water feature on warm days. Occassionally musicians stop in the park to play, so keep your eyes open for that! There are many trees to sit under, the grass gets soft enough to be comfortable around mid June. Some marsh birds call this pond a home during the summer time, so sometimes it feels like a space outside of the city thanks to the birdsong.

An Oasis of quiet in the downtown area. Please use your musical instruments somewhere else please and thanks. You can sit in the grass or one of the many available seating areas. My cohort and I sat and had a late lunch after moving her into the neighborhood. Then you are about 200 metres away from the ravine system in the river valley Groat Road area. Great photos available there assuming you like raw nature pix.

Friendly looking people... a different downtown environment compared to what I've seen before. I didn't feel like people are about to stab me... people long boarding, families biking, scooters, ice cream
Dog-friendliness
People walking their dogs
Picnic area
Picnic tables and benches. Grass is clean. I see people bringing their food and eating at the park

Beautiful park space with lots of room to spread out. The water feature is really beautiful and there is a good mix of sun and shade on summer days. Please don’t bother the ducks and geese when visiting, and make sure you pick up after yourselves! (I would recommend a blanket to set on for the shady areas. Some of the trees she needles that are a little prickly)

  • Shelly Wingrove

Really quite a beautiful little outdoor sanctuary amidst the concrete jungle better known as downtown. Man made pond with a running water fall and lily pads to boot. Plenty of benches and picnic area to relax with a good book or take my dog for a nice stroll. There is even a spot to donate food bank items which I thought was nice.

  • Chantell Micklos

This is one of those parks people enjoy quietly when they need to catch up on some "me" time or for when they need a cozy place to relax. I often find myself catching up on my assignments while enjoying the nice scenery. There is a pond with ducks and geese and plenty of singing birds that make the experience very calming.

  • Donna Gee

Didn't know this space existed. I stopped at Ironclast for a coffee with a friend and found it. While we were there we could see many people enjoying the space, and we were serenaded by a fellow playing his soprano saxophone. It was a really enjoyable space, I pinned it so I could go back …

Paul Kane Park is probably my favourite urban park in Edmonton. Lots of grass areas. Lots of seating. Ducks and geese on the pond. Good place to stop for a rest during a bike ride. Good place to take your dog for a walk, if you have a dog. Located between 121 St & 122 St, 102 Ave & 103 Ave.

  • Hector L. Campos

Delightful place, designed for quiet time, meditation, relaxing and just being. Small picnic venue for some delicate treats from a splendid local bakery and cafe called Brio just a block or so away. Nice personal and communal gardens and area ️ …

  • Kate Macaroni

This park is an oasis hidden in the middle of downtown. It has a lot of places to spread a picnic blanket or yoga mat, some benches and a lovely water feature! If you're looking for somewhere to go for a dog walk or to soak in some sun, I recommend Paul Kane Park!

  • MrE2u

I have lived in the Oliver area for over 40 years. Paul Kane Park has changed a lot over the years. When I bought my house, which is a few doors away from the park, the realtor told me the area was mostly seniors. At that time the park was

  • Godsunique Thompson

Wow! Until I randomly passed by this area, I did not know that the environment is that beautiful, and there is a place like this. Yes, it is not big, but it can add more happiness to those who love nature . I love ❤ it. …

  • Abdo El Mawla

I would say within these days it should be called ADULTS park lol no place for kids to play although there is nice water fountain kids would enjoy it. ADULTS drink alcohol in this park Iblive going there nice vibe …

  • Waller, Ophelia

Fun for kids for a little while. Good place for a family picnic with dogs. The water feature is beautiful but unusable, which isn't an issue, but It could be replaced by something more practical or family friendly.

  • Maya Rash Gupta

This is a beautiful spot with a lovely water feature and lots of spaces to sit and enjoy. There were baby ducks when we were there and the kids LOVED watching them swim around. FYI there is no play structure.

  • Matthew de Groot

Really pretty little park with large mature trees and a nice water feature for kids and dogs to play in. Lots of green space to relax on and some tables in one corner too. Plus you can drink at this park!

  • Cassandra Tomas

I've been meeting friends here for socially distant hangouts. It's a very pretty park! Lots of parking, and many restaurants nearby for curbside pickup, after which we return to the park for our picnic.

  • Amanda H.

Paul Kane Park needs your help, the ducklings have been born and are getting attacked by people's dogs. Nature is metal enough - control your kids and animals while they fatten up and learn to fly.

  • L SR

This is really a nice park, it is small but the lake is awesome and looking at the ducklings is a lot of fun. There are also plenty of spaces to sit or lay on the grass. Definitely worth a trip.

  • Sandy Lee

A nice park in the middle of the city with seating and a water feature. It has some nice trees for shade too. Parking in the area is also abundant, 2 hour limit though from Monday to Saturday.

  • Shane Reid

Beautiful little park, well cared for and a nice place to just relax a little. Some grass areas are a little bare due to a large amount of human traffic, but otherwise still very pleasant.

  • Patrick Crosman

Excellent public space to have a socially distant hang with friends. We brought a propane fueled fire and even though it's totally legal, the fire department was called on twice. Twice!

  • Shil

It's a beautiful park, you can spend the evening here sitting at the bench or take walk. Looking at the water is really soothing, I used to visit this place when I was staying at 119St.

  • GiantSnail

Cute little park in the middle of the city. There is a decorative water feature in the middle of the park. Nice to have a little patch of green space in the heart of the city.

  • Gemini Fire

Nice to see all the maskless happy smiling families. Beautiful little buds and green grass with a duck or 2 was well worth the 12 min drive from my house you enjoy.

  • Jeremy Nickurak

Lovely little quiet green space with water features. Quiet, calm, cool, and lots of seating to relax - maybe with some appropriately socially distanced friends.

  • Darryl Molloy

Such a beautiful part of the city which remains relatively unknown. It's next to some great coffee shops and restaurants which always makes for a great visit.

  • ISvyd

Маленький, але надзвичайно гарний цікавий парк. Є невеличкий штучний струмок, чудовий острівець. Цікаве несподіване відкриття, дуже раджу для відвідування.

  • Kiara Doerksen

This park is great and all, but they could really work on chipping away at ice and putting sand down within the park and not just the sidewalks around it.

  • M J

A jewel in Oliver! Even in the winter time is lovely, but in the summer time ...when they have live music and people just enjoy the outdoors is amazing!

  • Joel Szydlowski
