So normally I always shop at Petsmart. The stores in Layton and Centerville are clean, friendly, well stocked, pet friendly and wonderful customer service . Also wonderful sales. Well I decided to shake things up and go to this location in SLC. Let’s just say it was sub par at best. First the location is hard to get to. Second the shelves were not well stocked and limited selection. Third they are not pet friendly. They did not great my dog when I came and when I asked for a dish of water for my fur baby they wouldn’t help me. Other stores have dog dishes of fresh water for thirsty dogs but not this store. The lady told me to go buy my own water bowl. Fourth there was zero customer service. I needed help with food selection and nobody came to help me or give me advice. I was left deciding on my own. Fifth some stores have clearance items like this store did. But those stores never sell expired products. Heads up this store does. All the clearance food is pst date and can get your fur baby sick. Sixth some canned foods there have rust on them! Would you feed your pooch that food? Seventh the girls working there were not friendly. One was decked out like a Goth queen and the other one interrupted me when I tried to talk to her. She said very rude words and made me feel uncomfortable. The only good thing was the male manager on duty price matched three cans of food I needed. As the other stores were out. So he was kind and caring. Other than that the store is no dice. I will keep going to the Layton and Centerville stores rather than here. This store can be great again if they train their employees better, have it stocked, don’t sell spoiled food, don’t sell rusted food cans, be pet friendly, have better customer service, have professional employees, keep the store clean and be nice to our fur babies. I wish them all the best.

I booked an appointment weeks ago to have my dog groomed, using a profile that we made of her when she took her puppy classes. Nowhere in the booking process did they disclose that her weight needed to be updated as a part of the booking procedure, so the thought never crossed my mind that it'd just automatically assume the weight we had her at for her puppy training. Well, only 2 hours before the appointment, they decided to call me and cancel stating that the groomer she was assigned to could only do dogs up to 40lbs (our dog weighs 45 now). They had weeks to tell me this so I could reschedule if I needed to, but after I'd already taken time off of work to make this appointment, they just tell me they can't help. Every other groomer in town is booked a month out, and our dog is very hairy. She needs the trims so she can see and stay hygienic. I wouldn't even be upset if they had given me even a single day's notice so I could at least get my time off back for another date. I suppose I dodged a bullet, since I read about the dog being crushed to death on one of PetSmart's tables. Very unprofessional of them. I won't be taking my dog there in the future. Go support a local business that actually cares about your animals.

I bought some fish from the Sandy location and made my way back to my home in SLC. When I got home, they were not getting along at all, so I immediately took them to my closest PetSmart, this location. I arrived about 45 minutes before close. The cashier informed me I could not return the fish to this location and would have to drive 40 minutes out of the way back to the Sandy location to return the fish where I bought them. I was quite frustrated, as I’d have to put the fish through double the stress in the car. The next day I took them back to Sandy, and the managers were frustrated after I explained to them my situation, and said that the cashier simply could have taken the fish back and saved me the trip. The Sandy store location was amazing and friendly, however every time I go to this SLC location I encounter the same unfriendly cashier, Sean? Today I informed him that that the PetSmart workers in Sandy said that fish can be returned at any location and he began to bicker with me about it trying to prove me wrong. I was just recommending some clarification on the policy to save others from having a long trip on a fish return. Regardless, the cashier was not friendly and I would beware when returning items to him.

Fantastic experience from beginning to end. I was extremely anxious when I was walking in because this time I came with my new 10 week old puppy, I was greeted almost instantly by a manager named Wendy. I was asked if I needed any help to which I said "no" which was a complete lie. After walking around lost Wendy met back up with me and I caved and asked for advice on toys, grooming, and other miscellaneous puppy questions. Wendy was extremely knowledgeable about the products and services they had to offer and helped me find everything I needed. Checking out I was able to chat with Mark who had helped me a few days prior(before) I got my puppy. He remembered about my puppy and gave me great service and treated her sweetly. Guy, another manager came over and had kind words to say and told me about a vegan treat which I'm excited for my pup to try again. I was so impressed by the customer service that I signed on to get a membership which took no time at all. 10/10 will be coming back for more products and possibly grooming.

So my experience was with an online order and not in store. The staff were very professional and directed me where to go to resolve my issue. My issue is, Everytime I order online I am double charged. And not like a small amount either. My most recent charge was for 118. Which is quite a bit for me to just lose for a week. So apparently when you place an order online, they do a pre-authorization on the amount of the purchase, however, they also charge you account for the actual purchase. I was told the charge would go away after the items were picked up, but that is not the case. In reality, they are "holding" this money for 5-7 business days after receiving the payment for the items ordered. I'm beyond upset and will sadly not be using PetSmart any longer. It's a shame, we spend 400-500 a month here for all of our pets but I can't keep being double charged and then told there's nothing to be done. I think also that with this corporation my frustration isn't even considered or cared about.

DEFINITELY, THE WORST GROOMING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! TRULY DISAPPOINTED!!! :( Decided to take my dog here for a full grooming since they had an opening for the next day. When I got my dog back from his grooming appointment, they told my daughter that they could not accept him anymore for he had a situation with a groomer, they also told my daughter that they weren't going to report it, "I guess as a way for them to be nice and get away with this" but this never happened when we took him to the PetSmart at Taylorsville. They did not fully cut his hair, I saw some leftover uncut hair around his neck and chest area. He also got a small cut on one of the warts he has on his neck. Not only that he also has been licking himself a lot lately and I've seen a few little bugs on him, which he has never had before, until we got him back from his grooming at this Pet Smart. Definitely not worth the time or money!

I have twice within the past week to get my dog groomed by PetSmart. I had appointments both times. The first time I was turned away because my dog was booked with a person that apparently had a weight limit of 40 lbs, my dog was 45.2 lbs. There was another groomer who had just started a cut on a tiny dog but they were unwilling to swap dogs so they rebooked me and were unapologetic. Next appointment they called 10 minutes prior to the appointment and said that their ac was out and it was 9 degrees warmer than usual so cancelled the appointment. It's hard because I work FT And must take time off work to drive the 30 minutes to get there only to be turned away at the last minute. I'm trying Petco for grooming and hopefully they will have more follow through and respect for the owners time. I don't recommend anyone go here as you never know if they will actually follow through with the appointment you have booked with them.

Like, if this, Petsmart a three points or three stars, because the cashier lady was very very friendly, and she had a ad with in the newspaper by her register, and if a customer didn’t know that there was some type of sale promotion happening in the store for an item that they were purchasing, she would notice it, andoff and automatically gave it to individual checking out. I thought that was very professional and great customer service for that I get to the store five stars not to mention it’s a very clean store, and things are neatly put away and easily to find. Actually, I give this four stars because they don’t take pitbull’s for their doggy daycare and pitbull are not allowed. I think if you’re gonna call yourself, Petsmart you should be able to deal with all animals regardless of the breed that they get actually three stars.

We really like petsmart. Their grooming staff is friendly, efficient and get along well with our Jean-luc. The Banfield clinic is superb, they take care of our dog health issues and their rates are remarkable with no surprises. By contrast when we had to go to some hospitals for emergency treatment, we were taken advantage of by the administration of some bad medecine for arthritis. The dog got very sick, more visits, more recommendation of unneeded x-rays, and some operations that run into the thousands of dollars. We refused such outright theft. Weaned the dog from the delinquent medecine, stopped at Banfield who advised us to keep giving him the Omeprasole. He is well now when we were thinking about putting him down. Thank you Petsmart for saving our dog and not gouging my pocketbook.

This petsmart closes at 9pm, and my partner went there at 8pm and browsed for a little under an hour. She needed someone to help get something from a fishtank. She saw an employee helping a man and approached the employee right after they were done. The employee told my partner that they were closed and couldn’t help her despite just having helped that man. The time was 8:57, so there was no reason the employee couldn’t help retrieve a fish. My partner isn’t white, and we can’t help but feel like that played a factor and that the employee felt less obligated to help my partner. To top it all off, the employee was talking with a friend (not a fellow employee) for the last half hour and no loud speaker announcements regarding closing were made.

I took my puppy to the groomer for his first grooming session, which included a haircut, shampoo, and more. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the groomer exceeded my expectations. She was incredibly skilled and took the time to explain each step of the process. She also shared any challenges she encountered and how she successfully addressed them. Her knowledge and expertise made me feel confident and at ease about bringing my puppy back in the future. I'm happy to say that both my puppy and I were pleased with the experience. Thank you to the groomer for providing such excellent service!

The biggest downside of this PetSmart is that it's located in a really "off the beaten track" area. I don't know how about of the businesses around here stay open. I think this reflects in the reduced number of employees seemingly available at a given time, less stock than other stores, etc. That said, it's a PetSmart. I've rarely not found what I need, and bring in a less busy area means that I don't have to deal with a lot of people or long lines. It's also slightly more convenient for quick pickups if I'm stopping by the nearby Costco. Store is always clean and employees are friendly.

Very unprofessional I called about a month ago to schedule for my SICK PUPPY and I called two days before I had thought they had scheduled me just to make sure I was still good tl take my pup in and come to find they never scheduled me. I had called and scheduled in the beginning of August and they told me nothing was available till September 2nd. They sit here and say they care for our dogs when really they don’t. I’m always in the store and they never seem to be seeing anyone very disappointed I bring my dog here for training not no more.

Theparticular customer service rep that I had encountered was very courteous and surprisingly more knowledgeable about pet health than I had anticipated, I had an issue with my pets anxiety and the person I talked with suggested a method of treatment that was actually helpful and also brought to my attention that if his suggestion did not help my pet that I could return the remainder of the product for a refund which is something that I did not know. My trip to the store was very informative and helpful and gets a big two thumbs up from me

I Do adoption events for the different PetSmarts as a partner with PetSmart charities. I buy stuff and get it tax-exempt because we're a 501 c 3. I talked to the guy at the desk and he was extremely rude to me and I pulled a picture of my determination letter that shows tax-exempt up and the other manager came up and said nope we ain't doing this for you, you need to have a paper copy. I've just never had to deal with such a rude experience with PetSmart. The cashiers are usually nicer than that and especially the managers.

This PetsMart was much superior to other Petsmarts I’ve visited. I had to replace and item that was broken when i purchased it in Orem but hadn’t realized the issue until I returned home. I was closer to this Petsmart when I noticed the issue, and when I talked to an employee about it they were willing and ready to help! They managed to find a replacement in the back for me and were kind the whole time. I’ve also taken my dog for grooming here, he loved it and came back smelling good and wearing a cute bandana!

Worst place I’ve ever gone to take my dog to get groomed. Jessica did not want to groom my dog although I agreed with her to shave him down. I’m assuming she just did not want to work or deal with my dog because no other place has ever done this nor shaved him down. I took work off and traveled 25 miles to get him groomed and she did not want to take him. I told her that I took work off and she did not care. Rudest groomer I have ever met. If I could give zero stars I would!

They no longer carry the 10 pack of the Extra Large Pads for Dogs, which hold 14 cups of liquid. Aside from this, I give this store Maximum Stars ✨✨⭐⭐ I, arrived just before closing, went directly to the cashier and asked where the the Hills Science Diet for Senior Small Dogs was. He directed to the exact correct location, which made it possible for me to find what I was looking for much Quicker. He should be considered for a manager position.

I took my Yorkie when he was a puppy to get his first haircut at petsmart grooming 3 years later tried to make another appointment to get him groomed again made a appointment 2 hours later got a call from petsmart grooming saying my dog was banded from their store for what we have no clue why?? He has had no problems at other groomers would NOT recommend this place to anyone ever. take your fur babies to K9 behavior he is being groomed now and doing great.

i’ve been going to this store for a few years. usually it’s a pleasant experience. lately the store has been a lot more dingey/dirty and just not taken care of. on top of that multiple times over the last few months i’ve seen one of the store managers being extremely rude to her employees. i only give it three stars because most of the employees there are very helpful. sad to see a once good location ruined by bad management. do better.

I like the store because it was very clean and at 10 a.m. in the morning when I was there there were hardly any customers in the store. And there were enough employees to help me when I needed directions or help with a product. The only downfall is the only birds I could find were parakeets and a few finches. I was hoping for a little bit more selection of birds. But overall if you are just looking for supplies a good place to go.

I use to come here but after I saw how the man at the register treated a lady I was in shock. Not sure what happen before I got to the line but he was saying " I AM NOT AND WILL NOT SHARE INFORMATION" I have no idea what she did but it could've been handled on a side with bit more professional then that and his body language and face was horrible and by the way the lady was African it just did not look good in so many ways .......

Sean was extremely rude to myself and multiple other customers during my visit, while also somehow being even worse to his fellow coworkers. I have come to this location consistently for years and have never once had such an awful experience with customer service. You guys just lost a customer. If anyone comes across this review when looking for this location, be prepared to be verbally assaulted and talked down to by the staff.

I just recently had to put to rest my dog do to this companys inability to clean up in there parking lot I didn't realize it then but my dog got into antifreeze in there parking lot and I didn't realize it was that until It was already done and over with... I walked in with a short amount of time somebody helped me find what I needed and made sure I got checked out quickly. It was one of the best experience I've had in there I enjoyed it, especially because I was able to get out and go without any extra chit chat. Having said that I needed to help to get out quickly, young lady expedited me and I really did appreciate it.

I love PetSmart. My groomer is M'lyssa. She does a great job on my two little terriers. Ruff gets growly and other groomers are intimidated by him. She said he didn't growl once with her, both times, but then growled at the person that was checking him over. She is the dog whisperer. Book a grooming with her. You will be so happy with her attention to detail.

Terrible experience, Terrible customer service... I was trying to be cute about my kitty that had a problem and she told me and my son our cat is " totally gross"... Then gave us a hard time about getting cat litter off a wrapped pallet. She was the manager on duty so there was no recourse... May I suggest hiring people who like animals and animal parents.

Have had staff at this PetSmart judge me for using a collar for more than a year despite washing it multiple times. Have also had trouble with them helping me find the correct size of harness or collar for my own as well as dogs I'm watching neck's and back sizes. Store itself is fairly neat but you're on your own to find things... Help yourself...

The manager here was so helpful and so kind! She gave us pricing that was not typical, so that was amazing. But what stood out was her attitude. She was so kind and willing to go the extra mile to help out. This is rare. Which is nuts, but in today's climate, everyone seems to think that being a jerk is the way to be.

They practice distancing for covid. They are super polite and helpful in finding any items you're looking for. All employees I've seen and have helped me have a great deal of knowledge about the products they sell. They are friendly and enjoy meeting all their furry friend customers.

Went to get an aquarium and fish. The workers there were knowledgeable and helpful. Telling us to set the tank up first and let it run. Then bringing a water sample to test and make sure it was good for the fish! All around wonderful experience. It was wonderful.

Organized and set up like all other Petsmarts. Clean store. Found it strange that the fish tanks had caution tape with a sign preventing customers to get close to the fish. The cashier was super nice. I’ll come back for the convenience of the location.

DO NOT get your dog groomed here!! I spent $130 to get my dog bathed and groomed and now she has LICE and it’s been the biggest hassle trying to get rid of it! Definitely do your research before getting your animal bathed or groomed here!!

I love their pet training. Been doing it since last year. My dog is in Advanced and Brain Games classes, and they listen. They also have the food supplies that I need at reasonable prices, and my dog is always welcome on a leash.

Just got a new pup pup and I'm glad I'm near this location. Staff here was very friendly and welcoming. They gave me tons of tips on what to expect with a new puppy. Also, they have a great selection of food, toys and clothes.

Wouldn't groom our dog because the paperwork listed a three year rabies shot and the injection date, but didn't have an explicit expiration date. Stupid manager wouldn't add three years to the date the shot was given.
