My dog had regular grooming at Petbarn Mt Gravatt every 8 weeks for the last 5 to 6 years. This time was the worst experience I’ve ever had by the store assistant manager Alfio. Normally the counter staff was very friendly and helpful by asking if I’m the member and get my phone number type in to search it and get the member discount. Alfio did not, I had to ask him to do so to find my membership. After I told him my number, I saw him typing the wrong number in. I ask him if anything came up because he typed it wrong. Then he accused me telling him the wrong number instead of saying maybe he did it wrong. After he typed in the correct number, he even did not confirm back my member detail as other staff member normally did. After the payment I told him you were not as friendly, helpful and professional as other staff, I even told him what other staff normally do for the last 5 years. Then he accused me again that I gave him the wrong number which I have for ages. I said I saw you typed it wrong the first attempt that’s why I wanted you to confirm back. Then he ACCUSED ME AGAIN telling him the wrong number. At that moment I just felt he did that to me very high chance only because I am Asian and no problem for him to bully me. He was so arrogant and never tried to apologise which I won’t expect from a person like him. It was only 9am on my day off and it totally ruined my mood and made me feel disgusted. How can a big company like Petbarn hired an assistant manager with this attitude? Don’t know what is customer service, customer interaction and even don’t know the basic SOP of customer check out. Totally unacceptable and disappointed. Being a regular customer from paying $80 5 years ago to now $105+$10 fresh breath and file dogs nails every 8 weeks, seems like we supported the wrong business for a long time and even not being valued. Now I believe why people left 1 star reviews said there’s a problem with the management team in Petbarn Mt Gravatt.

As the owner of a 8 month old Siberian Husky(Mishka) - I must admit that when i purchased her I didn't know what I got myself in to for the most part despite doing my homework on the breed (she looked so perfect lol.) After much procrastination with where to go for training upon walking down to my local Petbarn (Mt Gravatt) with her I met Jessica - who encouraged me to booking her into puppy pre-school which I did. What an amazing experience with Jessica and Alex - their patience and understanding was absolutely brilliant - naturally everything I was doing from a discipline perspective was wrong (and that made sense when they explained it logically) I'm so glad and happy i worked that out then not when my Mishka had began to mature. After the first 5 sessions I wanted to progress to the beginner course which to my disappointment I couldn't get in with the same trainers (Jessica and Alex) for six weeks. But I saw that there was an availability at the Macgregor store a week later, naturally I booked in to that and went to the first course - in the most respectful manner can I just say that their is absolutely no comparison to the quality of training I received prior and the experience and professionalism of the trainer was clear. I went to one session and that was enough for me. I forgot about it for a while then booked in to the beginner class at Mt Gravatt and let me tell you I am so happy I did. Thankyou Jessica and Alex for all of your professionalism, patience and understanding - and thankyou for dealing with all of my probably annoying random questions. I wouldn't have the confidence with behaviour training that I do now, and i'm so glad I have the skills which you gave me to advance and make sure her basic obedience remains until Mishka's adult years. I couldn't recommend the training at the Mt Gravatt Petbarn enough, make sure it's with Jessica and Alex - you won't regret it.

We took our mini poodle to Petbarn Mt Gravatt today for a teddy bear groom and to dye his ears and tail for a bit of fun. We walked in with a beautiful big fluffy teddy bear and walked out with a rather sad looking poodle cut. While I like the colour of the dye, it’s not neat at all and has quite a lot of accidental staining all over his rear end which looks ridiculous and as I paid extra is really disappointing. We aren’t happy with this clip and won’t be back. They’ve completely cut off about 8 months worth of monthly grooming and growing to get where we were with his teddy face which is really annoying! Our puppy usually gets really excited after his grooming sessions with our regular groomer (who unfortunately was fully booked for this Saturday) but when we picked him up today from Mt Gravatt, he seemed really timid and not himself which leads me to wonder what happened to him while he was there. We also had to take him back as they didn’t do the hygiene clip or pluck his ears. We hate the way he looks after this clip and won’t be back. * on further inspection, they haven’t even trimmed the fur under his feet in between the toes! He’s still got long curly fur all under his feet! What a rip off!! This groom cost over $100.

I went to Petbarn with the intention to get car seat cover. My golden retriever has motion sickness and often threw up in the car. I found Kurgo backseat bridge and Kurgo bench seat cover and thought that this combination would work for my dog. I was hoping the bridge would help stabilise and create more space for my dog. The seat cover looks very durable. I wasn’t sure if these are the best combination and wanted to fit the products to my car. I approached a staff - her name was Tayla and I wanted to specially say thanks to her. I was super impressed with her service because she helped to fit the products in the car and also was very helpful and friendly throughout the whole sale. I had a voucher too - spend $250 and get $70 off so she suggested to get more items for my dog to maximise my savings. She also did a price match for the 12kg Hills Science Diet Sensitive Stomach for dogs. Overall I am very impressive with her service and found that she went above and beyond to keep customers happy. Very professional too!

Super disappointed in the service. I specifically asked that my dog’s eyelashes not be cut. I pick him up to completely no eyelashes on one eye and super short ones left on the other. They were growing back from the first time they shaved them off after giving specific instructions not. His long eyelashes were a feature I loved on him as a pup which continued to grow very lush. It is clear they do not follow instructions as this is the second time at this store they have cut off his lashes when they were finally looking good again. . It is obvious it is a numbers game and not a service where they care about your dog. An expensive grooming session of $90 for my dog that did not even get a even cut. Super disappointed and do not plan on using this service again. Twice shy.

Highly, highly recommend staff members Ian and Jess. I decided to start a fish tank and get an Elephant Ear Betta. After so much research and conflicting info from multiple sites and stores, I was feeling overwhelmed. I met Jess at the Mount Gravatt store, who was super helpful and demonstrated excellent customer service. Then I met Ian, I was so impressed with his humble approach, extensive knowledge and patience with my never ending questions. Ian's understanding of aquariums and fish health is second to none. Even though Mount Gravatt is not my local store, I am more then happy to drive the extra distance just to deal with Ian. I highly recommend Pet Barn Mount Gravatt. Thank you so much for your help, my new little Betta Harold is settling into his new home!

I took my mother to get her 5 year old Bearded Dragon a new enclosure and the lady sent us to the guy that was suppose to know everything about "reptiles" and he obviously didn't know anything he was talking about! Tried to sell us 60x30x37cm which is extremely too small, in fact they had no suitable sizes for Dragons yet he still tried to give us advice saying we could house him in these. This is so WRONG!!!! He is giving out false information to the public, who knows how many people have listened to this man that has no idea what he is talking about. Will not be going back to Petbarn as the staff have no idea what they are talking about and it is beyond cruel to be giving animals small enclosure and people false information!!!!

A huge thank you to the young man that helped us perform a rescue mission this afternoon. In the excitement of it all, I didn’t catch his name. But he knows who he is. We spotted a lost kitten in the car park making a run for it, and tried to chase it down. It ended up lodging itself underneath a car tray to the dismay of ourselves and the car owner. The gentlemen didn’t hesitate to crawl under the car and pull the kitten out, getting scratched and a little burnt in the process. Without the help of this staff member I’m not sure we would’ve been able to get him out. The kitten is now safe in store and the vet has been contacted. Can’t thank you enough for making sure this story had a happy ending.

We recently completed the beginner class training school with our 6-month puppy, Jim. We did puppy school at a different Petbarn (which was good), but this one was even better. Alex and Jess clearly know what they are doing and their training tips have worked really well. Alex would always demonstrate with one of the puppies during class and it was amazing to see it working in front of your eyes! It was also great having Jess there to provide extra support as we usually had about 8 to 10 dogs in each class. The store is really big so there's plenty of space to spread out and train our pups. Overall, really enjoyed it and will definitely come back for the intermediate class.

Don’t take your dog here for “grooming” if you don’t want them to just shave off all their fur. I’ve tried to give them a couple of opportunities but every time they just want to take the quick and lazy option of shaving then down to like a #1 level - they simply refuse to brush, wash and trim as specifically requested - especially in winter when my dog will now be without his coat! Charged me $90 for this awful (dis)service to an 11kg Spoodle, didn’t do what I asked, and to make matters worse I found him locked up, alone, in a cage at the back when I went to collect him. I will not be going back!!

Went in today with our Shar-Pei cross, Lucas for a bath and asked for some advice on nail clipping and the first guy gave us a little advice but told us he wasn't too knowledgeable and asked us to wait a little bit and he got another employee to help us which was nice. Rose gave us advice on how to clip Lucas's nails and showed us how to do it then she also went the extra mile and gave us further advice on what we should be feeding him to help with his coat and skin. Rose genuinely shows she loves animals and gave Lucas the biggest hug when she was done, THANKS!!!

Certainly wouldn't take my dog there for puppy training if you have a small dog.On the second visit they introduced a larger dog who harassed our mini dachund.On the third visit more large dogs, and due to lack of control of these dogs one of them bit our mini dachund on the nose,whist trying to get treats out of the trainers but bag.No follow up phone call to make sure he was OK or ,as to why we didn't go back for the last two lessons I think they need to have classes for small dogs only and keep the larger dogs in size appropriate classes.

Very disappointed with this visit ,the grooming staff at the store were negligent. I was told that I would receive an sms or email to confirm pick up.I waited until 5.30pm and no message so I drove to the store as they shut at 6pm only to find my dog all alone inside ,and the groomers had left at 4pm.Also,i showed them a picture of how i wanted the fur lenght to be ,and again he looks undernourished as they have completely shaved him. I am never leaving my dog here again.

I have visited this store quite a few time, and the store manager Lisa is extremely rude, I overheard the way she spoke to multiple staff members in a degrading and bullying manner I was appalled to say the least…. not to mention the few encounters I have have had myself she was rude and passive aggressive every time. I feel sorry for the staff and I have made the decision to never shop there again while she is in charge. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.

Always short-staffed. Give yourself 30 minutes to stand next to the fish section before having to find someone (almost impossible). They advertise thst you should keep Betta fish in a 9L + tank and then keep them in a 1L tank which is just awful. Prices are double what you would pay elsewhere. Petcity in Mt Gravatt is way cheaper with the same stuff and more. The staff that you can find are nice hence 2 stars

I used to travel to this store from sunnybank especially as the service was the best, now it seems some of the old staff have been replaced with rude unhelpful new staff members who would rather be difficult than look after a loyal customer of years who has spent thousands, i guess that is all it takes to ruin a place is the wrong people working there, will have to look for somewhere else to buy my pet needs.

Used to do a very good job up until my last visit 13/9/23. Up until now groomers were 10/10. Now they are 3/10. For the money they are charging they are actually ripping people off for the job they are now providing. The new groomer has obviously lied on her resume. Pet Barn has zero care about the standard of service they are providing by continuing to charge people for this groomers work.

Great pet supplies store. We came here to get supplies for our Boston Terrier. Easy parking at the front door for loading heavy stuff. Dog washing, grooming services available in store. Wide Isles well stocked. Good layout with each type of animal cater for in various isles.staff were very helpful and friendly. Signed us up for the club membership to receive discounts.

Tried to call twice for something I didn’t want to drive in for if product is sold out. They didn’t answer so had to drive in. The store was pretty quite and three people up the front counter were all next to the phones just chatting to one another. Very clean and large shop that causes variety of goods, toys, food for your pet/pets. There’s a grooming salon for pets and There’s even a vet next to it. I came here for my cockatiel needs and toys, there’s plenty to choose from. The staff are helpful in case you need to ask questions. There’s lots of parking outside

I ask for a tidy up as my dog is allergic to bites from insects to go in and his long hair had been clipped of l told them last time I had him clipped he a cone on his head for 4 months creams and antibiotics.Very poor service not happy at all never going back and I hope my poor dog is not in for the same ruff time

Popped in to give our Border Collie a bath after a trip to the beach, and the facilities were excellent for it. He wasn't that big a fan of it off course but in the 10 minutes we got for $10 we were able to wash/shampoo/condition and dry him off thoroughly. I would recommend bringing a towel as well though.

Every time I need pet supplies, I go to my local pet barn. I have had great service, they always tell me If there is a better offer on and as I buy 30L of kitty litter they even offer to carry it to my car. I have sent in several staff compliments as they are always helpful and retail is a tough job.

Always 10 out of 10 service. Helpful, happy and informative staff. Great rewards for loyalty. I buy premium dog food in the 20kg bags (which they ALWAYS offer to help carry out to the car), and they will price match a cheaper advertised price, however their offers usually beat these prices anyway.

Easy click and collect, big store and has a small range of fish to choose from….girls love looking at the fish. We might need a bigger fish tank with the collection of fish we have. Good value for money on dog food, Labradors eat plenty!!!!

Completely disgusted. My dog came home with two deep cuts on her paws bleeding everywhere. We paid for them to groom my dog, not to cut my dog. The grooming wasn’t even correct and was not even. Horrible service. Never coming again.
